MillerTNov 6, 2008Boring. Repetitive. Overrated. Fun for the first 20 mins, until you realise youll be criss crossing the map in a crappy jeep for the next 50 hours (if you bother to play it longer than an hour). As overhyped as Assassins Creed.

MacStoutNov 5, 2008Disappointed ! 2 for the graphics but otherwise the game is really boring, stupid missions go from A to B (B is always on the other side of the map), you just kill again and again the same guys, you destroy again and again the same enemy cars on the way. Frankly speaking nothing to compare with Far Cry. No doubt that reviewer in magazines have been bribed.

NickBNov 4, 2008This game should have been called FarDrive 2. I've literally spent more time in my vehicle than in the Grand Theft Auto series. There isn't much variety in the cars though, so it gets pretty repetitive fast.
That said, the missions are really enjoyable and there is no shortage of random fun stuff to do. -

TobyNov 2, 2008This game is great. I dont know whats all the hoopla about the DRM problems but if you buy the game on steam, you have no DRM problems. Sure the missions are repetitive and there is a ton of driving, but the missions are exhilarating and the driving is interrupted with guard posts that keep the game exciting.

NickS.Nov 2, 2008The only interesting thing about this game is how it managed to get so many good "professional" reviews. To begin with the game should not be called far cry 2 as it has ZERO to do with far cry. A cash in attempt. No need to discuss further. Just mindless running around, gfx boring and drab. console port.

JohnS.Nov 1, 2008I dont understand why people give this game a bad rating. The graphics are excellent, sound is very good, and story is okay. But the enemies are a little mind less but that really doesn't make a difference unless you play on hard (I play on medium) This game is enjoyable.

PaulBNov 1, 2008Come one people. This game is a good time. The weapons are well modeled and fun to use. The sound is excellent and the graphics are very good. The story is entertaining and the drive time adds to the ambience. Running a road block and putting a set of tire tracks across a few henchmen

dylanuOct 30, 2008My 4 outof 10 is for visual only, People that say this game is good either have not played it or like driving for to long and shooting check points. The aiming system is shit the ai is useless its a first person shooter not lets wander around look at the sights shoot someone the come back past and they are back what a waste of money and time.

lizardOct 29, 2008Dumbed down and drab, Far Cry 2 plays like a shallow console port, there's nothing to grip or immerse the player, the whole thing boils down to a bunch of pointless shootouts with some really stupid AI and some driving through bland unremarkable terrain. Half the game's budget must have gone on paying reviewers to lie.

EddieBOct 27, 2008I'm appalled by the sore sports rating this game 1 out of ten. So it didn't live up to your expectations. BIG DEAL. GROW UP. The game is great. Beautiful graphics. Smart AI. It has almost everything I could wish for in a game. Aside from a few minor flaws, The game proved to be worth the wait.

BrianSOct 27, 2008Game is way overrated. Boring is how I think of it. It also makes me think these gaming review sites are on the take. Gamespy the closest with 3.5 / 5. Not one of these review sites mentioned the broken multiplayer. Shame on them.

TrevorM.Oct 27, 2008I've been playing First Person Shooter since the original Wolfenstein shareware came out. There have been few, if any, FPS games that I haven't owned on PC and Xbox / Xbox 360. I'm a huge fan of both the original FarCry for PC, as well as the Xbox version. The two original games differ greatly, but each stands on its own for different reasons. Needless to say I

TomcatOct 27, 2008FC2 gameplay sucks. This is a technical showcase, perhaps a demonstration of games to come. But this game don't play. BORING AI, gunfights that don't make sense, point a belt fed at a characters chest and have him come at you, venture off the linear story map and get malaria and die. I would have much preferred a FC 1 Mod, waste of $50.00, I wish I had read the reviews first.

PaulT.Oct 26, 2008Totally ruined by the presence of SecuROM and limited activations. Pirates are now enjoying this game free of any hindrance, meanwhile, I'm left with having to hunt for something else. My computer is my business and I will not allow corporate spyware on my machine. This DRM is powerless against piracy and is killing the PC games industry.

ChrisOct 26, 2008I agree with Dave N.
The game is boring, graphics are awful and it seems this is mostly because they've decided to switch the engine from crytek to their own in house crap to save money.
I know designers in Montreal are lazy, but this is pathetic and a rip off. I want my money back! -

doomplayerplayerOct 26, 2008Buggy movements ruin this game on the PC & I have a GOD system. Couldn't take more than 30 minutes of my character running for seconds after movement controls were reversed.

SimonFOct 26, 2008Bland graphics when put up against Crisis and Hells Highway... You feel like you're in some Dark, boring Wasteland rather than Africa...shot by Uber AI who you rarely see, this fps is nothing special...In fact it's nothing much at all!....The T-Shirt in the fancy Box is pretty bland too!.... All in all, it's like eating tasteless toffee!

Edge MagazineCombat is thrilling – each weapon packing a solid, vicious blast; movement suggesting heft and momentum. [Dec 2008, p.80]
-
By adopting a laissez faire attitude to player discretion, Ubisoft has crafted a brilliant follow-up.
-
More importantly, it has nowhere near as many bugs as something like "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl," a title that bears many similarities. Add to the roughly 25 hour single-player campaign a remarkably easy-to-use map creation tool and a full multiplayer suite, and you've got one of the most complete overall gaming packages of the year, as well as one of the most ambitious.
