Gathering information, resting, and buying and selling items are all done in the village. Depending on the progress of the story and conversations with friends, events will occur and new areas will be explored.
Battles occur at encounters in dungeons! Up to four command-type party battles. When the gauge builds up during battle, you can kiss your allies to unleash their powers, "Ex Techniques"!
Various effects can be added by enchanting "Abilities" to your weapons and accessories. Abilities can be purchased at a magic shop or obtained by defeating enemies.
