Dec 16, 2014"a vast ocean that's one foot deep" describes the game in its current state perfectly. However I'm still giving it 9 because it's Elite and it's David Braben. It's also the best experience I've had in my Oculus Rift DK2 so far.

Dec 16, 2014The game I've been waiting for nearly 30 years. 400 Billion star systems and a full space sandbox to do what you want. Nothing on rails, so don't come expecting to be hand held. Amazing game and it can only get better with planetary landings, big game hunting. The scale of this game is beyond belief.

Dec 16, 2014Always online DRM added, offline removed.
A lot of empty space for an MMO. No MMO tools. Not much content. Repetitive. It's pretty though. I'm disappointed, this game had so much potential. If only the MOD community could have got a hold of it. -

Dec 16, 2014Game is fantastic and only getting better over time, but you might have to have an IQ above 75 to find it enjoyable. If you're a CoDbunny 12 year old with ADHD, this isn't the game for you--but if you can sit down in a game that doesn't hold your hand, stare out into the vast universe, and chart your own course, then you'll have an excellent time.

Dec 16, 2014really nice graphics and love space, but after breaking promises from kickstarter about offline mode and other features game is getting launched without id recommend staying away from this game. Cant trust them

Dec 16, 2014Has potential, I enjoy the graphics and the great sound design but as many other people write there is a lack of gameplay elements. It feels really empty and it's really hard playing with other friends which forces people mostly to just solo out on their own. I hope with the future expansions the game might live up to its potential, but at the moment it is just an empty shell.

Dec 16, 2014Just got mines from a smuggler into my face, expecting cargo.
10/10 would explode again.
But honestly: It's THE spacegame i've been waiting on since the X series tanked so badly. I played Elite on my C64 as a kid and now it's back in all it's glory.
And it will not stop where it is. Devs will continue develop content and expand an already vast universe (400bil starsystems yo) -
Dec 16, 2014Only game so far which may fully justify a purchase of Oculus Rift. I have spent hundreds of hours in beta/gamma stages and enjoyed it. This game is already very nice and it will get much better over time.

Dec 16, 2014A True Elite game : all the parts of the game are going well together : you need to buy and sell things to get money, you need to explore space to find things to buy/sell, you need to fight when you meet some one wanting your money... Incredibly immersing (rendering and audio !).

Dec 16, 2014It's not what they promised: no multiplayer, no freedom. You can't play with other players and, given the dimensions of the galaxy and the absence of things to do, you won't even meet anybody. Just pretty graphics and wild grinding: you make money to buy bigger ships. No challenge. You will find online free to play titles that are far better than this game.

Dec 16, 2014this game as it stands is mind bogglingly epic and very much daunting for the newbie. there is no hand holding. this is a game in the vein of the pre 2000 era. this is a difficult but rewarding game . the more you put into it, the more you get out. the potential expansion leaves me hopeful that this will be the stuff of legend in a matter of years
-
Dec 16, 2014Expected more. Rushed release. Really not much to do in the game, multiplayer doesn´t really deserve the name. The little that is there is still bugged.

Dec 16, 2014Marvelous, a fresh air into space sim gaming!
As per 2.07 (last pre-launch update) it feels good, looks better and plays great. The foundation is very solid and it can get only better with the promised development after release that will continue to expand the base of the game while also working on major improvements -

Dec 16, 2014Gameplay is rock solid. The audio is amazing. There combined in such a way that makes the game immersive and fun. Your ship does what you want it to. You can do whatever you want to. Be a pirate? Hunt pirates for there bounty and ill gotten goods? Become a trader? Mine some precious metals and cash in? Can't wait to see what they release for this beast next.

Dec 16, 2014Único en su especie de momento, puedes recorrer billones de sistema solares o pasarte horas y horas paseando y mirando planetas solo en uno... no existe nada comparable... (aun)

Dec 16, 2014meh. plain awful borefest. Sadly no refunds offered, no surprise. Stay away. Lots of empty promises :-( will sell it and hopefully get my money back otherwise.

Dec 16, 2014If you know anything about elite then you already know this game is going to be amazing, the original came out 30 years ago and was ground breaking, and this game is too.
Really good game, really nice graphics, modelled off the original and based off the milky way galaxy, If your a space sim fan then this game is for you. -
Dec 16, 2014This a vast and beautiful game. It easily exceeds its the previous versions in gameplay opportunists on its launch day and there is more to come in the next few weeks and months.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jul 8, 2015First minute the game takes your breath away and then it entertains you for another couple of hours to end up like a meditative tool for hard working individuals. What a waste and shame for a game in such beautiful environment. [Issue#253]

May 11, 2015Everyone who played the original game back in the 80's, should be right at home. It's the 21st Century version of "Elite." But newer, uninitiated players may find it strangely desolate and repetitive. A grand space simulation, aimed at the series' hardcore fans.

Apr 23, 2015You can focus on the journey, not the destination – even when some "road work" signs will bother you for the time being in the reincarnated Elite. But their numbers are declining with every new update so a thirty-year-old vision becomes more and more complete.
