    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is a true milestone in gaming history. Game play has nothing to complain about as it's done perfectly. It is spine chilling in most moments throughout the game. The story is nicely written, shows the life of survivors inside of the plague outbreak when they have to compete with another groups about their supplies. The DLC bring us outside the Harran city to look for a missing medicines required to survive in Harran. The only strange thing in the DLC that is actually good is that as Crane in one ending might get "Sacrificed" in the atomic bomb explosion when through entire game he tried to prevent GRE from air raid and all the sh*t done gets gone. The main story is 10/10 however dlc lowers overall rate as it might get boring as it's mostly based on side quests.… Expand

    I will be rating just the following DLC here... I didn't like it maybe the main game raised my expectations or **** car mechanic really made me sad that parkour is no longer needed well because to me one of the best things about main game was the parkour aspect (I almost never use grappling even when volatiles are hunting me) and the story was... I mean thats alright could've written aI will be rating just the following DLC here...     A DLC that is worth a new game. While others make Resident Evil 3 and name it a full game, techland makes a free DLC that is even bigger and feels like an almost sequel

    Dying Light is the best zombie game i have ever played. The Following keeps this level aswell. There is co-op mode and its very fun. This is a zombie/parkour/rpg. The flow is very good. One thing bothered me, The lots of driving with the buggy between quests in the following dlc. Maybe less driving parts would have been better, but I recommend for everyone, who likes zombie games.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. parkour is fun the following is a horrible dlc in my opinion because the ending is **** tedios and so so lame but its fun the kill zombies while you are driving your car the base game is good but the story is so uninteresting the only good characters in the game is dr zere spike and dr camden but at least its fun to spend 7 hours grinding for stuff for order the level the legends skills… Expand

    dying light 1, se passa no cenário pós apocalíptico eu curti e aguardo jogar o 2 sendo sincero eu não cheguei a zerar esse primeiro, porém joguei, e tenho na minha steam.

    While most people like the expansion The Following more than the original game, for me it felt like a small downgrade. But it was still a good and enjoyable game.

    Понравилось все, хотя мне сначала не давался паркур, зато потом я понял что какое интерактивное окружение благодаря ему. Да и боюсь я высоты, а тут столько высоких мест) Мне понравилась побеждать свои страхи!
    Плюсы +Саунд +Открытый мир, повсюду зомби, могут попасться выжившие и т.д.. + Так еще и не не    Если бы мне кто-то сказал что я потрачу на эту игру почти 70ч, я бы не поверил!

    +Обширный арсенал, начиная от различного холодного (которое еще можно метать) заканчивая различными типами огнестрелов и по мелочи: молотовы,с4,хлопушки,петарды.
    +Рецептов в игре очень много ( так как я купил платинум эдишен мб из-за этого у меня было открыто много рецептов с самого начала)
    +Сюжет кидает нас в различные ситуации.
    ++Большой плюс это кооператив на 4 человек. Проходится бодро и с весельем
    +Атмосфера локального зомби апокалипсиса передана по моему мнению отлично!
    +Так же ночи в этой игре настолько опасны, настолько же прекрасны, а еще тут присутствует смена погоды.
    +Последняя миссия заставила попарится) Злодей не хотел помирать с первой попытки)

Кататься на машинке прикольно, хоть и если застрянет, а рядом прыгуны, то пиши пропало, а застревает она нередко (особенно если в лес попрёшься, там деревьев уйма, и ни одно не сбить).     I'm amazed at the positive reviews. Ridden with "busy work" missions, poorly executed parkour and clumsy weapons, plus an awkward interface and linear skill tree, I managed about 30 minutes of increasingly irritating, unsatisfying game play before I had, had enough and uninstalled this one.

    Only upside is reasonable graphics but that's hardly a point of difference, these days.

    Still playing this one and enjoying myself since 2016, giving some time to developers to deliver needed updates for the sequel. Can't recommend enough to try and play this first opus, which is clearly one of my favourite games of all times.

    Just wasn't my cup of tea. Crane is a very memorable big dumb dumb however. Also grapple hooks and zombie horde mayhem is quite enjoyable. Haven't played the DLC content yet, I hear it's quite good. Might do that in the distant future

    Such a great game! I have just finished it after 40 hours on Xbox Series X. Still great looking, constant 60 FPS smooth, nice story and fun gameplay. I really recommend it SOLO for the first run!

    Dying light while not perfect by any means is Amazingly fun, as to not waste any time the deducted points are for Story and a bit for for the map

    - Parkour/Freerunning is endless fun really, i must have run in the same areas dozens of times through my playthroughs and it never felt stale. Cat jumping, Monkey Vaulting, Speed vaulting and tic tacing through the world never got old or    Dying light while not perfect by any means is Amazingly fun, as to not waste any time the deducted points are for Story and a bit for for the map

    - while this is not all that present in the Dying Light: The Following, DLC, then has some of the best driving i have ever experienced from a game that isent named Forza, Need For Speed or Dirt, the buggy feels like a buggy it doesnt float for infinity cough cough GTA, it doesnt have grip that wont slip, your car drifts, jumps, slips and drives just right to be fun as hell, driving halfway up a mountain face to avoid zombies or slipping and drifting around in the woods of the DLC area at night on **** old dirt foot paths is hilarious

    - Combat is like Dead island BUT GOOD, you get combat abilities, tools and a diverse cast of weapons and weapon mods that really diversify how you go about stuff and naturally made me wanna explore the combat system, and the arsenal at my disposal i reached a point where i thought "Hey using this suppressed rifle is too easy, Lets switch it up and go melee, fookin chop some heads off, weeve and bop kick some fools into spikes" and it was fun and i could still return to the rifle and have fun again

    - Visually the game holds up surprisingly great, the same character models are used repeatedly and obviously is just masked and clothed differently but it is surprisingly didnt get to me all that much as someone who likes good graphics, and the game managed to mask its aged textures really well, i feel it hard to talk about the graphics cause the experience of the game is just very visually pleasing and due to the free running aspect the game doesnt have to put yellow or white paint or literal warning tape over places you can climb

    - Noises, sounds and voice acting, the VA's and characters world building makes you pretty interested in the world and what people have to say, the protagonists voice acting is great, he manages to have range and different verbal tones in different situations, and the supporting cast is mostly pretty good there are some one off characters thats a bit bleh but they are one off characters that you interact with for all of 2 minutes, sound effects for the world and zombies are darn creepy before you get used to them and im not usually a scaredy cat.

    - while quests might be a bit repetitive like fetch quests or the completely voluntary escort missions it manages to not get old or tedious its supplemented greatly with Kyle Crane actually being present in the world, commenting on his objectives, interacting with the world and characters

    - Difficulty is actually measured off of what the average person could handle, its not determined by content creators that have 0 game sense that could fail a single key press quick time event they had 5 seconds to react to it, Normal is Normal, it will kill you if you are caught lackin, Hard will kick your ass if unprepared atleast for the 1st handful or 2 amount of hours as you build up your Survivor level

    Now to the negatives

    - The world might feel a little small and repetitive to some as it is not all that big. it about the size of what i wanna say is a district, being 1 district for each world area being The Slums, Old Town and The uhhhh i forgot the name of the area for the Following, so 3 districts which are what i wanna say is about 2 or 3Km by 2 or 3Km, but again i didnt find this too much of a bother as i had fun going around the world

    - The story is by far the weakest point, while i do consider this a surprisingly good story for a Zombie game, a genre plagued by unironically bad and weak writing and on purpose cliche or comedic writing (look at Dying lights spiritual predecessor form the same studio Dead island) or Dead Rising even if its a good game or 3 **** 4 tho) it is very not serious and obviously comedic. Dying light's serious story tries too hard at times and doesnt manage to capture your attention all of the time, there are also a lot of logical errors and questionable character choices that drag the writing down its not fantastic by any measure but it is atleast a good story, not something i can afford a full point for tho

    So i subtract 1 point for a kind of weak but good for the genre story and cause of the world size being on the smaller size so its kinda repetitive. i gotta be real here while i enjoy the world and the world throught side quests feel inhabited and it didnt get old to me, it is still pretty small and could use a bit more diverse environement or atleast more of what it has    … Expand

    I recomend this game? becouse it's best zombie-parkour game with cooperative i played.
    You can searh more secret easters egg, normal campaning, and in DLC you can drive buggy.
    Graphic normal and atmosphere is good.

Less janky combat with ranged/melee, Boss fights that actually relate to player progression with gear and abilities. None of that gimped player vs boss fight BS in like in Dying Light. Visually better damage indicators. A radial menu that actually is useful and not limited or clunky to use like the d-pad menu of Dying Light. Crafting and inventory management that was less nonsensical. Being able to do all crafting/repairs on the fly, but restricted in weapon/gear loadout in real time is a odd rebalance in Dying Light compared to Dead Islands.

    Techland don't have the rights to make a Dead Island anymore. So this spiritual successor which could of been an improvement in so many ways due to not being lore restricted failed to capitalize on all that potential.

    The writing was never Techlands strong points, but Dead Island did have four (five with Riptide) distinct characters with three distinct ability trees vs the mere one character and the mere three ability trees of Dying Light.

    In a lot of ways Dying Light was an actual step backwards from Dead Island, but the parkour element is enough for me to keep coming back time over time. The Following addon is good for getting extra weapons in new game+ base game run. Parkour is sadly very limited in the Following. It is more about driving/upgrading a off-road buggy.

    Sometimes a (spiritual) sequel to game can basically kill the interest in a pervious game dead as it is so good. I still play Dead Island to this day... I hope Dying Light 2 ups it's game.    … Expand

    It has Dead Island's strong points, combined to first person parkour with a pinch skill tree to unlock new cool moves. You can now walk on zombies on a highway and hook a building to flee some fckn volatiles.    Dying Light is the ultimate survival horror zombie game by Techland (as for 2021).
    It's a sandbox with multiplayer elements that enhanced the game as much as one can enjoy a buddy.
    It has Dead Island's strong points, combined to first person parkour with a pinch skill tree to unlock new cool moves.
    You can now walk on zombies on a highway and hook a building to flee some fckn volatiles. These nuisance creatures are the **** you least want to deal with. There are an average variety of zombies, from the coward ones to the buffed ones.
    It's a pleasure to navigate through Harran City, it has a heavy arabic style architecture that is easy to climb on, a beloved level design. Other places can be discovered but they are for the most part urban.
    I loved the combat, nothing much to say if you've played Dead Island, though fire weapon are way more effective than melee weapon, unbalanced imo. I felt the blueprints weren't worth the effort. The weapon has a bit of changed in appearance but it do not feel like a big upgrade, it's a let down for me, as I like to try and craft. To be honest, the crafting system is lacking progress system, I seldom used it, only for medkits.

    The story is your typical agent that works for "nobody cares" and he tries to be nice to people while killing the angry mob. It has some Bollywood moment too, it throws you off and it's kind of refreshing, the funny side is that it takes itself seriously, it's a nice touch. It's average and dumb, the voice acting is cool though(in English).
    The audio fx are great, music aren't that much present, and did not stuck with me unfortunately.

    The Following add a enormous new playground with vehicles and new quests that I yet need to try. But it gives another dimension to the game, leaving behind the verticality of Harran City for farm fields and broad environments, I love those kind of expansions.

    Grab a copy and play with a mate for more fun, or try it alone if you dare survive the night.

    Dying Light = tons of entertainment.

    Dying Light and Days Gone are the best two zombie games I have ever played.

    I am looking forward to Dying Light 2.

    In conclusion, Dying Light is a terrifying open-world zombie game with an excellent story, intent on scaring the living hell out of you. The thrill of rotting flesh, blood, guts and quite often my own tears has left me with an ironically refreshing outlook on what a game can be when it truly delivers.
