    I believe, before C.Avellone left the project with all his materials according the contract, DL2 was supposed to be a quite a different game. After that quality of writing, dialogs and plot became generic, and made up from bits and pieces that sometimes doen`t make sense at all. it looks like that final release of DL2 was done by people who had zero good successful projects behind, andI believe, before C.Avellone left the project with all his materials according the contract, DL2 was supposed to be a quite a different game.     Of cause you can`t not to compare it to the original game:
    new engine for the sake of ports to consoles - cringe , it looses to Chrome 6 visually and brings flashbacks from Fallout 4 (with original rubber-skin npcs); characters - cringe again, here you miss Crane and Rais both, about Jade and Rahim - don`t even start.... instead you got Lawan - npc like Sticky in Fallout 3: you want to kill it and forget straight away, but will fail the quest, so got to endure...
    about broken plot and all initial promises undelivered mentioned above, may be it could be a different game, but what got instead - 4-5 average score here is fair - not a BAD game, but far behind of the DL from 2015 and its add-on.

    In the age of Cyberpunk, Anthem, Fallout 76 and No Man's Sky - this game was actually complete upon release.

    M80s, we can neither ignore Denuvo nor define the game by its presence alone. Yes, it is a disappointing inclusion. And yes, Denuvo aside, the game has fun elements.

    Kolejna produkcja Techlandu w której bawiłem się nieco gorzej niż poprzednio. Na plus na pewno jest tu mapa, która jest nawet duża, w porównaniu do pierwszej części gra zrobiła progres z parkourem, w którym urozmaicenia związane z przemieszczaniem się po mieście robią wrażenie. Walka stoi dalej na wysokim poziomie, to samo można powiedzieć o rozwoju postaci. Jedyne co mnie średnio porwałoKolejna produkcja Techlandu w której bawiłem się nieco gorzej niż poprzednio.     -Lo malo: Lo peor sin duda es la repetición de escenarios...tantos edificios iguales con la misma estructura, los eventos que hay por el mapa siempre siguen las mismas pautas:
    -Lo bueno: El parkour está perfectamente implementado, es una delicia moverse por el mapa. La historia es decente y tiene muchas decisiones que afectan enormemente a la misma y eso me encanta como amante del rol.
    -Lo malo: Lo peor sin duda es la repetición de escenarios...tantos edificios iguales con la misma estructura, los eventos que hay por el mapa siempre siguen las mismas pautas: mismos enemigos protegiendo las mismas cosas, etc. Todo es super robotizado y cuadriculado. El doblaje lleno de errores, las físicas dudosas, secundarias poco originales y la exploración no tiene ningún interés.
    Pasadas las primeras 40 horas encontré todo aburridísimo excepto la trama principal, así que dejé de hacer eventos de mapa y misiones secundarias y pude disfrutar de la trama principal que es lo único salvable y me llega para aprobarlo al límite con un 5.

Bu kadar yavaş hareketlerin sonunda dediği şeyi önemsetemediğinde de büyük hayal kırıklığına uğruyorsunuz.

    Oyun yapılırken yapımcı ekipten birçok ayrılık oldu. Bunlardan birisi de Chris Avellone'du. Taciz iddiaları nedeniyle kovuldu, yazdığı metinler oyundan çıkarıldı falan. Sonunda ise herife iftira atıldığı ortaya çıktı. Ancak oyun o esnada çoktan piyasaya sürülmüştü. He varlığı oyunu tek başına toparlar mıydı emin değilim ama bu kadar berbat da olmazdı. Ya bir oyun hiçbir şekilde kendini önemsetmez mi ya? Feci sıkıcı bir oyun.

    Yanlış anlaşılmasın ilk oyunun görevleri veya hikayeleri daha kaliteli değildi. Ama kendisini ciddiye aldırmaya çalışıp sıkmıyordu. Ya da ben ilkini ilk olduğu için sevdim, bilmiyorum.

    Hakkını yemeyeyim, oyunun platform sistemi çok iyi. Tüm şehir platform için dizayn edilmiş. En ince ayrıntısından, yüksek gökdelenlerine kadar nasıl tırmanılacağı çok iyi tasarlanmış. Ancak ilk oyundaki kancanın bunda çok işlevsiz olması biraz canımı sıkmadı değil.

    Ben artık oyunlardaki loot işinden feci sıkıldım. Her saniye bir şey toplamaktan yoruldum. Bu işi God of War'daki gibi yapın yapacaksanız. Ender bir şey toplatın ve o toplattığınız şey gerçekten kıymetli olsun.

    Bir de oyun çok bug'lı. Çıkışının üzerinden 1 yıl geçmiş olmasına rağmen hala görev kıran bug var ki ben görev kırmadığı sürece bug konusuna pek takılmam.

    Neticede bitirmediğim için çok keskin şeyler söylemek istemiyorum ama bence olmamış. Çok oyunsuz kaldığım bir dönemde tekrar dönüp bakabilirim belki.

    My god, how can they break the goodwill they created with the first game so harshly. The physics sucks, the gore was downgraded, the combat lost all weight, the graphics are mediocre, the performance is awful, last minute Denuvo, and the story... Another game where everything depends on you and all npcs are useless. Dammit Techland :(

    It's not necessarily worse than it's predecessor, although the night chases are much more relaxed and less tense since you can more or less be safe at all times either hiding or simply outrunning everything...     The reason why I was so underwhelmed was because I expected the sequel to improve upon the original in significant ways and be more polished than it currently is.

    Technically, the game suffered a lot during my playthrough, my character kept getting stuck in walls after jumping, animations broke really frequently, my camera was spazzing out during "use" animations, my character would often times not grab obvious handholds and repeating the jump the same way would be fine the second time and so on...

    The monsters (rare/unique infected especially) are very repetitive, GRE anomalies are basically the same. This is the case with environments too, the same assets are used over and over to the point where big rooms and hubs look the exact same which gave me a bitter taste.

    The lore is quite decent, watching how people adapted to live in a world such as this, growing crops on the roofs, relying on solar energy, sleeping on shacks up high and constructing an environment that's easy to traverse by free running or using hooks/paragliders to be safe from the zombies below.

    One thing I didn't get is how people did not manage to make a relatively small city safe after 15 years of living in it, you would think with their high walls the only zombies left would be picked apart slowly until nothing was left...

    The parkour and combat system combined make for a decently fun experience once again, although I would have liked a "heavier" feeling parkour movement, it feels quite floaty. The combat can also feel somewhat unresponsive, a lot of animations have noticeable delay to them even if you're not using a 2h weapon.

    The control scheme was quite frustrating as well, there are a LOT of key combinations that do different things, one combo for example includes using caps lock... Also, the idea to have the jump key be THE SAME as the dodge key with directions made it feel really clunky as well.

    The very frequent cinematics that would take control off the player felt quite repetitive and annoying as well, my character would walk into a room and start looking around for 10 seconds before starting to speak with someone. I could look around myself you know. Conversations are extremely verbose and also include character actions and movement so if you decide to skip dialogue lines you can miss those. There must be 8 hrs worth of cutscenes like these in the game and I wasn't fond of them.

    The game also has a very old gen feel to it where friendly characters would run away from an infected with you but they would be unnaturally fast and would SLAM like 9 doors behind them, leaving you to open them again, once more, with a cinematic approach. Often times when in conversations with certain characters they would completely disappear afterwards, teleporting to another location as well. All of these felt quite jarring.

    The story and dialogue weren't anything to write home about but they were serviceable enough, the decisions you make do have an impact on who lives and who dies for example.

    There is something to say about obliterating a big group of zombies with a massive 2 handed weapon, body parts flying everywhere while maneuvering around like a mini spider man. The game certainly has its moments.

    Overall if you feel like hacking some zombies' limbs off while freerunning on rooftops, this will be an enjoyable experience for a while, until the repetitive monsters/zones/glitches start to annoy you.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is an ok game, but , and I don't know how to properly describe this, but... it does not really feel like a Dying Light game
    First of, the game is full of bugs, the parkour combat, which is supposed to be its staple, does not work 90% of the time, and the game has a lot of stability issues still(I play in a Rog Strix X570-e. 32gb ram, RTX 2080 OC version, and it is stored in an SSD) like I have to restart the game anywhere from 3-4 times for it to work, as I get gamebreaking fps loss the first few times, after? Not a single drop, playing for hours at a time, and not one

    Now, the game feels bland, in DL there was a sense of urgency and there was fear of being out at night, here it's a piece of cake, neither urgency, nor fear, the gameplay is ok, but without the whole combat working, it is just hacking with the swords or shooting arrows, and that is another thing, there is no sense of accomplishment, you can easily find "Artifact" weapons(Equivalent to the legendary weapons/fluorescent yellow in DL) and I spent the whole game with 3 swords and the bow, nothing else, so there is no challenge at all, and the challenge that there is, is just disproportionate, like the parkour challenges, there are some that are plain dumb

    Characters are forgettable at best, not one character makes the same impression that, say, Rahim, Jade, Ezgi, or even Brecken, Spike or Gazi make, some parts of the story are kind of dumb or nonsensical, and the game tries to be "smart" but it feels like it is the total opposite, those "plot twists" are not "Wowing" at all, the only characters that cause an impression are Lawan and Maybe Hakon, but the rest of filler characters just don't make the cut, heck, in DL even small characters like Neil or Ayo leave a little mark, here it all feels generic and bland

    In general the game is an ok game but it tires you a bit after a while and brings nothing new, and this is coming from someone that has 10k+ hours in Skyrim, and that always goes back to play his favorites like DL, Skyrim, Fallout, Metro, TLOU, etc. when I finished this game I felt relieved, and do not feel like playing NG+(When in DL I went right to NG+ after I finished it and have played that game some 8 times), the only other game where this happened to me was Ghostwire, which I have not finished, so in reality, this game was a big disappointment

    If you are going to buy it, I'd say wait until after april 2023 to see if the patch fixes the things I mentioned(Nothing can fix the bland story though) or better yet, wait until a few DLCs drop to see if it gets better

    One small redeeming quality is that it gives you some easter eggs regarding the Harran survivors, some are still alive, so there's that(not spoiling it for you though)

I finished it in co-op and around every corner there were glitches that would disrupt the flow and feel of the game. The atmosphere is also subpar compared to the first Dying Light. Sure, the brighter and more vibrant colors are pretty. But at the same time, the dark and heavy post-apocalyptic feeling is mostly gone now. I think I am playing Far Cry New Dawn, not exactly sure anymore.

    I could explain everything I've said in more detail, but that would be another wall of text done by a million other people already. In conclusion, Dying Light 2 has lost vision of its core identity. The things that once made this franchise so good, are replaced by popular bland game design or changed to the point they don't feel as great as they did before.

    I found this to be a rather fun game. I didnt expect to like the parkour elements as much as I did - reminded me a bit more of AC than I expected. Not completely convinced by the skill tree tho. The combat is fairly fun. The story has a LOT of dialogue so far .. tapping through with space bar and sub-titles speeds that up! More and more of the game keeps opening up for me.     However, Multiplayer is where it truly started to shine for me - once both my friend and I were playing in the same game, it became massively more fun than playing alone, which I actually found kinda stressful with the constant fear of death.

    I really dont understand all the "0" reviews for this game - theres no reason for that. I assume its a bunch of haters or protesters?

    Passed only the main plot, side quests were not interested.
    Not bad graphics with excellent optimization. Banal plot, but good characters. The gameplay is quite normal.
    One fat minus, there are no love relationships in the game, as in Cyberpunk. Minus two points for such a missed opportunity.

    It really surprises me that DL2 has this huge amount of negative reviews. For me it went BETTER than first DL simply because gameplay took some massive improvements since first game arrived. It was really fun to PLAY. The story is mediocre or even worse, that's true, but funny thing is narrative in DL2 is still better than first DL game. Yes, huge amount of troubles like weird upgrade system, a lot of some Ubisoft stuff like towers and other **** content no1 is interested in. Also a lot of looting which is also annoying. But overall i like it and i prefer DL2 over DL1 simply because of amazing gameplay compared to first game. Expand

    You know, I feel as if in a lot of ways Techland is really trying to listen to player feedback and truly follow this game up with a lot of support such as they did with the last game, but the problem for me is that even after trying this game again, not finishing it this time around and doing this following the advice of a developer who posted a comment on my original review mentioning theYou know, I feel as if in a lot of ways Techland is really trying to listen to player feedback and truly follow this game up with a lot of support such as they did with the last game, but the problem for me is that even after trying this game again, not finishing it this time around and doing this following the advice of a developer who posted a comment on my original review mentioning the addition of NG+ mode (one of my most requested features) I still feel as if the game is riddled with issues.

    For starters, I would like no mention what I like about the game; the world, the story and characters (as silly and as poorly written as they are) all of those, to me, are an improvement over the last game, I like the fact that I can have multiple choices throughout the game and how detailed and beautiful the world is. Given that this is a recent game, I -naturally-, also love the graphical fidelity; but the game still has -sadly-, some pretty fair share of things I dislike.

    For starters, the gore is not as good as it was in the original, it has been improved significantly from how it was when the game launched, but it’s still a bit of a random dice toss whether your attacks would actually dismember the enemies or not…

    Then there’s the fact that the enemies tend to get a hold of you prompting a quick time event each time you miss a dodge or a grab, something that was also part of the last game, but that wasn’t nearly as frequent, and therefore, not nearly as annoying as it is here; I really wish there was an option to disable this qte’s, or completely get rid of the grabs.

    But perhaps the biggest gripe I have with the game right now has to do with two aspects: one is the story padding, there’s literally a point in the game where you have to complete a number of different sidequests to continue the main story, something that feels it was just added here as a way to increase the game’s length. Secondly, there’s also the fact that I don’t like how the new game plus mode is implemented…

    In the last game NG+ was implemented at launch, as soon as I finished the game I went back and replay it again in its entirety with my grappling hook, combat and agility upgrades, and inventory, it was incredibly overpowered, but above all else, it was a heck of a ton of fun, it was so much fun!!! I didn’t care if I finished the game in three hours the second time around you see, because the core aspect of why I even play games in the first place was held intact; the engagement and enjoyment I would get from the game hadn’t changed.

    Here NG+ mode was implemented months after the game’s release and it doesn’t let you keep anything but your inventory and abilities, all of your Nightrunner tools, such as the grappling hook, or the glider, are gone.
    This means that one of the most enjoyable elements in the later parts of the game are gone, you can use the grappling hook in this game for traversal and combat, yet you can’t bring it here for NG+ mode, you can use the paraglider in the first half area of the game once you’ve obtained it in the main story, yet here, they removed my ability to keep it.

    I’ve heard on reddit that “it would break the game” but on the same post I saw someone making a mod for this particular problem and it would work great, so I don’t see why Techland couldn’t do the same.

    You understand I’m not playing your damn single player game for challenge or for balance, this isn’t a multiplayer competitive experience that’s supposed to keep me in my toes for ten minutes only for me to then die multiple times; the whole point of a single player game is to be fun and let me play at my own pace whilst at the same time delivering a great (or at least entertaining) story. I can’t achieve these two things if you detract some really fun items from my experience, the same way I can’t just enjoy the story if you keep deviating me from it to artificially prolong the experience.

    But like I say, it does seem as if Techland is listening, so maybe they’ll give access to more options, maybe they’ll give us the option to disable those annoying QTE’s at later updates, maybe they’ll even patch in the glider and hook to the NG+ mode, who knows? I wouldn’t even care if they would forbid me to partake in some of the challenges added to the game if they were to give me my tools back.

    I also really hope they increase the chances of gore in the game, I loved the way the gore worked in the original Dying Light.

    Siento decir que esta ultima entrega de Dying Light me ha dejado muy mal sabor de boca. Partiendo de la primera entrega que sin ser una cosa muy innovadora impacto bastante en su tiempo y gusto en general. Esta segunda entrega decepciona en la mayor parte de los aspectos. La historia y personajes dejan mucho que desear. Literalmente están muy mal redactados e integrados en la narrativa. Esta a su vez esta contada de muy mala manera y es completamente aburrida y repetitiva. El juego en si esta plagado de contenido totalmente inútil e innecesario. Debido a que puedes tener una total progresión en el juego sin necesidad de completar ninguna misión o actividad secundaria. A su vez las mecánicas son muy repetitivas y se nota que han invertido nada de tiempo en mejorar o innovar. A su vez el combate o las partes de acción dentro del juego están muy mal detalladas y son prácticamente calcos unas de otras. La toma de decisiones dentro la narrativa no se llega a notar de manera importante en ningún momento. En general el juego es divertido y entrenetenido gracias al parkour. Pero este podría a su vez ser mucho mejor y mas dinámico. En términos generales es un juego pasable pero falto de cariño y detalle. Sin ser su anterior entrega nada de otro mundo se ve claramente que con esta segunda parte han dado completamente un paso atrás.

    Its a solid 6/10. Not good not bad either. People are harsh with their ratings giving it 0s. I would say that the first 20 hours are ok but after that it gets repetitive and boring. Story is mediocre and not well written and side quests are bang average. Parkour and slicing zombies is fun. I'd recommend the game only on sale.

    The game as a sequel to the first part is full of **** the eyes at the end bled out from the tension
    of the plot, bugs, game mechanics, pumping system, stuff all flawed
    of the pluses for which I put 5 I can single out, the average Parkour can run the plot, the interface is gorgeous, the sound is gorgeous
    the game for 1 time is average wild, disappointed I love the first part

Играл только ради того чтобы уничтожить весь город, чтобы хоть как то отыграться на всех мерзких персонажах, что собственно я и сделал.     Juego del montón , con controles que son bastante macarrón e incomodos sobretodo en el parkour y con el parapente que es penoso de lo mal que se controla. Historia aburrida a la que pronto no le prestas nada de atencion y misiones suicidas en las que como siempre le toca hacer todo al prota mientras el resto de supervivientes se rasca bien los huevos = pesimo guión.

    I played the game about 5 months after the release and I don't know why are the reviews so low. I haven't played the first installment which may be the reason why I think really highly of this one. The city felt overall immersive there is a ton of side content and the main story quests were very well done by my standards.     Worse combat, less gore, less impact, more click spamming
    Worse zombie variety and amount, the whole city is pretty empty and populated by what feels like 3 zombie models
    Worse parkour, its floaty as hell like the game is holding your hand harder now The factions are just npcs you cant interact with other than being attacked on sight The map is dumb as hell, full of big ass trees

    The map is dumb as hell, full of big ass trees growing straight out of thin concrete roofs, this is what these brainlets think would happen to a city in just a few years lmao

    What they did to this game was add a stamina bar to make the climbing more annoying, a timer to prevent you from staying out all night long because the night is as bright as the day, and copy the settlements from Far Cry, they did literally nothing to improve upon the first game. My rating should be lower but it is still an kinda enjoyable dumber version of a great game.

Techland не смогли нормально раскрыть персонажей, и та же смерть Фрэнка, которая должна была по задумке сценаристов вызвать грусть, на самом деле дала ноль эмоций. Добавили Русскую озвучку, но во многом карявую. Напившаяся Лоан разговаривала как трезвая, ОЧЕНЬ много мата, который в некоторых местах неуместен и абсурден. В некоторых моментах кажется, будто только актёр озвучки, чьим голосом говорит Эйден, выкладывается по полной, что нельзя сказать про всех. Продолжать этот список можно до бесконечности, но я могу лично от себя заявить, что это, во первых далеко не то, что нам показывали в старых трейлерах, где та же Лоан выглядит посимпатичнее, город выглядит по другому, а обещанные СОТНИ сюжетных выборов поделили на 10, и во вторых, это далеко не то, чего я ожидал. Я никоим образом не виню Techland за то, что они не умеют читать мысли, но можно было и получше постараться над сюжетом и NPC. За немалые семь лет можно было сотворить игру, схожую по крутости с RDR 2.

    Personally, I liked the game 50/50. If we compare with the first part, then: The graphics are cooler, the map is incredibly cool, a good idea with inhibitors, parkour at a high level. Added blocks in hand-to-hand combat, which were sorely lacking in the prequel. But the fight itself, the physics of bodies leaves much to be desired. NPCs say the same phrases when you approach, which is already starting to make you feel better. The plot is a little sparse, which upsets me. Teckland failed to properly reveal the characters, and the same death of Frank, which according to the idea of the writers was supposed to cause sadness, in fact did not cause any emotions. Added Russian voice acting, but largely free. Drunk Loan talked like a sober woman, a lot of mat, which is sometimes inappropriate and absurd. At some moments, it seems that only the voice actor, whose voice Aiden speaks, gives his best, which cannot be said about everyone. You can continue this list indefinitely, but I personally can say from myself that, firstly, it is far from what we were shown in the old trailers, where the same Loan looks more beautiful, the city looks different, and the promised HUNDREDS of plot options were divided into 10, and secondly, this is far from it what I expected. I don't blame Techland in any way for not being able to read minds, but it was possible to work better on the plot and the NPC. For a considerable seven years, we managed to create a game similar in steepness to RDR 2.

    O jogo tinha de tudo para ser excelente, mas por algum motivo, foi lançado muito antes da hora e totalmente inacabado! Do começo pro meio do jogo, é um ótimo jogo, mas quando vai se aproximando do late game, parece que simplesmente fizeram tudo as pressas e ficou absurdamente horroroso! Os diferentes finais não significam nada, a cena final é mostrada em um slide preto com letreiro e asO jogo tinha de tudo para ser excelente, mas por algum motivo, foi lançado muito antes da hora e totalmente inacabado! Do começo pro meio do jogo, é um ótimo jogo, mas quando vai se aproximando do late game, parece que simplesmente fizeram tudo as pressas e ficou absurdamente horroroso! Os diferentes finais não significam nada, a cena final é mostrada em um slide preto com letreiro e as cinematics são extremamente abaixo da média!     Despite all my complaints, I initially had fun with Dying Light 2. The first quarter of the game was engaging. I think if the rest of the game played like this, I would have way more positive things to say, but the fact is that it’s just not done. This is clearly an unfinished game mired in mismanagement. I don’t blame the developers at all; the leaders and executives behind this work are responsible. What works here is clean and well done, albeit with some boring AAA niceties. After the first quarter or so, though, the game absolutely falls apart in almost every respect. I’m sad for what was produced here, but if I’m being honest, I’m more sad that I invested nearly thirty hours of my own time into this. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

    Dying Light 2 has proven to be a brilliant zombie game, thanks to the great parkour and combat mechanics. The story however is a bit flawed due to some really strange twists.

    There is fun to be had here, but aside from a few moments of joyous parkour, it's the sort of fun you can have in dozens of other open-world games. There is certainly some added fun in co-op with a couple of friends, but in a world where we get another open-world game every week, I just cannot recommend anyone go out and buy Dying Light 2 at full price. Especially not when it came out right before Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring, both of which look far more promising.
