This game is not worth 40 euros, period.

I finished the game in 8 hours, the campaign, and that was being sluggish and doing things outside what I should be doing.
I can easily finish it within 5 hours and that is far to little for this kind of price tag, considering you can get a lot better games for half this price.

The gameplay itself feels very sluggish and siroopie, its slow, and just feels like its been slowed down to extend the lifetime of the game, which I guess should be considered a pro or you would finish it within 2-3hours..
The UI is to big, more then half the screen is cluttered. The 'mouse' (hand) of evil is to large, often clicking on this that are small is a nightmare.

You have spells ,traps, minions, the dungeon and the overworld where you can play with.
Now the dungeon itself is okay, I found that to be okay of Dungeons 1 as well, but the overwold, its the RTS kind of gameplay there and because its so slow you're just waiting more then doing something. It just doesn't work imo.
You have spells, that I barely ever used, this is because probably since the game is ridicules easy, even on impossible. I Cast maybe 1-5 spells per game/map. And always the same for that matter.
Same goes for traps in the dungeon, you only need about 5 to counter everything the AI will trow at you, not particular interesting..
The minions you can summon all have their purpose, but in the end, my armies consist of the same units every time because its just cooky cutter, x beats y, have a mix, you always win against the AI.

Then the two most irritating things about the game... the performance and the narrator thinking he is funny.
The performance is horrible, considering the game already is slow, having 10-50 fps dipping like mad everytime is just wierd. There aren't many creatures on the maps to even consider this kind of performance. To make it worse, my fps didnt change from a R9 280x and a ATI 5870....

The narrator is just annoying, the jokes (and story) are about Game of Thrones, Supernatural, World of Warcraft etc and it gets old fast because it gets predictable. I even turned him off at some points because it was to painful.

Wish I could be more positive but I cannot, good for 10-15 but no way anything higher with the lack of content and issues.

Dungeons 2 has a few unique RTS elements, but is the gameplay balanced and engaging? Let's find out in the Dungeons 2 review.

Dungeons 2 is both a macro and micro management real time strategy game. You start off in the underworld, building up your dungeon. You mine for gold and expansion as you actually carve out the rooms of the dungeon. In most RTS games you are using up real estate on land with your buildings. In Dungeons 2, you're excavating and the remaining space becomes your building or production facility. So you can use a lot of ingenuity when it comes to base building. The game kind of balances between a god game and an RTS as units tend to control themselves, you just put them where you want them to be. As you build up combat units you can put them into the overworld. In the overworld, the game plays more like a traditional RTS game. You'll be raiding enemy bases and following along with missions. There's not that much diversity with the units, each one has a benefit to both the overworld and underworld, but none of them significantly change the balance between you and your enemy.

Dungeons 2 has a very detailed fantasy setting. From the voice acting to the art style and characters, the game is very charming. A rare experience, you get to be the bad guy in this game. You are the ulimate evil leading orcs from the underworld into the world to dominate the land. The narrator is very tongue in cheek and always has witty sayings. It definitely makes you smile and want to keep playing. As you take over parts of the overworld the environment changes and becomes corrupt and decrepit. Even when you forget to follow an objective or lose a crucial unit, the game just laughs at you and encourages you to carry on. Let's not forget, the primary resource for your minions is beer. The fantasy setting and presentation style is one of the highlights of playing Dungeons 2.

The campaign mode is fairly short with only 11 missions in the game, but later missions should take you a while to complete. I wouldn't count on playing multiplayer for too long, because there aren't a ton of people on there. It doesn't even make it on Steam's top multiplayer games list.

Dungeons 2 does have a lot of technical and logistic flaws that prevent the game from being above average. The game is not very intuitive. Certain instructions or mechanics in the game are just not easy to perform or figure out. Micro management in the overworld is missing some control details. It's not easy to select and manipulate individual units for spells or micro movement. In the underworld, it's difficult to select buildings and there's so many different types of selections between units and buildings that it's difficult to know where you are or where you need to go for an upgrade. Furthermore moving units between the overworld and the underworld gets confusing because they must enter through a portal. You also have 2 minimaps to watch and occasionally during the campaign your units will even enter a third unmapped area. All of these negative aspects can make the game cumbersome to play.

Dungeons 2 does have a lot of charm in the campaign mode and the underworld vs overworld setting is a unique approach to real time strategy. The game retails at $40 which is more than I would expect to pay for this game. If you are a hardcore RTS fan or you want to try something a little different, you may want to give Dungeons 2 a playthrough. Dungeons 2 receives a score of 70 for it's presentation and new gameplay elements.

The concern is that also there is no bots, so the game faces a pretty huge lack on content in this regard... at least for now.

The graphics are pretty, one of the best in the dungeon management pc games, cartoonish yet stilish. Bad thing is that every creature is just a clone (there's no individual variation for example) but they are overall nice and with good personality.

Now we'll get where it hurts. The main flaw i see to this game (and i hope it is fixed fast) is the AI.At this moment, the AI is dumb when he's auto-controlling your creatures. For example, ranged creatures tend to go to melee range and get slaughtered. Other example: one creature has a CC channeled spell and a heal, yet in combat it will prioritice CC over healing -even if you just don't want it to be that way.

The overworld part is pretty good. A little bit like Warcraft 3 but with worse control over the units , tho developers said that this were going to get addressed.

In general, i'd say that this game can be good. Really good. At this moment it has flaws, but the mechanics behind the whole concept are brilliant and hopefully, patches will keep roling and fixing the only thing that make this game unperfect.

True to the spirit of Dungeon Keeper, fun to play, great music and full of little monsters eager to please the evil mastermind (you), but in need of some control refinements that would make it a perfect game. Nevertheless it's still a diamond and for me, it's the first game after DK that gives you the same dungeon management feeling.

The narrator is the same as in the Stanley's Parabola game. He reads his lines pretty well, it's just that the jokes themselves are a bit too frequent. Also, some jokes may contain cultural references with which you might not be familiar. The narrator is really great and brings both the story and hearty sayings in between well, Game of Thrones, WarCraft, Super Natural and many other characters or stories also appear in the narrative of Dungeons 2, and cause laughter, I had really fun to play with.

However, you can play through the basic story within 10-15H, after that you only have to chase the achievements or try the multiplayer where there are unfortunately cheaters and lags and the problem of finding an opponent at all. With a friend, on the other hand, via LAN (tunngle, Hamachi) or over the Internet, the multiplayer is also fun.

The DLCs offer further stories or content but are too high in terms of pricing.
