The core issues with this game are:
-The INSANE amount of loading screens you have to go through just to play a match, not to mention how long they are (not a problem on PC if using an SSD)
-The delay based netcode infrastructure is VERY prone to eating inputs, so sometimes you'll do a quarter circle, but get a down forward or down back and drop the combo -Same-rank ranked mode is kinda

-Same-rank ranked mode is kinda dead from Super Saiyan God rank onwards, if you want to play against other players you have to configure your matchmaking settings to allow you to fight people regardless of rank or connection

This game's multiplayer was at it's peak during season 2, now instead of guaranteed offense and oki everyone picks a team of 3 characters with invincible reversals and mashes during strings. Now you have to guess during YOUR offense whether they're mashing DP, Light, Level 3, or vanish and the whole meta game revolves around that mentality now that oki is non-existent since the snap meta is dead. It also doesn't help that most level 3s oki got nerfed into the dirt besides base vegeta for whatever reason.

The story mode is kinda worthless tbh, only reason to do it ever is if you really want android 21, but don't have the zeni to unlock her from the shop.

Party mode and arena matches WERE full of players when season 3 launched, but have since died out.

TL;DR is game is kinda dead and the netcode is delay based, story mode is terrible, and the season 3 changes made it to where when doing just a basic blockstring against anyone with invincible reversals you're playing RPS on what they'll spam mid-string or you lose your turn.

I feel like a lot of fanboys are giving positive reviews just because it's labeled as "Dragon Ball" but sadly, I feel like this is one of the worst fighting games i've ever played. Sure there are a lot of contents outside the fights, but people buy it to actually fight not run around in a town looking flashy.
So what I mostly hate about it is that majority of your abilities are locked

So what I mostly hate about it is that majority of your abilities are locked behind combo's where each character has only 2 abilities which can be used at any time.
It feels like all characters are similar to each other and that the abilities are just "filler" spells as everything is connected to combo's only.

Game is a bad clone of guilty gear. Has minor depth, few things to do, and really expensive dlc for nothing. Avoid it.

This game is complete cancer. I am really dissapointed that people love this game even though it’s quite possible the cheapest most badly designed fighting game ever maybe. It is awful, if your opponent gets the first hit that’s it the match is over no matter how much you block you can’t do anything and you can’t bring any partner in it is literally impossible to win at this game kf youThis game is complete cancer. It is awful, if your opponent gets the first hit that’s it the match is over no matter how much you block you can’t do anything and you can’t bring any partner in it is literally impossible to win at this game kf you are not lucky. It a twitch fighting game whose only purpose of existance is to milk the Dragon Ball community because it is clearly not a good game and if it was a brand new IP it would have been laughed out of the room but because it’s Dragon Ball everyone is in love with it even though it is a total piece of cheap unfair crap. One of the biggest wastes of money I have ever experienced. And people will just spread their toxicity when you make these complaints and just tell you to “git gud” which is absolute cancer and shows how toxic the people that actually like this trash are. No person in their right mind that loves video games and even fighting games would like this hot garbage. Stay away and don’t make the same mistake I made. Expand

The controls for this game are horrid, the buffer system does not register inputs constantly leading to failed blocks and dropped combos because of the games inability to deliver a solid control scheme on PC, avoid this like the plague or get it on sale.

I ain't bouta make an essay bout how horrible the multiplayer but know that if you buy this game and try to play multiplayer at first its fun but then it gets horrible and its full of tryharders that are prolly on stereoids or some **** so id recommend only playing the story mode which is alr, multiplayer is the ****tiest thing this game has to offer

An excellent fighting game, even if you're not a fan of Dragon Ball. [Issue#270, p.54]

Polished, fast, over-the-top and most of all fun, Dragon Ball FighterZ is a fighting game worth more than just a passing glance. Its lengthy campaign alone will keep you glued to the action for a while, but its other gameplay options and Dragon Ball universe depth make it something of a must own -- whether your DBZ fan alumni, or fighting game guru. One of the year’s excellent fighting game releases.

This fighter looks great, sounds better, having enough depth and complexity to warrant its asking price. Every detail is tended to, which makes fun, challenging gameplay that is easy to learn but hard to master.
