Nov 14, 2024Dragon Age: The Veilguard fails to live up to its predecessors and ranks among the worst in its genre and the franchise. Despite its potential and success with gender diversity, its attempt to modernize feels poorly executed. Visually, it’s pleasant, but it requires adjusting settings for optimal performance. It’s playable but it is best suited for people who aren't particularly interested in the plot or story.

Nov 10, 2024Dragon Age: The Veilguard misses the essence of earlier Dragon Age games, turning the dark fantasy world into a childish fairytale with shallow dialogue and limited, impactless choices. The game is linear and fails to honor the rich lore, intriguing characters, and complex choices the franchise is known for. Although the combat is smooth and visually impressive, it lacks depth and doesn’t fit the world.

Jan 2, 2025Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a true tour de force from a company that knew it had to give its all to stay relevant thirty years after its founding—and it has undoubtedly succeeded. [Recommended]

Oct 28, 2024There is so much else that is impressive and charming about Veilguard. The absurdly elaborate and expensive finales that cap off companion questlines; lavish, unique areas rolled out for a visit or two then never again. How story moments of real threat and menace stopped me in my tracks, because it turned out that Bioware wasn’t disinterested in this stuff, just saving it for when it really counted. The fantastic prose and worldbuilding in the huge glossary, filled as you find notes and items.
