The best from WoW and the best from DAO - yes i like it!.

The tactical camera you have to master, but just scroll up, then you can get tactical - Then there are all the layer of gaming to do like the war board, site guest etc.

I' am still in the Hinterlands and starting my Inquisition!

This is a great crpg. Aside from the mediocre KBAM controls this game is very solid. You can easily burn 100 hours in your first play through and if you like this type of game you will be playing it more than once. Have fun

First of all, I have only about 10 hours into this game, which is still inadequate to give a satisfactory review. Therefore, my review is still in progress. I'm posting this now because of my success story of ignoring the incredibly low-scored reviews and purchasing the game to find out for myself. Let me begin with the first noticeable category:

Graphics - 8.5/10; Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Having said that, anyone can watch a youtube video and develop said opinion and post about it. Here is my experience: I am running this game on a gtx 980 to get the full effect. The environment lighting and distant lods are beautiful. However, the textures up close aren't the sharpest. I must say I enjoy the art style of the game, even the animations that some are deeming unacceptable. My frame rates are pretty consistent at 60 fps, but the game lags and stutters just a tad during the cut scenes. This brings me to the next category:

Story (so far) - 9.0/10: The story telling can't be respectfully rated by one person. I can only give you my opinion on how it has been done 10 or so hours into the game. There is a great deal to read early on in the game. My experience is this: I read what I can during the down time in the game, and skim through during fast paced sections. This adds onto the well acted dialogue scenes and musical atmosphere. I love the rpg element that lets me know if my party approves or disapproves my choices in dialogue, keeping my decisions at bay as to whether I act selfishly or with others in mind. With that said, there are some typical cliches and a few poorly written lines. These don't bother me much, as I look toward the bigger meaning of the whole conversation. I won't know how much my decisions play into the story line until I finish and begin again. Finally, the most meaningful category:

Gameplay - 9.5/10: The gameplay is satisfactory. It is just that, nothing more and nothing less. It is fun at times, and repetitive at others. Although, it is random when these fun/repetitive events occur. I find myself pleased at staying back and blasting enemies as a mage strategically using AOE spells. Other times I find myself just holding the attack and letting my teammates finish the job. I actually liked the latter at times. This gave me a break when potions were running low or when I felt like pushing through the story quest. About the mechanics: At first, I had a difficult time switching characters in the midst of battle. Changing roles from a mage to a warrior to a rogue and so on. Learning the different strategies was pleasing, but interrupted the flow. The AI was better than me at their own characters, so I stuck to mine for most of the beginning. After becoming familiar with the different strategies and character abilities, I was enjoying the pure fun of an rpg based strategy-chess-board-style battle with the strategic view. I can't seem to pull away from the addiction of Dragon Age: Inquisition. I could ramble on about the fun I'm having, but I won't bore you who's reading this right now. If anything, I hope this review helps those who are struck by the amounting negative reviews posted. Give the game an extended go, and you won't be disappointed.

I don't get what everyone is complaining about. Sure, the game has issues but it's one of the best RPG i've played in the past 3 years. So far (15 hours in) the story is great and i've enjoyed the quests in the zones (mainly hinterlands), doesn't matter if it's pick this up or kill this. Great game, it's a solid 8/10.

Probably the best rpg I have played for 10 years along with Skryim.
The only negative is party members can be a bit dim, it would be nicer if there where more options to control their tactics.

Also, taking off for challenging controls and missing rpg or convenience features like walking, loot all, etc. I eventually got used to the PC controls but really missed the fluidity of DAO.

Now for the positives. This is an excellent game. I felt like I have all the times I have played DAO. There is not only a lot to do but a ton of little nice touches. Even the lesser NPCs have interesting moments. Despite having 144hrs playtime, I was no where near finishing everything.

Have enjoyed it so much started a new playthrough. This is typical for me on games and rpgs especially that I love. It is surprising to me how much different my experience is from first character. The world is reacting differently to me. Yes, the core theme and story milestones are the same. But my change in background and dialogue has given the experience a different tone. I even have new missions and quests that I did not get in the first game. If you loved DAO, then you will love DAI.

Dragon Age Inquision fleshes out the lore of Thedas more than any game so far, allowing you to visit starkly contrasting and beautifully designed areas across the continent. The world of Thedas is original - it takes the classic fantasy ideas of elves, dwarves, etc and adds its own twist. Let's face it, it's D&D without the trademark, so Bioware can do whatever they want, and they sure have. It's a pleasure to explore.

I haven't completed it but the way inquisition introduce you the world is quite straightforward. Although i liked this approach. You will be in control of your character just 5 to 10 mins after finishing character cuatomization and just 1 to 2 min later you will be fighting demons.
Gameplay is fun and the world is huge but not perfectly open like skyrim. But it is huge and have alot of things to do.
Best part of the game is its graphics. DA Inquisition looks damn good. Better than any other RPG. From you skin to your armor, from terrain to trees everything look breathtaking.

    It's a good game.

I've glanced at other reviews. They're a whole lot of "DA:I isn't DA:O!" and "DA:I isn't X and/or Y!" I agree, but that's not what Bioware ever claimed either. In addition, many people feel they have played enough of the game after ~5 hours to form an opinion. For most games, this is fine. For DA:I, that is barely the prologue of the game. The voice acting is superb and the lip sync is excellent.
Each character you meet is colourful and interesting.
There are hundreds of quests to do and many are very interesting and highly intricate.
There's lots to see and collect. You will constantly get side-tracked into doing other things because there's just so much!
The world design is absolutely stunning. Honestly it left me stunned at how beautiful some areas are. There's also a lot of diversity in the locations, from vast deserts and burried ruins, to huge rolling hills and forest to stormy coasts and rocky hills.
The story is superb and offers many different and important choices along the way.
The game is highly polished, there are so many little details that I couldn't even write them all in this review but if you play it and pay attention to things in the game you will know. It's these little details that make the game.
The music and sound effects are above exceptional.
Armour and equipment crafting is simple yet very diverse and intriguing. The look and colour of crafted equipment even looks different depending on the material you use! If you use blue velvet your equipment is going to have blue velvet on it! It's very well done.
There are no bugs I've noticed in over 100 hours of play time. Except for minor graphical issues like NPCs walking on thin air, but they go away promptly.

To give you an idea about how good this game is, I played it for 30 hours and only finished Chapter 1! I then promptly made a new character just so I could play Chapter 1 all over again! I've never ever done anything like that in a game before. That just shows how fantastical this game is.

After over 60 hours of game play I can say that this is by far the best RPG I have played in a long time (not 1I've never written a game review on MC before but I decided to create an account and write one for this game. DA Inquisition is another Bioware game I purchased that was worth it's weight in gold. I read all these bad reviews and can't help but say to myself "get a gaming controller for pc." Yes playing with mouse and keyboard is annoying and the controls are Bonky to say the least. Spend a little bit of cash to grab a PC gaming controller and this game is absolutely phenomenal. I loved DA Origins and I feel this game is equally as good if not better.

Great story, fun dialog, fun quests, great crafting, Great cut scenes, Awesome fighting, Amazing character customization and many more great components. I felt that I could really get into my character and immerse myself in a fantasy world within the dragon age universe (even more so then the previous DA's).

Bottom line: If you loved origins, you have a gaming controller or are looking to purchase one, and you're not a whinny Cheetos eating "I hate the world and everything in it" type... You'll love this game and it's Role playing elements. I'd buy it two more times over if I had to and still love it.

The game itself is just gorgeous and expansive. I feel as if it is somewhat of a 3rd person Skyrim.
There is tons to do and the story is spread out across this massive place that is just filled with life and atmosphere.
I for one am very pleased they ditched all the clunky stuff from the previous titles. I actually feel like I am playing the characters and I am not caged into the small KOTOR 1-2 sized worlds. I do think the party options for ai should be expanded on a little but so far the game has been bug free for me.

The controls are standard fare for most ARPG/Shooter/mmo fans with a few extra keys.
The characters are awesome and I love the cassandra chick you meet, she is voiced very well IMO.
Character customization is better than it has ever been for any DA game, I felt there were a lot of options and you could make an attractive character unlike the others. I also like that this time our pc has a voice and is not the Silent Bob in the room. Worth a go for any lover of open world games especially in the RPG genre.

There are downsides to the game obviously, combat in my opinion is really good but tactical camera is clunky, there are some stability issues but that is to be expected for a game this big on the first week of release on 4 consoles as well as PC. Animations can be a bit stiff at times, but the character models are gorgeous, and all in all the game just blew me away.

After the whole debacle with ME3, and DA2 being a bit disappointing, this game just made it all better. Don't get me wrong I love DA2, but this is what I would expect out of a dragon age game. I bought the Deluxe edition and I would gladly get the collector's edition if I could, sadly it isn't sold in my country.

For example one quest has you collect ram meet for a starving village, so you have to collect some ram meat. All of these quests are optional as well. performance wise I can run this game at 60+ FPS constantly with a 970 and 4790k both over clocked at right around ultra settings. Its an awesome game. I spend € 60 and enjoy any penny of it. I play it on PC and it works good. Yes you see its developed for console but the adjustments they made recently are good.

I think this game got such bad reviews by player because of the bad pc controls. Well they fixed it now and what is left is a jewel of a RPG. I love the story so far and character builds. I spend every

Glad I didn't follow user reviews on this one. Best RPG I've played to-date, and I am a RPG-aholic. Really feels like a combination of the Elder Scrolls games (big, immersive, sandbox world to explore), the Dragon Age games (fantastic character development/narratives), and Diablo games (twitch combat and progressively-opening lands to explore). I'm less psyched about the twitchy combat, it's the one element of the Dragon Age universe I feel took a step backwards into "we're a console-driven world now!" territory, and detracts from the overall experience (hence my subtraction of one star). But that's not enough to throw the baby out with the bathwater, as so many user reviewers are doing. Yes, Dragon Age has slid away from traditional AD&D components into more console gaming components (as is every other non-indie RPG these days), which basically means more button-mashing, less strategy, but if you can look past this, you will find a world that is enormous, probably the most exploration-worthy world of any RPG to date (including the Elder Scrolls games where you could explore vast stretches without finding anything of note). The graphics, animations, textures, and character and loot models are definitely next-gen, and although there are a few missteps (yes, if you turn the graphics down, the characters get a glossy sheen to them) - but this is a game clearly designed for modern graphics cards and a fairly robust PC. The game is huge, you can pump 200 hours into it easily, which FINALLY puts the DA franchise in the same ballpark as the Elder Scrolls games. The writing is good and the biggest challenge, particularly for players new to the universe, is the overwhelming amount of lore. But for any true RPG'er, this is a positive. You get to feel truly powerful in this game, too, as your character goes from a lowly nobody to a commander of the biggest force in the world, with an enormous fortress to add to and decorate. You also now command two groups of characters - the teammates, as with every other Dragon Age game, whose stories open up and get deeper as you progress - and your advisers, a group of folks who bring stealth, politics, and brute force to the bigger picture and help open up new sections of the map to explore. I'm 70 hours in and I haven't even opened up every map yet. This might just be the greatest RPG made to-date, don't let user reviews talk you out of purchasing the game. It certainly hits all my RPG buttons. Haven't even looked at any of my other games since I got it. Totally immersed and addicted. And, as in all DA games, what you did in the previous games effects what happens in the bigger picture of this game as well. In fact, you might just run into some of your own characters from previous games! Big thumbs up. Expand

It's one of the most immersive games that I have ever played. The details of the cliffs display a real risk of falling to your death. The storyline has a very Occult feel to it. The sacrifices that we make in our decisions are really difficult to make in the moment.

The only things that I do not like are the time wasting controls in the game. In game we can close up rifts and decipher constellations and open up encrypted doors under time constraints. But climbing a simple mound completely stumps us.

    It doesn't make sense.

Also, some of the sacrifices we make are so intense that I'd rather have another option. I don't like losing party members that I believe are critical to the flow of the game and the intensive immersion and time wasting of the game itself, will only make me want to play it once. For a person playing this game casual, they could easily play it for 3 years and never fully complete the game itself.

It would be nice to have better save points in the game in order to be able to back track on a decision made previously in a split moment.

This is my first review of a game and only reason is to combat some of the unfairly negative reviews this game seems to be getting. The graphics are amazing and runs smoothly with never going below 40 fps easily give them a 9.5/10.

The story line seems ok so far i would give it around 7/10. The dialogue between you and the npc's is done very well and would rate that 9/10. The camera angles can be a tad buggy and odd at times which can hurt during a fight especially if your controlling a melee character, i will give that 6/10 hopefully a patch will come out that will allow you to zoom out a bit more.

The being able to control all 4 party members and switch thru them is a huge learning curve but becomes way more enjoyable the more i play it. The fight mechanics seems solid, i am playing on normal difficulty which is a little to easy but works for trying to learn the game. The gathering of resources hasn't been to tedious and is almost a instant grab unlike with skyrim the pickaxe came out to mine. The sonar system really comes in handy to make sure there isn't any loot or herbs or other misc items that may be hidden. You can set up your own way-points and fast travel which is very convenient and saves time. The journal and quest log is nice not great but you know what you have to do and highlights where nicely enough for you. The beginning area feels a little closed in, however im sure that is because its more of a training area. Once you venture out to other areas it really opens up and you can almost do what you want. Interaction with objects is not great would like to be able to move more stuff or break stuff but it doesn't take away from the game as much as you would think.

When you switch to tactical mode it pauses the game which is handy to plan out your fight, however i end up just playing in 3rd person view most of the time and don't use the tactical mode often. There is no first person view as well but that's ok with me. Overall i have played around 8 hours so far and am very entertained and I have not even completed 10% of the game.

I think many of these negative reviews have been put on here way to quickly, if i was to give a review the first couple hours of this game i probably would have given it a 5/10, because honestly its hard to get used to the game-play and camera control however now i am at the point to where i am really enjoying the game and its mechanics and really think this game should be around a 9/10. Great game to play during the holidays.

Despite numerous shortcomings, the new BioWare project is undoubtedly worth your attention. One of the best RPGs of 2014.
