But still, they made it possible to find more ways to experience the gameplay with new additions of enemies and traversal stuff. Visually amazing in the levels and challenging with the escalation gore nests... which I would have loved to see more of them. And the final boss would be the terror for journalists. An amazing last prom before graduation. And the ost really surpassed the expectations with more amazing sounds to accompany the gameplay. To conclude thanks to Hugo and the whole id team for everything this game has done during this terrible year. You deserve all my respect.

Update: After spending some time and confronting other issues I have to tone down my vote because of downgrades made for TAG1 which I really don't appreciate. I spent a year with this game and I'm pretty much a noob quite honestly but to see some shady nerfs to some of the demons just to bring the inexperienced players in when there is an entire campaign to challenge and teach them, it's just not right. Hopefully, I will fix this review if they address all this. I still love you guys...but a bit less.

Update 2: Hugo is a sweetheart and knows which buttons to push when he speaks. In this last stream, he addressed the community for both kinds of players, starters, and professionals. Some stuff is going to be reverted for TAG1 and some will stay to kill some tedious corners that many players hated. I'm popping up more points for you boys because my firsts statement is standing still.. It's not easy to release stuff in a short period of time. Love ya

A very enjoyable campaign, I found it to be of about the same level of quality as the main game. The new enemy types offer some amount of variety to the encounters, though a few of them interrupted the flow of gameplay a bit too much, leading to frustration. The platforming sections are the strongest ones yet, and are legitimately quite fun. The final boss is pretty good, it's not exceptionally challenging and is a bit repetitive, but still works fairly well and is satisfying enough. I do wish the storytelling of Eternal was a bit more in line with 2016's, as the order of events and lore get a bit convoluted in the DLC. The elaborate cutscenes and somewhat intricate narrative are enjoyable certainly, but I found 2016's method of storytelling to be more fitting for the series. Expand

I’m only rating this a 10 because people are being pathetic and review bombing this DLC because it didn’t cater to the hard core players. I’ve beaten every UN mode, and I still had fun with this expansion. Too mellow, definitely, but still fun. My real score would be a 7.5/10

Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, and the Ancient Gods DLCs are some of the best games I've ever played. I've enjoyed every minute of the time I've put into them. These games are shining examples of what happens when highly skilled developers take the time to truly understand their audience. Highly recommended.

this is awesome, an incredible and difficult fight against the dark lord, with an amazing revelation very important for the lore, and of course, a very cery good ending. There's a lot of good fights in the whole dlc and beautiful scenarios

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well, this DLC alot easier than first.
Dark Lord turned out to be weaker than everyone thought. Dark Lord is like Big Marauder - beat him when eyes flash green.
Valen Hammer is good and OP mostly, but very fun to use.

Slayer was buried in the same sarcophagus that was in the beginning of DOOM 2016.
    Ended where it began.

    Slayer's time over.
    For now.

This is a good DLC. Even though it did not go in the direction I personally wanted it to go, it is still a very fun and satisfying game. The story is really good and the combat is still the great combat we have come to expect from Doom. Overall, very good.

It’s a worthy finale to Slayer’s gory odyssey, but I must admit that while Part One left me hungry for more, I was a bit tired by the end of Part Two. Still, you should definitely play it if you’re a fan of Doom. [05/2021, p.53]

This underwhelming finale to the rebooted Doom saga would be limp enough when judged on its own merits, but the fact that the developers went back and screwed around with what made The Ancient Gods, Part One work so well is criminal. This expansion is more Doom Eternal, which should be a good thing, but turns out to be the weakest and most disappointing that Doom Eternal has ever been.

DOOM Eternal The Ancient Gods Part Two is a great finale story-wise, but when it comes to gameplay it is rather disappointing. The few new enemies and mechanics feel shallow and the actual final boss fight is a flop compared to what we've gotten in Eternal and the previous installment of DOOM. So just like Doomguy, we'll patiently have to wait until we can get going again because there's an itch that needs scratching.
