Disintegration is a unique experiment, that blends two different genres in an interesting way. You have to accept a few compromises, but both the campaign and the multiplayer modes offers lots of action with just enough depth.

It is exciting to play a shooter, it is a satisfying to play strategy game. Doing both things at the same time, it is just glorious. Disintegration is extremely balanced for being the first take at this new genre, and it is very well polished, too. The worldbuilding is fascinating, the story is not too bad, but the writing of characters and dialogues is terrible. Luckily the game is just so good.

An intelligent shooter with smart RTS elements, especially for solo players. Although the innovative scenario would have deserved a better story.

Disintegration is a game of, and about, duality. It manages to feel like a throwback while it's fresh genre melding brings it straight into the present. It's an occasionally lifeless, mechanically sound construct, but everything about it has heart. It's a double A game, the likes of which we don't often see anymore, and it's one of the most unique and consistently enjoyable sci-fi shooters of recent years.

Disintegration is a somewhat fractured experience. The game’s quirky combination of shooter and strategy mechanics works, and multiplayer is a lot of frantic fun, but its single-player campaign suffers from some oversights, technical issues, and monotonous design. If Disintegration is a hit, I suspect it will be for its multiplayer, so while I’m being a bit conservative with my score now, the game will hopefully hover to new heights as PvP content is added. Whether you want to jump on your Gravcycle now is up to you.

Disintegration's campaign is a robot-smashing romp, but multiplayer appears to be dead on arrival.

V1 Interactive's debut work is a successful hybrid between FPS and RTS with an intriguing plot and a good artistic direction.

The campaign's variety in gameplay style, squad loadouts, and setting are all meant to serve as introductions to the online multiplayer suite. I'll be diving into more multiplayer over the next week as currently, there aren't enough reviewers playing to regularly populate lobbies.

Flying around and giving orders to cool-looking robots is a neat concept, but the simple shooting and squad management of Disintegration’s single-player campaign make it fall pretty flat after a while. The surprising lack of customization and progression make the battles feel disconnected outside of the story, which has some decent characters but is otherwise a pretty straightforward rebellion against evil robot overlords. [Single-Player review score = 60]
  5. Disintegration has a lot of room for improvement, but I enjoyed my time with it, and it succeeds in finding a balance between its shooting and strategic elements. It’s the kind of game I hope gets a sequel, one which is bolder in pursuing its ideas, and not just in its character names.

The graphics are cartoonish kinda reminds me some old games from the PS3 era very uninspired. Feels like a poor attempt to compete against Bungie's Destiny Full Review »

I wish there was more strategy to the game, and to feel that my decisions to have bigger impact on the flow of the battle. The game is good, it's not perfect, the developer team is small but it seems a promising first game on this series. The concept of controlling an anti gravity bike is really cool and fun to see the battlefield from this POV. Give it a try. Full Review »
