Oct 23, 2021Disciples is back with a very interesting and lengthy campaign and addictive turn-based battles. A clear recommendation if you are interested in this genre.

Oct 22, 2021Disciples: Liberation is a fantastic experience. From the engaging story to the deep but approachable Strategy RPG combat, this is the type of game to suck players in until the wee hours of the morning. There aren't many games like Disciples: Liberation on the market these days, especially when the old champion, Might and Magic, has become an autobattler. Disciples: Liberation a welcome breath of fresh air that delivers hope for the future of the Strategy RPG genre.

Game World Navigator MagazineFeb 7, 2022Liberation severed all ties with Disciples’ strategic heritage. There’s only one playable faction, and our capital exists in a separate dimension so it never gets attacked. The resources are abundant, units and items are cheap, and fights are easy, so that nothing would distract the player from following the story. [Issue#258, p.58]

Dec 12, 2022Disciples: Liberation brings some interesting new ideas to the series, but that doesn’t mean they’re all good. I didn’t like the fact that the game forces you to choose between the bad guy and the very bad guy by making choices that many times don’t make sense. In the end, Liberation is saved by the incredibly well-done tactical combat system that provide a lot of fun, especially when you find that combo that wipes out almost all enemies on the map in just one turn. Although it’s not really what I expected, I believe Disciples: Liberation is worth playing and definitely warrants a sequel.

Oct 21, 2021Disciples: Liberation is a unique combination of turn-based strategy and real-time RPG. The game features interesting gameplay hooks that could redefine the genre in long-term perspective.

Oct 21, 2021A world-spanning epic with a meaty, varied and satisfying strategy battle system. While it takes a while for the steam engine that is Discples: Liberation to pick up speed, once it’s off, the journey is well worth taking.

Oct 21, 2021Disciples: Liberation is a tactical RPG in which you will have to make many decisions that will lead to different endings. However, and despite being a very complete game in terms of mechanics and details, with a good number of dialogue options, its long duration ends up taking its toll. The overexposure of its mechanics of alliances with the different factions of the game and, above all, the little challenge that its fights end up supplying as soon as you focus on doing something other than its main campaign, weigh down too much the experience of a title that goes from more or less. It would be a total recommendation if they had focused more on creating a tactical challenge to match and less on filling in hours of gameplay in missions that often appear little contextualized for what CRPG lovers demand.
