    Disciples: Liberation is a vast turn-based/ RPG/ city management hybrid that would have been great if some aspects of the game were trimmed down. The core ideas behind the gameplay are implemented well. Skills, units, battle mechanics, dialog choices are classy. On the other hand, the writing is juvenile and the low level of challenge can make the game feel tedious.

    Disciples: Liberation takes us on an epic adventure through a Dark Fantasy world that is filled with conflict and pain. The compelling narrative, characters and the tough decisions you have to make again and again to balance your standing in the four factions are what drives this game forward. The gameplay alone wouldn’t be able to motivate us for the 80 hour adventure, it is just to simple. The combat rarely presents a challenge and with the abundance of resources loses are easily replaced. We still had a lot of fun, since the roleplay aspect of the game works well enough.

    Good writing but the rest is sub-par. In particular, the tiny size of combat arenas makes any attempt of strategizing utterly irrelevant.

    An overly simplified simplification that winks at the audience of casual players displeasing the old ones is at the same time the cross and the delight of the new chapter of Disciples. Other than this, the "role-playing" developments of the plot could have been more effective.

    Disciples: Liberation is a tactical RPG in which you will have to make many decisions that will lead to different endings. However, and despite being a very complete game in terms of mechanics and details, with a good number of dialogue options, its long duration ends up taking its toll. The overexposure of its mechanics of alliances with the different factions of the game and, above all, the little challenge that its fights end up supplying as soon as you focus on doing something other than its main campaign, weigh down too much the experience of a title that goes from more or less. It would be a total recommendation if they had focused more on creating a tactical challenge to match and less on filling in hours of gameplay in missions that often appear little contextualized for what CRPG lovers demand.

    Not only this game is very mediocre and you'll skip most non-quest battle because you will overpower enemies too much. Not to mention mechanics from Idle mobile game that has absolutely no place in single-player tactical games. For example you need to wait in real time for resources production and login to collect resources now and then otherwise they will stop producing after a short while

    The decision to ban this game for almost 1 months after release in 12 countries for no good reason just stupid.
    Also there are many reports that people who bough game outside of Steam/Epic are now not able to see their game in their libraries at all...

    The only nice thing this game has is graphics, but music, story, characters are meh, and combat fells good for an hour or two, but then feels too repetitive and slow so you'll skip all battles you can skip (and that would be more than 50% of all battles outside quests)

    For CIS countries this game is accurately 0/10 at all as it is unplayable for stupid reason that they did no finished voiceover in a language that is foreign for 11 of 12 of banned countries. Like imaging delaying game in USA or Europe because they did not finish Chinees voiceover meanwhile releasing game with English voiceover in Asia... brain dead stupidity!    … Full Review »
