    Ignore the folks who are review bombing it -- this is a great game.

    Yes, it's a visual novel with tactical RPG battles. If you don't like reading, it's ok to not play it. If you *do* like reading, though, the dialogue and story are great.

    I think this game is probably gonna be fairly divisive, since it's a diversion from the digimon games that folks are often familiar with (Cyber Sleuth or World), but I think it's a great takeon Digimon. The visual novel format really fits the themes of Digimon, and the sort of Mass Effect like mechanics for morality and companion relationships really fit well.

    The characters and story    I think this game is probably gonna be fairly divisive, since it's a diversion from the digimon games that folks are often familiar with (Cyber Sleuth or World), but I think it's a great takeon Digimon. The visual novel format really fits the themes of Digimon, and the sort of Mass Effect like mechanics for morality and companion relationships really fit well.

    This is my favorite recent Digimon game so far. It is in a visual novel format, and it works so well with the story and world they've designed. You unlock free battle pretty early on so you aren't dependent on story beats to get a battle fix in, and it has a pretty well-done auto battle system for when you want to grind but not be fully alert.

If you have ever played an SMT game (but especially the Devil Survivor series), I highly recommend checking this game out. It's slightly more simple than SMT:DS, but it has a charm to it that more than makes up for it.

    Great game. It was correctly advertised as a vn, and i bought it knowing that, because i greatly enjoy them and it's a very well made one.

    I would give it 7.5 (maybe a bit more).
    The 10 is to compensate those who vote 0 because "It's a VN". Honestly...the developers said 1 MILLION TIMES that this game was 75% VN and 25% SRPG, so if you don't like VN, why buy it??? Anyway...the story is good (with a couple of translation errors and some cheesy dialogue here and there), and i really liked the dark tone in    This is not a 10.
    I would give it 7.5 (maybe a bit more).

    An excellent Digimon game that understands what Digimon is. The evolution system is not only great from the tactical gameplay but also the story itself. You’re choices do have impact on what endings are possible and who survives. I want this to a whole new series of Digimon games

    Its a VN first and tactics game as a distant second. If you don't like that then just ignore, if you do like it you have 4 paths to get lost in depending on choices and a decent cast to get invested in. The game plays out almost as an interactive anime. Only complaint is I wish there were more options for what digimon you could get at the start (ie. have an initial set of options thatIts a VN first and tactics game as a distant second.     This is exatly what i was waiting for. Touchful dramatic story that make me cry a lot. Most emotional digimon game i ever see. I can't believe that people would hate it so bad because of genre.
    Guys if you so obsessed by colleting mosters and fighting them so go play pokemon or else, Digimon are not pokemon-like games, digimon are more than just monsters and fights!     If you don't like orange, don't order orange juice. This is a visual novel, which is a pretty niche genre. If loads of dialogue annoy you, this game simply isn't for you.
    However, if you enjoy Digimon and a pretty good story with (some) decent characters, take it. It's an amazing visual novel and an amazing Digimon game.

    This game is a mind blowing piece of art. The generous developers are charging a mere $60 for this art piece. Are you freaking kidding me? I should have payed more for a game like this. One would assume we would get an experience akin to Pokemon, since Digimon is an enhanced Pokemon, but the developers were too smart for that. The developers are such hard workers, they made the anime in the start a whole 5 minutes. All of the other cutscenes are also great, in a brilliant expression of this game's excellence. The story is biblical. The combat is well made and brilliantly designed. The graphics made me cry due to their beauty when I first saw them. It looks better than a handcrafted painting from Leonardo Da Vinci. The physics are beyond lifelike.

    There is no multiplayer. That is not a problem, because the replay value of this game more than makes up for it. Another great quality of this game is that, all of the characters speak in their original Japanese voice actors, and yet the devs still only charged 60 dollars for this art piece. This incredible generosity enlightens me. I recommend this game to all my friends, family, and more.    … Expand

    This game has a great story and when the battles do come up they're a lot of fun. It's a lot of reading and narrative mostly, but it's all done very well.

    Game is great. Fun srpg-style battle system and a surprisingly mature, well-told story with likeable characters. A few lol-worthy reviews saying that they think this game has too much dialogue when it’s been advertised as largely a visual novel for a huge portion of development. Yes the visual novel has a lot of words.

    Digimon Survive is a Isakai Horror Mystery Visual Novel Fire Emblem monster collection game that is definitely not for young children with choices that lead to a branching story like until Dawn.     Amazing game. A wonderful time sink of emotional story telling, choices to make, engaging battle tactics and digimon collecting. Highly recommended to purchase if you’re a fan of visual novels and/or strategic battle games. Support Digimon!

    I don't want to make a very big text, but I'm really repressed with so many negative reviews, I'd even say it's just one person with multiple accounts.
    The biggest complaints come from the fact that the game is a soap opera, but the company made it clear that it would be and complaining is lack of attention before buying or watching trailers.

    As a novels player, I'm passionate about the plot of this game, sometimes I don't even want to play the gameplay because of the plot, I've played countless novels and this game has a affection and is so well made that for me this game is a 10, it would be a triple A novel in my opinion.     A really good game,I'm not a huge fan of TRPG and VNs,but this game does a good job in both categories,I'm huge digimon fan,and if you are one too,try this game.

    Great game, a compelling story and a solid tactical combat system. Yes, it's a Visual Novel, as they said a hundred times and, if you don't like it, well, go play another game. But if you give Digimon Survive a chance, you'll find a great game.

    The game is great, ignore the negative reviews. They are made by people who clearly dislike reading. This is a visual novel so of course it's going to be text heavy, and that is a good thing since the story is one of the best aspects of Digimon Survive.

    Digimon Survive is an exciting alternate take on the tone and style of the Digimon series. It doesn't execute things flawlessly - those opening chapters are a bit of a chore and the tactics gameplay is simple with a capital 'S'. Still, when things kick off and the story starts to come together, it's a suspenseful and gripping journey that I'm glad I got to experience.

    Blending a pure visual novel with a turn-based tactical RPG combat, Digimon Survive is one of the best surprises of this year so far despite its issues. It is held back by some localization issues, but feels great to play on PC including Steam Deck after a post-launch patch addressed most of the issues. Digimon Survive also serves as a nice entry point into the franchise for newcomers as long as you aren't turned off by the structure.

    Digimon Survive has both a well-made story and a deep combat system that will engage players through each route they may take, but the first few hours are ill-paced with long breaks away from combat.
