  1. It remains more of an uncannily accurate baseball-stat calculator than a game, with virtually no amenities and a punishing interface.

The best features: Very realistic - true to player strengths and weaknesses. Very easy to play. Easy to use features such as importing of teams, players or leagues. DM issues a projection disk at the beginning of each season that presents their best estimate as to the performance of each and every major leaguer as well as hundreds of minor league prospects. It is a great way to play along with the real MLB season. A really great simulation of managing a team through the long summer, complete with realistic fatigue and injury events. Less than great points: The steps necessary to create a player is cumbersome. Sometimes as the season progresses the AI lineups become peculiar. Using the projection disk to play out a season does require some start up time (each roster comes with 32 players on the active roster) Overall, if you are a traditional, stats devouring, baseball fan you will love this game.
