May 15, 2012I signed up for Metacritic so I could voice my displeasure. Seriously Blizzard you didn't prepare yourself for this. Every single news website said that Diablo is the biggest PC pre-order ever, how can a company like Blizzard screw up the release so bad. Unbelievable. As far as rating the game.....I don't know I haven't had the chance to play it yet, your server keeps crashing.

May 17, 2012Not only did Blizzard need 10 years to make this sub-par game, they have made it with MMO's in mind and moved it away from the "true way"of hack'n slash. There is so much info out on this game I feel no need to explain. Everything about it is just wrong. I really hope the way many fans react to this game/launch will teach Blizzard and the gaming industry something.

May 17, 2012Comment peut-on demander une connection permanente a un jeu solo ?! Ceci est tout juste une arnaque,2 jours que j'essaye de me connecter et je n'arrive toujours pas à lancer le jeu!

May 20, 2012This game is more similar to WOW than Diablo 1/2; this game is simply an R rated version of WOW. Everything that i loved about D2 is gone: no skills points, no class builds, no offline version and no players 8 command. This game is simply terrible because so much of the game has been taken from WOW, and i hate WOW.
-
May 20, 2012Game itself is great, unfortunatly its unplayable due to DRM and bad servers on blizzards side. Atm its been down for 5 hours on sunday. No useful eta or information at all.
-
May 20, 2012The curious case of Diablo 3. Often it doesn't even works. When it works, it's not that great. Other games, they say "more of the same". Diablo, the say "Hey it's Diablo". No. It's less of the same.

May 29, 2012Don't waste your time. Way to short, graphics are meh at best, its always down for maintenance (it has not worked at all today not once and its 3 weeks old) hackers up the wazoo, no internet no play (really blizzard REALLY?) Blizzard really **** the bed on this one, got to big for their britches if you ask me. Wait for Torchlight 2 and Guild wars 2, you will thank me.
-
May 31, 2012It seems that every day is a maintenance day at Blizzard (including launch day!); here I am yet again, locked out of the game because another patch is being rolled out. Don't get me wrong, Diablo 3 is fun to play, which is why I'm casting my vote of discontent over the poor management, and horrible service that have made this the most frustrating game I've played in a while.
-
Jun 2, 2012The game itself it's not bad, it's just what one can expect from the third chapter of Diablo series. The bad it's that you PAID a lot for this game, and almost EVERY day you cannot play cause Blizzard isn't able to setup their servers correctly to let players connect and play EVEN in SINGLE PLAYER. This is frustrating. Before buying a Blizzard title think twice. And twice again.
-
Jun 3, 2012A worthy DIablo sequel? No way. A worthy WoW expansion with isometric graphics? Hell yes.
Good: - You don't have to play this.
Bad:
- I had to play this. -
Jun 3, 2012You can't play this game without an internet connection. How stupid is that. I could care less about Battle.Net or playing games online. I won't be spending my money on this game.
-
Jun 3, 2012
-
Jun 3, 2012This isn't diablo. It's WoWablo. Everything is streamlined and itemization sucks balls. They nerf everything through hotfixes like in WoW. There's little build diversity when you get to inferno, even though they boasted 2.8 trillion builds. What a joke.
PS, fire Jay Wilson. -

Jun 7, 20121 word: Boring.
I played for about an hour and a half when I first got the game. I was only touched by 1 monster.
How is that fun? In theory, if I play for 10 or 20 or however many dozens of hours... I can turn up the difficulty. great... fantastic even. Wake me when I get there. -

Jun 11, 2012In a nutshell, I wasted $60 buying this and regret wasting the money. Could have been a really great game like the oldie, but is a clusterfck instead loaded with poor-performance on my high-end pc, and within a few days was trying to think of a reason to login.
-
Jun 13, 2012The worst purchase in years. Technical problems and poor support. But once you get through that, the game is an utter bore. I stuck with it too to find out if it got better. It has to - its Diablo! It doesn't.

Aug 13, 2012It seems to me that Blizzard has so much money to pay critics. It's extremely evident and this is what is wrong with the world we live in. This game is the biggest garbage I've ever played. DRM nuff said...
-
Jul 12, 2012I'm disapointed to see how not original Blizzard has been. The game is not really different than its previous versions and it does not worth the bucks. real money auction house is also a joke...
-
Dec 30, 2012As a long-time Blizzard fan I am dismayed, disappointed and ultimately shocked that Blizzard could betray its entire long-standing Diablo fanbase. The game is an absolute disgrace and anyone who says otherwise is desperate and is living in denial.
After completing the game with one character you will feel let-down and not bothered to ever touch this game again. Disgrace. -

Aug 22, 2012One of the worst games I have ever played. Jay Wilson killed the Diablo franchise forever and insulted the original talented creators in every possible way. The game itself would be just ok as a game if it hadn't the name Diablo on it. And that's the problem. As a Diablo game it is unrecognizable, you don't feel like playing a Diablo game anymore. Puke. The new Blizzard sucks.

Aug 28, 2012The game is great to play with friends from lvl 1 to lvl 60 (about 3-4 days). It has nice effects, appealing graphics, dynamic combat. However, it becomes boring at lvl 60, as it gets repetitive and turns into a grinding game. Bots own the game economy, the difficulty level is mostly inadequate. Maybe future patches will change this: who knows?
-
Aug 28, 2012It's painfully obvious that nobody who worked on Diablo 2 was involved with Diablo 3. Diablo 3 to Diablo 2 is what Terminator 3 is to Terminator 2. It's really sad that this game is so critically acclaimed. Definitely raises questions about the possibily of critic reviews in the gaming industry actually being nothing more than paid advertising.
-
Sep 1, 2012Horrible horrible horrible. This is not a diablo game, this is a ripoff to make some quick money (that succeeded) off the diablo name. I feel like I've been scammed. I am never trusting blizzard again. If I ever do buy a blizzard game again, which is very unlikely, I will definitively read the user reviews first. Notice I said user reviews and not the bought and paid for "critic" reviews.

Sep 23, 2012I enjoy(not love it) the game before Inferno, but after that you can see why people is against RMAH, there is no way that you can do it if you don't buy items because. And always online is a real pain if you lose connection just for 1 second(for example if you have a Router and it assigned a new IP) you are out. And it has a real story problems! In my opinion it doesn't worth $60
-
Sep 22, 2012What a complete let down, and i have spent prob over 10,000 hours playing D1 and D2 but this game is just awful a shame of a game to carry the diablo name...........Diablo 1 was all about the atmosphere.....Diablo 2 was all about the grind and the magicfind.........Diablo 3 was all about the $$$$$$.......
-
Sep 22, 2012+Decent graphics. -Always online DRM, -Lack of skill diversity, -Connection errors, -Play to win, -Short story. This game is a step back from Diablo 2, so I recommend avoiding it.

Purchased, unable to log in even once in 12 hours. This would be counted as fraud in any other industry but for some reason on this game I intend to play single player it's 'to be expected', just terrible. http://bbs.3dmgame.com/thread-3579935-1-1.html

Jan 2, 2013This has been by far the most disappointing game ever. 1- It did not cure cancer.
2- Does nothing to help against the hunger problem.
3- I have no idea how is the game supposed to help against global warming.
All in all, a bunch of broken promises. -

Mar 7, 2013Nice, metacritic crashed when trying to submit my review for this. In short online-only was always about the RLAH, game should be LAN, item grinding sucks, bliz pissed on this IP. D2 had two games types, bliz is just lazy. I was let down.

Mar 12, 2013So I'm forced to be always online just to play the SINGLE player game? Seriously? No thanks. Don't buy this game, because if you do, you're supporting game companies controlling where and when you play the game that YOU purchased. Don't buy this game.

May 20, 2012Diablo has been Kotified. No more farming items, you have to farm cash to spoend in the Auction House. With real life money AH coming next week no surprise the whole game is designed to push you into using it.

Jul 14, 2012When I lost my fourth hardcore character due to d/c I had enough, crappy "always online" in a single-player game. Now I uninstalled Diablo 3 for good, and this was the last time I got a Blizzard game directly at the launch.
-
May 20, 2012
-
May 20, 2012Game is good, but the need for constant internet connection while playing single player game is seriously fouled up. I've been kicked out from quests in the middle because connection went fubar and now I can't play, because servers are having MAINTENANCE, and that, pretty please, ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

May 25, 2012A bland monetization centric end to a legacy IP. Do yourself a favor and don't waste time on this unless you are fine with playing this game exactly as Blizzard wants you to.
Also if you expect anything like Diablo1 or 2 play torchlight 2 instead cause this is not it! -
May 25, 2012Continuous server downtime, unable to play single-player due to Blizzard server issues. Auction house has been down more than up. HORRIBLE lag that Blizzard insists is MY fault.

May 29, 2012
-
May 29, 2012This game is unplayable for most of the time that I want to play it - even SINGLE PLAYER. This is totally unacceptable as the always-on DRM is only in place to protect their pay-to-win real money auction house.
We are witnessing the downfall of PC gaming right in front of our eyes.
Do Not Buy. -
Jun 11, 2012I am willing to look past the launch day errors and habitual server problems. However, I am not able to look past the flatness of Diablo 3's game play and storylines. I really can't see myself playing this game anymore; I mean how many times can a person do the same acts over and over before it becomes boring and tedious?
-
Jun 11, 2012
-
Jun 19, 2012Not only this game is incredibly boring and repetitive, but the always-on DRM means you can't play offline--meaning when your without internet or during the numerous and lengthy maintenance periods. A complete rip-off.

Jul 15, 2012Is it made in China?Oh, dam* game !(*=n)
A huge disappointment, no more skill points to distribute, no more attribute points to distribute, skills unlock automatically as you level up, WoW inspired skills. Why is there no LAN? -
Jul 22, 2012
-
May 20, 2012Okay, Diablo 3's quite good, but the download and login problems are bloody chronic. I think this low rating gives a nice little warning that making single player games require login, then **** up the login servers just isn't acceptable. Giving 3/10 to push it closer to 3.3 (as in Error 33).
-
May 20, 2012
-
May 21, 2012The inability to play offline, repetitive gameplay, predictable plot and sub-par graphics not to mention numerous bugs and connection issues have led me to give this game a 0/10 simply as a way to show my frustration.

Aug 31, 2012My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.
-
Hyper MagazineJul 18, 2012For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]
-
Jul 3, 2012When it works, Diablo III is the best of the Diablo games. When it doesn't, all it does is make you mad. [July 2012, p.54]
