I'm giving this a 10 because it is an incredible game with great replayability, superb graphics, and a good story. It isn't perfect, but it definitely is between a 9 and a 10. And for some reason, I just couldn't wait to start playing again, waking up extra early so I can squeeze in a few more hours.

You cannot downgrade this game because of the option to use microtransactions. Every game company does that now. Look at Fifa for example, a complete rip-off with its microtransactions. I know people who have spent hundreds of pounds on that piece of crap when Pro Evo is a much better game.

Mankind Divided is a first person shooter slash stealth game that takes place 2 years after human revolution…
If you haven’t played that game there is a recap video, but honestly human revolution is the much better game, so I’d recommend playing it first either way
Very early in the game there’s a terrorist bombing.. You spend the rest of the game trying to get to the bottom of this and prevent future terror attacks…
To bring peace to the division of augs and naturals
this bombing though messes with your gear...
You go get it fixed and it’s discovered that you’ve had more cool gadgets under the hood that you didn’t know about…
These new added abilities are awesome, but they come at a price...
Too many active will cause over heating, so you have to pick and choose... activate 1 and deactivate another... and much like every other ability and upgrade in the game you have to spend praxis points which are awarded by leveling up in game or by straight up buying…
The microtransactions are buried, but there for those that want to max Jensen out early on…
This is still Deus Ex… theres 17 main story missions and 12 side missions…
The main story alone takes about 8 hours to complete… And while I personally found the story here much more intriguing than human revolution… The gameplay overall is miles worse...
There is absolutely no depth here that made human revolution such a magic experience...
    The world here isn’t alive…
Dialog choices seem to hold no weight, and the worst offense of all is that all sense of freedom from the past game has been removed…
I’m a very aggressive player... and while yes, you can definitely play this game like a first person shooter…
The game is almost designed completely against you…
This time around instead of levels being designed for drop of a dime change of plan like getting detected.. It clearly wants you to try your hardest to sneak around…
This is apparent with how quickly your energy drains when you use a perk…
Your awesome new armor, or going invisible, lasts for a good half a second before your energy runs out... and theres hardly any biocells laying around or crafting parts to make one on the fly.. Making the system feel nearly useless for anything other than take downs…
The game wants you crawling through vents instead of using all of the cool toys…
There are also so many road blocks here that didn’t exist at all in the past game…
In human revolution you could beat the entire game with only level 1 hacking as the game kept the hacking of story related doors simple…
Here, they force you to pour your upgrades into hacking with level 2 and 3 locked doors after locked doors…
Almost in a way encouraging those micro transactions for more skill points to pour there if you’ve ignored it, or to pour them into skills that actually compliment your playstyle…
There’s also really no cool open areas…
The game from start to finish feels like you’re walking around hotels… going from room to room…
There is no attention to detail here…
At least not up to the standard other deus ex games have created…
This feels almost like ubisoft annual spin off title than a proper sequel…
The story kept me going, and this is still a good game if you ignore the fact it’s supposed to be a deus ex game…
Deus ex, isn’t hacking and augmented abilities…
It’s a deep and detailed world… which is completely lacking…
A surprise and welcomed addition this time around is a very cool breach mode which acts as a puzzle platformer, where you work with a hacking group to collect data…
You run around using the same skills you do in the main game and also unlocks new skills and weapons as you progress through each increasingly tougher level…
Definitely some brain teasers here and I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would…
It’s almost a bonus game in itself
All in All Mankind Divided is a decent game fans will play and at least mildly enjoy either way... It just doesn’t live up to its series standard and not something I could recommend for anyone that isn’t already a fan…
I give Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
    a 7.5/10

I am shocked that this game has been so poorly received by the PC crowd. It really isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is - and indeed most of the criticism seems to be aimed at micro-transactions and performance/crashing. While these things are far from ideal, it certainly does not warrant the amount of negativity generated by it.

It really isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is - and indeed most of the criticism seems to be aimed at micro-transactions and performance/crashing. While these things are far from ideal, it certainly does not warrant the amount of negativity generated by it.

The game once again lets you take control of Adam Jenson and either shoot or sneak your way around in traditional Deus Ex stye. It plays very similar to the previous title (Human Revolution) in all respects. Infact, it is so similar that you will sometimes wonder if you are infact playing a prettier DLC for the previous game.

As with HR, you get the choice of how you want to play the game. Pretty much everything you do in this game can be accomplished in more than one way. Secret tunnels, sneaking, shooting, persuading, exploring and using your arsenal of cool "augs" are all options. I found the "shooting" path in this game to actually be one of the most difficult ways to play - since enemy AI Leeroy at you all at once and you quickly find yourself outnumbered and outmanoeuvred - even with all your cool augs to help. Now, to be fair, Deus Ex has (at least previously) tried to discourage this kind of play in favour of being more tactful, so I cannot really fault it there. It would, however, have been nice to have the option to go Rambo without the AI destroying you in seconds.

After an initial play about with the different styles, I settled into a more tactful, stealthy pacifist style of play. This, I found much easier to play with and so stuck with it for the rest of the game. I must say I came to really enjoy it in the end, after taking the time to invest in certain "must-have" augs.

The story is much more contained than previous games in the series. The entire game also takes place in only one really area "hub", as opposed to the grander style of the other games. This is both a blessing and a curse because on the one hand, it gave them an opportunity to really flesh out and add detail to the game world that IS there, but on the other hand it feels like there is more to this game than there is. The same could be said about the games length. It does feel quite short - and I worry that the DLC-train will be the way they fix this. A real shame, to be honest, since I really did want a little more for my money here. Micro-transactions are something you can simply ignore - to no real detriment to your game. I don't like this idea at all though - and it feels like a big kick in the teeth at milking more money on an already expensive (and small/short) game. I can understand why people are upset about this and hope they don't try this kind of scam again.

It looks gorgeous in most respects but is let down by some shoddy secondary character models and below-par lip-sync. The environment is rendered very well though - and more often than not looks truly wonderful. Music is also worth mentioning here - it is perfect for the game and lends a degree of background "mood" to the game.

As for performance - I had no trouble at all. The game seemed to keep a steady 60FPS in most cases. When it did drop it was not noticeable enough to me to warrant cause for alarm. I did have a few crashes though - which were annoying to say the least. The first one I had was after the tutorial mission, which forces you to watch 5 minutes of un-skipabble cutscenes again because of it. I also had continued issues with the "shooting range" in TF29 headquarters and gave up with it in the end. The crashes were my biggest issue with the game because of the lengthy time it takes to load up the game, watch the unskippable logos and then wait for the save-game to load for what seems like an age.

All-in-all it's a decent and fun entry in the Deus Ex franchise, but it is a little rough around the edges, "samey" and shorter than I had hoped.

I will first cover that I have not experienced any game breaking bugs and i'm running a PC that is going on 5 years old. I think if I can run it fine, most people should. Obviously, if you're a PC gamer, it is your responsibility to keep your graphics drivers updated and so on. If you are not, that is on you, not the developer.

With that said, the major bugs I have ran into:
    - I cannot save sometimes no matter what I do (killing everyone, etc. to ensure my alarm state is gone). The only resolve is shutting down the game and loading it back up.
    - I ran into a bad graphics glitch only on computer screens where I could not read them but I was able to fix this by playing with resolution settings.

Now, with that out of the way let me touch on the actual game play. The combat feels extremely good (and i'm playing with a Steam controller). I've been maxing out my hacking and sneaking abilities so that I don't have to kill anyone. It is very satisfying, for instance, to complete the entire Palisade Bank without killing one person and hacking all the cameras, doors, robots, lasers, etc. Then just walk through this huge empty building after. For me, this is a perfect stealth game. I'm also a huge fan of the Metal Gear series but I feel this is better than MGSV as far as stealth goes just because the environments are so much more interesting. There are multiple floors, all inter-weaving and connecting, making a huge building one giant puzzle. I feel a stealth game does not really need to be open world, but more so extremely detailed sections to infiltrate, which Deus Ex really nails.

Where Mankind Divided goes beyond the other Deus Ex games is in it's main city. If you were yearning for more to do in Human Revolutions city, this is exactly the place to be. There are hours upon hours of places to explore like apartments, shops, sewers, subways, and more. The city is bustling with locals, police, gangsters, dealers, hobos, etc. It really feels alive. Honestly, i've already spent about 20+ hours just in the main city, which is all by choice. If that's not your thing, you can certainly rush through the story. But I will say you may be disappointed because the story is not a good reason to play this game. It is roughly 8 hours (if you only do story missions) and really that's where this game falls short. Think of this Deus Ex as almost a sandbox but with more refined areas to explore. You will look at the details in this game, because that's where it is most interesting.

The augmentations or leveling system is pretty good, if not better, than Human Revolution. You are given a few more options but I will say that you will never become TOO good at any one thing. Everything still feels just good enough that the game will throw you challenges. It is cool that they can bring back all the old augs and they can still feel so useful. I guess that is really a testament to how well Human Revolution was too.

The weapons can be customized with silencers, lasers, etc. You can add different ammo types like EMP to incapacitate machines. So far all the weapons feel just right, through I've mostly used my stun gun because it's just so damn useful for my play style. I mostly sell everything I pick up and it's made me a little too rich, to be honest.

Some of the animations still need work, especially facial and speech animations. They still look last-gen. (especially after playing Witcher 3) But the graphics are so gorgeous that it makes you not care. Lighting is top-notch. Environmental detail is really good. It's just characters tend to look a little off in an otherwise beautiful world.

The in-game pay-to-win options some people are complaining about seems really picky. They are praxis kits/cash on the SE store and never suggested for you to go buy them like annoying apps do. You wouldn't even know they're there if you didn't load up the store. They are out there if you want them but I highly recommend you do not buy them because: a) You don't need them, the game is not THAT hard. b) Don't support pay-to-win... ever.

Gameplay mechanics and visuals grant the game a bit of a reprieve but the story fell flatter than a 6 year old dutch girl. Buy it on sale and consider getting the season pass because while I genuinely did enjoy the gameplay offered in Mankind Divided, it reeks of "The real story end is in the DLC" syndrome.

I've not completed the game but want to give a preliminary review.

    The good -

Graphics are a generational leap above the previous game, don't listen to anyone who will tell you otherwise. The graphics are superb and with an RX 480 I can pretty much max everything with a very smooth frame rate. The benchmarks you see in youtube are generally hub areas where not much action happens, so a lower FPS is more tolerable. In actual gameplay areas I rarely see FPS drop under 60.

There is so much detail in the world that sometimes you want to take 10 minutes just to go over 1 small room with a fine tooth comb, making sure not to miss anything.

    Sound and music is great

There is an insane amount to explore, considerably more than the last game. You will be spending alot of time on side quests which -are- interesting, which is a rare thing.

All of the game systems are fleshed out. Hacking has been improved and is somewhat challenging and rewarding. Gun fighting is much better. The cover system is decent. The AUG system offers more depth and there is an array of interesting abilities.

The PC port is technically good with no stability issues, no crashes so far. Some people say they have problems with a floaty mouse, i've had no such problems. There doesn't seem to be any acceleration either. Running on a 2500k, 8gb of 1600mhz ram and an RX 480.

    The bad -

Microtransactions are distasteful, although totally irrelevant. They are there exclusively for rich kids who may be willing to spend real money to buy credits if they can't quite afford something ingame. You can completely ignore the microtransactions with no effect on your experience.

    DLC - say no more

The PC port, while technically good (doesn't crash, good frame rate, many graphics options), is flawed. Hacking for example is a little clumsy and takes some getting used to.

The game no way deserves a 6/10. You can take with a piece of salt alot of the reviews here, i suspect a number of people are just mad because there is no pirate copy available. If you like the previous Deus Ex games, it is more of the same here with better graphics, more fleshed out game systems and world. The central story may be a little weaker but the side quests do alot to make up for it.

That was my first impression, it felt just like the predecessor DX:HR, only with somewhat updated graphics.

But then after a while, the lack of story progress and real content, become obvious, after running around in the same area for most parts of the game, which, even if it may be larger than the combined areas of DX:HR, felt smaller and less interesting by far.

The game felt like an introduction to the upcoming DLC's , and it made me feel hollow and surprised to suddenly see end credits* after a truly mediocre boss fight with a boring and one dimensional adversary.

I expected more, I expected a good story, they delivered only a polished shell of a Deus Ex game.
I wish I never bought it. Perhaps in a couple of years, a decent GOTY edition comes out which delivers the game they should have delivered in the first place, time will tell.

And additional -1 for crashing a lot, with stuttering fps, particularly later in the game.

*(The end credits which you can't cancel, and which took forever, showing pictures of smug developers I don't want to see as it breaks what little immersion I had in the game).

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will not cover the corporate greed extending its ugly arms with time-limited pre-order bonuses and micro-transactions in a full-priced game because that has been covered many times elsewhere and has since become a standard in the industry. Instead, I will focus on the game itself.

So, even ignoring the blatant presumptuous customer contempt, Deus Ex: MD is a game about nothing. The story progression in this game is quite literally none.
Instead of bridging the gap between excellent Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the classic game from 2000, wrapping up the story of how Bob Page and the Illuminati orchestrated events that led to the original Deus Ex - which every Deus Ex fan wanted and expected - we get an entry that shines as far as gameplay goes but the story is utterly meaningless and blatantly relying on future installments and paid DLC (which never came because nobody cares about this game).

Deus Ex: MD feels like a bunch of missions that were ductaped together rather than a coherent story. First of all, you are on mission in Dubai, where you get attacked by mysterious assassins. Then, you go to Prague - for some reason - which suffers a terrorist attack, which is - again, for some reason - intertwined with the mysterious terrorists. And this is the main focus point of the game. It's decent enough for a standalone game but as an entry in Deus Ex franchise it's too little. No questions from Human Revolution are answered. No connection towards the original Deus Ex is established, except randomly flashing Joseph Manderley's name and face a couple of times.

Almost all the characters from Human Revolution are gone, instead replaced by shallow and forgettable Alexandra Vega and bunch of even shallower and more forgettable characters like Koller or Rucker. Only Miller and Delara Auzene were at least a bit interesting.

The good thing is that gameplay and especially gunplay are improved compared to Human Revolution. That, combined with interesting side quests, is the saving grace of this game and the main reason why anyone would even bother with Deus Ex: MD. Levels themselves are well designed, with multiple paths leading to your objective and all major play styles (stealth, hacker, gunner) readily available and equally enjoyable.

The main problem of Deus Ex: MD are not micro-transactions but the fact that it failed to meet its fanbase expectations. Hard. If I play a Deus Ex game, I expect an unforgettable story and a game that stands well above average. What we got here instead is mostly a standalone expansion pack instead of a proper game. And I mean that from story progression perspective, not actual in-game content perspective. There is enough content and missions in the game, it is not that short and if it were any longer it would become a boring slog.

So who is this game for? If you are a Deus Ex fan who lusts for another Human Revolution, who wants to see how the Illuminati pulled strings from the shadows, who wants a satisfying wrap-up of the epic Deus Ex story line, then you will be utterly disappointed - that is reserved for another Deus Ex game. If you just want to play a decent cyberpunk FPS/RPG hybrid then grab it on sale.

I really thought this game could've been so much more. It is pretty much the same as Human Revolution with the exception of a few new game mechanics. The graphics are great. Microtransactions are not needed and do not get in the way at all.

Game is quite like it's predecessor, but sadly it seems a bit of a victim to the -open world everything- approach. Which comes at the price of distinctive content. The best thing are probably the dialogs, where Jensen (even with sunglasses) manages to be astoundingly expressive, but those are rare. Otherwise there are little stories to be found in emails and pocketnotes, but mostly, the read isn't really that good.
Non lethal game play goes a long way to keep game interesting and aug upgrades are spread nicely, so there is always something to spice it up a bit. The weapons on the other hand are very limited, special weapons useless and waste space. Generally item handling is not good.

It's hard to point the finger on it, but something is lacking from the game. Maybe it could have used a more engaging story, a less depressing city with less depressing people or some real new game play elements? Even some humor? And maybe more direction in it's visual design.

The Breach mode is interesting at first but becomes boring after a few hours. It has challenge modes with unfathomable time/score requirements. In addition, it requires a lot of clicking to start and setup any server run. There is a lootbox opening screen where you have to click 3 times to open, reveal and store the rewards. Expand

Compared to Human Revolution, Mankind Divided is a measurable improvement in graphics and gameplay. It also adds a few new augmentations and weapons, along with weapon customizations. The world has much more alternative routes and rewards exploration. Overall, this should be a better game with a better score but it does regress in many aspects. The story is not as compelling as the first game, with humanity embracing augmentations as the solution to many of their limitations, desires and challenges. After the events of the first game, the story is now more about a form of racism against augs and has some SJW themes in it. This is understandable based on the story of the game, but should've been implemented in a more subtle way as Jensen felt different and more political this time around. As for the characters, I feel like the dialog and script of the first game is superior as it was simply more compelling and brilliant. The business practices attached to this game are also cringe-worthy and really intend to milk customers in the single player campaign with day-1 DLCs, which is a big shame. This problem is also made worse by the fact that the story does feel a bit incomplete, like it was supposed to have a sequel and more story elements but was ended prematurely. The soundtrack is also not as good as the first game, which I still listen to this day at work. Performance and stability are also issues in this game. For my rig, the game crashes to desktop on rare occasions, which is a shame. As a gamer with high expectations for this title, with its predecessors being cult classics, this game should have done more, but fell short. That said, it is still a very good game, all things considered. Just expect a few crashes and don't expect a lengthy, outstanding, timeless experience like the original Deus Ex and Human Revolution. **Spoilers, obviously, though I'll try to minimize***

    Pros:
    - The graphics and art design look great. Everything looks like a Deus Ex game should, with a cool sci-fi veneer. I have a beefy PC (5820k @4.5ghz, gtx 1070), so could run it at Ultra no prob, but it does look like it would tax your GPU a bit.
    - Level design is good. Prague looks cool, and I really like the look of Golem City. Plus, Golem City is VERY vertical, which is pretty cool. There's one part in the level with a looooong room that you have to cross, and it has three stories or maybe more on each site. So you're Spider Manning your way around the level.
    - Voice acting is excellent, and music is really good.

    Cons:
    - Weapon variety is less interesting than Human Revolution. No laser gun to shoot through walls with. No plasma rifle. No heavy rifle. For some reason. They do have some "unique" weapons hidden in the game, but I found them pretty lame actually.
    - Microtransactions!!! wtf, this is supposed to be a AAA game, not a damn app.
    - But the biggest, most EGREGIOUS problem with this game, and the reason that I'm not giving it a 9, is the story! Or lack thereof. Where Human Revolution had a deep conspiracy that you traveled the globe slowly uncovering, with connections to the very top and Illuminati influence, Mankind Divided has the most unmemorable story! I literally can't remember what it was about, other than there was a terrorist attack, and then some bad guy, and then I fight the guy, and that's it. Not only was the story small and not interesting, but it ends just when you think it's taking off! Remember the 4 boss fights and all of those new areas to explore in HR? Well, in Mankind divided, you have Prague. That's mainly it. You go to a few areas of Prague, back and forth and back and forth. It's kind of like if Human Revolution just had you run around Hengsha the whole game, and then gave you a few other smaller areas with a single mission in each. And there's one boss fight. ONE!! Where HR had memorable maps, Mankind Divided really doesn't. And what really bugs me is it feels like Mankind Divided is just a cash grab. This is one of my favorite franchises, and to get the feeling that they sold me half of a game for $60? And they will sell me the ending if I buy the DLC? I'm not sure if that's what it is, but that is definitely what it seems like. And that's a damn shame. If I pay $60 for a game, I don't want microtransactions, and I definitely want a complete game. So wait for the Director's Cut, or wait for it on sale. $60 in it's current length is not worth it.

The upgrade system can also be annoying because even though the game allows you options on how to play you are better rewarded for being a stealthy hacker. However, if you ignore all of the combat upgrade the boss battle (s) will be much more difficult. I would still recommend this game to anyone who enjoys cyberpunk worlds or stealth mechanics (Dishonored, Assassins Creed, etc.), just don't expect the story to equal the level of greatness the previous Deux Ex games had. Another huge plus is the audio, from the incredible sound track to the impressive voice work. Visually it's good to great in parts, Adam looks as bad ass as ever. Technically it was fine for the most part, 1080p/60fps is very doable now after all the patches, I managed it easily enough on a GTX 970 on the high preset. The only issue I ran into was asset load hitching in the main city which can't be avoided from what I've read (I'm using a SSD and 16GB Ram). I should note I crashed a couple of times also, make sure your inventory isn't full when you go into the Firing Range for example, that'll crash your game. Finally gameplay, it has been improved with a better cover system and a bunch of new augs to play with, most of which are really fun to use. If you enjoyed HR you will enjoy DE so I'd highly recommend it to fans of the series and even those who are new, you can watch a 12 minute catch up video before starting MD to learn the story and events of the previous game.

One mark goes down to the story: the story is not really engaging - it happens two years after the events depicted in the previous Deus EX, and I find it a little boring. In these type of games you can always dump the story and go to a sandbox mode (e.g. Hitman), but if you go with a story, it has to be compelling.

Another mark goes down to the micro-transaction store: FAIL. Please don't enforce this type of things on a full priced AAA title. The only reason I dropped one mark (instead of four...) is that there's no need to buy anything from the store to complete the game in a natural way, and the developer doesn't shove the storefront in your face. It's there in the pause page, but not bugging you.

Not as narratively engaging as Human Revolution, but still a good game and a worthy entry in the franchise. Go for the Digital Deluxe edition at a discount so you get all of the DLC.
Total size on my hard-drive (including Season Pass): 60GB

+ Good voice-acting. Elias Toufexis as Jensen is as good as ever. Supporting cast is great as well.
+ Impressive light rays and hair animation.
+ Excellent side-quests. While not linked with the main story, they make everything better by providing valuable context. Some unique boss battles, too.
+ Stealth encounters are better than ever. A large number of choices, paths and methods await.
+ New augmentations that allow different ways to play. But if you want to play using the same styles and methods you developed by playing Human Revolution, you can do that too.
+ Plenty of mutually exclusive choices. At least two playthroughs are needed to see everything.
+ Prague is large and complex, divided into four districts. Tons to do and explore.

+/- What’s the story? “Adam Jensen fights terrorism by completing quests for Interpol.” The only stake Jensen has in the fate of augmented people is that he himself is augmented. Depending on how seriously you role-play his commitment to aug-rights (versus his duty to his job), the story can feel tangential.
+/- Much of Mankind Divided feels like a copy-paste of Human Revolution (with some refinements). Prague is the main hub instead of Detroit. Inventory is the same, gun-play is much better, hacking is refined, but is otherwise the same (the addition of “fog of war” on high-level objects is a nice touch). Even the story structure (though not the story itself) is similar.
+/- Composer Michael McCann returns from Human Revolution. His ambient tracks are as engaging as ever (and in a few cases thematically linked to the ambient music in Human Revolution), but the big story moments lack a “big tune.”
+/- Resource-intensive. Mankind Divided loves cpu cores and vram.
+/- Lacks boss battles (I am talking about required bosses, not the optional ones.) I’m not sure having some would necessarily have improved the game, but they did help segment the different sections of Human Revolution. Mankind Divided offers no unique encounters to punctuate major story moments.

    - I never asked for crafting. There is literally zero reason for it to be in the game.
    - Sequel bait ending.
    - The choices you made in the main story result in different news broadcasts at the end of the game. Not much of a pay-off.
    - Lack of stand-out characters. Delara Auzenne and Jim Miller are well-drawn, but the rest of the cast is incredibly weak, especially compared to the plethora of unique individuals who populated Human Revolution.
    - Final boss is a joke of a fight. And you know he’s going to be the final boss from about half-way through the game.
    - Steam overlay did not work (I ran the game in Exclusive Fullscreen).
    - Game will occasionally lock up for a few seconds, then resume. Increases in frequency as the game advances, then disappears after the alpine level. Feels like an issue with texture stream-in optimization, but I’m just guessing.
    - Looping cut-scenes are used to hide the loading screens. Annoying, given how long the load-times are. If I want to watch gifs, I’ll visit 9Gag.
    - Facial animations are sub-par.
    - Some textures are oddly low-res (even with textures set to High).
    - Hair might look great, but skin does not. Chalky and poorly textured.
    - There might be a lot of stuff to do in Prague, but the city itself is an endless sea of grey. Visually boring. A lack of obvious landmarks can make it hard to navigate. (And why is the game set in Prague, anyway?)
    - Need to read the tie-in novel Deus Ex: Blacklight to understand what happened in between Human Revolution and Mankind Divided.

While not the equal of its predecessor, Mandkind Divided is worth playing for its excellent side-quests and strong stealth gameplay – and just for the pleasure of role-playing as Adam Jensen again. When I finished Human Revolution for the first time, I couldn’t wait to go back and play it again. After finishing Mankind Divided, I had more of a “That was cool. Moving on” feeling instead. It is still an enjoyable return to the Deus Ex universe, and fans of the series shouldn’t hesitate to give Mankind Divided a try.

Maybe the most "disturbing" point is that the story is not good enought, the new characters didn't became so close than in HR, and during the first 60%-75% of the game, the difficulty is kind of easy.

I have only two claims to the game. Firstly, it is too short and passes very quickly. Secondly, they promised not a linear plot, but in fact the plot is influenced by the actions at the end of the game.

Adam Jensen returns, but we're not in Detroit. Main, and main city - Prague. Prague is very beautiful, the town is interesting to stroll (futuristic goes well with the old buildings). In the same city in the story is changing, becoming more dangerous, it made the tap well. Besides Prague, you can still select the Station Utulik. She's beautiful, and I feel that it's really all very sad, but in Utulik personally I spent no more than two hours for sure. There is, for example, Dubai - primary location, and a set of GARM, but at these locations, we conduct mizirnye amount of time.

The gameplay has not changed - no problem with it, the more we have a new emplty, a classy way. Shooting has improved, but because of an optimization I was not very comfortable to shoot, so I went mostly stealth. It's interesting, because the locations in Deus Ex tiered, with different passages, there's more than one entrance and exit. I think the game design was even better.

Human Revolution carries Mankind Divided on the subject. What I was doing in this part? I played 20 hours, but I don't know what took me so long. Remember what we did in Human Revolution, there was more locations, we've been a very long time. I felt the history, the scale of events, but even the episode with the crazy augs worth. Nothing of the kind in Mankind Divided, no! In the second part the plot is very weak, the scale is not. We mostly sit in Prague and do stuff. But the most disappointing is the plot. The boss is just aug man?! And that's it?! So simple?! Well, excuse me, in the first part we struggled with a mega computer, and now with a seemingly ordinary boss. The feeling has passed half of the game where the second half? It is noticeable that the game was cut. There are many questions, and chief among them is Adam Jensen it's the same or not?

In the end, it is better to undergo Human Revolution - she didn't need a sequel. Yes, I would like the continuation of the story of Deus Ex, but not that weak.

Some moments are really intense and there's a fair bit of exploring and sneaking. It does show that the developers have tried and be more diverse in terms of missions, but the end is very sudden and unexpected - undramatic even - when you're done, you'll think like "That's it? No twist? Just that?" and that surprised me in a negative way. But in it's defence, there's some really classy espionage/infiltration missions too.
To those who's intrigued by this game and haven't played the prequel (although, that does help a bit if you've done that, but it's not essential) I think you should definitely give it a try. But I'd recommend you to buy it at a discount at a season-sale, because it's not worth paying top dollar for.

A solid follow-up to Human Revolution. The game design and world are as strong as ever however the story becomes even weaker than the previous game. In my opinion this game would have been a lot better if it featured a new protagonist rather than stripping jensen of his augs but I think the character was too iconic at this point.

Feckless and perverted inheritor of Deus Ex glorious name.
Like a hyenas, it preys on remnants of titans.
There is no story, there is no simple explanations, sometimes there is no explanations at all.
Some examples: gang of armed criminals tears part bookstore in one wall distance from police using automated weapons without silencers and blocking street entrance among with few houses in it. No-one cares.
You walks to police officer and accuse other policemen of extortion, abduction and bribery - they immediately shoot them on the place. No court, no justice, that's it,
Crowd of people ask for neuposim. Just like "heya do you have a spare bottle of hugely expensive drug? No, it's not for myself, just though you might have"/
Poisonous gas and electricity breakage right in the centre of city. Because it's fine to have some kids dead, right?
Oh wait... there is not a single child on the street. Why? Cfu!
City overwhelmed by flats that have no entrance or exit except though windowsbalcony.
Screwed mage in sewer possess the tools that allows him control the minds of his followers - no-one tries to use to build a state for themselves.
Combat drones shoots hobos at sewer with no reason.
You have base which is literally copied from Mass Effect. And repeats the same approach from DX:HR. And have few characters which continues screaming "JENSEN" every time they see you, having nothing to say to you.
Main characters agrees to spy on his own organization simple because he is asked for it. No reasoning, no hesitation. Listening device? Yeah, give it to me, Interpol have nothing to hide.
Enormous amount of ventilations which are totally insane from engineering point of view. They are there just for you to have diverse access.
Sitting peoples can't be took down.
Someone worried to put number of billion-worth devices into your protagonist, just for free and hide them, because... well... why not after all?
There is clear segregation on humans and augs, but you are fine to ignore it.
Some quests are ends in the tiny air: no continuation, no explanation except "oh, this is life, yeah, life's hard, kiddo yeah..."
Casino -it is located in a sewers. Why?! How customers supposed to reach it? How one could hide the endless thread of customers and employees? Sewers are notable clean, by the way.
Locals speaks in either clear english with a no accent at all, or use grammatically correct but a bit spoiled by accent English. YEah, everyone knows english, right? No, for god's sake, billions of people do not care about it and billions barely may nail few words in it.
    Copy pasted streets.

Ben hack'i çok kullandım örneğin.

So it’s a bit of a curve ball that instead of escalating things, it actually tries to shrink the scope of the experience a bit: Where the stakes used to be global and somewhat apocalyptic, Mankind Divided chooses to settle protagonist and most cyber cyborg of all Adam Jensen down in cyberpunkified Prague, complete with a somewhat regular job as a detective at Interpol. The story starts with a bombing which, true to franchise tradition, leads to quite an elaborate conspiracy plot whose twists and turns aren’t always completely successful. But in contrast to earlier entries in the franchise, the action almost always stays confined to that one city.

As a consequence, Mankind Divided does feel a little bit like the straight to DVD sequel to Human Revolution. Taken on it's own, the plot is serviceable to good: The good guys are mostly charming and quite complex at times, the bad guys are sufficiently dastardly and they too have a few inches of depth under their belt, even if the genre conventions don't allow the player to get to know them that much. But the game can’t help itself referencing that Big Thing that happened at the end of Human Revolution, and thus the player is never allowed to forget how much more bombastic the last game was.

The core gameplay loop of Deus Ex is almost unchanged: There are hub areas that basically function as roleplay playgrounds: Adam walks around, he talks to people, does a bit of shopping, consults his quest log for main and side objectives. These sequences were very enjoyable to me, mostly because of the high production values: The writing is sharp, the voice acting on point and the city itself is breathtakingly immersive. Seriously: I’ve been to the exact section of Prague they try to emulate, and it’s very believable. While I do miss the bold black and gold style of Mankind Divided, the slightly more realistic tone has its advantages.

When you wander into somewhere you’re not wanted, the game shifts gears with an audible clunk: The first person stealth shooter makes its presence known and the player must make a choice: Shall it be shooting or stealth? To me, it is always stealth in these games, not the least because the believability of the world kind of breaks for me if the protagonist is a mass murderer. And stealth… is fine. It’s almost unchanged from Human Revolution, and it’s fine. The systems work, and almost all the levels are designed with multiple sneaky routes, most of them are very enjoyable to find and traverse. Sometimes Adam can even indulge in a few light instances of social hacking.

The hostile conversation system is also back, and it works fine here, but there is a problem: Back in Human Revolution, it was used in these incredible conversational battles between two philosophies, two ideas for progress: Adam got to exchange arguments and convince people that their ideas are wrong, or dangerous. Not so here. The conversations mostly involve Adam wanting some physical thing and him stroking the ego of his opponent the right way to get it: Still fun, but not quite as profound.

Hacking is back and basically unchanged. There are quite a few new augmentations, almost all of them useless for a stealth playthrough because most of them are just an alternate way to kill people or render them unconscious, and there are more than enough other options for that. Add to that the fact that until the last third of the game, you can’t even access the new augmentations without being penalised, and the new augmentations were pretty much without consequence for my playthrough.

So the game is good, great sometimes. Unfortunately it comes with some iffy parts, namely that the game entices you to pay for praxis points to unlock more augmentations. You absolutely can get through the game without buying a single praxis point… if you plan your upgrades right. I didn’t. I went all in on the hacking augmentations early and didn’t have enough points left to get some of the movement augmentation. As it turns out, these are very important for a sneak playthrough. And that’s how they got a bit more of my money.

All in all, I enjoyed my time with Adam Jensen, even if there was little new gameplay-wise and the story didn‘t quite live up to my expectations. My lingering investment into the plight of Adam Jensen saw me through the game just fine with spikes of enjoyment occurring often enough to not regret my purchase.

TLDR: This is a pretty good game. If you have a craving for Deus Ex, or an immersive sim, go get it. They don’t make many of those any more.

A great game for fans of Human Revolution. Lets you customise how you can play and can approach combat different each time and gives you alternatives to lethal combat. Tech side of things is fun, if a little repetitive in the mini games. Slightly abrupt ending but worth a play.

It's got good gameplay mechanics and it's replayable by virtue of the different play styles on offer but, based on what I consider a Deus Ex game to be, it fails to meet its potential due to a severe lack of locations.

My playtime was 39 hours but over 32 of these was in one place; Prague. Imagine if the original DX was almost entirely in Hell's Kitchen? Then there's 2 hours or so

My playtime was 39 hours but over 32 of these was in one place; Prague. Imagine if the original DX was almost entirely in Hell's Kitchen?

Then there's 2 hours or so in Golem city, which admittedly is beautifully designed with a huge attention to detail. However, the rest of those 5 hours are made up of a miniscule 3 main missions outside of Prague and Golem City. In fact, one of them is the tutorial level.

If you take a list of the main missions and places to see in the original DX and compare them to Mankind Divided, it's absolutely laughable. There's very little sense of adventure here.

The game designates missions by M for main and S for side. M17 is the last main mission but don't let the number 17 fool you, MANY of those so-called main missions are simply things like, 'Go back to HQ and see Jim', or 'Go back to your apartment and speak to Alex'.

There are a lot of side missions, and they're good as side missions go, but they're a poor substitute and in the end you'll spend 30+ hours in Prague, dealing with petty criminals, a variety of odd balls and people down on their luck or you'll be acting like some kind of cat burglar while you collect items and XP. Great if it were in ADDITION to a large variety of main missions but as the core meat of the game I was very disappointed. It's hardly globe trotting, secret facility infiltrating, super-agent stuff.

Buy this game for the fun of the gameplay but don't expect anything like the original version in terms of an epic story and questline. I'm giving it an 8 but if I was solely comparing it to the original as a fully featured DX game, it'd have to be closer to a 6. In the words of the great JC himself, 'What a shame'.

For example in every room you need to access to ....you will find a way to enter using hacking and stealth and move-heavy-objects augmentation and every other options...always...so it feel repetitive and seems that it doesn't really matter the way you choose to improve your character.
Combat also has been simplified and there is almost no mini bosses fights.
I hope for a third game with the quality of the first one and a continuation in this great saga.

Why does suppressor make weapons weaker? - The content is terrible by the glitch or OVERCLOCK game's effects. - The game's audios are bad, too hard to hear even with headphone.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - an honest review

First of all let me say I'm one of those who didn't have technical issues on my PC and I'm a huge cyberpunk fan (DeusEx, SystemShock 2 are some of my all time favs). Tha being said I absolutely loved Human Revolution, it was a huge step towards right direction. Naturally I expected that MD will improve upon that and those I pre-ordered.

Tha being said I absolutely loved Human Revolution, it was a huge step towards right direction. Naturally I expected that MD will improve upon that and those I pre-ordered.

    THE GOOD:
    - better action gameplay (if you choose to play it like that)
    - Side Quests (some are much better than the main plot)
    - improved graphics if you ignore animations
    - soundtrack
    - improved hacking
    - new augs are really cool
    - dialogs are more fluid

    CONS:
    - even tho there are many hidden rooms that you can sneak into, main hub just feels a bit of console oriented and claustrophobic
    - that being said, there is only ONE main hub in the game which makes this game feel kind of like Dragon Age 2 compared to Dragon Age: Origins
    - very unstable frame rate (even on high end PC-s)
    - FOV is a bit to small even on max settings
    - weird mouse acceleration
    - stealth is not as fluid as before
    - STORY and MAIN QUESTS fall rather short if not disappointing

Overall it is a nicely done SF/CyberPunk world with fun gameplay, some nice quests and great soundtrack. It is also a game that creates much less of an atmosphere compared to HR or DX1, story is really weak, animations and lip sync are bad, there are a lot of technical issues at the moment and the game lacks variety of the world around you (even tho main hub changes a bit over time).

It's solid, very good game, but it just doesn't deliver after much better Human Revolution. Fair 8/10

Graphically its fantastic, and the game mechanics are very easy to learn and master. Its full of fantastic details and the history its very nice and interesting.

My only complain is the story being too short, I don't know if they were saving stuff to a DLC or something else, like every game company now is doing... But I believe the history could have been much better or in this case much larger if they want.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is very good. The stealth system has been improved and offers new possibilities. The development of the hero has also been enriched with some new goodies. Unfortunately, something was missing. The game does not have the impact of the first part. Mechanically, it does not pay to invest in money - you can finish the game with the best equipment and 50k cash in your pocket. Sneaking around the whole game I ended up with all the needed upgrades and 7 praxis unused. The very ending ... left a great dissatisfaction with its poor performance. Even though I performed two final missions, I fight for the best effect. So what happened to me? As part of the ending, I was able to watch boring TV news devoid of the main character's narration. Naah. It could have been 8 but ultimately makes 7 out of 10. Good but could be better. Expand

    8.5 / 10 ❤️ - Very good game
(after 72 hours of playing & completing the game)

A direct sequel to "Deus Ex: Human Revolution". I would like even more. We have no influence on the ending and it clearly suggests that there should be another sequel.

Broken microtransactions. For about 5 cents, we can buy money and skill points, which makes it pointless to worry about character development

The maps the game takes place on are very small. They should have thought of a much bigger game. This series needs a third game.
