People are mad about microtransactions. Transactions that you don't have to buy unless you want to basically cheat to win. If they had spent their time just playing the game and not all up in the microtransaction store then they wouldn't be giving this game a 0. Idiots.

    The bad
-The game was cut to sell DLC's. The plot ends on the half way, dlc at release day and one more dlc coming this months that was also probably just cut from the game
    -Microtransactions
-The game is too short at a result of cutting
-Lack of bosses. Bosses are easily neutralized, are dull and not unique like in Dark Souls.
    The good:
    Deep atmosphere

This is an incomplete, buggy game. Some of the side quests do shine and the game play is very fun when it works. That said:

    * horrible control scheme * broken save system (literally - people can't save their game and lose hours of time). I have to manually delete old save files or the game begins to corrupt any save files I try to overwrite and won't create new ones * unavoidable

    * unavoidable crashes at several places in the game that prevent progression,
    * one-time use micro transactions
    * a story that moves the plot about 1cm forward and ignores most of the characters / plot threads from Human Revolution

I could go on, but I already feel like I've wasted enough of my time and money on this game. The issues overshadow any positive aspects the game has. The planned DLC isn't going to be incorporated into the story and instead will be standalone missions. I was super excited for this game and looked forward to it for 5 years, now I just feel sad to see what Square Enix has done to one of my favorite franchises.

Performed decent on my 980Ti (ASUS Strix) at 1080p ultra. Gameplay felt much improved when compared to HR. Didn't get into the story as much as I did with it's predecessor. Overall a good game, lengthy enough if you take your time exploring - although perhaps a little underwhelming. Possibly hyped a little too much for its own good.

But doing that flies in the face of what the Deus Ex games have always been about - exploring, finding interesting ways of getting past obstacles and adapting.
I have been a fan of this franchise from day one, and I fell in love with the Deus Ex universe when I first played the original game on a PC Gamer demo disk years ago - with the exception of Invisible War - and for me both his game and Human Revolution carry the torch well. Neither of them have quite reached the standard set by the original, but I would be interested to see this taken to it's logical conclusion and for the studio to eventually come full circle and remake the original at some point in the future.

The cover mechanics are a little bit strange to get used to at first - but I use the side buttons on my mouse for those functions, so that could just be me. The shooting, stealth and aug side of things is near-perfect though, for me.

Performance wise - I haven't had a single issue bar a couple of odd framerate drops. This game is a bit of a memory-hog though, 3.5gb+ is usually being eaten up while playing. I am running an i7 3820, GTX 980ti, 16gb RAM and the game is installed on an SSD.

My only real complaint was with the pre-order DLC, but having actually played the game now I am not particularly bothered. All it does is bring down the items given in game to a similar level to it's predecessor. Consumables are single use, weapons and augs are available for every playthrough!

One thing that I truly do not understand is why people are moaning about the in game store. Yes, it is a little bit annoying in a single player game but the game is balanced so as you do not need it. It is purely there for the sort of people who either have more money than sense, or want to complete the game a little faster. Have some self control and just don't use it, maybe?

In conclusion, I can't wait for the DLC to be released and for the next game! Now, to start playthrough number three - you gotta love New Game+! :)

To, že jsme si tímto vším prošli, neznamená že jsme dobré místo pro nějaké další pokusy, to je vyslovený cynismus a neuznání našich obětí. Je to plivnutí do tváře všem dotčeným rodinám a národu.

Příště ať si autoři zasadí děj do Vancouveru, a udělají si tam vlastní totalitní stát!
Nebo příště mohou udělat hru jak na pláži Juno v Normandii umírají hadroví panáčci, padají jak domino, a křičí: „Hepl“ „i watn to liv“. Bude to vtipné? Zábavné? Bude to povzbuzující?

Micro transactions are not intrusive whatsoever. Don't let their presence stop you from playing a very good game.

A great amount of attention to detail has resulted in a world that's fun to explore and discover. The gameplay allows options of how to approach different situations, which is very satisfying. Overall I have enjoyed this game a lot.

The game would suffer from huge drops in FPS, from 60 to 7 or 8 with no warning or apparent reason, forcing you to quit and restart and in some cases even completely rebooting your PC to resolve memory leaks. Despite these technical issues, Mankind Divided is a great Deus Ex Game . For those who are saying its short they are robbing themselves of the full experience - you really should do all of the side quests and take your time, explore and drink in everything that the game has to offer and you will be playing upwards of 40 plus hours - I played for over 60 hours and loved every minute of it. Had it launched without the technical issues this game would have easily scored a 9 for me.

TLDNR: If you like great tactical stealth/combat games, you will love this game. If you want to run and gun, you should look elsewhere. Otherwise this is well worth your time and your money in my opinion.

GRAPHICS: Beautiful game to look at, very immersive (when not plagued by the technical issues).with the exception of HORRIBLE CLIPPING ERRORS. Jensen's face, neck and hair would constantly clip through his collar and that drove me insane - very immersion breaking and odd looking.

SOUNDTRACK: Awesome score that is well orchestrated and adds tons to the atmosphere.

SOUND: Excellent sound effects and source to reception recognition, which is very important in stealth and tactic oriented games.

LEVEL DESIGN: Excellent level design with multiple paths and approaches to every mission including all side missions.

GAME PLAY: Excellent controls that can be reassigned, good shooting mechanics, excellent stealth mechanics and a lot of player choice and it avoids the use of "boss" battles that were a bit of a hinderance to Human Revolution. Just simply a great game to play.

If you like RPG atmospheric cyberpunk stealth shooters you should absolutely play this game.

I am shocked that this game has been so poorly received by the PC crowd. It really isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is - and indeed most of the criticism seems to be aimed at micro-transactions and performance/crashing. While these things are far from ideal, it certainly does not warrant the amount of negativity generated by it.

While these things are far from ideal, it certainly does not warrant the amount of negativity generated by it.

The game once again lets you take control of Adam Jenson and either shoot or sneak your way around in traditional Deus Ex stye. It plays very similar to the previous title (Human Revolution) in all respects. Infact, it is so similar that you will sometimes wonder if you are infact playing a prettier DLC for the previous game.

As with HR, you get the choice of how you want to play the game. Pretty much everything you do in this game can be accomplished in more than one way. Secret tunnels, sneaking, shooting, persuading, exploring and using your arsenal of cool "augs" are all options. I found the "shooting" path in this game to actually be one of the most difficult ways to play - since enemy AI Leeroy at you all at once and you quickly find yourself outnumbered and outmanoeuvred - even with all your cool augs to help. Now, to be fair, Deus Ex has (at least previously) tried to discourage this kind of play in favour of being more tactful, so I cannot really fault it there. It would, however, have been nice to have the option to go Rambo without the AI destroying you in seconds.

After an initial play about with the different styles, I settled into a more tactful, stealthy pacifist style of play. This, I found much easier to play with and so stuck with it for the rest of the game. I must say I came to really enjoy it in the end, after taking the time to invest in certain "must-have" augs.

The story is much more contained than previous games in the series. The entire game also takes place in only one really area "hub", as opposed to the grander style of the other games. This is both a blessing and a curse because on the one hand, it gave them an opportunity to really flesh out and add detail to the game world that IS there, but on the other hand it feels like there is more to this game than there is. The same could be said about the games length. It does feel quite short - and I worry that the DLC-train will be the way they fix this. A real shame, to be honest, since I really did want a little more for my money here. Micro-transactions are something you can simply ignore - to no real detriment to your game. I don't like this idea at all though - and it feels like a big kick in the teeth at milking more money on an already expensive (and small/short) game. I can understand why people are upset about this and hope they don't try this kind of scam again.

It looks gorgeous in most respects but is let down by some shoddy secondary character models and below-par lip-sync. The environment is rendered very well though - and more often than not looks truly wonderful. Music is also worth mentioning here - it is perfect for the game and lends a degree of background "mood" to the game.

As for performance - I had no trouble at all. The game seemed to keep a steady 60FPS in most cases. When it did drop it was not noticeable enough to me to warrant cause for alarm. I did have a few crashes though - which were annoying to say the least. The first one I had was after the tutorial mission, which forces you to watch 5 minutes of un-skipabble cutscenes again because of it. I also had continued issues with the "shooting range" in TF29 headquarters and gave up with it in the end. The crashes were my biggest issue with the game because of the lengthy time it takes to load up the game, watch the unskippable logos and then wait for the save-game to load for what seems like an age.

All-in-all it's a decent and fun entry in the Deus Ex franchise, but it is a little rough around the edges, "samey" and shorter than I had hoped.

I had no technical problems with the game. I was playing on a Nvidia GTX970 with a SSD. I did not install any Nvidia optimization software (In fact I disabled the update system because it was eating my bandwidth)

The only problem I had was with the story. Something about the whole conflict between augmented and non-augmented peoples seems off: Shouldn't augmented people be better than

It's been an enjoyable game, maybe not fun as the original DE or DE/HR, but still a good DE experience that I plan to play through more than once, so it's worth it to me.

I will agree with the few that complain that the story is pretty unforgettable - I get the sense that there are sequels planned in the future that will expand on the story and hopefully give it more depth. Don't buy in to all the crying about micro-transactions though: I'm playing through on the game's "hard" difficulty in stealth mode and can easily maintain a surplus of Praxis Points (the points you use to buy/improve skills). I'll try it in more of a shooter/combat heavy mode next play-through and will update my review if that changes things.

As in past DE games, you can discover many options for completing your missions. Hacking, sneaking (my God they make very large and sturdy ducts in the DE universe!), parkour-ing your way around obstacles - there is always an option.

Inventory space is still very limited, but not to the point where I feel that I can't carry everything I need to succeed - just enough to wish I had more space to care more things that I'd just sell later. But since money seems abundant (since I rob every carport, safe and drawer I can open), this isn't a huge issue.

The graphics are average - the characters all look like they're wearing too much makeup or something. The environments are nice to look at though; they did a great job imagining a near-future Prague, and many of the areas within. The sound/voice acting is above average - convincing accents and emotions, certainly nothing immersion-breaking there.. I haven't had a single performance issue yet so I don't agree that this is a "bad port".

I'd say my true score would be 8 of 10, but to compensate for the whiners I'm adjusting it up to 10.

The ugly story that does not move the story of the game world , the hero of a single step . Two final selection killed my every desire is not something that pereprohodit , and even run this hack . Why do something to choose or do in an RPG where no consequences ? Why do we play in this?

I've always been a big fan of how Deus Ex prefers for you to play stealth. I am a stealth gamer at heart and I always try to go the stealth route when playing pretty much any game that's not just a straight up shooter like Halo. Mankind Divided disappointed me however as it made me a stealth God and I'm sure its the same if you were going in shooting everything as well. Mankind Divided disappointed me however as it made me a stealth God and I'm sure its the same if you were going in shooting everything as well. While I love the gameplay, even on the hardest difficultly level, the game was way too easy. I only died a handful of times and that was mostly to some trial and error parts of the game.
I can sorta forgive easy gameplay but not a bland story. The ending of the first game, and I mean the very end where you select what to do to give you one of 3 choices, might as well have never happened. From the end of the 1st game to the beginning of the second, there's quite a bit of down time that's not very well explained and the devs should have spent more time on what exactly happened. But beyond that, the main story of this game was majorly bland. The open world that came with it was decent but a bit too claustrophobic and it seemed like they were more interested in finding ways to connect buildings with some sort of duct or sewer then building a world that was in-depth. It's not the worst I've ever seen but it could have used alot of work to make it better.
All of this goes along with the massive framerate issues I had and the multiple crashes I suffered while playing the game. Now having properly set up for a 3rd game, it felt like the developers were stuck with the ending of the first game and tried their best to make it work with a very clear idea of what was going on in the story. I don't exactly agree with half of the stuff that was being implied by what was going on but I can give them credit for trying to tie the game into some of the social problems our society faces in real life.
In the end, I would say I had fun with the game but it's nowhere near as good as the first one. Lots of unexplained questions, lots of characters that were clearly just in the game to introduce them for the next one, and the poor marketing campaign that Squeenix did for it, leaves me wanting more. They definitely have alot of ground to cover for the 3rd game but the basics of a great game as still there. They just really need to get away with some of the design choices from this one when they do that.

Once again, Deus Ex exceeds my expectations where storyline, detail, and science are concerned. Every dev team should put this much detail and effort into their games. With more than 20 hours in the game, I've not seen a single bug. The performance is really great as long as I'm not in 4k (they're patching later for DX12 and 4k performance). With that said, I think the micro transactions and day1 DLC are disgusting and I'm seriously considering never giving my money to Eidos or Square Enix again. It's a real shame. I scored it a 10 because we're rating the game here. If I were rating the companies involved it would be a 2. Expand

Great game so far was nervous about getting it because of the reviews but if you like the first one then idk why you wouldn't like this one seems like everyone is just upset about microtransactions or not being about to run it, i can only just get smooth fps with a gtx680 and 8gig ram still looks great on low settings surprisingly

Mankind Divided rewards exploration and respects your choices throughout its hefty campaign. The city of Prague is absolutely amazing with great details and visuals. The gameplay is also exactly what you expect from a Deus Ex game.

There is almost nothing you can complain about regarding the Mankind Divided gameplay. To achieve a greater score new Deus Ex lacks a better story and the possibility to "turn off" Czech language. [Issue#267]

Despite the "Can't stop the progress" tagline, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is pretty much a rehash of the previous game.
