With Destiny 2, the game has excellent graphics, maps, and in some ways the new plot like raid, strikes and with new features, such as search groups are great.
However, the one thing that greatly disappointed me about Bungie and/or Activision, is the misleading behavior. Not just misleading, but plain lies to us, the consumers. The following are just examples:

    • They misled the game community with the XP rewards.
    • They misled us with the overall reward logarithm, e.g. three of coins
    • The initial s block of previously purchased game content from players that didn’t bought the new DLC, curse of Osiris.
    • Micro transactions through Eververse. Most of the cool rewards are behind this character. Probably, it may give some advantages in PVP to players who spent additional money purchasing through Eververse.

These are examples of a company who doesn’t care about ethics, its customers, quality control etc. On top of that, the new DLC curse of Osiris for $20, which in my opinion, is not a DLC. A DLC that can be finished within a couple of hours is just proof of the rip off.
I understand that Activision wants to make money, but lying and ripping off its customers it’s just not right. Unfortunately, I purchased the game with its DLC expansions. But, not in the future, I’ll never purchase any Bungie’s game in the future, just like I did with EA.
Activision and/or Bungie has adopted an overpriced with the minimum-development model at the expense of the game content. To be fair, I give this game 5 out of 10.

This game optimises every bad part of the gaming industry.

    * The Menu and Party UI is the worst of any game I've ever played. In our attempts to try humour the game we would often spend 15 minutes trying to work out why the game deemed us unworthy to join as a group before giving up. * DLC: Jesus Bungie take me out to dinner before you **** me. * DLC: Jesus Bungie take me out to dinner before you **** me. There's a special level of arrogance for a game as boring, mundane and repetitive as this to feel itself worthy of DLC. (More on this in a second), let alone DLC that becomes ESSENTIAL to the game. Was ÂŁ45 not enough for your Shooter inspired loot simulator?

    * The game is not fun. It's clear Bungie created a nice game engine with some good shooting mechanics, put a lot of thought into how to maximize revenue from the game then released it. I'd love to know who the first was to realise they forgot to actually develop a game in the middle of all this.

    * The Story: Literally the most boring, uninspired **** I've ever had to endure.

Seriously **** this game, I've never felt as cheated out of ÂŁ45 in my life. I will never buy anything associated Bungie, their developers or their developers children ever again.

Lack of content and lack of hats is just overwhelmingly horrible. If you like to play extremely casually, this may be your game. If you are looking for interesting game to play longer than few weeks, ignore this instantly, don't think about buying this.

This game was a disapointment. I was hyped and the game was hyped beyond anything realistic and also game magazines or online journals have rated this game very high (88 here). So I expected a game that is keeping you motivated playing it. The story is weak, linear nothing unpredictable any turn. So a 1st grade could have written the story.
Also the story is the only thing worth playing

Also the story is the only thing worth playing in this game, then you may have some fun in getting to highest power level. Thats it then - you are done and nothing left over to do anymore. The loot shooter or in more generic looter concept has been hidden behind paywall and does not make any sense in a looter. You want to find loot and feel rewarded for the grinding. However the game modes does not support this. You do not get anything rewarding from strikes or from PVP or from Raids. So why bother playing it and grinding over the same mission again and again and again? It is just booring and you simply do not get all the outfits and loot and weapon increase you would expect from a looter. So that is where the whole game fails.
Bungy does make the same mistakes again, that has been done with Diablo3 in the early years - trying to get money out of a looter by putting the main principle within a real money store. That does not work, cause there is no reason to play it anymore.

Beyond that, ethically questionable to put more then 50% of all items behind a paywall within full price game with DLCs . Also limiting the possiblity to get this items for free in a looter does not make any sense and is pure greed.

Destiny 2 promised a lot. After playing through most of the games, I can say that I expected more. The characters are horrible - all trying to be funny constantly. It would be fine if it was Cayde-6 only, but it isn't. How am I supposed to take a game serious if it doesn't take itself serious? The graphics are good, and it is a well optimized game. The gameplay is boring. It is the same over and over. You run through a similar, small map. Enemies appear. You shoot the enemies. Your ghost or some of the characters says something cheesy. Enemies appear once again. You shoot them once again. And it just goes like that. I have finished Destiny along with it's expansions, and except for the graphics, Destiny 2 shouldn't be a new game. They have a lot in common, not just the same atmosphere, but also the same gameplay, enemies, map system, quests and all that.

On top of that, the game is a cash grab. Just look into all the frauds the developers have made. For example, they reduced the amount of XP you would normally have received for activities in max level. And they kept it hidden! Why? So it would take you longer to get those bright engrams (loot boxes), and that would increase the chance of you buying them for real money.

So yeah - I am disappointed.

I'm sure console players must think there is a lot of content but there isn't. The whole game feels bland. The PVE is a lot easier on PC due to m/kb controls and graphic advancements so you can outrange enemies easily. I think PC players were once again fooled into thinking that this would be something great on PC due to PC trailers. It's sad that we can no longer have trust for Bungie - another studio lost to their own greed and pride.

This is one uniquely kind of game, that is relatively good looking but has such a crappy aftertaste in almost any aspect (totally incoherent and blundered story, bugs, design faults, willful programmed obsolescence, deceitful game mechanics etc etc etc), that you can not stop the urge rinsing your mouth with powerful disinfectant, as with every new bite and extension you want to vomit more out than you already ate. DO NOT BUY THAT CRAP.

It would not be fair to give that game a 0, because it can be fun playing it initially, yet after a short while (yeah the so called story line is rather quickly done...) and when one has grinded long enough to get the character classes and sub-classes to max, one quickly gets the epiphany that that was it. One raid in the endgame with a prestige mode that does not really get you better stats loot, repetitive strikes and heroic strikes and nightfall activities that result in no big loot gains but having ridiculous features in it, so you only can play them more or less with pro players only because of some really bad modifier combos.

That game with all its bugs and design failures, and with the implementation of unseen and unscrupulous monetization mechanics, that just aim to squeeze and squeeze more and more money out of you - the buyer- , and all the game gives you is that bitter aftertaste in your mouth, as if you licked a load of dirt; it is a game that will get you on the long run into that depressive state where you pull and pull the lever of the one armed bandit of game mechanics and loot boxes and hope for the win and satisfaction that never comes. Just more crap more or less openly dumped on you.

If you are a masochist that enjoys pain, then that is the game for you. It will keep you grinding for nothing. It will give you crucible matches you constantly yell about and scream in anger, because Bungie implemented a peer to peer model so they have saved bucks on their infrastructure and server capacity and optimized their cash flow.

Yes, the cash flow that goes from your pocket to their managers bonuses being so innovative to sell you AAA priced faulty and buggy software, that gets you to vomit and yell on a constant pace like Linda Blair in the Exorcist.

Below are the issues I have.
    - 60FPS in game but 30FPS on cinematics.. makes a difference when the switch happens.
    - Leveling is done way before the end-boss of original content. LVL 20 is max in base game and 25 for Osiris expansion.
    - Sparrows are pointless in this game as they make you beat the game to use one (unless you earn one from a bright engram) This creates large areas where the game goes from a FPS to a walking simulator.
    - Items are small in quantity with new ones that were in original Destiny being brought back only not as good. Unique items such as skins, sparrows, ships, class gear, special event gear, come from Engrams which are earned every faux level after max level.. or purchasable with Silver which is the in game micro transaction currency.
    - Communication is horrible.. There is no general chat, clan chat, or easy way to get anything going in a MMO FPS game that focuses on PVP, Raids, and Strikes.. Oh but wait Activision and Bungie must love Nintendo because they made a mobile Destiny app that allows you to find that special clan and chat with them.
    - Bungie kept the aim assist in the PC version which combined with the 60FPS and Keyboard/Mouse combo makes this game easy to do whatever.. I died the first time well after beating the main story during the raid.
    - Still the same lame concept.. kill wave after wave and then any enemy you see in world.. know there are 3 of them.. Bungie can't seem to do things in random numbers.
    - The planets seem much small in Destiny 2.. I never use sparrow unless I'm doing a strike or something where people avoid enemies and just try and go fast through the content.
    - The farm is a great place but like the first game you eventually get a big city which is basically just a big walking simulator which contains just pointless halls and needs to be 90% smaller.. think farm or PSO lobbies.

Also I can't stand the fact that they already have a expansion which I also played and it sucked.. Smallest planet and it makes the light level achieved during Leviathan Raid pointless. This accompanied with the low content level shows Bungie and Activision hide content behind paywalls.

Good game and while I still play its mainly to do Milestones and Crucible matchmaking.

I was pretty fond of the first Destiny, though it took me some time to warm up to it and there are things about it I never liked, most notably the scummy way they handled the Taken King release and the exceedingly awkward controls on PS3. It had a pretty great soundtrack though.

The thing is, what I like about Destiny 2 is pretty much entirely the fact that it has a PC version. Aiming and shooting feels appropriately smooth and responsive, and load times are much improved. Past that, If i didn't have friends who play it I probably would have abandoned it already. As it is, I received the game and first expansion from a friend and haven't spent one red cent on it. Said friend is also the sort of person that aggressively defends every aspect of a game they like, even one with such an obvious myriad of flaws as this one.

Here's the ugly details. For every thing they sort of improved, there's ten boneheaded things at every level of this game's design, more then I could possibly fit here. Every time I play I discover something new and even more stupid. I can't say I find its low user review score here on Metacritic surprising. There's so much that I'm just going to summarize.

    Pros
    - Primary weapons were improved considerably. They're now, well. PRIMARIES. As in, your main weapon, the thing you get kills with. I've heard complaints about this on reddit, but I like what they did with them. Especially the Vigilance Wing.
    - Less compartmentalization of content. Story and side missions are now properly integrated into the exploration zones.
    - Many more color options for gear.
    - Auto rifles were buffed. This was badly needed.

Cons. Where do I even begin?
    - Though it's hardly terrible, the plot is still very thin, even for an FPS. It's at least more focused and coherent then the first game, but it's written a little too plainly, making Cayde's silliness feel a little too on-point. The extensive background, in particular the obscure literary references offered by some of the Exotic lores, suggests an epic of science-fantasy, grand adventure and the power of friendship. What we get is little more then an episode of a cartoon- admittedly, one that might run on Toonami.
    - On that note, they make even less use of their own lore then the first game did, if that's at all possible. I've never seen a series so afraid to revel in its own worldbuilding.
    - Twelve players in the first game's Crucible PVP was bad enough. But eight? I am so tired of this trend of steadily shrinking player counts in versus games. If I wanted to duel players I'd play a game that has a dual mode. This small team crap is boring. Combined with the disparity in effectiveness between many of the guns, god awful map design and complete lack of any kind of skill bracketing in the matchmaking, you will lose a majority of matches, sometimes to such crushing odds that the match will end early out of pity. Also, it shamelessly rips its gametypes from Call of Duty and Counter-Strike.
    - Why the hell is it only on Battle.net? Did Gabe Newell crap in Bobby Kotick's corn flakes?
    - Also, matchmaking. It's as dumb now as when it was first implemented in Halo 2. It has no place in a PC release.
    - Handcannons were nerfed. This was NOT badly needed. At least not where PVE is concerned.
    - Where the hell is the Last Word? Why ommit any Exotics from the first game at all?
    - You're likely not to get a Sparrow until after you've completed the man story. That's asinine.
    - The Warlock Glide is completely screwed up compared to the first game. I'm not sure what they did wrong but it frequently does not get you to where you need to go.
    - The ledge grab maneuver would be a welcome addition- if it worked 100% of the time. As it is, it's rather finickey.
    - Individual Strikes are no longer accessible from the Director or for that matter from the exploration zones as they should be. Instead, there's only the Strike Playlist. This strikes me as more odd then annoying, but still.
    - In order to increment the Rat King quest, someone else on your team needs to have the quest or the weapon. This isn't mentioned anywhere.
-The ships still don't do anything. They should do SOMETHING, I mean, come on.
    - Three players is still a weird party size. This rule of three thing they have is a bit much.
    - The NPCs at the tower are much more spread out then they were in the first game. You waste a lot of time running around.
    - The Prometheus Lens. Good lord, what were they thinking? If you don't know what I'm talking about, It was a horrendously overpowered laser weapon made available by Xur the first weekend after Curse of Osiris released. that made it so that if you weren't using it, you were guaranteed to lose crucible matches. And even if you WERE, you'd probably still lose, because almost everyone else was using one. It was then nerfed to the point where no one used it anymore.
    - Shaders are now single-use consumables. What?
    - Shadowshot is still next to useless.

This game is a huge step back from the first one. The only thing that has improved is more cut scenes, but they offset this by literally destroying the established lore, and its pretty clear they have no clue where they want to take the game. 2.It is a game with microtransactions in the form of "loot boxes", randomized reward crates that you can buy for real money designed to prey upon people with addictive personalities.
3.And finally, it is a game that removed content that anyone who bought the game already paid for and now it forces players to pay up again if they want to access it.

Even if you think the game is good, and that's fine if you do, I hope you can agree that we, as a community, should not tolerate the exploitative practices being pushed by Destiny 2.

Interesting concept of a game. So you're basically paying for a 4 hours campaign, mindless grinding, everything is behind a paywall or random loot boxes. There have been, and will be, countless more interesting games with more content and less contempt to its buyers, many of which are free.

Story is bland and clearly all budget went to rendering and voice actors. Well guess what, your

No gameplay, no feeling, no feelings, no nothing. You want to buy it ? Well aint much in it for you. it's 2017 guys, and you're killing your own player base because... profits, I guess. Hope you will soon feel the comeback coming.

While Destiny 2 has a solid foundation and a robust story campaign, its endgame content feels a little lacklustre. The sandbox doesn't have a whole lot of depth, and plumbing each of the hub worlds for secrets doesn't feel that rewarding. Grinding Public Events, Raids, and Strikes with friends is definitely a lot of fun, but there's a huge disconnect between content being cleared and your character strength increasing. There's still a lot of room for Destiny 2 to grow but, for now, it's still got a few kinks to work out.

In a nutshell, Destiny 2 for PC is the same outstanding game we played on consoles, but even more enjoyable thanks to spectacular visuals, masterful optimization and much more suitable controls. [13/2017, p.75]

Play this great shooter with your friends, it pays off. Then it will offer hours and hours of great fun without the stereotype. But be prepared the endgame will thoroughly test your patience and willingness to grind. [Issue#280]
