    Overall - 7.5/10

    + Great artstyle and characters
+ Amazing ost made by one dude
    + Good Level Design

    - Combat was lacking, it got repetitive after awhile and was the biggest downside of the game

Has atleast 15 hours of gameplay. Charming art syle reminds me of Windwaker with combat that is somewhere in between a Souls game and a Zelda game.

Visually and sound wise this game is an absolute treat. The world is really pretty and the character designs are cool. Everything else about it is just kind of bland. The combat isn't terrible, but it doesn't really feel that great. Exploration isn't really all that rewarding, you either find some souls or a random object of some vague importance. Too bad that this game needs it more than any other game, thanks to its repetitive, convoluted, and seemingly random level design. The character upgrades seem to do absolutely nothing at times. ("improves base speed". Really? Didn't do jacksh*t as far as I can tell)

So many ideas feel like they were stolen from other games/franchises. The main character is a slow and much more boring version of Hyper Light Drifter. The Frog King's domain is basically the Lake from Hyper Light Drifter. Obviously, the entire combat mechanics are a baad version of Hyper Light Drifter.
Enemy designs were directly lifted from Zelda (like the mages). Pothead? Onion knight. Urn witch? Yubaba (Spirited Away). Visual style? Monument valley. Geez louise. At the same time, the game presents itself as the most unique sh*t ever and takes itself way too seriously (while pretending it doesn't, by implementing some painfully unfunny jokes). It's just cliché after cliché.

I mean, give the game a go if it interests you. All I see is loads of wasted potential, and ultimately a very frustrating experience, which is a real shame.

How can this mediocre copycat of a game have a higher Metascore than Hyper Light Drifter, the masterpiece that this game was based on, and be right up there with DARK SOULS, ORI, HOLLOW KNIGHT, amongst others? Is it because of Covid? Are people so starved for new games that they'd delude themselves into thinking that THIS is right up there with those other modern classics? Man oh man, get real.

You can feel a great attention to detail everywhere. The bosses and enemies are well crafted and varied, keeping you on your toes during combat without ever becoming too difficult. In fact, the difficulty of everything (fighting, puzzles, etc.) is insanely well balanced and fair. Oh, and the music! THE MUSIC!!!

The game could be described as a mix of Zelda, Ori, and Dark Souls (sprinkled with bits of mystery solving!) but really finds a way to be unique. It's one of those gems that make you go "ah HA!" all the time as you figure stuff out.. so it's hard to put the controller down :P It's just that fun.

    Highly recommend!

This game is way over-hyped. It's a cute isometric game where you play a crow that is trying to reap the souls of the dead. It looked a little quirky, but it seemed to have its own charm. It also has very good reviews, and some youtubers highly recommended it. So, I bought it and gave it a try, excited for the game to impress me, and just have some fun.

    Well.....

I really liked it at first. The music is definitely the best thing about this game. The atmosphere is also really well done. The character is cute, and the story is interesting. But, the charm started to fade pretty quickly. The gameplay reminds me a lot of the original Zelda. The problem is that the combat is not really well done. That's unfortunate, because most of the game revolves around fighting. It has puzzle solving elements and a story, but the "playing" portion of the game is combat. It's not really that good. When I played the original Zelda, I died sometimes, but it always seemed fair. I rarely felt that way when I died in this game. My deaths felt cheap. And that just makes a game not fun. Add into the mix that it doesn't have a map, and the bosses take many many hits. I don't know how many times I died to a boss by barely being hit at the very edge of one of there attacks. Again, I felt like it was a cheap death. This game was not shown as a souls-like game, but it really is, although the controls are far inferior.

Your initial weapon is very weak. I leveled the damage up, and my speed up, but I couldn't even distinguish the difference afterwards. That seemed weird. You also cannot block or parry, leaving you to literally run or roll away from every attack. Um......no thanks.

I think the reason that this game was such a big miss for me, is that developers nowadays seem to think making a game harder, is making a game better. I don't mind challenging games, that have solid mechanics and a good story. Heck, even Mario games don't have a good story, but the gameplay is rock solid. If gameplay is subpar, it ruins almost every game, as it did in this case. Instead of me being swept away into this unique world and having a blast, I was just frustrated and annoyed at the cheap deaths and subpar game mechanics. I just want to enjoy gaming, and this wasn't even close.

Bottom line: the game isn't fun to play.

This is the type of game that pretty much no one will dislike. Besides the review before mine from the person who has never given a game more than three points except for Pathologic 2 which they readily called "unfun" but still gave a ten. So I don't know if I'd necessarily listen to that person.

Anyways, this game is just rock solid in what it wants to do and executes it wonderfully.

Anyways, this game is just rock solid in what it wants to do and executes it wonderfully. It's not reinventing the wheel but it doesn't have to. Pleasing low-poly graphics that still look great and have a kind of matte quality to them. Great music. A simple story that does enough. Fun combat/exploration/puzzle gameplay. Decent level of challenge that ramps up as you go along but won't be too hard even for people who don't play tons of similar games.

I feel like this is the kind of game that no one will review worse than a 6/10 or higher than a 9/10. That's its natural range, which means it's a pretty damn good game. It's also priced appropriately for what you get, releasing at 20 dollars. Get it and enjoy the exploration, combat, and characters for about 14-20 hours.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For starters, Death's Door is an excellent action-adventure game.

The game delivers the feel of being helpless at first with nothing but you and your sword that is severely under-leveled. The upgrade system is fairly decent, and although I could have liked 1 more slot that cost 5K in souls points, it's still very decent and rewarding.

The bosses are uniquely designed to be interesting and fairly challenging, which allows for an in-depth fight rather than being shallow short-sided.

The game rewards the player for completing enemy clear challenges to get an upgrade for the dungeon or part of the level in order to progress. I feel as if this portion could be easily found within the level that's needing it rather than booting the player to the hub world to go and get to it.

While most of the effort is put into getting more upgrades to defeat enemies easier, it's a lot easier to just find a grind spot and keep killing the same enemies over and over to get the required souls you needed, and this is where I feel like the game could be falling short. Instead of having the player grind for the upgrade, make the main enemies a little tougher and give a better soul reward for killing them.

One of the drawbacks that I felt towards the game was the hit detection and invulnerability frames, it just seems like there is none, and I get that the player is allowed to roll out of danger, but, it feels almost impossible at times to get out of the way, and before your last hit gets registered, you are just open to another hit practically right away.

At the end of the day, it's still rewarding, it's still fulfilling & it's still fun to play this game, although it does have some faults, and I do want to keep those as faults, it's not a bad game, and it's worth $20 for a nice 12-15 hr game.

    tl;dr
    Pros:
    -Fun and Rewarding
    -Challenging but not Brutal

    Cons:
-No I-Frames for Extra Reaction Time
-Required Quest Items Not Located In Level, but, in Hub World

    Overall rating: 8/10

I am going to come out of the gate and say that I was not the biggest fan of the combat. I thought it was serviceable, but for the most part I found myself being aggravated by the dodging and fighting more than I enjoyed it. However, on a somewhat different note, I really really enjoyed the story, atmosphere, and world. The creators did a wonderful job crafting a story that makes you feel like you are just tagging along on a grand adventure with the crow. I also want to say that especially for one section (you will know if you see it) I was greatly of Spirited away - the critically acclaimed studio Ghibli film... I loved it. Also, in a somewhat contrasting viewpoint to my previous critique, I enjoyed the boss fights for the most part. The moves were obviously choreographed, and your interactions with the characters before the fights are great comical relief. The ending of the game is somewhat deeper than the rest of the game, and I believe the creators accomplished what they seemingly set out to do - create a AAA-like indie game with a fantastic story and world. I recommend this game to you if you are interested at all :) Thank you for reading! Expand

However I absolutely adore this game. Tonally I enjoy the whimsy mixed with dark sensibilities, I honestly wish there were more story beats to the game because I greatly enjoyed the writing. In a couple of the boss areas the bosses make multiple appearances to talk to you and that gives them so much more personality. The gameplay has been "meh"ed. (Yes, I used "meh" as a verb). I very much disagree with that sentiment. When people say that they are saying there isn't much innovation in the gameplay from start to finish. Which is completely true. You do get extra abilities but they are more for puzzle solving and getting around/through terrain. However the combat is very solid and challenging at times. My right hand thumb is in quite sore from the tension of those boss fights and room challenges.

DETAILS: You are a silent protagonist , a crow tasked with soul retrieval. In the very beginning you lose a soul and essentially you will die eventually unless you get it back. Also you in an afterworld of sorts? Maybe this is purgatory? I'm not exactly sure. In order to get it back you need to open death's door which only the power of three giant souls will accomplish. The checkpoint system is very well done imo. Your hub area, where you upgrade stuff and occasionally find story side information in is linked to the explorey/fighty world by doors that you uncover as you travel. Between uncovering doors the area between doors is shortened by releasing gates/ladders/etc so if you die it doesn't take too much time to get back to where you were. Also there is no map, which I am told is a Dark Souls thing. This isn't too frustrating as the world feels connected enough for it to be memorable. However because there are some metroidvania elements it would have been nice to mark places you want to go back to once you get the upgrades to traverse the area. Also, the game uses terminology "North, West, etc" but it's a little confusing to tell where directions are because there is no compass and the world is on an angle. It's not super confusing. You can figure out that North is actually Northwest on your screen. Just an itty bitty gripe.

Overall I highly recommend this game. Definitely going on my top favorite games of all time somewhere.

But as I understand it the game was mostly made by two guys and a bunch of freelancers, and for that size of a team what they've accomplished is quite impressive. The world is charming, the characters are original and the story is well made. People who like exploring, figuring out how things work, discovering secrets and uncovering a mystery should find this game quite rewarding.

Deaths Door is highly beatable with patience.. you kill enemies, youl lfind keyholes that you can activate creating a door or a checkpoint, you can go through this door to regain your health as well as spend your collected souls on upgrading you character, making them stronger or faster, youll be going through what feels like convoluted mazes, again collecting souls, throwing switches, youll find seeds that you can plant in these pots to regain health as well, but if you die you restart at the last door you opened.. which thankfully isn’t too far away.. the game does a great job at spacing these doors out and allowing you to unlock shortcuts as you progress souls style.. and thankfully you do keep all of your souls even if you die, you don’t have to go recollect them.. but this game is great, its fast, its fluent, it demands patience, it demands learning enemies and their attack patterns.. never feeling cheap except for one enemy you fight a couple of times… that enemy is garbage and feels almost random.. but other than him, I loved deaths door, I loved climbing through these dungeons, collecting souls, freeing trapped souls, taking down bosses, getting to the games main targets, all of which are filled with such great charm, this is a really great world put together here.. my only gripe with deaths door however is just how in general “linear” has become a word of sin in the games industry and indie teams cant help themselves but make every level of every game feel like a giant overwhelming puzzle and maze.. and deaths door is no exception.. im fine with climbing ladders, figuring out routes, breaking walls, creating shortcuts, collecting keys, unlocking gates, backtrack and do what I have to do.. but when that’s the entire game, its exhausting, its tiring, it discourages me from wanting to press on… I need a break.. give me just one linear section now and then, please.. I have a tiny brain, I cant be doing puzzles and mazes for 10 hours straight, I nearly died myself.
Jokes aside, Deaths Door is a really special game that deserves your attention, but be warned, there will be moments if youre anything like me, where the game will just throw up on your screen and overwhelm you with all there seems to do to be able to move on.. and a lack of any sort of map doesn’t help in this feeling..
    I give Deaths Door

I had a lot of cheap deaths and it's really hard to say if the controls are involved, or if it's just that the main character is too slow from the start. You get upgrades for that, but you feel no differences from an upgrade to another. And that's a problem, because the monsters are getting harder but you stay relatively the same. You would have guessed it: there is no difficulty settings. You begin to hit a wall with the second big soul. I give the game 74%. I enjoyed the part I could play but I stopped out of frustration. This was a very well received game so I was excited to play it. Unfortunately, I do not see what all the hype is about.

I believe it's the visuals and the ambience that caused DD to launder itself to the hearts of many critics. The game has a creepy yet charming graphical style, merging black and white with more colourful and vibrant environments. Movement is smooth and fluid to create a feast for the eyes. At the same time there is a certain simplicity as nothing is extraordinarily detailed but carves its own identity. Having said that, some environments and enemies will get repetitive quickly.

The gameplay of DD is where it trips over itself a bit. I found this very basic and over-rated. If you've played The Witch and Hundred Knight (an obscure reference in itself) then you will feel the familiarity here. Trawling through dungeons you meet groups of largely the same enemies and solve fairly simple puzzles, familiar to Zelda players. The problems are the these enemies are annoying and repetitive, plus there isn't much reward for beating them. Unlike a game like Dark Souls, it's only worth beating them so you know how to do it - after that just run past them.

The level design leaves a lot to be desired. The backtracking and general tediousness was one of the main things that made me quite 1/3 into the game. The Hub area in black and white is a nice and novel idea, but in execution it's just really time-wasting to explore.

Speaking of time-wasting, this game does a lot of that. Between traversing overly-long levels and overly-long boss fights, this sinks some hours. This would be less of a problem if checkpoints weren't so unforgiving. Four hits and you're starting over - quite a challenge if you like it. However, I despise having my time wasted as it sometimes isn't my skills holding me back but plain bad luck or slippery controls.

I really liked the idea of the upgrades, but unfortunately their impact is miniscule, presumably until much later in the game.

DD really shot itself in the foot for me by early in the game asking you to collect four souls to continue through a door, which could be very annoying to find as they weren't necessarily in a logical sequence.

The story of DD is where it does go for something a it more original. The humour can be a bit amateurish and trying too hard, though. But, I enjoyed the oddball cast of characters I had met so far.

Overall, Death's Door is a nice attempt at something original and different, however many critics seem to be either going easy on it or being blinded by indie bias to give it some proper scrutiny. Death's Door is a fairly simplistic game that may test your patience more than entertain you.

Special mention to excellent visual cueing in terms of little things, like cracks on the enemy showing how much damage they've taken and constant breadcrumbing that entices players to regularly go off the beaten path. It even does that Metroidvania thing where it encourages you to return to previous areas with newly acquired traversal abilities to find new secrets. Combat is a little restrictive in that they really want you to commit to an "Attack-Attack-Dodge" sort of cadence, but that doesn't stop it from being solid. Cannot recommend it enough.

Portanto, recomendo.

The enemy challenge (bosses in particular) can be a little tough, but plenty fair and the little secrets peppered throughout each level gives plenty of incentive for exploration. But what really captured me was the art design though. From the excellent music to the animation and general feel of the surroundings, this game sets a good tone for the overall experience.

There's not a great deal I'll write other than this is a solid title and a must for those that love their hack n slash RPG's. Looking forward to seeing what these devs come up with next.

The examination of death in indie games has become a common theme, and still Death Door's commentary shines. As silly as many of the game's characters are, you really begin to feel for them, even most of the antagonists, as they struggle against the inevitability of death.

In Death's Door, you are introduced to a very odd assortment of characters. It sells them with a mix of whimsy and sentimentality. The dialogue strikes a delicate balance between these two feelings that leaves you both entertained and emotionally invested in the world you are presented with. There is so much comedic and emotional depth within the game's story and its characters.

Death's Door's combat is thrilling. Constant waves of enemies challenge you throughout all sorts of environments with a good amount of variety for an indie game. The relationship between your attacks and your magic meter is very basic, but it works. It feels very satisfying landing the few hits you can in between enemies' attacks and stacking up points in your magic meter to use from range as you avoid the next blows. The boss fights are a marvel. Each boss comes alive with expressive attacks and unique animations. The devs managed to take some truly wacky and creative enemies and represent each of them with epic, cinematic battles.

The soundtrack of Death's Door is among my favorite in any video game I've played. I was astounded by the quality of each song and how it added to the ambiance of each region of the game. The various battle music tracks are invigorating and elevate the game's scope tenfold. You will find yourself playing as a puny crow attempting to kill a giant, comical frog who sits on his victims, and the soundtrack will make you feel like it's the most important battle of your life. It allows Death's Door to transcend the boundaries of its setting and characters, blending with the significance of its message.

The weakest area of the game is undoubtedly its puzzles. They are generally quite easy to solve, and the repetition of the same kinds of simple formulas does dampen the overall positive experience of the gameplay. The concepts utilized had potential, but they were not developed well enough to stand alone. Fortunately, the beautiful environments, the combat, the mystery surrounding your mission, and the soundtrack carry you through those those moments happily, but the puzzles are such a core part of the game that their falling short can't be ignored.

Another thing I felt this game was missing was consistent challenge. I realize this is entirely subjective because I've heard that many people felt the game was more than sufficiently difficult. Games of this style do tend to be a strong suit of mine. There were some battles that I struggled with, but I very rarely died throughout my playthrough and I mostly found I did not have to utilize the healing plants, possessing a large collection of unused seeds by the end of the game. Even some of the game's hardest bosses only took me two or three tries to defeat, and that was while handicapping myself by keeping my base health and magic, without any of the collectable upgrades.

So, unfortunately, I greatly wished there was a harder difficulty option. It would have made Death's Door one of my all-time favorites, but even without finding it very challenging, the game was an extremely memorable experience, and ranks very highly for me.

The story is solid and intriguing without it being too store or exposition heavy. The enemy variety is decent, the bosses were all fun and unique as was the area design. Overall the difficulty level was good for me, those looking for a harder challenge might be disappointed though. There were lots of hidden secrets to find and some puzzles but none were too crazy hard, plus the game gives you hints for the more important hidden locations.
Critiques would be that the new weapons you pick up weren't all that enticing and i think most people will likely stick mostly to the sword. A map system might have been nice but for the most part, i didn't feel i needed one too much. Its also a relatively short game, depending on skill level, whether you use guides at all and completion % and whether you go for the second ending I think most players can probably get at least 1 ending in between 10-20ish hours and at least for me I'm not sure it will have that much replayability. That being said every hour I did have in the game was fantastic so I absolutely think its still great value.

Firstly, although the combat system of the game is very good for the company that made the titan soul game, but I noticed the uselessness of all the other "blades" for 98 percent of the game, because after receiving 2 daggers, I simply didn't need anything, he was superior to his fellows in all factors. Next, I want to complain about misunderstandings with platforming (a pseudo 3D game, but a 2D camera) and with the fact that with the wrong colors it is very difficult to navigate in space. Well, I also want to complain personally from me that here puzzles require knowledge of a certain spell that you open through the game, which firstly creates a complete linearity of passage, and secondly forces you to re-walk through all locations again if you want to pass 100 percent (thanks Darksiders). And the last minus, when you go through 4 boss (BETTY), which is very difficult mechanically, that is, you want a happy end after winning, you are shoved through exactly 5 minutes of dialogues by 1 more boss, who, although awesome in style (reminded dark souls), is no less unpleasant, so after 5 minutes of dialogues, the final boss is shoved in 2 phases. This finished me off, because I passed them in 1 day ... Fuuh, finished about the bad... Now about the good) And there is a lot of it here. SOUND. A very pleasant sound that I dissolved into it, uncomplicated puzzles (except for what was said about them earlier) and very pleasant animations of the combat system. Well, the most important thing (as it happens with indie games with a big budget) is a very beautiful and colorful world and a very beautiful idea, I won't go into details, but I really liked it) As a result, I put 6.8 out of 10. The parts of Death's Door that are cool and worthwhile outweigh the parts that are boring, clunky, and not at all worth the while. But they're still there.

It might be lacking a bit in terms of variety of skills and combos at your disposal, but nevertheless, you will never feel bored while engaging in Death's Door combat. Hours will pass like a breeze as you play through the 8 to 10 hours amount of content present in the game, with an additional end game that will entertain you for an additional couple of hours. For those that appreciate a good soundtrack, your ears will be more than satisfied here, as the music really makes the beautiful art direction of the game and slick animations come to an even brighter life. Overall, I highly recommend Death's Door for anyone looking for a really sharp and high quality action adventure top view hack N Slash with a charming story and really high production value, you won't regret giving it a chance ! Positives:
+ The game feels very polished
+ It has a nice artstyle
+ It has some fun side characters (pothead or the cook)

    Negatives:
    - Huge negative: missing map/minimap
    - The combat gets kind of boring very quickly, because there is no real progression when it comes to combat abilities
    - 3 of 4 magic abilities are pretty much the same (ranged damage abilities with different kind of aoe/no aoe)
    - Not enough enemy diversity. The usual grunt types of enemies were the same in every area, just with different hats
    - Buying upgrades feels like nothing changed at all

All in all I think it is a decent game, so I would have given it a 7.
BUT the missing map is a terrible design decision, especially for players who want to finish the game 100%. There is a lot of back tracking to find stuff with new abilities (the hookshot for example), but it is an absolute chore to do that without a map. Also even progressing through new areas becomes a game out of going somewhere, realizing its not where you wanted to go, and going back. Half of my time playing this game was getting lost because of no map. Back tracking not included here.

Because of that flaw I stopped playing the game after 2,5 major bosses.
The game has lots of potential, but unfortunately it was wasted.

    Conclusion:
If you can live with getting lost constantly and with pretty much the same combat system from start to finish, you can get it. If not I wouldn't even try it out.

The game overall is tedious, and the exploration/combat system are the worst parts of the game. First of all the combat: It's so **** repetitive and for half of the time the magic is just filler [or utilized for mediocre puzzles]; there's a bit of choice for the weapons but they all feel the same, just with different skins. The exploration is just mediocre and feels nice only when you have to find the other weapons (even if the weapons themself are mediocre), it just lacks in every part that made the Zeldas so popular and interesting (a map would have helped). Nice character design, heavily inspired by Miyazaki. The game isn't that challenging, the yeti boss is just trial and error, but the other ones felt great. Loved the soundtrack. The game price isn't justifiable 15 euros would have been enough. The story is bland but enjoyable. The game rewards patience over skills, and overall is descriable as a switch game ported to pc. It's a nice experience if you're willing to forget about the horrible and not satisfying exploration. I wouldn't recommend it for people with ADHD or in need of constant stimulation/satisfaction. This game was a ton of fun. I enjoyed the combat, which is good, because there's much else to it. While it is somewhat simple, I found it appropriately challenging, and the game didn't overstay it's welcome.

The art style really worked for me. I did not push too far into post game, but I don't feel like I needed to in order to feel like I had gotten my money's worth. The story

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplay (1.5)
Let’s start off with the combat of this game.
    For The Magic System
There is the bow, hookshot, bomb, fire.
the magic system is pretty simple but you have to aim it.
the problem on console there is no guide to show where its going to hit unlike on PC.
This magic system works on a hold to charge to fire system, except for the bow where you can prematurely fire it. so its not an automatic .
The magic cost all 1 tick out of the mp field except bombs require 2.
It’s a simple and effective system in terms of magic combat.
    For The Physical System
There are 5 weapon in the game, where 1 is basically a difficulty weapon (do less damage).
    1 slow, 1 slow + crowd control, 1 regular, 1 fast.
the slow have a 2-hit combo, the regular has 3, and the fast has 4-6, I think. and each weapon has a different type of holding attack (R2 on PS5).
You can set up a good amount of builds but most people will stick with the regular or dps because of how most bosses are designed.
    For The Upgrade System
This game has an regular stat based upgrade system and magic/ability upgrade system.
The regular upgrade system uses soul power to upgrade your abilities, even if you 100 percent and collect every mass of souls you won’t be able to upgrade all abilities, you will be missing three.
you can upgrade your melee damage, base speed/dodge speed/dodge cooldown/, magic damage, make your combo work faster. it starts at (400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500) x 4
in my opinion, base speed and damage is the build I went for.
You can upgrade your magic abilities by facing an optional boss fights.
these upgrades adds optional bonuses like fire can now do extra damage over time, bomb no longer damages you, you can charge your arrow more, hook now can attack while pressing attack while you are using it.
    For Collectible system
There are 24 shinies , 50 seed pods, 16 shrines to increase health/mana by 2 each. There are mass souls that give 100 souls each that are scattered around.
they require magic abilities to get which are required to get some of the hidden ones.
the 24 shinies has some flavor text associated to them.
This game uses an an interesting top-down system in which the camera moves in certain situations.
The hardest part of the game are the annoying enemy waves which were the most difficulty notion of the game. They occurred very frequently it was started to get on my nerves 2-3 hours in.
The first two bosses had a way to stun them then the third boss was super annoying, had no way to stun, super aggressive, can only do a hit and run method. and no other boss had a stun chance which I really liked because it was an interesting design mechanic.
There are annoying parts with this game in regards of gameplay but it built a solid foundation. Its very simple but with how many times you do a wave battle type of system, especially in the avarice chests. The score is deserving of a 1.5
    Story (1.5)
Spoiler alerts of course, so the score is 1.5 and here is the time stamp to skip the story section.
the game has a pretty good start as any others. the game has lore that you can access after each new ability gained via books scattered about in reaper commission hall.
boss keeps talking about the deals with the lord of souls.
you find out about a certain individual near the end of the game.
you find out the main reason of the cause of why no new death/souls are coming about.
if you get the 7 tablets to get the secret ending which tells the grey crows backstory and the history of deaths door and basically showing the crow is done with that land.
I feel this game story is really basic, it doesn’t leave anything to interpretating unless you are talking about the ending. it’s a nice start to the start of the franchise. I would rate it a good 1.5.

    Music (1.5)
The music in this game is pretty good for an indie game. This might be hard to hear, I just don’t remember any memorable tracks from the entire time I played this game. not a single one comes to mind. Nothing stood out to me. even the boss fight tracks. It fit with the idea of bgm but not game music in my personal opinion. It just didn’t inspire me to look for the sound track outside of the game. it deserves a 1.5.
    Performance (2.5)
The performance of this game ran at a solid 60 fps with no dips anywhere.
    Deservers a 2.5
    Price Point (0)
I feel the msrp of 19.99 usd of this game sits very well within this game price range. It just feels right for this game to be priced at that cost. so no points will be taking off.
    Summary
Death’s door is a great attempt of an indie game of this type. The creators of titan souls have improved their style of games and found their strength in making a good game. the gameplay/music/story are very okay/alright in nature where you learn the story in a very open-book type of format. It’s a nice first attempt and im happy what the developers are cooking up next.
    7 is their score.

Death's Door builds a world that fully engages players in exploration, and it looks somewhat like an excellent fusion of The Legend of Zelda and Dark Souls series. Although the ability design of this game is somewhat lacking in new ideas and the volume of levels is slightly insufficient, it is an excellent work that cannot be missed for any fan of independent games.

From the distinct, sprawling domains of your three primary marks, to the adorably avian way your crow tilts and juts their head around, the game never misses a moment to delight you with some new wonder, and just when you think it’s run out of surprises; whether it’s a new tune, a beautiful vignette, or a quiet moment of empathy, it’s always got something else tucked underneath its wing.

Despite not doing much in terms of innovation, coupled with a pair of odd framerate issues, Death's Door is a fantastic indie game that seems to do almost everything right. A precise combat, gorgeous environments and a mysterious yet beautiful world, make this an experience you simply can't miss.
