Lo trovo un gioco con una meccanica innovativa, forse poteva esser limato ancora un po' ma ben venga il tentativo. Bello e accattivante.

I don't really like first person games. But this game deserves an exception. Great atmosphere and interesting storyline. Gameplay built on a time loop is super. Plus good graphics.

Update: 1 year after this game was released and shortly after the XBOX version is released and I'm still getting crashes on a regular basis. Guess what game industry, if your game crashes every 20 minutes you can't make it roguelike! This is at least the 3rd chance I've given this game. There's something to like about it, but there's too much frustration. You're out Deathloop!

This game can be fun, but it can also be infuriating. Overall, it's an okay game, but maybe not worth the hassle of the punishing game mechanics. If you're into repeating the same thing over and over, this may be for you. I was over that style of video game in the Nintendo Entertainment System days.

The story is mildly interesting. It's mostly told through found letters and voice recordings, though there's also some banter between the main character and the antagonist and some okay cut scenes here and there. It's a bit hard to follow though, since you're getting it piece by piece in a very non-linear way. That's okay to do (i.e. Memento, The Sexy Brutale, The Forgotten City), but it has to be done well and that's not really the case here.

The combat is okay. It's a passable shooter. Feels a bit like Fallout New Vegas. Gunplay feels a somewhat jerky and your guns are fairly underpowered. Considering that when combat starts you almost always get mobbed, it can get frustrating. So far there's a pretty small variety of weapons, but they pad it out with weapon buffs.

My main gripe with this game is the cheap deaths. You get mobbed, your weapons are weak, occasionally enemies have super powerful weapons and seem almost invincible. There's parts where the game just kills you outright and you need to find some items/info to avoid that happening. The problem is you then have to start the day over, losing potentially a considerable amount of progress.

I'm a big fan of the timeloop mechanic in general, but it's done very poorly here. More often than not it's just a mechanism for punishing you and padding out the length of the game by making you repeat actions. I don't find that fun at all. And again, it's especially punishing here because you have to repeat everything you did the entire day and you lose any items you may have picked up along the way. Timeloops are supposed to be a vehicle for interesting storytelling, where you get a little more information each time the loop resets, not way to make the player do the same thing over and over again.

I'm 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through and I'm on the verge of rage quitting this game. There's so many cheap deaths and this game has a heavy handed rougelike style save system which doubles the frustration when the game decides to kill you off. So far 20 hours in I've had almost as much frustration as I've had fun with this game.

The game might be great, but I will never know, as it is optimized by monkeys.
    I have a pretty decent config (Ryzen 7 3700X + 16GB RAM + 3060RTX) and it won't stop crashing, whatever graphic settings I try.

The same I was expecting from Deathloop. But you just have to stop comparing it to other Arcane Studios games. It is very different even though it uses some of their gameplay mechanics. Story is great, locations are big enough, but not overly huge, characters are interesting and their voice acting is incredible. The game doesn't put you inside boundaries, so you are absolutely free to play the way you want. The only problem I had is laggy PvP, but I'm sure it will be fixed. Also, I didn't have any performance issues, playing on 2K monitor with max settings, but many people were not as lucky as me. My favorite Arcane Studios game so far, still can't finish exploring the world after 30 hours and finished main story line. Expand

In my opinion this is not at all the case. While a rocky launch really hurt this games review it has a lot more to offer then most would have you believe! In a setting of mystery, science fiction with a groovy disco aesthetic characteristic of the 1970's Deathloop hold its own as a masterclass in style and substance.

Story - In Deathloop you play as Captain Colt Vahn, who wakes up on a strange beach on a strange island where you very quickly learn a few things. 1)You're stuck in a time loop where every time you die or reach the end of the day everything resets. 2) This island is full of cultists of the The Visionaries, mad scientists, who all want you dead. 3) There is a woman named Juliana and she is actively hunting you every loop. This is about as far as I can go without spoiling the story but from here Deathloop manages to expand the narrative to and what happened with the characters on this island and how you as Colt are supposed to break this loop! Hopefully...

Gameplay - From a purely gameplay perspective Deathloop is nothing out of the ordinary. It Pulls elements from games like Dark Soul in the multiplayer invade system and stealth gameplay ala Dishonored (Another Arkane title) and mixes it with everyones favorites indie genre, Rogue lites, to create a engaging and well thought out gameplay... LOOP. Essentially as Colt it is your job to traverse the island each day, discovering clues, killing Visionaries for upgrades and completing leads, this games form of quests, to progress the story. This Affords the player an insane amount of choice from run to run. All with its own benefits and consequences. Do you hunt a Visionary this time in search of a quick level up or skip that to collect information? Should you track a lead on a rare weapon or complete a side quest which might unlock an alternative route to a new Visionary. The choice is all yours, so choose wisely. This paired with an interesting but unique combat system, kind of like a run and gun dishonored crafts and experience unlike Arkane games has released to date.

One last aspect I should mention is Juliana. While she does play a huge role in the story, there is one unique feature of Deathloop that stands out because of her. That is that other players can choose to play as Juliana and invade your game at a moments notice. While this won't happen every run, when it does it makes game play much more intense, especially if the Juliana invading is player controlled. These tense battles of wit and creativity are often the highlights of the game and resulted in the most memorable moments for me personally. Fair warning, some people do hack in this game (which sucks) but you can turn off the online feature and only face comp Julianas, which are not as fun but I digress.

All in all Deathloop is a strange amalgamation of things which come together to form quite the intriguing and fulling experiences from start to finish. I'd recommend it to anyone who loves Arkane games like Dishonored or Rogue Lite titles in general.

Unfortunately, the potential falls flat on it's face after it's discovered very early on you can save weapons and skills from being reset for relatively little cost, and the puzzle of assassinating all targets within a single day becomes embarrassingly easy to solve. Stealth quickly proves itself to be useless and at that point, most of the levels turn into shooting galleries. The ending answers perhaps one or two of the biggest questions the player will have at the end, but most questions regarding anything regarding the timeloop are forgotten during an ending that lacks any sort of satisfying resolution. A charismatic lead, the world design, and a slightly interesting twist keep this game above mediocre long enough to make me disappointed the rest of the game couldn't live up to it's potential. Story and Gameplay are phenomenal but it just feel like the same garbage that is aimed at 12 year olds. By that I mean its very repetitive and it has a ton of unnecessary swearing in it that could have easily been taken out. But overall a good game but would only recommend buying if its on sale.

This game is a confusing mess. It's basically like doing 100% achievements in an open world RPG, except it's not RPG and you get only 5 small maps. I played it for about 6-8 hours, when I found out that's the whole purpose of the game, I shut it off and never looked back. Who in the world can think this is engaging?

On top of that, do you know what really compliments a boring slog with a few maps? The worst saving system in the history of gaming. You cannot save during a map, there are no autosaves, you have to spend 45-60 minutes, slogging through the same boring unengaging NPCs otherwise you lose progress. Oh, the game crashed? Tough luck mate, you lose 100% progress. Godawful.

I'm not giving it a one because the concept of timeloop has minor appeal, the NPCs and the story make a little bit of sense but forcing me to play the game to get the story is a big no-no, I'd rather play 30-40 hours of minesweeper over this as it has more variety.

Too much hand-holding, some glaring omissions in the narrative and its somewhat weak AI do let Deathloop down, but still, it’s a rare and exciting game made for both fans of Corvo Attano and those who never set foot in the Empire of the Isles before.

I applaud Arkane for switching up the Dishonored stealth/action formula here, and for addressing a few of the issues Dishonored had. Deathloop just feels too limited by comparison, though, and too repetitive by half besides. I know a lot of people who really like it, but it fell pretty flat for me.
