    Except for some little bugs, the fact that each server has different movement setups and the missing map versatility it puts you into stunning battle action with great teamwork capabilities without the boring waiting while others camp around for hours in case you died.

    DoD:S is an amazing WWII shooter that i can easily play all day if i don't whatch it. It is simply my favorite game besides CS:S.

    one of the best 1st person shooters and war time gaems around, realy realistic and doesn't require to download hunks of mp3's. realy easy to have playable mods, that actuly work on another persons server.

    very good game, it is a shame there are so few maps but that is being rectified. The accuracy of the guns is quite lame. In general making comparisons, it is far better than most of the steam games. The general game play i found to be very accurate, not like most games where you shoot someone with three magasines and they are alive.     This game is nothing short of pukker... Its current 80 rating is unjustified. I played it on the free weekend and literally played it all weekend. It is hard to start with as sniping is a major part to the game however whereas in CSS its frustrating and hard to find cover going prone and crawling for cover is all part of the intense fun.     The best WW2 mod available due to size of maps and the array of weapon choice. The HL engine runs the greatest out of all FPS. Battlefield makes a close 2nd to this game.

    WW2 multiplayer action at its best. Fast paced action, awesome source engine, and realistic weapon behavior make this game a real winner. bullets really hurt in this WW2 game. 2 or 3 shots will kill you. not like other games where you can get hit 20 times, live get health packs, and then keep on fighting as if there is no tomorrow. Kudos do Valve, who have done it once again.

    I LOVE IT! Only thing I miss is that the game should have more Nations (Russia, Japan or GB) and that you should can find some granates in boxes on every map.

    Been playing for years now, although I liked it better before Valve took over, I still play every night, and I always play avalanche. Proof that playing the same map, over and over and over and over again for years is still FUN!

    My Favorite GAME!!! Best gaming(in despite of some CS players in the servers) not good resolution, but excellent game... I think Support is the worst... 3 days do download SDK, my ticket for 3 days expired in second map I wa playing (10 minutes) many days to send invites.

    I love this game, most negative feedback comes from players who are not accustomed to the playstyle and because of that get owned by more experienced players. And btw the hitbox issue was fixed in the 2nd or 3rd patch if I remember correctly. New maps have also been added to the game. Some "Camper Strike" players have lots of difficulties adapting to this game because camping and sitting I love this game, most negative feedback comes from players who are not accustomed to the playstyle and because of that get owned by more experienced players. It has a weapon for everyone. It is a team based game where if you don't work as a team you lose. DODS has two different modes of play point capture, and attack and defend objectives.     This game has amazing grahpics for the source engine.     Excellently paced world war 2 shooter, kicks the crap out of CoD2. Minor bugs pop up from time to time more associated with the Source game engine than DoD itself. I just wish there were more maps but theres always a very active community creating more and more everyday! Theres no better place to kill some time than a Day of Defeat Source server, come and play you'll love it!!

    Good graphics, and amazing fun. Find the right server, and you can have loads of fun on user created content. Balanced classes and limitations keep the game fun and flowing. Does suffer a bit from repetitiveness and overpowered weapons. Could definitely use some updates to balance those, but still great fun.

    It actually feels like they took a step back from the original DoD with this one. Apart from the updated graphics and physics engine, there really isn't anything that is done better than the original which is kind of disappointing. Unlike CS:S where the graphics and gameplay was made better, DoD:S doesn't feel all that great. Movement is unrealistic and the ironsights feature on the rifles is just not what DOD was about. If you want ironsights, play COD (which II really enjoyed the original, but this game feels like it falls short.     This game takes every I liked about the original and rips it all out. Instead of a tense, methodical WW2 game with balanced weapons, it's just a run and gun shooter where players move inhumanly fast and shoot bazookas like the rocket launchers in quake. Worth some fun, but it gets a zero in my book for ruining such a fun, unique game.

    Atmospheric for a multiplayerwith great background noise, you dont have to be a geek on this 24/7 to stand a chance like counter strike, as it seems to reward you for cunning. Within seconds ur in ww2 and having fun, which is what it's all about. Graohics are good and it will be added to in time, so things too look forward too. GREAT!

    Like some of the reviewers, I enjoyed the gameplay of the old DoD much more. Mostly, I feel that the new one plays very fast and feels less real than the original despite more realistic graphics. If gameplay could be a bit more realistically paced and the levels a little less claustrophobic, I'd be completely on board and giving this new DoD a 10.

Some have complained about too much recoil, and don't realize that it's not very realistic to spray on full auto and hope to hit people. The classes and weapons have been tweaked for just the right settings. The only thing that makes it lose a point is the hud, which is way too big and bulky. Picking off people in the street with your rifle before a rifle grenade lands at your feet and blows you to high heaven. Cooking off a grenade so it explodes a split second before landing in a crowd of enemies. the courage, the heroism, the carnage and the intensity of small unit action has never been as good as day of defeat source. no game since the first dod compares to it. hope i see yall on the field.… Expand

    This is my Favorite game. I don't know why but I lose hours and hours playing this gem! The graphic improvement from the prior version is awesome. All in all Its pace and gameplay are better than any other shooter I have played.

    I'll never go playing a other game. Not expensive and you can go online 24/7 and play and play. If you are tired of playing the in same towns just look for custom maps.

    Fast and fun. Voice chat not just a plus, but necessary. Great communities if you can find them. Small balancing issues on maps, needs a full server for best results. I suggest looking for 30+ slot servers only.

    I expect to be playing DoD a lot more than "Couterstrike: Source"... I recommend DoD:S to the multiplayer action crowd, but don't come crying to me when things start getting stale.

    While the game still needs some patching, and is unfortunately not DoD as we know it, this is still an absolutely fantastic package; those after a new multiplayer shooter can’t really go wrong with this one. Oh, and expect this score to go up over time as Valve patches out various problems.

    While a lack of maps cuts into the game's value somewhat, Day of Defeat: Source still offers a satisfying and exciting experience for those who just can't get enough of World War II.
