The gameplay if fun and the story is interesting enough. The world is pretty to look at, but could be more interactive. The character building seems very unguided, but you figure it out after sometime in game. All in all its an alright experience at the moment that can definitely be better once its polished up some more.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of those amazing games that you get every once in awhile. Similar to a Fallout game, Cyberpunk offers a giant, dense open-world with plenty of side jobs to do. Other than the missions and side missions, there's not much to do other than random events. Or at least, from my 15 hours of gameplay, that's all I could manage to find.

Other than the missions and side missions, there's not much to do other than random events. Or at least, from my 15 hours of gameplay, that's all I could manage to find.

However, given the open world isn't like Grand Theft Auto, and the driving mechanics are bad, I still think the RPG elements and story are the strongest parts of the game. As I'm writing this review, I see someone saying "The gunplay is clunky and unsatisfying. Stealth is uninspiring." and to that I say, it's an RPG experience. The reason the gunplay is clunky is because your character isn't a trained gunman, and they need experience before they get to the point where you are running around headshotting everyone with a single bullet. But until that point, you are an untrained mercenary who is trying to reach the top. The same can also be said about the stealth mechanics. You're only as good as you make your character to be. Think of an RPG like The Elder Scrolls, you're not going to be a master swordsman at level 1.

I really want to get into this game with this review, but I also want to stay spoiler free. All I can say is that this game has already made me cry with it's story telling. If you ever have the chance to experience this, I highly recommend doing so.

When this game works, its a fun and exhilarating experience. I found myself forgetting that this was a game which is a testament to engaging the experience was - WHEN IT WORKED. There are so many bugs that just completely ruined the immersion. dying from falling less than a foot, falling off your bike from a 2 MPH collision while staying on after hitting a wall at 120 MPH, people spawning in walls or props, dialog being randomly unavailable, random T-posing NPCs, the list goes on and on. I also want to mention that this game barely runs at 60 FPS because it for some reason does not fully utilize my GPU. I have a 2060 super, and it just scratches 60% utilization. I really want to give this game a good review, but its hard to do so when CDPR had 9 years to make a game and botched it this bad. I want to reiterate, this game is really good story wise. The game does a phenomenal job developing it's characters and making you really care about them. The voice actors clearly put a lot of effort into the job and it shows. The environment looks absolutely beautiful and really does evoke feelings of a futuristic dystopian America ruled by gangs and mega conglomerates. but all of this good is overshadowed by game breaking bugs and glitches. I would recommend buying the game - just not now. I hope that this game gets the 'No Man's Sky' treatment and all of it's bugs get ironed out. TLDR; good game story wise, don't buy yet. wait for bug quashing fixes and performance improvements for the best experience Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I play it on older version of ps4, downloaded it on preorder time and have more then 24h of playtime so it's not surprising that my graphics of game is bad - visuals are not impressive at all (found other games that was released this year much appealing for me, game screen looks blurred and muddy. But I can't took that for negative because I do have old ps4 and I'm happy that i can play it. So let's start with exploration - open world is often fantastic, choice seams to be endless, sometimes I get lost in choices and side quest that hour later i forget what i actually wanted to do. I didn't find any bugs or glitch there.
But negative side is that I found city quite empty, there are few npc wondering in streets and even less cars so I was quite disappointed in that aspect of game. I don't see reflection of me but customise of your body is terminala (you are stuck with same hair, tattoos and similar thing's) but clothes are brilliant. I just scratch main mission but earning money is quite hard and realistic.
I have 5 blue screens and crashes of game, some bug's of levitation objects and missing objects in story missions and when I kill someone gravity is ridiculously bad. Was it worth of wait for ps4 players NO, did I expect more YES, BUT Ilove characteristics and reality of game that I don't mind first person gameplay ...

I still like it, 15 hours in, but its slowly starting to burst in the seams. I think a lot of other games have done what Cyberpunk wants to do better, so it's not a "same but better" situation. Sadly it doesn't do anything best in class, I think it crumbles under trying to do too much and not doing anything great. They've cut so many corners it's mind boggling. So few weapons and generally ways to approach combat, pacifist playstyle is just shoe-horned in via mods that magically turns your weapons non-lethal and very few react to you playing pacifist (unlike even the oldest of Deus Ex games).

I just don't know. I mean I want to love this I really do but its just not that good.

Had they waited longer or maybe pushed a limited beta a couple months ago they could possibly have fixed the worst bugs for sure.

My recommendation for people wanting to buy this game is to wait a couple of months, it will be in a much better state since they are collecting bug reports and pushing updates to fix them.

My prediction is that this game could possibly become a solid 9 IF they commit and keep fixing stuff along the way.

    2. Even top tier PCs cannot handle the game at playable frames at any given time.
    3. I spent 1500$ and my PC still cannot run the game and I kept crashing at prologue for atleast 30 times!
    4. We're all so caught up with crashes and bugs that no one actually dives deep to explore how horrible AI and police system is in this game.

You get the feeling of ubisoft games like watch dog with all the collectibels, the bad driving and the stupid npcs. The story is solid and i like the gunfights. If I will need to summarize the game in one phrase it would be "You are an observer, not an actor. The show is pretty, but you can only make it louder, quiter and choose the ending."

    Let's start with the good.

Writing is decent. When hot-stuff newbies try to rob the mega-corp, you expect the poor bastards to be found and gunned down in few hours - AND THEY ARE. No magic here, powers that be come and crush you. The script is logical and consistent, characters are decent, they have their reasons and world is pretty deep and gives you what you expect from cyberpunk.

It is good at giving player atmosphere, with music, flashing lights, and all. You simply need to stay on the quest railroad and it will be fine.

And yet, Cyberpunk 2077 feels like a mix of witcher 3 and DAO origins, and in a bad way. It took the idea of prologue and backgrounds from the Origins but failed to understand the meaning of it (spoiler: choices). From Witcher it took the time-limited dialogue options, "the ending will be decided by one choice in one quest" and railroading.

Basically, it is not an RPG. It is a game that is trying very hard to pretend (not to be) one. It gives you flashy upgrades, customization, backgrounds, but utterly fails to deliver any development on them - there is no use of customization, the background will only unlock a few meaningless dialogue options with no consequences attached, and the upgrades are simply percents of extra damage - no new actions or abilities. Looking at you, Aard from Witcher.

It should have been a corridor shooter - damn, the game is on its best when it ignores the open-world completely and just teleport you from one mission point to another - and stop pretending to be an RPG. There is no roleplay involved. It is basically a movie with the opportunity to shoot at bad guys, but without any influence on characters by the player. You can only choose the ending from 4 pre-made by the developer. You are an observer, not an actor.

It is Mass Effect 3 level of "your choices during the game do not matter, lol".

I will give it 7/10, because the core of the game is well done. They simply should have dropped the open world and put it into a small, local railroaded corridor shooter with a lot of choices. As it is, it is half-baked at best.

The last patch "1.04" fixed the performance barely. But it is improving. Also some bugs are less frequent. But bugs and performance aside the game feels cheap and lacks in pretty much every way:

    -INTERACTION WITH NIGHT CITY-
The game feels lifeless, I'm obviously not expecting a Sims like experience but you can't interact with the environment you'll visit bars, markets and lots of interesting places that are completely useless and have no interaction whatsoever, also npcs won't react accordingly to the environment they just walk and walk lol wtf. Your apartment feels like the only interact able place in night city but has no use or customization.

    -CUSTOMIZATION-
You can't customize your character with prosthetics in the character creator, half of the npcs have them and you only get to use cyberware as a weapon but not as customization. That's lame. -SOME REMOVED FEATURES-
Also they removed wall running and I haven't found a way of using mantis blades for climbing , and I see why, this features were buggy AF that's why they removed it. - AWFUL PERKS AND BUILDS -
Wanna build some sort of cyberpunk assassin? Yeah using blades won't trigger animations when assassinating enemies , you'll always use your bare hands. Wanna throw blades like knives ? Yeah you won't be able to retrieve them back lol, also have a great time finding blueprints for blades or spending thousands in knives.

    - RPG ELEMENTS -
Progression of the character is that bad but RPGS should let you build your class and and have actual impact in your desitions. Like I said If you would like a specific class the game won't let you build that , not even close as we would like. There's a lack of real or impactful desitions, imagine having main characters die just because, lol where's the planing and the desitions making where you actually get a way of getting different outcomes???? Dude they even said that V is a mercenary and that you're not able to join any gangs (factions) wtf is that ? Is this an RPG or a gta with a already set character, this isnt an RPG they even lied in that. - CHARACTER ORIGINS - yeah you get your half an hour origin story but that's everything you get. You get some responses here and there depending of your character but they're so lame and don't really give you a different playthrough. - CONCLUSION - man it is difficult having so much hype and then getting this incomplete experience. No wonder why their stock dropped hard. Would I recommend this? Yeah maybe some dlcs and patches later , but now the experience is disappointing. They shouldn't give release dates, they said "coming when it's ready" just leave it like that ! Am I dying because the game won't fill my expectations? No not at all, but I freaking payed for a product that was marketed in a fake way. Playing on pc is bad , but console players get it even worse and CD Projekt said this runs and looks good on consoles but that's also lies..

Am I having a good time? Well , I'm trying to but I can't feel immersion or have 100% fun having missing textures, slow performance with a decent pc, cars popping, falling from the sky, Quests bugs, inventory glitches, lame lifeless world, very few to no interactions with a world that has details but is useless. Do I hate CD Projekt or cyberpunk? No , i'm just using my right and free of speech to express my concerns about a product I bought.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To my great regret, Cyberpunk is not the game I wanted to see. The developers removed from the release version everything that attracted me to the game since its announcement. Running on walls; a system of reputation that REALLY affects the game world; a system for making REALLY important decisions that REALLY affect the game world; a system of implants that affect the attitude of game characters towards you (and much more). No. None of this is in the final version of the game. All tasks are monotonous (kill 10 enemies in this location and take the chest with the reward or go there and save that person). That's all the "open" world of Cyberpunk offers. For me, Cyberpunk 2077 is the disappointment of the year.

P.S. there will be a spoiler Next (please be careful), but this particular moment in the game disappointed me so much that when I reached it, I no longer started the game. I just don't want to go back to this game world. Well. I'm talking about the death of our partner, Jackie. This is just a terrible moment from the point of view of the scenario and game logic. At that time, I had exactly 109 first-aid kits in my inventory. And I was not given the opportunity to give my partner at least 1 of them to save him! This is one. Two. This is the world of cyberpunk AND it is possible to replace any part of the body with a mechanical one. But we are not given the opportunity to save Jackie this way, although just a few minutes later we are saved, but not from a simple wound that was in the partner, but from a BULLET IN the HEAD. And I have a question: WHAT GUIDED THE SCREENWRITER WHEN WRITING THIS PLOT MOVE?! Death in the story for the sake of death?! Without the right to influence her in any way? Then let Jackie shoot DeShawn like he did us. Then it would be LOGICAL and we would know for sure that we could not save our partner! And so we just stole the right to choose in a game that promised a REAL opportunity to influence the course of game events! We were given a real opportunity to influence the game world back in the days of the first mass effect and dragon age, not to mention the first Witcher! But here-NOTHING. Just accept that you are in this game world. And all. Oh, and such was the potential! Such ideas and promises! But, alas. At this point in time, only Larian Studios and their Baldur's gate 3 give the player a real opportunity to influence something in the game world. You should be ashamed of yourself, alas cd projekt red.

Well... i’m gonna keep it short...

I like the game.. Alot! The story is interresting and i really like it. There is lots if content and thats good. But! There are way to many bugs, preformance issues. Especially on last gen consoles. That just at times makes it so damn frustrating

In my opinion wait a couple of months before getting the game, it’s great but there are way too many bugs

Cyberpunk 2077 is not the miracle child that every gamer wanted, nor is it trash like every person out to hate CDPR has to say about it. It's more in the middle, beautiful graphics, immersive gameplay and storylines. It's rare to find a game that actually takes care into their side stories, where even the rewards are apart of the storyline itself and actually mean something.

There are a lot of bugs I've come across, none game-breaking but some just out right confusing, like voices being heard across the room instead of from the person you're talking too. Other than the bugs that occasionally might pop up, the game is definitely one of the greats. Though in my opinion should of been kept in the oven for another year to get all those kinks out, but other than that this game is a solid 7 rating. Anything above a 7 or below a 5, should absolutely be ignored. Good luck, Samurai.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I created a metacritic account just to be able to rate cyberpunk 2077....wow, this alone should be enough for a rating, if you look at the score i give them.
And it is shamefully bad, I've got 2 big gamebreaking bugs so far and numerous small ones, from graphical to sound and so on. And I'm only 4-5hhours in the game, completing just a few main quests.
Once you are eventually immersed in the game, it throws you outta there with it's bugs. Flowing Food etc., not to be able to pick things up, citicens are crouching in fear even hours after there was a reason for it....and so on
    E. g., I parked my car in front of the homebase and overrun someone, police came, I excaped and ran back. Got to the appartement, slept a night, walked down and everybody was still crouching and wobbeling in fear.
Another sample, the mission with your first big braindance in the apartement. Always when I got out of the braindance (the tutorial braindance and the apartement braindance), I see my car parked on the street in front of the club from above, with walking citicens and driving cars, but Judy, V and Eve are talking and the game goes on, as if I am seeing everything from the eys of V (as it should be). Even when the braindance is completely over and I am allowed to walk again...I can see V move on the radar and I am able to talk to Judy, but I still am only able to see my car on the street from above (instead of a first person view from V).
After 8 years? WOW, this is really , really bad.

And what everybody else is writting, is true too, the citicens are only zombies, they talk some **** yes, but thats it. No interaction, whatsoever.
And of course no interaction with the world, absolutely nothing, except vending machines...vending machines, they are all over the place and absolutely useless (I mean the ones for buying drinks etc.).

Another one? Sure, the driving is so, so bad, compared with the little details from the minimap, you always drive past a turn or crossing, when you are a little bit faster, because when you see, you have to take a left on the minimap, you are already over it...

It feels as if there was little to no testing and absolutely no time for removing so small and minor bugs, which everybody must have encountered, who played the game for testing.

I played Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2, for them I would give the witcher 3 a 9/10 and Red Dead Redemption 2 a 10/10, but this one here...
    2-3/10

Has the potential the be a great game for example it has a very unique and thematic artistic design of the world and everything in it (and the soundtrack is awesome). The story and characters are some of the ok. The gameplay is serviceable and fun, but the loot, even though there is a lot of it, is stale and not diverse enough. The main and side quests are good and really make all of its drawbacks an extreme disappointment. Now to the drawbacks like the plethora of immersion and game-breaking bugs, that really hinder the experience and alone drop this game a point for me, especially the horrendously bad performance (until they get fixed). But the moment that was the most impactful for me is the moment I realized everything is staged and the world isn't really alive. For example, NPC A.I. is completely unfinished and arguably isn't even present. NPCs don't react realistically to anything you do or do not react at all, all have a one-line generic tough-guy response but **** their pants as soon as you do anything (like literally you shoot a guy in a nuke-proof car with a pistol and he runs out and squats begging for mercy). The police A.I. is also nonexistent as they spawn right next to you and can't even follow you so all you have to do is run away and since they can't drive cars (lol) you are home free. The city, while being incredibly beautiful and painstaking detailed, is dead, because there is so little to do in it, except quests, and it doesn't react to your presence in any meaningful way. But if and when all this gets fixed I will change my score and review accordingly, which there is a high likelihood of happening, since this is CDPR we are talking about. Expand

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
