Lots of bugs, I don't think it got with my expectations when ever I tried to immerse my self in the game one of other frustrating or immersion breaking bugs or some time crashes show up. I just completed witcher series and hoped to see at least a game of that quality or even better but I am utterly disappointed.

Followed the development of this game since announced in 2012. What a let down. I'm playing on PC (i7 9700k w/ RTX 3080). So much potential, yet you can clearly see where the cut content was suppose be. Lots of bugs. I feel for console players right now since this game was announced before the launch of the XB1 and PS4. CDPR (not the devs), you have let the gaming community down.

From the laughable 'RPG' aspect of the game to strange arcadey driving or the complete lack of interaction with the city / NPCs. The boring sponge-shooting fest that gunfights where you'll empty magazine after magazine into mindless AI, and shovel piles and piles of the same looking gun to clog up the already cluttered and horribly designed interface. The stealth approach is just an exercise in frustration and simply does not work. Most of the items you pick up are completely useless and only serve to make money or 'craft'. Aside from the main & side quests there is simply nothing to do in Night city.

Overall the game tries to convey a sense of complexity and depth but after the few hours playing through the prologue and completing a few quests you soon realise it was all just smoke and mirrors and that the game has the depth of a puddle.

I do not think any amount of fixes or DLC content can make this game any better than just 'mediocre' which is a shame considering the potential that the game's universe had.

If you re sensitive to minor bugs and visual glitches wait a bit before buying this game.
For me it is a great mixture of RPG and FPS. Game incorporates stelth mechanics and many others. I would say big tumb up to level designers for multiple angles you can aproach quests (side quests included) but its an open world so "level" is a lose term I used.
    World bulding exploration and stories

World bulding exploration and stories are a big selling point of this title.
Other mechanics were probably done a bit better in some other games targeted for these mechanics but I dont think you can find a game that allows you to use 50% of these in single title.
Check your hardwere if it can run a game in graphics your expecting and you are fine to go.

For motorcycles though first person all the way its fun as **** Everybody saying that the game is bad is just salty about the bugs and performance issues it has, which for ps4 and Xbox is not acceptable but they should've just delayed it only for last gen consoles. Police NPCs just spawn out of nowhere in front of you, do you want to know why? Because there isn't any AI for driving.

So much food stands but you can't even buy food or play arcades machines. The AI is the one the worst things in this game, their reaction from crime is atrocious and do nothing a normal person would do. Life choices don't mean nothing. After the prologue scene at the beginning, everything remains the same throughout the game. Crafting? This was added just to say they have more features.

Only 4 romance options 1 male and female for both genders. Only 2 prostitutes to interact with in the ENTIRE city.

You can't cut your hair because for some reason there's no barber in the entire map.

Don't even start with the insufferable amount of useless looting you'll have to do. There's no picking up everything button.

Aiming require a bit of changes in the settings to feel right. The UI at the beginning was tedious to look at. The screen was almost covered.

I played this on PC as well, so don't blame people that they need to get a new gen console or a PC.

Completely disappointing for a game we all waited for 7-8 years. We were lied to what CDPR marketed the game as the, "New generation of open world games".

Rockstar remains the king of Open World.

If you want the game to run better, I heard downloading the NVIDIA drivers makes it perform better. Also there should be a new patch that was released.

The map is massive and the city looks incredible. The graphics aren't the worst but isn't anything special. The driving is alright, the music is the best part. Voice acting is great but some dialogue are cringe.

This game needs few or several months of patching to do. But even then, the game feels like a soulless experience ruined by the limited interactivity and bugs in the game.

    in-depth review
    ==================================================
    1-Story:
    Not gonna spoil, but a certain turn of events clears the air about what "it's about saving yourself" means, and pretty quickly. Maybe too quickly. As "too quickly" as the game tried to forced us to care about certain characters, by simply throwing a 2 minutes montage at us. Dialogues feel like a mere excuse to make JALI shine, and the whole plot (including a few plot holes) feel rather lackluster;

    2-Gameplay:
If you are a controller type of gamer like me, you'll prolly be very disappointed. I'm not really sure what "Aim Assist" means in the game settings, but it certainly does not help with aiming, which remains a torture. Driving would deserve a chapter of its own, but let's say that at the time of this review, most of the cars felt like old muscle cars with 0 handling and poor braking power. At some point I've decided to simply fast travel to destination(s).
Hacking and other mechanics don't bring anything new to the table, while stealth sessions are probably the most frustrating: your companion typically screws them all, by following you like a drunk hobo trying to walk a straight line while you're trying to surgically sneak past enemies.
Speaking of drunk hobos: Melee combat. Seriously, I'm well past my 40s (and I went through a 30-ish rather long gaming "career") but I was yet to see anything as terrible as this. Not even 4D Sports Boxing on the Amiga 500 felt as terrible (and I'm talking about a game from 1991). Enemies benefit from some sort of perks that I wish to have, because they manage to deal damage through your "blocks", and somehow even get to hit you even while swinging in an entirely different direction.
I'm giving gameplay 1 point because it is so bad it brought me memories of what gaming felt like in the 80s/90s: Nostalgia point.

    3-Graphics:
I'd say the only 2 things that shine in this department are Night City and npcs Mo-Cap.
The city actually has the cyberpunk looks, even tho they just remain "looks". The so much anticipated (sexy) private shows are mere cosmetics *coff* baits *coff*: that felt rather depriving, for an heavily sexualized city as a cyberpunk city should be. Not to mention food kiosks, where you can't order anything (anti-covid restrictions?)
However, the sprawling metropolis is not flawless either, and you will notice it pretty quickly as npcs vehicles take incredibly sharp turns, and crowds frequently spawn/despawn, or bump into each other like mindless zombies (was that the reason why crowd density got nerfed?).
Dead npcs look like ragdolls from a 2004 game. They just unnaturally lie on the ground, legs often bent as if they were broken.
Npcs Mo-cap is top notch. Unfortunately, that alone is not enough to save the "Graphics" day.

    4-Audio:
Music is top notch, and in general, the whole environment features plenty of happy little audio details that cyberpunk fans are likely to appreciate (like the "walk"/don't walk" from Blade Runner).

    5-Technical (AI):
As I mentioned above, there's still lot to do in this department. Just one example out of many: I've accidentally shot a few rounds of my assault rifle and everyone around me ran away, in panic. Some of them remained out of my apartment door, crouching in fear, for days.

    Conclusions:
Guess this what happens when you let people who managed to sink a franchise as successful as Mass Effect on board. Or maybe, that's what happens when you pump hype to the roof. Not gonna lie, if this was a game I learned about just a few months ago, I'd prolly gave it 6 or 7/10. But the hype that came with it -and the continuous delays- raised the bar of my expectations to the point I couldn't avoid calling cdpr out on this.
That said, I'd like to think we should stay positive about the future: The Witcher 3 suffered from a very similar "troubled launch", and they managed to turn it into a milestone. I don't see a reason why Cyberpunk 2077 shouldn't face a similar fate.

    1. The NPCs and character would have shadows. The way NPCs move, looks like low poly characters.
    2. There isn't 3rd person perspective only because someone wanted to cut off the budget and went lazy. Can you see the main character V's shadow in photomode? Can V lean on wall with photomode pose? Hell V doesn't need to use lip in conversation and has way too limited animation. This shows how lazy the job was.
    3. Have you seen early game's car design? Looks like just made of trash canister. I don't know about late game tho, but not getting any motivation to pursue any high end car. Don't tell me I need to watch their marketing to get that motivation.
    4. Ohhhh hoooo and the lies about being ready to ship and day1 patch. I didn't buy a $700+ hardware parts only to reduce the visual settings. Let alone the console guys.
    5. And why not supporting full ansel. If it was 3rd person game, anyone would have been satisfied with toggle between fpp and tpp as well as that in-game photomode. But the in-game photomode isn't true free camera and has some serious limitation. I wonder if cyberpunk can support nvidia RTX and DLSS, then why not ansel?

CDPR failed to make the game they wanted... and it's so frustrating.

Accounting for all technical glitches players have encountered, there are few aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 which one could call perfected and polished. Be it through creative indecision or a series of development errors, everyone can see the game isn't finished, leaving players with a game which is a jack of all trades but a master of none--scale and story being the possible exceptions.

"This approach to making games is not for everyone. It often requires a conscious effort to 'reinvent the wheel' -- even if you personally think it already works like a charm."

The result should create an ironic element of empathy or at least mutual understanding from both the developers and the consumers. CDPR wanted more for the game, and the players are now left feeling the same. The ability to live out unleashed cyberpunk fantasies aside, there are so many staples of a solid game that are missing. Accessibility features, toggle ADS, and full key re-mapping are just some of the technical norms missing. Those disappointed by the lacklustre character creator--no sliders and limited options to differentiate--won't be pleased by the non-existent capacity to rework their character once into the game; not even the hair can be changed for there are no barbers. Is this an oversight by a seasoned developer? Perhaps, but more likely it was a feature they ran out of time for or it had to be pulled from the game because it wasn't complete or fully implemented. Without purely cosmetic clothing slots and vehicle and apartment customisation--yet more features seen in the Witcher to varying degrees--the immersion is hindered, and it's difficult to truly feel like V is our character. Police spawning behind the player in response to crimes, amateur driving AI, and limited street-side AI reactivity make the deep and commendable world feel like a facade. The cybernetic modifications pale in comparison to Deus Ex's and the driving feels clunky compared to any other non-driving specific game. There is no cover system, and interaction with the world is largely non-existent. The worst accusation in this vein is that Cyberpunk 2077 isn't an RPG, as it was marketed prior to release--now CDPR are calling it an action-adventure game.

And despite all that, Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a bad game--it's terrific. You could accuse it of flattering to deceive and make a good argument that it has disappointed, yet the redeeming features such as gunplay put it on par with existing titles. It isn't next generation by any means, in some instances it's lagging behind and lacks creativity, and that's a shame when the city--the Cyberpunk 2077 world--has been so carefully crafted. With the scale of Night City and all the quests in it, you could easily get lost, unless you should choose to bypass it all with the primitive quick travel system. It's almost prompted with the awful vehicle handling, but then you'd miss out on the fine compliment of music Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer, even if the radio menu slows the gameplay and is as barebones as it gets.

The biggest disappointment is that most aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 come with a caveat. There are awesome looking and function enemies, but they appear too infrequently, replaced by run-of-the-mill goons. V and the cast around him/her are well written, yet they are by and large the only NPCs you can interact with. Reams of lore exist around the cybernetics; they sit on the side lines. CDPR have learnt from their development of the Witcher series, and forgotten some basic principles along the way. The signs are there that Cyberpunk 2077 once had broader horizons, and maybe one day we'll be able to explore them. It's a pity that today, however, it only spars with its competitors when it really should have outmatched them.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
