The only downsides that i don't think can be patched are hacking (but i think i just need a little more time to get into it) and fist fight (but again maybe i just need a little more time to improve my momentum for counters) Expand

The good- Story, Graphics, Art direction. If these weren't as good as they are, this game would be a 4/10

    The mediocre-

Combat- It's fine, but not even close to as groundbreaking as CDPR lead us to believe.

Weapon options- There's a number of weapons that are semi unique to Cyberpunk, but it's mostly
    pretty bog standard weapons.

Driving- Again, it's "fine". No where even close to as good as GTA V, way better than Watch Dogs 1.

    The bad-
Buggy, poor performance, pop in issues, audio crackling

Immersion- There's very little immersion in the world. You can't interact with arcade machines, sit and get a drink at the bar, etc... this would go in the mediocre section except for the fact CDPR marketed this as the "most immersive open world game ever". BS.

Customization- Outside of the initial character creator(which is "meh" at best anyways), the only customization is clothing, which you can't really enjoy since the coolest looking threads have poor armor ratings, and no transmog. Can't get a haircut, can't repaint your nails, get cyber contacts, can't decide to swap your dick for a cyber-vag.

    AI- Garbage, plain and simple.

Civilian NPCs are lifeless. They just do their pre-scripted actions and thats it.

Kill a gang member that HAS A BOUNTY? 5-10 Cops appear out of no where to murder you. Be in the general vicinity of a cop? They attack, and then 5-10 Cops appear out of no where to murder you. Kill just about anyone outside of a mission, even if you're miles away in the badlands with nobody around? 5-10 Cops appear out of no where to murder you. Somehow run away with your life after 5-10 Cops appear out of no where to murder you? Cops completely give up the chase, there is zero car chases outside of missions.

I don't know why they delayed that game for month.
They said it's to ensure that everyone can play it at the same time with the same standards.
So why did they program a pile of dirt that didn't even start? No help from the devs, latest drivers and all that stuff .. won't start.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After 30 hours in the game, I can say it was a frustrating and disappointing experience due to the innumerable technical issues with the game in terms of performance and bugs. TL;DR this game had no business being released on PC.

I used an EVGA GTX 1080ti SC2, an i7-6700k, an SSD, and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2400 MHz.

Here are the most memorable bugs I experienced (light spoilers, although I will not mention story elements by name)

    -Characters stuck in weird poses
    -dialogue not playing
-Pressing c sometimes freezes the game until you press escape
-explosion sounds and visual effects from a cutscene continue when you start playing again
-Player will die for no reason on flat surfaces while stationary due to physics bugs causing massive fall damage
-player will move at ludicrous speeds even though they are supposed to just walk, sometimes leading to death
-certain items (like the Black Unicorn) can be upgraded a seemingly infinite number of times
-dropping bodies down will fling them at high speed, causing detection
-enemies can detect player character through hard cover like vehicles or walls
-smart weapons often do not function when shooting at targets even with a Legendary Smart Link and confirmation of lockon, with the bullets flying around in random directions. They switch between working and not working in the same battle.
-The "scan for a switch" objective in one of the main quests to unlock a safe will stay on if you scan it before the objective appears
-game will freeze randomly (too many to counts; > 20)
-game will crash randomly (three I can remember)

This is in addition to performance issues with my 1080Ti/6700K combo on 1080p. Everything was turned off or at low settings, and my GPU and CPU utilization were both low. Despite this, driving around had an average FPS in the high 20s-low 30s with constant freezes and high frame times. It was almost as bad just walking around, with an average FPS in the mid-to-high 40s while the stuttering, freezes, and low teens FPS caused even more frustration. During combat, having frame rates in the low teens was quite common, with combat usually leading to high 30s to low 40s being the norm.

I wasn't even able to hit frame rates above 65 in the menu. Again, this is with a 6700K, 1080Ti, 16 GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM, and an SSD. I shudder to think about the bad experiences of users with less capable hardware.

The specs on my PC are as follows:

    RTX 2060 Super
    i5 10600k
    16 GB Ram
    1 TB SSD
    750 PSU

My PC isn't some super high end god machine, but then again, its not a potato. I'm able to play the game in 1440p with max settings and Ray Tracing OFF. Personally, I don't care for Ray Tracing, and decided to turn it off as it makes everything look kinda fuzzy and lowers my FPS. The game runs flawlessly for me.

As for the gameplay itself, its COOL! Once you get through all the tutorial stuff and can really begin to explore the world, the game is beyond cool. The amount of side missions + Main story missions is insane! It bothers me to see all these cry babies review bomb such a great game. The story is great. The combat is challenging and fun. The voice acting is spot on. And overall world / story is just so damn cool! Needless to say, I love the game.

It has phenomenal gameplay and rewarding exploration, but the overall writing is a mixed bag. I'd say that the main quest writing often feels like too little has happened for any importance to exist: the exact opposite of the issue of the witcher 3-- being too long. Now should the bugs be forgiven? Maybe. People forgave skyrim and fallout 4 for the states those were in (and still are without mods), yet CDPR is actually working and fixing many of these bugs already within the first week. Just like the witcher 3 had extensive support throughout the years, I expect this game will get even better as it ages. It's not the overwhelming masterpiece that everyone wanted, nor does it really take a definitive stance on many cyberpunk related questions, but what it does do is show us small glimpses of humanity in a city practically devoid of it. I am not giving this game low score totally because of bugs. The gameplay is extremely boring and instantly put me to sleep. 90% of the game is talking with NPC's and the most disappointing part of the game is that you have access to so much customization but you wont even see it unless you look into a mirror. This game is one of the most overhyped games ever.

TLDR: Delayed 3 times only to present a 30fps game with buggy NPCs.

This game shows how game industry lies to their customers with their lazy jobs. Did this game took more than 8 years or a decade to develop? If that was true, 1. The NPCs and character would have shadows. The way NPCs move, looks like low poly characters. 2. There isn't 3rd person perspective only because someone

    1. The NPCs and character would have shadows. The way NPCs move, looks like low poly characters.
    2. There isn't 3rd person perspective only because someone wanted to cut off the budget and went lazy. Can you see the main character V's shadow in photomode? Can V lean on wall with photomode pose? Hell V doesn't need to use lip in conversation and has way too limited animation. This shows how lazy the job was.
    3. Have you seen early game's car design? Looks like just made of trash canister. I don't know about late game tho, but not getting any motivation to pursue any high end car. Don't tell me I need to watch their marketing to get that motivation.
    4. Ohhhh hoooo and the lies about being ready to ship and day1 patch. I didn't buy a $700+ hardware parts only to reduce the visual settings. Let alone the console guys.
    5. And why not supporting full ansel. If it was 3rd person game, anyone would have been satisfied with toggle between fpp and tpp as well as that in-game photomode. But the in-game photomode isn't true free camera and has some serious limitation. I wonder if cyberpunk can support nvidia RTX and DLSS, then why not ansel?

Over-hype, Aggressive marketing, big disappointment for a lot of people.
CyberPunk is clearly last year's good game, not revolutionary, nor particularly innovative.
I am quite disappointed with the way CDRP conducted this project until its release. I like many naively thought that the studio was confident in its realization; these last days have for my part blown the fuse of confidence

CyberPunk is clearly last year's good game, not revolutionary, nor particularly innovative.

I am quite disappointed with the way CDRP conducted this project until its release. I like many naively thought that the studio was confident in its realization; these last days have for my part blown the fuse of confidence with them.
They are not entirely at fault in this case (over-hype of the media, immense expectations of the players), but they keep a significant part by the silence knowing the result they will deliver.
I sincerely hope that CDRP will learn the lessons of this episode and do what is necessary not to plunge further into the dark side of current game publishers.

However Cyberpunk, is good! really fun to play, I don't have enough hours yet to judge the narration but the game is very immersive (thanks for the localization of the audio), the graphics are very good and on my pc (i7 , 1080,32rm) it runs very well and still smooth. I still haven't experienced any blocking bugs.

The gameplay in general is quite heavy to take in hand, but when you deepen the skills and the crafting you really feel like you become a real threat to your enemies. On the other hand, ergonomics and inventory management are a real mess, I have the impression of having become Geralt de Riv again: Kill, loot, sell, repeat.

Despite the very good experience that this game gives me and the credibility of its universe, I have a hard time ignoring the lack of interaction, life and atmosphere of the map: The NPCs are empty of interest, little diversified; The stores are very basic and not very widespread. But it's mostly the lack of interaction and attention to detail that often gets me out of the game, not being able to sit at a counter, grab and move objects, no public transport, etc. Sometimes you feel like a ghost in this city.

To conclude I rate it at 8/10, because I had saved myself from expectations and I must admit that I love this kind of gameplay and universe. I am captivated by the story and the game works great for me.
In short, this game does not disappoint me! And I totally understand why a lot of other people are.

CDRP, Your game is fine but please correct the course and be more humble for the future.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a great story game tainted by poor optimization.

At the moment, this is a real benchmark.

On my system of ryzen 7 3700x and RTX 3080, at maximum settings and RTX, at 2k resolution, extremely rare drawdowns of up to 45 FPS occur. Often when I ride a car.

Everything is great without RTX. But let's be honest, I don't have a cheap PC.

We need to wait for optimization.

The version of the game 1.03, the bugs I encountered especially in the key mapping settings, but it can be easily solved with the help of the config file.
The rest of the bugs mostly NPC that are not important to the plot, I did not have a bug that broke the game.
The game itself is a must for anyone who loves science fiction and cyberpunk, the decisions in the game affect the story and make the game more interesting and varied.
The city is huge! Full of activities and side missions outside of the story and that in itself is worth it all.
The gameplay is excellent, there is an option to sneak in and hack, there is a huge selection of weapons and upgrade options. The conversations with the NPC are really high level and interesting, the character of Jackie Welles is funny and fun to go out on missions with.
In short dear gamers, do not give up on this amazing game!
Do not let the negative review ruin such an amazing game for you, such games come out once a decade so go buy the game.

Haven't had crashes but I am really disappointed with the open world and the bugs and glitches that this game has.
It's ironic that a game about corporate greed was ruined due to corporate greed. This game is an unfinished mess and needs atleast another 6 months- a year of full development. Its open world is dead. Night city feels hollow at its core, there are little to none RPG elements in a game that's was hyped as the best RPG of all time and now they change the game's description as an action-adventure game ? **** hell cdpr...the corporate dystopia message was more explicit than I had hoped .

Before I start: I'm giving this a 0 primarily due to technical issues and bugs. If I didn't take those into account, I'd give it a 3. Which is to say - the game would still be terrible.

I'll focus this on the gameplay rather than the bugs and performance.

The gunplay is just straight up bad. This game will fall short compared to basically any other AAA shooter on the market. There's no feeling of impact, and every damn enemy is an obnoxious health sponge that takes multiple headshots to kill, even when built for damage. Unless you're using a sniper or some such, haven't tested those.

The stealth is also pretty terrible. Enemies are pretty much stationary, hardly move at all, and so there's very little to the stealth. Little to no thought seems to have been put into designing enemy movement patterns and sight lines in relation to stealth. And I'm pretty sure the game just checks if you hid the bodies and spawns in some enemies if you didn't, rather than needing patrolling enemies to actually find them.

The cops are beyond terrible. They just spawn right next to you when you commit a crime and start shooting, then vanish into thin air if you move more than 50m in any direction, not even attempting to chase.

Driving feels terrible. The cars feel slow and boring, and other cars just drive on rails with no AI and will just ignore it if you ram into them or some such.

Speaking of AI, the AI is terrible. If you shoot a gun in the air every NPC nearby will all take up the exact same cowering position at the exact same time. No running away, no reactions beyond screaming, no variety. The cops AI are terrible, as mentioned before. Enemy AI is terrible as well.

Melee is terrible. Enemies will literally teleport around trying to auto-track you, which feels like ****

The gear system is terrible. Your armor looks like mismatched **** and you spend the whole game looking like a toddler picked your clothes. And they don't even have cool stats. It's just putting on whatever has the biggest "armor" number on it, with no thought or interesting stats or choices. Same with weapons - just put on whatever has the biggest number on it, ignore the rest. It's basically the worst gear system I've seen in a modern RPG.

Crafting sucks too. Everything you make is worse than the **** you find, so it's just not worth the perks. What the hell is the point of making a crafting build if your crafted gear isn't so much better than regular gear it makes up for the perks you spent on it?

And the gear and perk systems are basically the only thing making the game an RPG. It has Role Playing Game Mechanics, but doesn't seem to have any actual Role Playing. You get basically zero ability to choose what your character does, how they act, etc. It's somehow even more on rails than Witcher 3.

The perks and attributes are boring as **** It's almost entirely number increases. The stuff that isn't is just poorly implemented. I bought a perk that lets me throw knives - neat! - and I can't even pick them back up again from the enemy body. WTF. Knives are a melee weapon, btw, which means you're straight up throwing away one of your fancy melee weapons each time.

The story is... average. It's just about the only part of the game that isn't absolute trash, but don't let that confuse you - it still isn't GOOD. You're introduced to a steady stream of characters throughout the game, then they're promptly shelved and you never see them again. You're expected to give a **** about people the game spends zero time fleshing out, often because the main character, V, somehow knows them or knows about them from before the game started.

The writing does seem to be at least a little self aware - sometimes It'll mock stuff like corporations forcing workers to work 80 hour weeks, for example, which is obviously a reference to the fact that developer CDPR is itself a dystopian capitalist corporation with no soul working their employees to the bone for the profits of corporate overlords.

And the main character V is, quite frankly, an annoying ****

CDPR clearly spent too much of their mandatory overtime adding **** and dicks, and not enough time on stuff that matters.

But hey, at least the advertising branch of CDPR looks like they're getting a raise because this game sold like ****ing crazy anyway. I guess stopping reviewers from accessing their ****ty console versions so nobody would know how terribly it runs worked out for them.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
