In this classic point-and-click adventure anthology you follow the path of Dale Vandermeer, a homicide detective, as he investigates the death of a woman and finds himself drawn into the mysterious world of Rusty Lake.

Cube Escape was Rusty Lake's first series of games, introducing the Rusty Lake universe. Heavily inspired by TV series Twin Peaks. All games will be updated, preserved and bundled on Steam for a small price, to survive the end of the Flash Games era. The Cube Escape Collection will contain 9 chapters: Seasons, The Lake, Arles, Harvey's Box, Case 23, The Mill, Birthday, Theatre and The Cave.

Grab this with both hands. It’s a real treat, and a great introduction to the increasingly peculiar world of Rusty Lake. I don’t think there’s any other developer in the world that’s put this many years into what’s essentially one large project, and it’s paying off. This is a brilliant way to get started. Or if you already did, a joyful return to some games you may not have played in five years, and almost certainly don’t remember properly. Because, who can remember dreams that clearly?

The story is interesting but challenging to understand without playing the previous games. Some puzzles are difficult to figure out and I had to use hints and sometimes even google answers. On PC it's very much worth the cheap price, and on mobile, it's free with optional reward advertisements. 9/10 Expand

The main negative is that various of the puzzles are not based on well defined logic but on random surrealism; they leave the user forced to guess what the artist of the game had subjectively in mind; the hint system rarely helps on those. The artwork is not the strongest in the genre; most drawings and animations are too simplistic and the music can be repetitive; there are many jump scares but they are rarely justified by the story.
