Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is a short and sweet affair, coming in at about 12 hours. Nonetheless, it is vital to the canon of Final Fantasy 7, especially when taking the shocking ending of Final Fantasy 7 Remake into account. It’s a worthwhile journey to take in 2022, even if just for Zack alone — as a modern opportunity to get to know the man who has deeply shaped Cloud, Aerith, and many of the saga’s iconic characters. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion was never going to be as impactful as the fantastic Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but as we inch closer to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it’s well worth the foray — especially now that so many rough edges have been smoothed over. 2. So yes, while there are some bits of Crisis Core worth salvaging for a modern, overdue tune-up, Square Enix and co-developers Tose Co Ltd simply don't go far enough in bringing this up to date for a post-Remake audience.

The combat is generic at best, although I like the Materia part of it, it's kind of boring button mashing affair. Nothing aside cut scenes and combat section. No exploration, no item creation. This barely qualifies has a RPG. The animations are unequal but most of them are pretty good. Good voices over. But I get bored really fast with this game. I give it 60%. Maybe it was the top of a PSP entry list at the time, but now, it's just your generic follow a path for the story with slim RPG elements. It's just dull. Full Review »
