    This is were the big mayhem started ( or revolutionized ) the multiplayer hype right now. Awesome and fantastic multiplayer with strong components, i would like to see Valve create a next generation CS to wipe the face to all those CoD and other multiplayer games.

    Counter-Strike is one of the best first-person shooters I've played. It's very fun to play and you'll probably find yourself spending a lot of time with this game. The gameplay is pretty much the same in every game mode but unlike in many other games, you won't get bored with it.

    This is among the most iconic shooters that have ever been made. Counter-Strike set the standard of how a First-person Shooter should be made and the competitive gaming atmosphere was easily one of the most successful of its time.

    While the game is starting to look and feel dated, and competition has migrated to other games; Counter-Strike is THE classic and should never be forgot.

    Half-Life: Counter-Strike is the best competitive FPS of all time. As of today, no other shooter has come close to the feel of the game. CS brought me some of the greatest gaming moments in my time.

    the graphics are horrible but the game is very good. Sample, repetitive and addictive. the perfect formula to create one of the best FPS in the world.

    It was and probably is still a great game, however, nowadays, the game is full of bugs, and most online servers want to hack your configuration files so you can't play on any other server than theirs.

    Still, it is THE game if you are looking for some old-school LAN action with your friends at home, or just a little bit of fun at work.

    An Half Life mod from Minh Le that ended up as an FPS classic. That conquered hearts of millions of gamers. For its simplicity and replayability. Not to mention some of the most balanced maps that are easy to remember and learn. And people still play competitive matches. Its like an Phoenix that cant die.

    Cons:
    -The graphics haven't aged all that well. It isn't Deus Ex level bad but it is Half Life 1 level bad

    This epic First Person Shooter deversed for the most of the higher ratings. Its main advantage is its popularity and playability. Even if the graphics looked so obsolated today.
    There is nothing better than laying tactics with friends, joint action and sound of rabies on the side of the enemy after a successful round.

    Counter-Strike 1.6 was released a long time ago. The game revolutionized the world of games and eSports and 17 years after his release date you can still see how 1.6 changed things.

    My first FPS game was some sort of FTP Facebook game , but my real first FPS was CS.GO . When i was a kid I loved to play some Nintendo games but almost 3 years ago I started playing CS:GO with my friends. I    Counter-Strike 1.6 was released a long time ago. The game revolutionized the world of games and eSports and 17 years after his release date you can still see how 1.6 changed things.

    My first FPS game was some sort of FTP Facebook game , but my real first FPS was CS.GO . When i was a kid I loved to play some Nintendo games but almost 3 years ago I started playing CS:GO with my friends. I started to play that game everyday and it was my main game , but after some years , my HP Laptop just couldn´t hold it with the map graphics updates and that stuff.

    That´s when I started my passion for "Old" games , I looked for a solution and found out a 10$ pack that included 1.6,Source and both CS:CZ. And of course , my laptop could run those games.

    I didn´t knowed that I was going to love "Old" games so I started to play the most recent one before CS:GO , which was Source. After 40 hours of playing I got bored because there weren´t many Portuguese players and friends that played the game. I wen´t doing some research and found out that 1.6 was the most played of those games game by Portuguese people. I was confused because the game was old , the graphics were awful , etc... But apart from those things , there was a big Portuguese community around the game and there were so many good players and friends to play with.

    I started to love the game and my passion for "Old" games was increasing and I started to play more "Old" games. I could see the influence that 1.6 had in the games community.

    Nowadays , I have a new PC and I´m currently playing CS:GO , but I still love to get back in 1.6 and just chill for some hours.

    Legend! Even today, it plays beautifully. The game, which was conceived as a mod for Half-life, but became better and more popular than the game itself. Personally, I played it with my classmates in computer science classes and liked it so much that I decided to download it at home.
    C.S 1.6 is a classic that is immortal.

    Starting to play and love it since 2000, and still addicting even it is already 8 years! I agree that graphics are outdated and I also hate that we can shoot through almost all walls, that 2 minus points make me rate 8 rather than 10. And the plus points are many,many internet servers available or create your own via dedicated server and if you buy via steam, you get Condition Zero also

    I recently got this game off steam and I like this game. The gameplay is awesome and the vast majority of servers is entertaining. The reason why I'm giving this game a 8 is because of the glitches people use on the different maps. Besides that this game rocks. Go buy it now.

    Counter Strike is great, but not greater than Source, cause Source is more BOOM! Anyway, I had fun times with Counter Strike, even if sometimes is hardcore. You need to train hard, and then play online. And It is freaking bloody :P! (8.8)

    No doubt, Counter Strike is one of the best multiplayer shooters ever, but it haves two problems. First, it haves so much cheaters in the game, that always playing with annoying cheaters is frustrating. And the second one is the enemy AI when you play with bots, it is stupid that you will laugh watching bots playing. Despite from those problems, Counter Strike is great and addictive. 81 out of 100

    It came out a lot of years ago and still remain popular. I remember being addictive with this game a few years ago, and I'm happy that I cancelled playing it since it took a lot of time. But I would definitely say that it is awesome. But not today.

    It is good game with good team atmosphere around it, but lack of story, graphics and anti cheating system could not help it to get to the top. Just shoot, win. And you can just see who killed more and which team has won more. No achievements at all.

    I remember when I was losing hours a day with this game. But after learning to play CS:GO, I can't play this alone. Especially the Steam version because it's not the good ol' 1.6

    This is the first first person shooter that I got addicted to. I imagine that there isn't any reason to play this old timer with the newer titles that are out. Man this one was fun!

    Хорошая игра моего детства. Жаль что в 2021 игра постепенно умерает. Минусы это то что на публичных серверах вам скорее всего сменит в конфиге управление и добавит рекламные баннеры.. Короче хотите сыграть классику играйте через fastcup.

    Played the game sens beta, loved it all the time. But nowdays i only play for funt from time to time at public servers. But no more, all this cheating, whinning and unmature behavior makes it NO-fun at all, so to all you cheaters/whiners/unmatures thanks A LOT for screwing this game up ! =/

    I give him(her) this punctuation. I do not give him(her) 10 because it(he,she) has bad(wrong) graphs in any sides, and it does not please me of the multi-player's video games. But only because of it, the majority of the game is excellent. But what happens(passes) is that there are to some servers that appear and have a great ping, and is too much. But only because of it, the majority of the game is excellent. But what happens(passes) is that there are to some servers that appear and have a great ping, and is too much. Sera because we are from another Country? Because they have told my me that if you belong to another country and another player to other one, one will have a high ping and other one a low ping.     Valve is a great compeny and they can make great games. But, VAC (valve anti cheat) isnt so that good. I think cs should merge with css's grafix and make a cs1.6:source. That may you can have the fun of the game w.o the bad grafix. Any way, Great game!

Ademas, el juego no tiene una opcion para poder poner otra skin sin tener que remplazar las antiguas. Eso si que es un punto muy negativo. Ademas, el juego no recibio una actualizacion que lo mejore lo suficiente en graficos como la version de XBOX.     Overall, I enjoy the game. It is a good competitive shooter with easy, nice-feeling controls. However, after playing the new CS:GO and other titles like Battlefield I found the shooting in Counter-Strike 1.6 to be really difficult and hard to get used to.

    There are many better shooters available on the market now, so I would only recommend the OG Counter-Strike for its nostalgic experience, or to people interested in seeing the beginnings of the best series of competitive shooters to ever exist.    … Expand

    Nice idea and teamplay. But the gameplay is very slow and sticky. The engine is much too old today and the graphics are very plain and simple. Especially this is a hard contrast to temporary new games.

If you like simpler, faster paced games, you'll love CS. It's very solid (few glitches, movement/shooting/gameplay meshes great) and hackers, while much more apparent than in other games, aren't much of a bother; if one joins the server, find another server to play in. Deserves a 6 because despite what anyone else here says, it's very repetitive and does not take much skill other than being fast with your crosshairs. Just not my cup of tea.… Expand

    Cheating in this game is something everyone should try for a few days or so, but its actualley making you even worse than you were in the begging. I was number 2 in denmark for ablut 5months, and i must say that the game have become to easy to cheat in..     A very awesome and challenging game,but when it comes to cheaters it really sucks.80% of the counter strike servers today are non-steam so you will find a bunch of 12 year old cheaters.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Its fun but at the end its all the same its simple shooter game if you like medal of honor you like this. If you like Quake or unreal tournament you don`t like this. Its a base round game. For me it was little fun but cheaters and aim-bots take over the game. Even with protection the problem is cheating wall-hacking and that kind of nasty things. If you can manage to ignore it have fun :)… Expand

    The graphics look low resolution and terrible, but I wasn't really expecting any better out of a game this old. The gameplay was very difficult, but I managed to have some fun. I'm sure if I got better at the game it would be more fun, but I don't have the patience.

    It was fun playing this game with schoolmates back then. But since the release of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero this game is nothing. Nothing for solo players, at least you can play with bots with Condition Zero.

    Поиграл 1 час. Игра легендарная, но в 2022 играется никак. Физика ужасная, графика тоже, как и движок + невозможно тащить, ведь в игре сидят одни олдфаги.

    ya i play cz and i wanted to say that u shouldbe able to hit people with ur gun in stead of pulling out your knife and that takes like 4 seconds and i think the hit box is off like when u shoot at a afk is so off u cant even hit in the head some times u should fix that please.

    If Steam had "locked" the cfg so just rates could be changed it had been a 10* but i see scriptcheaters and illegal cfg hacks everytime i play, and the damn kids just says: the game is made that way to hack the cfg..........where is the moral? i can`t understand how people can sit and play and think that they are good when it is only their cfg hacks that is good.
