    Most people would rate this game 5/10 or lower due to the fact of these... Cheaters, hackers, boring, pointless, bad graphics, old, annoying, and everyone is just plain better then me. CS is a well balanced game and there are servers out there where admins will take care of the hackers!! The game is well known for leagues and lanning! I been to the majority of the following. The way the game is played is very impressive. Everything is so detailed and realistic.     The best first-person shooter ever! I've been playin this game since its 15. CS release and slowly been progressing to now I'm at CS:Source which even boosts the experience more. This game will probably never die out.

    I have been playing this game for the past year EVERYDAY! Its the BEST game in the WORLD! I tried CS Source to see what everyone was talking about....TRASH, I deleted the game and went back to this! I LOVE THIS GAME! One of the BEST computer game's in the WORLD!

    i have been a huge fan of this game ever since my friends dragged me to a lan center to play it about 3 years ago. ever since i have lived it. it is the best game i have ever played and i will continue to keep playing it for as long as its out.

    I have never played a game as good as Counter Strike and I never will (except maybe Counter Strike:Source). The Counter Strike series overall has been the best and will remain the best and most played game in the world.

    Like all games it does have its flaws. The only downside about this game is the people playing it and abusing (being stupid/idiots/annoying to others) a past time that many people enjoy. The game requires great skill, cunning, bravery, wits, and what not to succeed with what you do. It is by far, the Best strategic realism setting type of game to date.     Played this game since Beta, still the only game I go back to after every other game, I can never get over the gameplay and league potentials. GG (P.S. 1.6 is alot more realistic then source, no foot-HS's )

    Score says it all. There's another version out called Counter-Strike: Source, but it's nothing compared to how the original Counter-Strike is. Plus, now adays it's really really cheap, like 10 dollars off of steam. As well, it has like the biggest competitive gaming community in the world, with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tournaments and players etc... good stuff.

    I played this game since one of the BETA's and it still rocks. The most addictive game MP ever. No matter how long you don't play, after 5 minutes playing you're hooked again. If you don't have it yet, buy it. Worth your money!

    I only started since 1.3 but even so, this game is still one of my favorites to play and still continues to entertain me. As for it's update CS: Source, I can't say the same for. CS 1.6 is definatelly a classic.

    The interface is layed out really well and being able to edit them is great. Everyone has their own way of playing. The guns made are very balanced. Each with its own advantage and disadvantages. The HUD are so detailed and perfectly positoned.

    I remember playing this for the first time in high school in 2000 on a 56k modem (Pentium 400, Riva TNT) and thinking how awesome it was. Even more so when I went to a lan center and played with 31 others on lan. After playing pubs for a few months I soon learned the teamwork clan aspect of the game (5v5 in CAL) and I was hooked even more. Playing matches in a 5v5 clan vs clan environment I remember playing this for the first time in high school in 2000 on a 56k modem (Pentium 400, Riva TNT) and thinking how awesome it was. Even more so when I went to a lan center and played with 31 others on lan. After playing pubs for a few months I soon learned the teamwork clan aspect of the game (5v5 in CAL) and I was hooked even more. Playing matches in a 5v5 clan vs clan environment at high levels is the best gaming experience you can have right now in my opinion. Now it's 7 years later and I've graduated from college and am about to get married with a new job, upgraded computer (Quad Core 3.4ghz, 8800GTS) on broadband I still enjoy this game as much as I did back in 2000. Of course, I don't have as much time to play and am not in a clan anymore but it's still fun to go in and join pick up games or enter a pub server for gun game deathmatch in your free time. CS: Source was a dissapointment but this is a timeless classic that stands the test of time. Even now it's the most popular FPS game in the world.… Expand

    I've been playing this game since pre-1.0, and I still enjoy playing it. It's definitely one of the best games out there, and I'm glad that I found it way back when.

    Dude, this is a game that came out over 10 years ago and is still going strong with the online community. Even with all its newer versions and upgrades, the original still hasn't been beat. Simple shooter action but done with perfection and to the tee precision.

    this is the most popular game in this 'hole' world, that real gamers still playing even they forbidden to touch a pc. i think this game will stay on the market at least 2 years. want explanation? here some: 1)the graphic is good and doesn't stacking comps. 2)it upgrade your reflexes. 3)it can pass 6 hr in 2 min. i think its enough for now.

    IS a really great Game the best for me in first person actually the problem is that valve sux a lot of people use cheats :S so i dont know what to think about it . is valve doing hes job ....     I've played this game since 2000, I even still have the retail disk's sitting next to me, i love this game it's one of my favorite games i have ever played in my life time, if your into counter terrorism or just here to have some fun you will love this game as it provides custom mod servers to play on.

    This game is quite awesome. If you enjoy any recent multi-player First Person Shooter, you have a lot to thank to Counter-Strike, specially the 1.5 and 1.6 versions of the game.

    Insane gameplay, jogability, teamplay and fun! Almost an 10!

    i play it , and the game just blow my mind away the game play it self it so solid and the te way that is hard to controling de recon of the gun is just amazing..... and it just a MOD for half-life and not a complet game so it deserve the complet mark

    By far, leagues beyond any other competitive online game made. This set the standard for every game to come in terms of competitive gaming. There's a reason why so many people gave up on CS:Source. 1.6 is the most perfect game ever made. Hopefully CS:GO doesn't **** it up.

    Counter Strike is the best shooting game, i've ever played. The 'real cs', where you plant bombs etc. is not 10/10 gaming, but look at all those great mods! The greatest thing in cs is playing mod servers, and you do not need to download them from your web, you just simply double click that server, and that's it! At first I recommend to play normal cs, if it gets boring try other servers.Counter Strike is the best shooting game, i've ever played.     This game is legendary this should have 0 negative review's those people are noobs on xbox DONT LISTEN this game is legendary the game of the century beutfiful i played 148 hours of it 636 hours of source and 100 minutes of condition zero (found by my steam time) but yeah source is my favorite CANT WAIT for CS:GO The Mod Creator's Did AWESOME SO LEGENDARY BUY IT NOW

    Equally as fun as source, if not better. I played this when I was pretty young and is the second most played game second to source as I got source shortly thereafter. Great game.

    Best game ever. The game of my life, already 10 years playing. Best multiplayer FPS game in history, nothing can compares, maybe Doom II. Since ESEA joins the market, cheaters are no longer a problem

    Not another ordinary game! Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter in which players join either the terrorist team, the counter-terrorist team, or become spectators. Each team attempts to complete their mission objective and/or eliminate the opposing team. Each round starts with the two teams spawning simultaneously.

    Best Multiplayer game of all time nothing comes close to this, the more you play this game the more hooked you become it is fun at all levels of ability. Especially as you do not need the best of computers to run it makes it a game for everyone who likes shoot em ups which involve thinking instead of mindless slaying.

    Best FPS i've played so far.Provides fun for everyone, plus there are the mods(Jailbreak, Surf, Zombie, Deathmatch, Deathrun,etc...) Game totally worth the money!

    10/10. The best online FPS of all time. The game is perhaps one of the greatest games to play competitively. Anyone should give it a try! I bought this in 2004 and I still play it, almost 8 years later.

    The timeless competitive game that is hard not to love, Counter-Strike combines teamwork and skill to make one superb game. Also one of the most entertaining games to watch on a professional level.

    A beacon of online gaming, that despite being a dated title, so many players come back to it because of the well defined game mechanic. There's no great depth of content, just a simple yet enjoyable platform for team deathmatch, with map objectives thrown in. Years ago I spent at least 1,000 enjoyable hours playing it.
