    The best first-person shooter ever! I've been playin this game since its 15. CS release and slowly been progressing to now I'm at CS:Source which even boosts the experience more. This game will probably never die out.

    Yeah... Counter-Strike is dah best... obviously... when it gets repeditive you can always swtich to mod servers, like Wc3, or Repspawn, or Funmaps.

    I have been playing this game for the past year EVERYDAY! Its the BEST game in the WORLD! I tried CS Source to see what everyone was talking about....TRASH, I deleted the game and went back to this! I LOVE THIS GAME! One of the BEST computer game's in the WORLD!

    i have been a huge fan of this game ever since my friends dragged me to a lan center to play it about 3 years ago. ever since i have lived it. it is the best game i have ever played and i will continue to keep playing it for as long as its out.

    I have never played a game as good as Counter Strike and I never will (except maybe Counter Strike:Source). The Counter Strike series overall has been the best and will remain the best and most played game in the world.

    Like all games it does have its flaws. The only downside about this game is the people playing it and abusing (being stupid/idiots/annoying to others) a past time that many people enjoy. The game requires great skill, cunning, bravery, wits, and what not to succeed with what you do. It is by far, the Best strategic realism setting type of game to date.     Played this game since Beta, still the only game I go back to after every other game, I can never get over the gameplay and league potentials. GG (P.S. 1.6 is alot more realistic then source, no foot-HS's )

    Score says it all. There's another version out called Counter-Strike: Source, but it's nothing compared to how the original Counter-Strike is. Plus, now adays it's really really cheap, like 10 dollars off of steam. As well, it has like the biggest competitive gaming community in the world, with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tournaments and players etc... good stuff.

    I played this game since one of the BETA's and it still rocks. The most addictive game MP ever. No matter how long you don't play, after 5 minutes playing you're hooked again. If you don't have it yet, buy it. Worth your money!

    I only started since 1.3 but even so, this game is still one of my favorites to play and still continues to entertain me. As for it's update CS: Source, I can't say the same for. CS 1.6 is definatelly a classic.

    The interface is layed out really well and being able to edit them is great. Everyone has their own way of playing. The guns made are very balanced. Each with its own advantage and disadvantages. The HUD are so detailed and perfectly positoned.

    I remember playing this for the first time in high school in 2000 on a 56k modem (Pentium 400, Riva TNT) and thinking how awesome it was. Even more so when I went to a lan center and played with 31 others on lan. After playing pubs for a few months I soon learned the teamwork clan aspect of the game (5v5 in CAL) and I was hooked even more. Playing matches in a 5v5 clan vs clan environment I remember playing this for the first time in high school in 2000 on a 56k modem (Pentium 400, Riva TNT) and thinking how awesome it was. Even more so when I went to a lan center and played with 31 others on lan. After playing pubs for a few months I soon learned the teamwork clan aspect of the game (5v5 in CAL) and I was hooked even more. Playing matches in a 5v5 clan vs clan environment at high levels is the best gaming experience you can have right now in my opinion. Now it's 7 years later and I've graduated from college and am about to get married with a new job, upgraded computer (Quad Core 3.4ghz, 8800GTS) on broadband I still enjoy this game as much as I did back in 2000. Of course, I don't have as much time to play and am not in a clan anymore but it's still fun to go in and join pick up games or enter a pub server for gun game deathmatch in your free time. CS: Source was a dissapointment but this is a timeless classic that stands the test of time. Even now it's the most popular FPS game in the world.… Expand

    I've been playing this game since pre-1.0, and I still enjoy playing it. It's definitely one of the best games out there, and I'm glad that I found it way back when.

    Dude, this is a game that came out over 10 years ago and is still going strong with the online community. Even with all its newer versions and upgrades, the original still hasn't been beat. Simple shooter action but done with perfection and to the tee precision.

    this is the most popular game in this 'hole' world, that real gamers still playing even they forbidden to touch a pc. i think this game will stay on the market at least 2 years. want explanation? here some: 1)the graphic is good and doesn't stacking comps. 2)it upgrade your reflexes. 3)it can pass 6 hr in 2 min. i think its enough for now.

    I've played this game since 2000, I even still have the retail disk's sitting next to me, i love this game it's one of my favorite games i have ever played in my life time, if your into counter terrorism or just here to have some fun you will love this game as it provides custom mod servers to play on.

    Such an addictive game - It's time consuming, and it never gets old. It's ten years this year, and still it's fun to play, even though you run into to some bots and cheaters. That's why it only gets a nine. It shouldn't be that difficult to integrate a somewhat better cheating protection.

    I think this game is very good, it has a lot of support, it has a lot of modes, such as jail, zombies, call of duty, and so on...

    I've played this game a lot of time in no steam mode, but I've bought it because I've enjoyed a lot.


    I put a ten for this game. CS Source is very good too.
    I recommend this game for the public.

    This is were the big mayhem started ( or revolutionized ) the multiplayer hype right now. Awesome and fantastic multiplayer with strong components, i would like to see Valve create a next generation CS to wipe the face to all those CoD and other multiplayer games.

    Counter-Strike is one of the best first-person shooters I've played. It's very fun to play and you'll probably find yourself spending a lot of time with this game. The gameplay is pretty much the same in every game mode but unlike in many other games, you won't get bored with it.

    This is among the most iconic shooters that have ever been made. Counter-Strike set the standard of how a First-person Shooter should be made and the competitive gaming atmosphere was easily one of the most successful of its time.

    While the game is starting to look and feel dated, and competition has migrated to other games; Counter-Strike is THE classic and should never be forgot.

    Counter Strike is great, but not greater than Source, cause Source is more BOOM! Anyway, I had fun times with Counter Strike, even if sometimes is hardcore. You need to train hard, and then play online. And It is freaking bloody :P! (8.8)

    A true masterpiece. This game is perfect in pretty much every way unlike the newer CS games. There aren't any silly updates to this game adding un needed guns or un needed nerfs or buffs. This is pure perfection. CSGO may have more features and depth, but that brings a lot of issues with it. Those issues that Counter-Strike 1.6 does not have. 10/10

    -The graphics haven't aged all that well. It isn't Deus Ex level bad but it is Half Life 1 level bad

    There is nothing better than laying tactics with friends, joint action and sound of rabies on the side of the enemy after a successful round.

    Pasarán varias décadas hasta que este juegazo deje de ser mantenido y jugado. Es impresionante lo que marcó este juego en la industria, un clásico de clásicos.

    Still worth playing after all these years. An adrenaline filled multiplayer FPS with well designed maps and a lot of external mods will keep you occupied for a while.

    great game, if you don't mind your ass getting kicked by people better than you... considered by many a classic, i still couldn't get into it as much as i did with source.

    This game This game has the best multiplayer i have played, u cannot get sick of it.It is fun when you play it with friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Still one of the best online shooters to this day. The gameplay is very easy to pick up and learn, while also nearly impossibly hard to master, the perfect formula to keep you coming back for hundreds (if not thousands) of hours worth of matches.

    Counter-Strike 1.6 was released a long time ago. The game revolutionized the world of games and eSports and 17 years after his release date you can still see how 1.6 changed things.

    My first FPS game was some sort of FTP Facebook game , but my real first FPS was CS.GO . When i was a kid I loved to play some Nintendo games but almost 3 years ago I started playing CS:GO with my friends. I    Counter-Strike 1.6 was released a long time ago. The game revolutionized the world of games and eSports and 17 years after his release date you can still see how 1.6 changed things.

    My first FPS game was some sort of FTP Facebook game , but my real first FPS was CS.GO . When i was a kid I loved to play some Nintendo games but almost 3 years ago I started playing CS:GO with my friends. I started to play that game everyday and it was my main game , but after some years , my HP Laptop just couldn´t hold it with the map graphics updates and that stuff.

    That´s when I started my passion for "Old" games , I looked for a solution and found out a 10$ pack that included 1.6,Source and both CS:CZ. And of course , my laptop could run those games.

    I didn´t knowed that I was going to love "Old" games so I started to play the most recent one before CS:GO , which was Source. After 40 hours of playing I got bored because there weren´t many Portuguese players and friends that played the game. I wen´t doing some research and found out that 1.6 was the most played of those games game by Portuguese people. I was confused because the game was old , the graphics were awful , etc... But apart from those things , there was a big Portuguese community around the game and there were so many good players and friends to play with.

    I started to love the game and my passion for "Old" games was increasing and I started to play more "Old" games. I could see the influence that 1.6 had in the games community.

    Nowadays , I have a new PC and I´m currently playing CS:GO , but I still love to get back in 1.6 and just chill for some hours.

    This is probably the best game ever to be released and it changed so much.    … Expand
