    A massacre of one of the most addictive games of all time. Such a shame they turned it into a game where success is no longer proportionate to skill. i.e. person who sprays first wins.

    Extremely well-made game; almost revolutionary for 2004. Highly addictive and still relevant almost four years later, this game tops the list of any FPS on the market today. If you're a fan of this genre, you can't miss out on this gaming experience. Would've been a 10 if it had a single-player mode.

    Very nice graphics, but poor models moving. A big step forward from CS 1.6. Still, the firing is unrealistic, too many head shots... I'll give it a 7. The good thing in buying the DVD is that you get the HL2:Deathmatch and DayOfDefeat: Source, making the DVD worth buying.

    I love the game.the graphics,the sound its amazing.Sometimes i fell like am actually in the game.But the movement of the players could be more realistic ,and the hostages. Still its a great game and I'll always play it.

    Nearly a perfect game, in places a bit unrealistic but has been changed a lot from the crap graphics and very unrealistic gameplay of CS 1.6. Sadly though they have changed many things which doesn't really have the touch of the original CS. The graphics are almost perfect but some things could be changed. But if you're a Counter-Strike fan this is a must buy object.

    You can never grow tired of this game. If played with a group of friends/ a useful team/ a clan, there truely is no more rewarding online gaming experience. The graphics are good, (with great implamentation of HDR lighting in some maps) and the gameplay is fantastic. It's just a shame you have to meet some true morons on Public servers but this should not blemish a really great game -You can never grow tired of this game.     One of the greatest FPS game ever made for the PC. Graphics are just absolutely amazing. The Physics are so lovely. The only thing that bugged me just a tad bit was the gameplay. It is unrealistic in some ways. One of the biggest disappointments is the non-tatical gameplay (its basically a run and gun game), they also took out the tactical shield, which was one of the greatest weapons, One of the greatest FPS game ever made for the PC.     I love CS:S alot. The only downside I have ever had with the game is the fact you can not use iron sights. Other then that, levels are incredible, and very realistic. THe enviorment in the game is amazeing and just about everything you shoot, will react in its own way.
    Counter Strike is one of the worlds most popular games, CS:S is on its way to become everyones favorite

    This game is a classic. I can see myself playing it for many years to come. Unlike other online games you don't have to play it 24/7 to be a contender or pay an arm and a leg to play the game.

    Well honestly my pc isn't that slow but sometimes it is really really REALLY slow. Unluckily for me right when i got CS:S my pc was in that very bad slow motion mode. so it took me about 1hour 30minutes to upgrade or upload or whatever to start playing. But I played it in my cousins house zombie mod Warcraft 3 mod etc.... and it really is a fun game once you get used to it.     I remember when I first got my laptop it never lagged in any game, I could actually enjoy it. Then, after awhile, it started slowing up. So when I first got CS:S I thought i was in for some major lag and I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. But, after like 15 games with no lag, where as my CS:CZ would lag after a half a game, I'm pretty impressed. I love this game!

    By far one of the best games I have ever played! I can always enjoy jumping on for a while and blastin away. Source has improved the graphics and physics so much. This game will never get old. I look forward to the newer updates and versions to come!

    In my opinion, Counter-Strike:Source is a really well designed continuation of the famous Counter-Strike 1.6 fps game. The Source engine really amused the CS followers and fans.

    I think some of the negative ratings on this site are rating the community rather than the actual game, but that's a bit to be expected. The game is pretty good, kind of hard to learn at first when you get shot down without ever moving, but once you get the hang of it the game is really interesting. I wish there were a single player story mode though.

    The graphic is much better as the graphic from counter-strike 1.6 or counter-strike: condition zero. the maps are realer than before. i mean erverything is better than before :) they did a good job.

    I love this game. It is an amazing first person shooter that NEVER gets old. I have loved playing it since the first day i got it! it was DEFENETLY worth the money!

    What can I say? The best game of all time. I gave up all my other gaming habits for Counter Strike Source, as I found the gameplay not only the most realistic but the most fun!

    Hackers & Cheaters! too damn many of them. what is valve doing to solve this extensive problem? I hope they put as much effort into dealing with the hackers as they did with creating one of the BEST graphics engines to date.

    A true performance of a game. Surf maps and game mod maps and all sorts .. u just cant beat it when it comes to most addictive games. 10/10 of me outstanding game !! =)

    Worst online community. Tedious. Fails at being an action game. Fails at being realistic. It's a bast^rd caught somewhere in between. Watching 2 people camp on opposite sides of map for 2 minutes. Horrible community. 13 year old racist homophobes. This game is just garbage. Why do people play it?

Halo 3 is reminiscent of a cut down, impoverished Unreal Tournement 2003.     Been playing it for years. There are servers for every one, from surf to gungame. This game will be one of the best purchases that you will make, simply because of its vast size. Every level oozes with atmosphere, and the vast community ensures that there is always something new. If only there were more games like this.

    omfg! this is the BEST GAME EVER! its a simple "shoot-em up" that uses life like physics and realistic environments. Not only are the diffrent modes exiting (zombie mod, Gun game -zm, gg) users are always making and adding new, more fun maps to play on! And dont forget about all the secret spots you can find to dominate all those n00bs out there!

    The graphics are good, but the gameplays isn't quite as good as CS1.6. For example, you get headshots too easily. It seems that this game was made as simple as possible, to make it a popular game, rather than one that required a little skill, like CS1.6.

    The graphics are still stunning, and the realism is almost scarry. which is cool. The only thing worth complaining about is the lack of new good levels. Of course, what do you expect from a grass-roots game? levels come from players, not manufacturers.

    This game is to be loved and adored for all ages, friendly community and very fun mods keep a 4 year old game nice, fresh, and still amazingly fun. And you know a game is fun when even though you arent very good at it, you keep playing. Awaiting the next Counter-Srike!

    A great game! I'm not the greatest fan of online multiplayer games but Counterstrike is certainly making me one. My friend bought me it for christmas and every chance I get I'm on it.

    This is my favourite game, I never look one game superior. Este es mi juego favorito no e visto nunca un juego mejor. Al principio no me gustaba, pero en 2 semanas le coji el tranquillo y aqui sigo casi 3 años jugando al CSS y no me he cansado lo mas minimo. Un saludo a todos los Counteros.

    Cant see why this is a 8.8? i'ts still played more then most other games, nothing real wrong with it, its just great, it has neet physics good action and its nicely balanced, imo best shooter around atm, yes also above cs1.6 simply becaus its to old for me.     After thrashing the hell out of games like UT3, COD 4 and the like - I find myself installing this and enjoying it all over again. It's just so much fun and the fan base is amazing. Get on a decent server with decent active admin and your rocking :)

    a great game have enjoyed it since the day i bought it, definitely need some skill to play it or you just watch other people only down side is the little kids who never shut up other then that an awesome FSP cant wait for the next one.

    Its Just the best online shoot em up games i have ever played. The best bit for me about it is not the graphics and stunning maps but the voice. It means you can out of the blue just start a random chat with someone you have never met.

    Love the game and really hope Valve will do another installment

For those like Lewis W, who seem to have only played one server, you will be surprised. If you just want to improve on your reaction time and have a bit of fun, play a Deathmatch server! If you want to proceed your skills in all kinds of weapons, play a gun game server! If you It does not matter wether you are a pro, or just there for fun, there is a map, and a server, which suites you. The only thing preventing this from being a 10 is the fact that there are enough hackers to give anyone a headache, but they get banned quickly, and that you can get unlucky enough to discourage any person at times (lucky headshots taken in from a shotgun at 50 yards happened to me before) so just take a break when the game isn't fun.    … Expand

    Counter-Strike: Source has to be one of the best online shooters ever. When you first start out you may be aggrivated or flat pissed off but give it some time to learn because once you do you get the joy to say " hahaha I pwned you noob!" Man I love this game!!! O and Lewis W., the only reason the game sux for you is because u just plain suck.

    The reason this game so much better than it's counterparts was that it wasnt dumbed down for all the console tards who need an inch diameter cross hair and a sticky aim. Beautifully done.

    Lewis W, looks like you were too lazy to learn te game, only went on one server, wich had many players on it, if the waiting doesn't fit you, you just join a server with less players, It's easy like that. When you fall in love with this game, you wont stop loving it :) Just give it a chance and learn the skills, And you will like it!

    Best game ever. Combines tactic gameplay with an awesome sense of adrenaline and action. This game will live on for eons.

    Not the very best. but it goes well, anyway. The Source engine and physics apply moderately during gameplay, but i's nice to see some things flying with kbooms and shots.

    The game looks more beautiful than ever, with structures that feel weighty and solid and little visual touches throughout. The flash-bangs look fantastic.

    Valve has done a sterling job of moving a flagship franchise over to a new engine. Whilst the gameplay guts come over correct and intact, (which may disappoint some), Counter-Strike: Source is an even more engrossing and captivating experience, capable of sapping hours of your time, and even the worst "1337 g33zers" abusing voice chat can't spoil the fun you'll have with it.

    Counter-Strike: Source is, once you've gained a knack for it, the most consistently rewarding and surprising team-based shoot-'em-up available on the PC today. It's been dressed up nicely for its relaunch in 2004, but it wasn't broken, and Valve hasn't fixed it.
