    A highly entertaining game, with a good community (provided you find the right servers). It has good gameplay, despite having a bit of a learning curve for new players. Having never played 1.6, I cannot compare the two, but I know Counter-Strike: Source is a great game in it's own right. I would highly recommend this game.     This game is great! You can do anything...climbing, killing, ASSASSINATING. You can even save citizens or jump off a view point in a "leap of faith" This game is my number 1 game of the year.

    When i bought this game 2 years ago, i was impressed; valve really succeeded in porting cs to famous source-engine. + HDR was the final addition, that got me. Overall, good game, but has nice amount of people playing, who can only play with cheat(s) in order to grow their virtual dick(s). I`ll recommend this game for all those, who like FPS-games.

    What can I say? It's a superb game which lives up to all the expectations of a massively-multiplayer. It really is a masterpiece. A fine work of art. Everything in it came together so well.

    Fantastic addition to the already classic series. The use of the Half-Life 2 engine for great graphics and realistic physics make the game play all the more intense. As stands true with most valve games it has a huge fan base, who extend the game-play even further by releasing new maps, skins, sounds and more.

    This game offers excellent time wastage, giving good players excitement and fun. If your new, stick to it because in a few months you might start enjoying it as well. Very dissapointed with the Physics engine, bouncing off barrels and cabinets, not to mention being able to campin in one. I find the game is extremely laggy and registering my shots is unbearably painfull. Flashbangs blind This game offers excellent time wastage, giving good players excitement and fun. Anti cheat is good, Anti hack is better, raciscm and derogitry remarks should be banable and inexcusable. Out of the many fps shooters I have played, this one is fantastic, yet it can still leave me very, very dissapointed. I'm glad I purchased it though.… Expand

    I hate this game! Realistic??? Only headshots and if you didn't hit with the first shot you get shot because your opponent will turn around and kill you with only one shot (as I said only headshots!). I spactated one game and counted the headshots. 78% headshots and rest normal. In FEAR for example there are only 9% headshots (as I counted them) Can somebody explain me that? And if I hate this game! Realistic???     This game its one of the best online shooters I've ever play. The graphics are awesome,the flash effects are outstanding,the grenade effects are good also,and the character models are just fine.But the game gets kind of boring after awhile because its so repetitive,this is not a deathmatch game,its a more team work based game,if i wanna play a death match i could just buy a game like This game its one of the best online shooters I've ever play.     One of the best games I've played. With so many servers online, it's impossible not to find a server to your liking. Though I have found some glitches, but they hardly happen. This game is truly worth buying. Great multiplayer action.

    THE fps standard that all will forever be compared to. Great gameplay, excellent graphics and physics. Highly addictive too. The best part? CONSTANT free updates for bugs, glitches, maps and game models, so the game is getting better as it gets older...something you can rarely say.

    Great game, nice graphics, but fails to live up to the original CS. Another thing, not as many people have mastered the Source engine as the Half-Life engine, thus, there are way more custom maps for 1.6

    The game is very good if you're a good gamer ... But sometimes Steam can be very frustrating ! The graphics are OK but the gameplay is not perfect . You can't even jump on a crate of 1.5m ... So a tip for the buyers :
    buy it only if you have a perfect internet connection and if your fingers are very fast; if you wait a second in front of your enemy, you're dead....

Awp and Deagle have been made better comparatively when they were fine in 1.6 (surprise! everyone's favorite.)     This game rocked, rocks, and will rock! Just looking at this game is a pleasure. It is also very realistic in physics, weapons, and gfx. If you are thinking about buying Half Life, you might as well buy Counter Strike and have more fun with kicking terrorists' butts than just kill ppl without any clear reason.

    VERY good game! The best online game I've ever played. Better than MTA, better than SA-MP, better than anything! I definitely give it a 10/10, play this game and you won't be off of the computer anytime soon.

    much better graphics over 1.6. faster style of gameplay compared to 1.6. 1.6 probably does require more skill and is probably preferred for those who play competitively, but cs source feels more arcade-like, which is better for most people. also, some of the lesser used guns are more useful in this version, like tmp, p90, dualies, and auto shotgun.

In CSS, The graphics, physics, lighting effects are all just gimmicks imo.. 1.6 feels more comfortable when moving, shooting/killing. When you get a headshot on 1.6, there is a higher level of satisfaction WHEREAS on CS1.6 > CS:S This is a good game.. But Sadly, i'd still rather play 1.6 over it.     Its just well done! I just love the quickness and the thrill playing css aswell as cs! imho handling is one of the most important aspects of gaming aswell as the sound. both are bad in to much games wich have potential. not so in css and cs and of cause hl2dm. JUST WELL DONE!

    Counter-Strike: Source is an amazing game. The graphics are awesome. The physics are insane and the game's updates really enhance the game play. I love it and will continue to love it for quite some time.

    Counter Strike Source is an amazing game, I've been playing many first person shooters and none beat counter strike. It takes online shooting gameplay to a whole new level, fun, addictive, realistic, fantastic.

    This is a GREAT game. There are tons of maps and i love playing it. It was definitely worth the money and i would just like to say that there are actually never any 'cheaters' if u play on a proper server.

    Hey head shots may seem random but what the guy on the other team can do i can too, just takes practice and adjustment to a new style of playing. I still prefer 1.6 but only noobs complain about source, either waste your $20 or learn to play it like all the others. Fun game =)

    This game is as addictive as nicotine. Once you log on to a network, and lan against a few mates, everyone is hooked. There is no alternative, CS Source is the best FPS ever created.

    CS:S all together is a great, graphically stunning game. There are so many community inspired game modes it will take you a while just to play them all. The only downfall to this game is that it usually chugs if you don't have a great computer.

    Great game, leaves the 1.6 way behind. The physics engine is really one of the bes things about this game, as the bodies and the weapons drop like ragdolls should.The thing i don't like is Valve not releasing any new official maps and the ability to kind of shoot through corners of walls or boxes, copied from 1.6.

    Although superb graphics and the gameplay from counter-strike is retained, the game movements in counters-strike source is not as smooth as counter-strike, where animations and movements are rather stiff, and the realism in graphics could be a drag for some slower PCs and for online play.

    One of the best multiplayer game returns in a new way better version... The graphichs and the animation are the best for this type of game and the gameplay it's a bit easier than in cs 1.6...but it's a wrong thing because for some people the old Counter Strike was TOO much difficult...

If your new to the FPS genre then this will surfice but there is alot of better options out there that are less frustraitng. but If you can't tolerate campers, hackers, excesively loud music, 13 year old kids, pornographic sprays, flashbang spam, the AWP, The Desert Eagle, terrible hitboxes and the need to Good GFX and fun if not very simple gameplay and can be very enjoyable.     CSS is a great platform for funmods and maps. BTW, mods can be easily implemented and CSS has a good downloading system for missing content. The graphics didn't take the best out of the Source Engine but the abstract GFX give every PC a chance to play CSS. Valve has invented CS again but the minimal changes left a view wishes and new game features open. But without doubt you can say CSS is a great platform for funmods and maps. BTW, mods can be easily implemented and CSS has a good downloading system for missing content. "Valve ANTI Cheat".... hmmm... my question is, why do they call it "Anti Cheat" if every lil boy of 11 years can hack CSS and cheat without getting banned?     This game is awesome and once you play it, you won't ever want to go back to the original. It's basically the same game though except with updated graphics and a few extra guns. They could have actually added more stuff to the game though such as more characters rather than just the same 4 considering the amount of people that can be in the same game.     It isn't much of a change since 1.6, but the gameplay is kind the same so it keeps its magic. Basically It's the same game, it was good on those times and it still is fun to play.

    Sure, you'll find out a hacker or two, or even some spammers or annoying people, but let's face it, we have to mess with this on every game.

    Allthough it's nothing bad, the pace is a bit too slow. CS 1.6 was fun, fast and encouraged normal gameplay. CSS however, punishes rushing and fast play. With everyone camping till the last minute, and than suddenly killing each other with 5 shots (if you shoot more your aim is gone), the fun was gone for me.

    A very solid shooter that has provided me endless hours of fun. Its not a game I've raved about then grown out-of, its a quality game that has always remained fun to play. Its easy to get the hang of but takes a lot of skill and practise to master, but doing so is definatly fun.

    How can you not play this! Team strats. Voicecom. fast turn around in rounds when you dead. It's fast paced, first person, up-close and personal combat! Team's live and die playing this. Strats are key and random is crazy fun! A staple for get in, play and get out or long term team competition.

    They Should rename it Camper-Strike, it takes too long to learn to play this game well and the fact that you cant respawn makes it the most frustrating game in the world. Imagine walking out of the spawn zone to be shot in the head without ahving chance to react, then you wait 5 minutes to come back to life so they can do it again!

    Very realistic physics engine, tons of servers to choose from. Graphics are quite good as well, they won't stress your machine.
    Only things to keep in mind before buying this is the fact that the normal gameplay isn't quite newbie friendly, you have to commit a lot of time and skill in order to dominate your opponents.     A poor, poor update to an amaizing game. Known as "CS for n00bs", any real CS player will be disappointed at the core physics changes, such as weapons that are too accurate or inaccurate, over or under powered, and maps that are simply lack the old counter strike feel. Put your big boy pants on and go old school with the pros!

    I didn't really like online gaming but when my friends got me onto this I was hooked! Top Marks for this. You can play with anyone worldwide! Minted!

    The game looks more beautiful than ever, with structures that feel weighty and solid and little visual touches throughout. The flash-bangs look fantastic.

    Valve has done a sterling job of moving a flagship franchise over to a new engine. Whilst the gameplay guts come over correct and intact, (which may disappoint some), Counter-Strike: Source is an even more engrossing and captivating experience, capable of sapping hours of your time, and even the worst "1337 g33zers" abusing voice chat can't spoil the fun you'll have with it.

    Counter-Strike: Source is, once you've gained a knack for it, the most consistently rewarding and surprising team-based shoot-'em-up available on the PC today. It's been dressed up nicely for its relaunch in 2004, but it wasn't broken, and Valve hasn't fixed it.
