Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is a great makeover of 2 cult games by fans, for fans. You can feel the love of the developers, old and new, as they offer all the vintage experience to modern gamers, with serious comfort gains and many options to adapt it to different player profiles. All this without compromising the vintage gameplay or its difficulty, and with better music than ever before. On the other hand, however, it might discourage many players with its outdated graphics, its peculiar old TV movie humor, its pixelated cinematics and its punishing gameplay.

The Remaster is a joy for C&C Veterans, but delivers less than it could in almost every respect.

While adding remastered graphics and a modern UI, Remastered Collection avoided dealing with 20-year old shortcomings of the original game, like poor pathfinding for infantry and harvesters, for instance. On the other hand, these flaws will definitely make your missions much more exciting on higher difficulty settings.

The Command and Conquer Remastered Collection looks great, it sounds great, and there's so much polished content to enjoy, including never-before-seen bonuses. But the dated core mechanics turn an otherwise intriguing strategy game into a sometimes unfair slog against a computer that will inherently have an easier time working around its own limitations. It's worth a play for fans of the franchise or RTS games in general, but newcomers might find there are a few too many cobwebs to overcome compared to contemporary offerings.

Petroglyph Games and Lemon Sky Studios did a more than acceptable work in both the graphic and sound aspects of this remastered, polishing even the smallest detail and giving users the possibility to add content freely, where we will find an enormous amount of fresh stuff to try. We will, once again, put on our commander's uniform to solve international conflicts in the best warlike manner.

Despite its issues, Command & Conquer Remastered Collection provides an excellent trip down memory lane.

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is a splendid coat of paint on two old masterpieces. You will have fun remembering the old times and watching the absurd videos, but the gameplay is stale and its age clearly shows itself.

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection goes back to memory, with two of the most iconic games from the '90, but this operation only shows the evolution made by the RTS.

C&C was difficult not because of good AI or interesting tactical puzzles, but due to poor usability. With modernized interface, it’s a walk in the park, and will be enjoyable only as long as nostalgia lasts. [Issue#247, p.44]

Despite a few quality-of-life tweaks, the package is otherwise faithful to the originals—almost to a fault—while its compatibility with modern PCs is mostly good enough.

This one’s for the fans, and the fans deserve it. Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself wishing for more from Command & Conquer Remastered. The RTS genre’s come a long way since 1995—and now that it’s finally showing signs of life again, maybe there’s more road to travel.

A compilation that’s a joy to experiment with and explore, complete with the ever-present option of switching between the original visuals and the new, higher-resolution version of the game. This is a respectful but surprisingly full-featured dive back into the world of Command and Conquer, and I can only hope EA greenlights this sort of treatment for more of its games.
  4. It’s as close to a perfect restoration as you’ll get, and the treatment these genre-defining games deserve.

Excelent remasters. I played only one hour and a half until now, but everything is great so far. I really really love the remastered music,Excelent remasters. I played only one hour and a half until now, but everything is great so far. I really really love the remastered music, the quality is amazing, the graphics look nice, the sounds are good, the up-scaled videos look ok. The performance is really great, too, I had no problems like bugs or anything like that.

I recommend this to anyone into RTS genre, no matter if you played the originals or not.

Another interesting thing is that even if you buy this from Steam, it doesn't require Origin. So, when you click on play it doesn't launch any additional launcher, only Steam.
