Nov 7, 2022There is a great multiplayer experience in Modern Warfare II, due to its careful movement and strong gunplay, but with an uneven campaign and terrible co-op, the franchise has been better equipped in previous battles.

Nov 14, 2022Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is a fine sequel that checks all of the boxes when it comes to a serviceable CoD campaign, good co-op options, and a super shiny competitive multiplayer that plays well enough for most. However, Infinity Ward has played it safe with this CoD installment, leaning into the strengths of Modern Warfare (2019) while making minor improvements, but ultimately failing to push the envelope in any meaningful way.

Nov 9, 2022We get the same, great framework, lots of bugs, and a promise for a better tomorrow. But that's probably not enough to give Modern Warfare 2 a higher score. During the 80 hours that I have already spent with the game, I did have a great time, and the developers still promise mountains of gold. I don't believe in these promises. Although I am happy and I can't stop playing, I also have the impression that I am participating in an it-was-supposed-to-be-so-great type of event. And I realize that in a month, six months, even a year, this game will probably look completely different (it will, Activision, right?!) – but today? It is what it is. Just a good game. Still addictive, but I was hoping for more.

Nov 7, 2022While the single-player offering is a little muddled and often confused regarding what exactly it wants to portray; the multiplayer is otherwise a straightforward and enjoyable experience, even if it's currently riddled with minor connectivity issues.
-
Nov 7, 2022Call of Duty is the world's premier first-person shooter franchise and Modern Warfare 2 is a solid reminder of why that is. As the world's premier FPS franchise though, it needs to do better.

Nov 4, 2022Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has so much potential: A very varied and exciting campaign, great gunplay and overall with story, multiplayer and soon Warzone 2.0 so much to offer. But unfortunately the multiplayer, the main part of the shooter, has a lot of bugs, technical issues and missing content. It’s still fun to play, but the release of the game came some weeks too early.
-
Nov 2, 2022Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 leaves much to be desired in its lacklustre campaign, but the multiplayer is where the game truly shines. Awesome weapons, fast-paced gameplay and the overall sense of polish might make this the best Call of Duty online experience at the moment.
-
Nov 1, 2022The Call of Duty franchise needed a buffer between its past and its future, but Infinity Ward may have bitten off more than they could chew. Ultimately, Modern Warfare 2 has extremely promising multiplayer and co-op gameplay that feels good to play on the surface but woefully underbaked due to a lack of features and overall content in general. The campaign shines the brightest for those with a bit of nostalgia for the characters.
-
Nov 1, 2022Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II suffers from feeling light on content.

Oct 26, 2022No matter the task at hand, outside of aiming down sights to take out enemies, the campaign switches gears and tone and perspective and objective so often that you’d be hard-pressed to become bored with what will happen next on account of the where and how. [Campaign Review = 78]

Oct 25, 2022If like me, you're a Call of Duty fan, this is very much more of the same — but that also means you can't really go wrong. Some new features feel unnecessary, whilst others feel like a tutorial for Warzone 2.0. Modern Warfare 2 is certainly let down by repetitive gameplay and missions that overstay their welcome. But, that said, Infinity Ward has given fans what amounts to a gripping story and stunning cinematic experience that's peppered with a few flawed concepts and disappointing elements. [Campaign Review Score = 70]

Oct 28, 2022Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offers a very nice campaign that will reconcile players who were unfortunately disappointed by Call of Duty: Vanguard. On the program, a lot of action, endearing characters, and of course a bit of betrayal in all this. If some may find that its lifespan is not long enough, it must be admitted that in this case, it is nevertheless sufficient. And as we have said, the end of the campaign announces something crazy for those who would not have enough yet! Besides, there is something for everyone: from hardcore missions to those that require more discretion, you will be served no matter what your taste is. This opus marks more than ever the return of Call of Duty. [Campaign Score = 85]

Oct 26, 2022The shooting is sharp and impactful, and the slow and snipey set pieces feel as slick as they did all the way back in All Ghillied Up, but it feels like the ratio behind this tried-and-true formula is a little off this time. It’s more stop-start than any COD in recent memory, and the highlights are diluted by a few too many drab stealth missions. It’s not one of the best Call of Duty campaigns, but it’s far from a bad one. [Campaign review]

Oct 26, 2022It might sound like I'm pretty down on MW2's multiplayer after all that, but trust me, I think it's a strong time! Aside from a couple of overcomplications, the game still excels at delivering an arcadey shootybang that's paced well, with a wealth of modes and weapons to satisfy all types of player.
