Mudou muita coisa em relação aos anteriores.
Este ficou mais proximo de um COD do que de Bioshock.
Os graficos são ate que bons.

Hard to describe this game - from one side very good as an FPS, but on second as a BioShock franchise is ok ? I finished game after few breaks of playing it.

Cut gameplay and you will have an excellent movie or series. Gameplay is not good and not entertaining and it badly harms the plot and perception, so it would be better to have an interactive adventure movie-game.

The guns can be fun, but upgrading more than one or two is pointless and unsatisfying, not to mention certain weapon types being way better than others. The levels are mostly similar to each other, and the individual ways they use rails and rifts rarely add anything all that interesting. Infinite feels like a game that should've stayed a year or two ln the oven, but more than anything Bioshock Infinite is a totally unique and wonderful game, worthy of being being experienced by every gamer. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Decent game with good mechanics and a really deep story, too bad it sucks at telling it. In a game where there are a lot of cutscenes and dialogue you expect to understand some of the story without reading or listening to every recording. At the end of the game you'll probably look up the wiki page to understand the story like I did.

However after several hours an experienced gamer will see the graphics and textures for what they are, simple.
So after you have finished marvelling at the shiny graphics and started playing the game there is no escaping the fact that the game is extremely boring. The very imaginative setting is utterly wasted on a truly uninspiring
storyline that would have goldilocks screaming about copy write violations.
But the game is not a RGP it's a shooter I hear you say. Well it is a shooter but a very dull one at that. Let me tell you why. Head shots don't really count!!! Each bad guy has a read bar that needs to be depleted. There are about 2 usable weapons to choose from and every fight is essentially the same. You will always be fighting in a square surrounded by building or in a building which is roughly the same dimensions as the streets. You have 3 different types enemies to kill throughout the whole game.
    The AI is awful.
This game has some good points but if you are looking for something more this game is not for you.

Sadly not as enjoyable as the first two games, Infinite lacked the subtle story-telling of Bioshock 1+2 and went for a (literal at points) hand-holding approach. Underwhelming and easily forgettable, with forced characters, forced drama, 'threatening' situations are told to you, rather than an actual repercussions possible.

BioShock Infinite misses the magic of the first two games.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bioshock infinite was a great disappointment to me. I remember watching the initial reveal for the game and being absolutely blown away by the original demo, but when I came to play the final product, I just couldn't help but think that the game was poorly thought out.

Firstly, the gameplay reflected the original Bioshock in the worst way possible. The original's setting worked really well with the gameplay because it was very claustrophobic, dark and hostile. Colombia is bright, colourful, open and has a pinteresque menace behind its racial connotations and extremist worship of the American constitution. Yet there was only ever one instance where I needed a sniper rifle, everything else was just shooting bullet sponges with guns that I had barely any ammo for because for some stupid reason irrational decided it would take a realistic stance on carrying only two weapons, which is absurd as you are sometimes caught in situations where you have no ammo for the specific weapons that you need for the scenario, I'm certain there was a gun that I only used the grand total of once throughout the entire story. I'd have rather they kept the ability to carry as many guns as you liked and increased the gun play so that it encouraged you to apply a more diverse array of strategies over 'Shoot that man'

The Vigors were also complete nonsense, I got that part of the story was that the Lutece twins were able to travel to alternate dimensions so they could take back technology to use in Colombia, thus hinting they went to Rapture and copied the idea of the plasmids. But in colombia vigors were completely irrelevant to the setting, nobody used them save for a couple of types of enemy. In Rapture, the plasmids were the whole reason for why the city descended into chaos, as people were using them more and more to wage a bloody civil war to the point that overdosage turned them insane. Aside from the fact they were horribly shoehorned in because 'That's what makes Bioshock Bioshock'; they were pretty bad, a lot of guys I know who loved Infinite admitted that they only used one throughout the entire game. A lot of them were simply 'stun enemies'. They felt weak and lacked the same versatility that the ones in Rapture had (ie using electricity on enemies in water would usually kill them).

I appreciate that I have been pretty harsh on this game, and I also know that the game really was trying to stand itself up on it's story. But the truth is, I found the story as mediocre as the gameplay. I understand the conclusion and the twist, but I felt it was poorly dictated. The ideas in the story have been done before, notably the concepts of the butterfly effect (One action in time, no matter how insignificant it may seem, kickstarts a further chain of events that vary in significance.) And the big point here centered around the baptism. The problem is that the story seems to identify that killing Booker in the baptism will save every Anna from being kidnapped from Comstock. What if Booker and Elizabeth killed the pastor at the baptism? What if Comstock was actually able to have a child? What if Booker decided that he'd make Colombia anyway even though he had decided to not get baptised? And then Levine creates these pretty little images of millions of lighthouses and multiple Elizabeth's drowning in some weak attempt to make you think that it had some sort of complexity to it, and yet it gains heaps of praise, but I wonder if this is simply because all these so called 'professional reviewers' were too busy looking at the pretty images Irrational put there.

The characters were also, I'm afraid disappointing. I thought it was interesting that they gave Booker a voice and allowed him to interact with Elizabeth, but the truth of it is that he is in a FPS game, and is thus brutally blowing people's heads off with shotguns and murdering policemen in almost inhumane ways. I have nothing against Troy Baker, but his character is completely unlikeable even more so because of his deadpan attitude to the whole absurdity of this bloodshed. Elizabeth is also the definition of what we call a 'Disney Princess' she somehow is a very bubbly and likable character despite having been locked up for twenty years in a large statue with a gigantic mechanical bird as her only companion. I know we're supposed to like Elizabeth and making her cold and introverted, but I'd have rather she fitted her character as opposed to having been the product of Ken Levin watching Disney's Tangled.

In conclusion, this game is mediocre and I was greatly disappointed by it. I liked the sound direction and I love the setting of Colombia, even more so than Rapture, but it was lackluster and felt like the unrefined product of a game that could have been truly amazing. I appreciate it if you read this review, and I know it isn't one that you might like if you loved Bioshock Infinite, but appreciate that I wanted the game to be great too, and I was let down severely.

Bioshock Infinite is not a fun game.

Imagine that you are in a room, a relatively small one, with the standard ceiling, floor, and four walls. The floor is hardwood and the ceiling is painted sky blue with clouds. The walls, however, are painted with people and shops, and trees all in lush detail. And just like the wall of a room, you can't interact with any of it, just look at it.

Sure, you can listen in on the same repetitive conversation from a group of occasional bystanders, you can even "interact" with the occasional garbage can, which may or may not give you something useful, although it is generally food or salt, of which you already have plenty of. It is simply a pretty picture that gets old very very quickly.

Once combat begins, it too becomes old very quickly. You wind up fighting the same enemies with identical AI over and over again. The uniforms may change and they may gain a few hit points, but it is all the same. The clothing and vigor choices that are meant to add depth and variety are entirely impractical and clunky. Cycling between vigors is cumbersome especially when you are being shot at by enemies that have unlimited ammo, whereas you are stuck with only a couple of weapon choices and extremely limited ammo.

This, of course, is the games way of compelling you to use everything in the game to succeed. You are supposed to use the sky-hook, and vigors, and Elizabeth's "tears" in order to accomplish your objective. Not only is the action too fast and the enemy too plentiful for all of these things to be practical to do at the same time, it also takes any type of choice in strategy away from the player. You can't sneak, you can't snipe, not in any realistic sense, before you get swarmed by enemies who either kamikaze your position, or cower behind cover. Some of the rare tougher enemies are fun, such as the George Washington's with the mini guns, but those can get old after a while as well.

Overall, the clunky battle mechanics, lack of real weapon variety and limited ammo, near useless vigors and time tears, novel but otherwise useless sky-hook, repetitive fight sequences, and virtually no ability to interact with the environment you are in, makes this game feel like you are just inside a pretty picture. Everything else feels like an afterthought.

Massively over-hyped. Mediocre at best. 5/10

Eso sí, universos paralelos for the victory.

5 de 10 porque llegué al final, aunque a mitad juego me di cuenta de uno de sus giros.
Menos mal que Ken Levine se ha retirado para fundar su propio estudio, tal vez vuelva a crear buenas historias.

Bioshock Infinite first and foremost treats the player as if they have no intelligence whatsoever - player agency is frequently taken away in the single player when the first person nature of the game would have made for interesting interactive moments outside of the moment-to-moment combat, which itself is fairly mediocre, but I'll get to that shortly.

Bioshock Infinite presents a world in a similarly secluded location of the planet a la Bioshock, but without the logic of Rapture's ideal existence below the sea. It gives us a look into the extremes of nationalism but in the most politically correct way possible, muffling its own impact. As Booker DeWitt we're tasked with finding and escorting Elizabeth, a young woman of some importance with the ability to cross between parallel worlds. Despite being a shut in and the subject of experimentation she's socially apt and mentally equipped to deal with anything, which I found a bit strange. Bioshock Infinite presents itself in a way that begs you dearly to take it seriously for its mature themes, but it doesn't have any of the grit to back it up, save for the graphic violence which just becomes numbing after a short time. The ending in particular highlights many holes in the game's own plot and seems inconsequential given the game's highlighting of infinite worlds with infinite possibilities - the infamous "constants and variables" twist is truly a cop-out for the ages.

From a gameplay perspective, Bioshock Infinite makes a few additions from its predecessors in Rapture, in particular the skyhook mechanic, which can actually be abused to provide the player with essentially infinite shielding if a certain piece of gear is equipped. While skyhook combat is otherwise fun, the standard moment-to-moment gunfighting is second-rate at best. The game only allows Booker to carry two weapons at a time, which seems unfitting considering Bioshock allowed a great deal of preparation on the player's part as they could select their ammunition type, prime traps, or hack sentry devices in the environment in anticipation of engagements. Hacking is also simplified into a vigor, the stand-in for plasmids. It's temporary, and sentries can't be damaged while under the influence of the vigor. The ability to modify weapons is back, but is also hurt by the weapon carry limit as ammo for your preferred weapons can become scarce forcing you to use un-upgraded weapons scavenged from the battlefield which might perform quite poorly in comparison, even if the game has just introduced them to you. One particular boss fight in the game demonstrates the severely flawed design of the shooter mechanics in Infinite, as its large health pool and infinitely respawning minions can cause player "death", which keeps the game moving but sets you back in ammunition and cash, while the boss sees its health entirely replenished, opening the door to a situation in which players can be completely cornered without a bullet to plink off of the boss' armor.

While Bioshock did have some overlapping abilities, Infinite has the same issue with less abilities at the player's disposal. You'll find a variety of stun-type vigors, the aforementioned possession, a shield, and a charge. Typically the gameplay boils down to spotting sentries and possessing them, using Elizabeth, who is completely invulnerable and in absolutely no danger of capture/death at any moment, to provide you with context sensitive abilities while you commit to a stun>shoot pattern. Any creativity has been sapped from engagements, as level designs are linearized, interactivity with the world is reduced, and weapon variety is cut to a short list of generic designs with their complementary counterparts from a different faction.

What's unfortunate about the praise Infinite gets is the precedent that is established for other developers out there. It signals that it's okay to release what is essentially just another homogenized first person shooter so long as it presents itself as a piece of groundbreaking character driven storytelling. Bioshock Infinite is an incredibly pretentious game in that it presents intriguing concepts and has dark themes, but guts itself through a poor representation of what its world might actually be like had the developers committed to fleshing it out fully instead of reversing the nature of Bioshock's setting for its own sake, while guiding you by hand through its winding plot, providing the illusion of depth through obscurity. While it's a fairly good looking game, the individual elements comprising the experience as a whole just don't fit together very well, leaving Infinite in the limbo of utter mediocrity, which by today's standards is apparently an okay thing.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bioshock Infinite is the final game developed by the now rebranded (Ghost Story Games) Irrational Games. When the game came out it received a ridiculous amount of praise from all critics and is considered by many to be one of the greatest games of all time.

    Personally, I never understood this.

I found the game to be at best, an average experience that only reached the levels it did due to its connection to the Bioshock Franchise and Ken Levine. But I would like to go deeper into why I find this game to be so mediocre.

    Plot:
The Plot to Bioshock Infinite is often considered to be its best element, with it being called an "engaging and deep story" by countless people, and while the plot and story is serviceable to the game, it is in all honesty a rather confusing mess that seems to have been put together based on what the developers thought sounded "cool" or "deep" and that they hoped people wouldn't look to deeply into. As once you get past the shiny exterior, the hole reason for the game, the characters actions, and especially the ending make no sense at all.

For a specific example, at a certain point you have to go through a "tear" (basically, into another universe) in order to do something for an ally, but its stated that if you go through the tear, you will not be able to come back to the original universe. When this happened, I immediately stopped and asked "Then why should I continue with my original goal? This universe is different, I doubt that the deal I made applies here". This only gets worse when you do it again, and the characters still have the same goal on their mind, when in reality it shouldn't matter any more.

    Gameplay:
The Gameplay is just a straight downgrade from the previous entires in the series. The lack of a weapons wheel, meaning you can only use 2 guns instead of the full arsenal is especially annoying as the game takes a far more action-y gameplay perspective compared to the other two games, and heavy only two guns, which you have to constantly switch out due to lack of ammo, does not make the combat any more fun. It just makes it frustrating. The fact that the game also tries to have upgrades is also an incredibly odd choice as what's the point of upgrading certain guns when half the time you won't be able to use them? The Vigors in the game also feel rather tacked in, as they don't really offer any combat advantage other than stunning enemies.

That being said, the gunplay is competent and at times fun to do, so its not completely broken and as it is the majority of the game, that means the game is at the very least playable without to much issue. The only other major issue is that for the majority of the game, it is painfully easy, even on the high difficulty levels. You won't have a lot of trouble moving through the game at all until the final section, when the difficulty suddenly jumps up immensely.

    Characters:
The characters in the game are fun for the most part. Booker is a rather stereotypical anti-hero with a troubled past and plays the part of a protagonist pretty well. Comstock is an effective villain for the most part, but the lack of interaction we have with him until the end is rather unfortunate.

The character that everyone talks about however is Elizabeth, and how she is such a welcome addition to the game. She is a fine character, though the fact that she acts like a "Disney Princess" doesn't make much sense to me considering she's been isolated her entire life. She's upbeat and offers nice commentary throughout the game and doesn't get annoying so its not a pain to have her around. But she doesn't have any real presence outside of certain story segments. She isn't in any danger during combat so whats the point of having her around? She can give you stuff that I assume she pulls from ether. And she can open tears that can give you some sort of advantage during combat, which would be more useful if combat wasn't already incredibly easy. Overall the major and minor characters of the story are fine. Nothing great, but nothing terrible either.

    Setting:
The setting is a great idea and executed rather well. Columbia is beautiful and it does look like a lot care was brought into creating the environments. It also does go into some topics like Slavery, Racism, and religious extremism but not nearly enough. It plays it to safe. Outside of a single scene in the beginning you don't see any major sign of minorities being abused. No one says things like **** kike, chink" etc. Compared to some areas of the US from the same time, Columbia is rather tame. You can't be politically correct and also try to demonstrate how bad these themes are.

    Overall:
Just an average game that is overrated by a large section of people. The story is bland, confusing, and full of plot holes, combat is competent but rather easy and boring, the characters are serviceable, and the setting is good but doesn't go far enough.

As a fan of the original Bioshock, I give this high of a score only for the art direction which, as an artist myself, I think is superb and fully worthy of at least 6 of the 7 I am giving this game. In other areas I was dissapointed at the game. It was severely lacking a good horror element that made the first game so engaging, and a lot of the good gameplay/rpg elements are just missing, making it feel much more like an on rails shooter like a Call of Duty campaign mode than a game with depth and choice. Essentially, it felt less realistic and more scripted because of this. Talking of script, the story of this game was all over the place. It was incredibly convoluted and tacky, and dealt in the topic of multiple realities but in an incredibly cliche's and pseudointellectual way that had me rolling my eyes by the end. Unlike the original bioshock, with its strange self aware commentary on the work of ayn rand, this game takes place in the skies in a turn of the century version of religious zealotry and old american ideals of purity and independance, which is a really cool idea on the face of it. It doesnt just stick to this concept though, that is the problem. The game starts out great, and you are lead to believe that there are many avenues that will be explored in this. It feels like bioshock, with a creepy sense of unease and insanity crawling at the back of your mind as you ascend to a racists idea of heaven. But the game just lets you down, its cartoonish and unserious, i get that they were kind of going for that with elizabeth appearing like a good old american disney princess, but it just doesnt land. And the story is stupid, and story is the second most important thing in Bioshock after the art design, so its a 7 from me (the other 3 is the good story its missing) Expand

Very messy, holy hell. The writing can be all over the place, but it´s not bad, and the ending is really good. The main characters have a great relatioship, which is quite an achievement considering the protagonist is goofily tragic. It´s very fun despite it´s faults.
