Jul 31, 2013Don't misunderstand me, the story, the graphics, all of them are fantastic. However, as wonderful as all of that is, it is completely and utterly irrelevant when the gameplay is tedious. It's not ludicrously bad, but considering shooting is more than 50% of the game, it's unacceptably tedious. I would say, go look up a video of the story in full on YouTube, don't buy it.

Jan 22, 2014Amazing graphics, characters, setting, design, music and sound effects.
Absolutely retarded and terrible gameplay!! It's really a disgrace to the fps genre in terms of challenge and mechanics. -

Apr 13, 2013Meh. Overrated on mere graphics alone. Yes, yes, yes. We know the "critics" believe it's a "masterpiece", but the vigor's are pointless, the weapon combat is repetitive, and the incessant searching to purchase upgrades is nonsense.

Apr 8, 2013It's a good game. Visuals are there, game's universe is great. Companion behavior technically almost as good as in Uncharted 3. But gameplay itself is just pathetic. It feels like all game-designers has left the projects at the middle of development, and guys from Irrational, or 2K spend all the budget for the previews.

May 5, 2013Good game but there is no replay value after finishing it The game world and the story are a bit ridiculous for my taste and the graphics are very "cartoonish". I gave it a 7 for being a good game but this is not a classic as it is majorly overhyped by some people

Apr 10, 2013Best game ever in an artistic sense. Story/ levels/ events/ textures/ animation/ presentation, everything is perfect. On the other hand, it have the worst gameplay that a first person shooter could have. Shooting totally feels wrong.

Mar 31, 2013I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Few games come along that blow your mind like Bioshock. I haven't experienced such a thrilling ride since, well, Bioshock 1. If you are here looking at the rating, deciding whether to buy it or not, you are wasting precious time. Get down to the store, buy it ONLY on PC. An experience like this comes rarely. Nuff said.

Apr 13, 2013Story was great...game looks good...tons of thought went into the universe...but gameplay was repetitive. Seriously those rails are the worst idea ever...they added nothing but frustration to the experience. I get why people dig it...not for me...
I was counting down the minutes to watching the credits roll -

Jun 4, 2019Unfortunately Columbia cannot beat Rapture as a setting. Story is too much of a clusterf**k to be enjoyable. Great graphics and combat system.
-
May 5, 2020If you didn't enjoy the story of the game, you probably wouldn't enjoy the game as a whole. The combat in this game is horrible compared to other fps games. The combat felt like a hindrance to the story rather than something that compliments it. The areas look nice but the character models are a hit or miss.

Nov 7, 2021Честно мне игра не зашла так как под конец игры я просто умирал от скуки и одно образности геймплея. В целом я не понимаю почему у этой игры такая высокая оценка(

Mar 30, 2013Wait till 75% off on steam or even better buy something else. Another average game aimed at the teenagers, its very disappointing that mainstream gaming has become as boring as the movies being made. Every time i play one of these so called 10/10 games i find my self looking backwards in time for the real masterpieces of video games.

May 23, 2013Hyper Magazine says It isn’t perfect", so then why give it a perfect 100?
The game is huge, the effort that went into it is enormous. It is fun, but I am half way through and can't really be bothered going any further. The narrative is just not that interesting and I find myself switching off and just pressing N all the time to try to get to the end as fast as possible. -

Apr 10, 2013An immense world with gothic buildings and very nice artwork stuff with hype and a boring story. After a few hours you'll realize that that's all there is it to is a laggy fps with absolutely no interest. I never finished the game so I dont know how the ending is. The rest was nice but boring.

Mar 29, 2013Absolutely awful story and ending. It pretty much ruins the entire game. The gameplay is average and the graphics are not as good as Bioshocks (art wise). Wait for sale instead of blowing $60.

Jan 12, 2014It is a good game but not a great one. I wasn't going to grade it, but it got too overrated for me. The worst part was the game's repeatability and predictability (especially if someone has already played it's predecessors). Also, it had a slight console taste, which never gets along with my game taste buds.

Jun 8, 2013Good but extremly overrated game! Story is good, graphics nice too, but other things not so great. Shooting is very poor. Game is too easy so all efforts about weapon and other upgrades is pointless because you can pass easy everything without upgrading anything! Good game, but most overrated this year!

Apr 18, 2013Game-play and history are really disassembled... It's beautiful but if you look very closely, you can see every ugly details. One rail and the loot is really, really really invasive....

PC Master (Greece)Jun 5, 2013Play BSI slowly, relish the moments and don’t rush to the end. It’s certain that you will have lived one of the richest gaming experiences that, as far as narration, lyricism and story are concerned, will take a lot of time to forget! [May 2013]
-
CD-ActionMay 7, 2013A very solid, but not revolutionary shooter in an amazing setting, with a story that struggles to convey its authors’ ambitions and is only seemingly complex. The vision is less focused than in previous Bioshocks and it does a worse job on binding the plot with gameplay. [CD-Action 05/2013, p.46]
-
May 1, 2013Problematic plotting and excessive amounts of poorly balanced combat apply friction to what is otherwise one hell of a rollercoaster. [May 2013, p.80]
