    The game is solid 8.

    After first hour, when game opens up you can go anywere. Its very fun map to explore, secrets and goodies. Narrator can be annoying for some players, but i actually really enjoyed the Polish language narrator. I think its mostly the english accent that people have hard time with. Bet if it was woman narrating some people would like it more. Dont follow reviews,    The game is solid 8.

    Dont follow reviews, try game urself. Its very fun game with interesting crafting looting. Also combat simple yet takes practice to get really good.

    I advice on starting game on Hard. Especially if you have alot of experiance with Souls series like games. Also after you unlock some stuff thru main quest, ignore it. Go play all the side stuff first.

    This game should definitely be given awesome reward, especially with team of 20. Alot of fun, great quality, very quirky. Just watch 10 years down the road, thos is going to be collector video game item from PS4. That going to be worth alot.    … Expand

    great game with a lot of heart from a small indie developer. you can listen to biased reviewers that didnt get paid or you can play it and form your own opinion about this game. after all you can allways go and play some yearly reskinned trash from AAA studios, atleast reviewers are giving it 8 or 10 :)

    Extremely fun and rich world! The crafting is god tier, the amount of weapons I can make with trash just laying around is outstanding. 50 hours in and I'm still waking up thinking about playing again.

    Biomutant is a charming and beautifully stylized game that harkens back to an earlier style of RPG. It is full of character and rewards exploration of the beautiful world THQNordic crafted. The combat is fluid and fun, the crafting is highly customizable, the soundtrack is tranquil and beautiful, and the character design is unique and stylized well.

    Biomutant is far from perfect but it does not deserve most of its negative reviews. Biomutant is a very interesting game with a lot of ambition it hits pretty close to the mark on most of its mechanics, and only falls noticeably short on a few. The game opens up with an interesting CHARACTER CREATION screen. It offers a lot of customization, but there are some major flaws. First of allBiomutant is far from perfect but it does not deserve most of its negative reviews. Biomutant is a very interesting game with a lot of ambition it hits pretty close to the mark on most of its mechanics, and only falls noticeably short on a few. The game opens up with an interesting CHARACTER CREATION screen. It offers a lot of customization, but there are some major flaws. First of all it operates on a wheel system. Dragging your cursor closer to a desired attribute on the circle will distance it from anything on the other side of the circle. This means that if your two most desired attributes are on opposite sides of the circle then you are basically just screwed (dragging your cursor to different attributes will also force a change of appearance, while this is pretty annoying your appearance can be altered later in game without affecting stats so this is a pretty minor inconvenience). The other major flaw in character creation would be the different races and classes. Races change your appearance and increase or decrease certain attributes. For example the Dumdon race increases strength but decreases intelligence. this is a familiar but welcome mechanic unfortunately the buff in strength and decrease in intelligence makes almost no difference after the first hour or so of the game. Once you start leveling up you can greatly increase strength, intelligence, etc. to your liking making the minimal attribute changes in race mean absolutely nothing. this means the whole race selection is completely meaningless. I notice the same problem in class selection, basically each class has a different set of class specific unique perks, meaning its only available to that class, but when you start upgrading your character you instantly gain access to general perks, which are available to every class. each class only has about 4-5 unique perks and most of them are completely underpowered compared to the 20-30 general perks, which again are available to literally everyone and can easily be unlocked. Some classes even share the same "unique" perks making them feel well, not unique. basically if a class has a unique perk there's a general perk that does it better. Similar to the race selection this makes the class selection feel meaningless and pretty hollow. while it's very fun to spend 15-20 minutes making your little mouse, racoon, dog, guy, it makes almost no difference while actually playing. fortunately where the characters, races, and classes fail to offer different playstyles the weapons definitely add some variety. The crafting is very fun and addicting, and different weapons can be used to shake up ones playstyle. this variety in weapons paired with a decently fun and tight combat system makes for a pretty good time bashing through enemies. sadly this brings me to another major flaw the guns are ridiculously overpowered, while any melee feels slightly underpowered. basically guns offer a higher dps, at a safer distance. The most effective form of combat is easily just spamming the dodge roll while shooting at an enemy about 10 meters from you. this makes you virtually untouchable and offers an insanely high dps, but its a lot more button-mashy and a lot less fun then any form of melee combat. I often have to reluctantly force myself to push in and combo enemies with my swords, although this drains through health and heals a lot faster, its so much more rewarding and exciting albeit more risky then just dodge rolling with guns. If you can ignore the major gun flaw and try not to abuse it, the combat becomes pretty fun. The last major flaw would be the very 2-dementinal npcs they feel outaded as if they belong in an rpg from decades ago, and very few have actual personalities, or any dialog beyond repeatedly spewing the same basic sentence. Besides these flaws the game is a very satisfying, although repetitive loop of exploring/questing, finding loot, crafting weapons, and killing enemies, while taking occasional breaks to do story missions. the world reminds me of Botw, there are things to do and places to explore at every corner and they're all pretty entertaining. unfortunately before entering this loop you are forced through a bland and pathetic 1-2 hour tutorial that hardly teaches you anything and is extremely hard to get through (not difficult just mind-numbingly boring). I believe most of the bad reviews and complaints stem from people who are stuck in this tedious tutorial stage, and don't even realize it. another complaint I see very often revolves around the narrator being annoying, but there is a setting to turn him off so its not a huge deal, although he does about 2/3 of the voice acting so your losing a lot of content there. to conclude Biomutant is essentially a giant bolder that's hard to get moving but once its rolling you should have a great time, I definitely see myself dumping some hours into Biomutant this summer.(note: I would rate this an 8 but I chose 10 due to review bombers)… Expand

    This game is a lot of fun! Pure simple fun!. The story isn’t anything ground breaking, and starts out as what could be considered a revenge plot against a throwaway antagonist quickly opens up into a save the world from impending doom situation against 4 giant bosses. Each boss is well done and unique in its own rights, and that comes onto the world your thrown into it’s a large open worldThis game is a lot of fun! Pure simple fun!. The story isn’t anything ground breaking, and starts out as what could be considered a revenge plot against a throwaway antagonist quickly opens up into a save the world from impending doom situation against 4 giant bosses. Each boss is well done and unique in its own rights, and that comes onto the world your thrown into it’s a large open world map with plenty to see and plenty to loot! Crafting is addictive and amazing simply put the best crafting system you can see. The combat is simple yet with plenty to craft and mess about with you can stop it getting dull.     This is the first game I really enjoy since The Witcher 3. It’s not perfect, it’s not new or revolutionary, but it has heart. It’s just a nice story with nice exploration and hidden possibilities, especially in the combo system. And what makes it great is that everything is optional: combos are great but you can x,x,x,x your way through fights, use magic, traps or just run, jump andThis is the first game I really enjoy since The Witcher 3.     A genuinely fun and vibrant world to explore with non of the horrible trappings of current open world games. The story is enough to motivate the game, but nothing special. Combat will be boring if you choose not to engage with the systems and just rely on ranged combat. Crafting system is a lot of fun.

    Simply put close to perfect for me as it offers a great world to explore without much baggage.

    O que devo dizer sobre o jogo inicialmente? Até agora, tudo o que tenho a dizer é que ele é bom em todos os aspectos.
    Gameplay
    Biomutant é um RPG de ação de mundo aberto, mas ao contrário de muitos jogos hoje, Biomutant é muito cuidadoso com relação ao seu mundo aberto.
    Mundo:
    Temos uma ambientação de duas, três ou mais "camadas" que nos levam ao subsolo, fotos nas paredes que começam quests secundárias além de encontrar novas armas nelas. Prédios que são puzzles para itens importantes, ou prédios que abrem portas e trancas, que podem nos levar para outro local... Mesmo no plano geral do mapa temos portas escondidas, paredes que precisam de armas especiais para serem abertas e até mesmo montarias diferenciadas que nos levam a um novo local. Todo o mapa de Biomutant é bem recheado e muito bem trabalhado em todo o seu visual, NPCs, inimigos bem distribuídos e até mesmo locais destruídos tem um motivo e/ou pretexto na lore para estar ali.

    No quesito de mundo aberto isso é tudo que posso dizer sem dar spoiler do game.

    Outro detalhe interessante é que temos uma consciência que sempre interage com nós mesmos nos dando basicamente boas ou más escolhas: Fazer o bem ou ser o errado que quer levar vantagem em tudo. Isso influencia bastante nas escolhas da parte mais central de RPG do jogo, no tipo de perks que ganharemos ou deixaremos de ganhar, e até mesmo como o mundo e personagens reagem a nossa presença... Para quem já jogou InFamous 1 e 2 assim como o Second Son, já vai estar bem familiarizado com esta mecânica. Eu particularmente achei muito bem adaptado ao jogo, exceto pelo momento que surge o clássico diabinho e anjinho nos nossos ombros, onde acaba nos gerando a dúvida se estes dois personagens - que são a manifestação da nossa consciência - realmente estão em nós como seres vivos ou são apenas projeções visuais da nossa consciência para o jogador. No fim eu gostei bastante de como essa técnica foi aplicada ao gameplay, ao mundo e até mesmo ao combate.

    Combate:
    O Combate do jogo é algo tão bom que classificaria até como “fora da curva” de um RPG de ação, onde você não usa apenas espadas ou armas de fogo, mas também pode usar os dois ao mesmo tempo junto com habilidades que utilizam, por exemplo, estamina. O combate comum com os botões de face do controle são livres ao seu uso, já que Biomutant NÂO É um soulslike. A estamina é sim usada e faz parte das mutações do seu personagem, onde incluem: chamas, bola faiscante e teletransporte (que gera um rastro com dano), sendo assim cerca de 8 poderes Psiônicos (pelo menos até o momento pudemos observar 8). Com isso, há uma lista bem generosa de Biogenéticas: Mutações que podem causar danos em uma área, um vomito radioativo, um raio de fumaça venenoso, bolha de muco e outras que vamos evoluindo com o tempo.
    Sendo assim, podemos mesclar todas as habilidades Psiônicas, Biogenéticas com combate corpo a corpo e usar alguma arma, que pode ser de fogo, espadas ou luvas em propulsão a jato.
    Biomutant é um jogo com ação bem frenética com uma grande variação usando o seu estilo de combate marcial único chamado de Wung Fu (que é explicado na lore do jogo) e temos toda uma variação de movimentos onde podemos apender mais conforme avançamos no jogo e subimos de nível.
    Para fechar sobre o tema combate do game, podemos dizer que as luvas de combate corpo a corpo são algo muito importante, pois com elas que podemos dar dano elemental. Começamos com uma luva de raios e logo após uma luva que não possui um elemento definido, mas tem a dupla funcionalidade de, além de usar em combate, podermos destruir alguns locais do cenário para descobrir segredos e itens escondidos e até novas áreas inacessíveis se você estiver sem esse equipamento.

    História
    Como explicado no início, nossa live de review só pode chegar até 4horas de jogo, fizemos internamente pelo relógio do game 3h40min, a live-review foi cerca de 3h52m.
    A lore do game se situa em um mundo devastado pela ganância e exploração extrema dos recursos naturais do planeta, nós humanos até onde se indica, poucos dos que sobraram viajaram para outro planeta em busca de um novo local para chamar de lar, até onde jogamos não diz a aonde exatamente foram ou se realmente são humanos, já que é penas citado como ‘’os antigos’’ e nem a quanto tempo se foram, mas pelo visto pode ter sido a centenas de anos, já que cidades estão tomadas pela natureza e a mudança geográfica já não é mais a mesma.

    Its alot of fun and you can see theres alot of work and love put into this game wich counts as a acore for me, haters will hate. Because they cant see beyond the point if they dont like a game others do they immediatly say its a 2 or 1 instead of going like oh its a game and i dontt like it, its not for me maybe ithers wil enjoy

    Best open world game. I like it. I feel relaxing in this game. Story is very good. Graphic is good. Song is good. Rpg mechanics is fantastics likes upgrading level and tools. Gameplay needs little work but in fact no problem. Play this fantastic games

    The hate is baffling. Maybe it's a "not for everyone" type of game but more than likely it's from people who haven't played it or haven't figured it put yet.

    The graphics are amazing, the combat is fun and diverse, the crafting system is well done, and the narrators voice is great. If you don't like the narrator, then you can turn it off.     It's incredibly refreshing to play a game like this that dares to do the ARPG genre a little differently.
    Biomutant isn't a souls-like, it doesn't want you to craft anything and it doesn't ask you to sit to the side for half of a lengthy battle while your health recharges.
    Biomutant wants you to craft a character (of which the types are incredibly varied and will have you playing multiple times to experience how divergent they are) then get out there and start having fun and it throws multiple enemies at the player from the get-go, assuming you've played enough action games before not to waste time building you up to a moderate challenge immediately.
    Combat is excellent and responsive and the different areas of special abilities that can be upgraded are all explained to the player gradually over the course of the games opening 45 minutes, which serves as a mini tutorial of sorts.
    The story is a typical videogame post-apocalypse one with a well acted narration running throughout but let's face it, if you're playing a videogame for the story, I think I can save you some money and point you towards the sci-fi section of your local library.
    This game is at times pretty, sometimes funny but the one thing it constantly delivers is fun.
    Simple, if tough to master combat which is refined and expanded through a Mass Effect style class and upgrade system that you could enjoy all summer going through different classes and never playing in the same way twice and perhaps most importantly for gamers like me who are tired of the constant barrage of slow combat souls-likes games, this is an action RPG, where the focus is well and truly on the ACTION, and it is all the more fun for it.

    I don't really understand the negative reviews, so far. Originality and story seem strange complaints in this genre and anyone complaining about combat is simply wrong. The combat is spot on.     People that give a bad note, i don t get it, the game is really good. They just boomer. Take the game you will love it.

    Charming world, great combat and interesting characters. Once you get past the initial narration and tutorial sections the game really opens up. One of the best open world games of recent years.

    Narration sucks? Turn him off in the Audio Settings.
    Combat sucks? Try something other than mashing buttons and you get the depth you want so badly.
    Story sucks? Play the Exploration Part of the Game instead and RP. Havent seen a good story in games for like 10 years, so no expectations were set. I just want to be a radioactive Catrat shooting big dudes in the face. You know... like what an RPG is about.
    World is Empty? This isn't Fallout where you find 20 guns and 50 scrap in a single hut. In most post-apocalyptic games it would come to mind that in a span of a couple hundred years 98% of stuff would've been looted already, right? Well, here we are. Finding the last remnants that were'nt found yet.
    Also the World is full with different Biomes to look at. Quite the Vibe-Game in that regard.
    Graphics suck? Depends on preference. Do you need 16k HyperHD Fur and Grass? For me, No. It's good.
    It's cozy to just walk around and you can easily lose yourself in the world for a couple hours. Vibe.
    Music sucks? Audio. Settings. Exist. Sometimes you need your own tunes to spice things up. I get that. I do it in almost every game now. But musical scores aren't everything. Suite yourself.

    So the heavens have not blessed us with a Gaming-Jesus yet again. So it's not the best game of the Millenium. Real Shocker. I say: So what? It's still a good Game.

    In summary: This game was made by a studio of 20 people. After years of making a game that doesn't need a 30GB Day 1 Patch for once and can present itself like it does it should have some value to ask from it's customers. People expect $120 content from a $60 game. The game economy is horrible as it is. Crunching, underpayment, people buying only under steep discounts, ect. The fact that we don't have to pay $80 for games yet is remarkable. Also Hype is never good for games. Dissapoints people more nowadays, because "It's not what i thought it would be"- Nonsense. Reflects in these mixed scores.

    Support people who did a good job. Buy it and try it. There is always refund if you don't like it. But you're missing out. This game is a gem. And a reminder that some people get filtered by a britishly narrated tutorial.    … Expand

    +Exploration is huge in this game and really fun to navigate.
    +Character creation is amazing
    +The world does have lots of enemies but you must actively search for them.
    +The world is full of charming little puzzles all very similar but not exactly the same.
    +Side quests are everywhere which helps lead you to enemies if you are lost.
    +The stories are varied and two characters can have very different game plays
    +Loot is amazing every thing has a purpose even if at first you don't know what its for.
    +Crafting is humorous and fun at least i liked it
    +Ranged is a lot easier than melee
    +Gear is really strange and quite funny.
    +After the early tutorial the world opens up immensely.

    -The narrator is annoying to many (not me) but he can be disabled.
    -Enemies can be brutal for melee classes even on easy mode
    -Dodge and block combat tells are really hard to see mid fight which make melee very hard to play.
    -No motion Blur removal can make customers sick ((me included) is it being added)

    For myself on an older PC the game has run very smooth and sweet and my Cpu is below recommended Core i5 3470 but still runs this fine, my Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb has had no hitches or stutter and zero crashes so far on 460.97 drivers. I even run the game on a standard Harddrive WD 1tb blue.

    I would have loved a fog removal option to make the game less intensive on pc's.

    So if you are looking for a Samurai styled cutesy version of Fallout 4 pretty much down to the wire go no further than Biomutant, and for me i've had zero issues the negative reviewers have said.

    One last thing i'd like to thank 101 for this game, its been a few years since i've enjoyed an open world sandbox game this much thanks. Great game all round.    … Expand

    People need to play the game 2+ hours before giving it a **** score . This is an RPG open world game, you can´t do a review in 2 hours. Biomutant is a wonderful videogame with beautiful landscapes and amazing and deep combat. Peple complaining about combat just because they only do button smashing. Props to THQ Nordic for making such a good game with such a limited crew and budget.

I was on the fence, of course reviewers give you an opinion to make an oriented purchase. But, when there is so many mixed comments about the game. Best try it for yourself. Definitely not a Cyberpunk 2077 broken upon release... which stands on a positive status to this day. There are many that gave the game a negative NO because steam does not have a neutral score, but otherwise have enjoyed quiet a few aspects of the game. Exploration is nice and relaxing, with a tone of movement mechanics. Really, a tone of movement combos to discover and master.     I've been playing the hell out of this game. I had 7.5 hours on the first day. It feels like a fun mix of Skyrim and Skylanders. The narrator and gameplay are fun. The story is good but leaves room for improvement. Goop is the best game character of the decade. The combat is amazing in the game. I really enjoy it.

    Absolutely phenomenal game in and of its own, but factor in the fact that it was lovingly hand crafted by a small team of 20 on a tight budget adds even more to the magic of Biomutant. I have not played such an original title in years, from the world, to the story, to the combat, it all truly shines when experiencing it firsthand. Don’t let the negative reviews deter you from this amazing game.

    It's not AAA and I don't understand why people ever thought it was.
    The gameplay released was very honest on what the game would be.
    The character creation is interesting and I like the fact that your character's body changes based on stats so if you want high intelligence you are gonna to have a big head. I thought was a brilliant idea vs all these RPG games that subsequently need YouTubers to tell you how to make an attractive character. Maybe because I'm an old gamer my expectations are not unrealistic. People review bombs for very petty reasons like a delayed release date or frame rate. These kids need to play some pong and Galaga and change their nappys.

    The controls can be quirky at times, but that's only because i play a lot of different games in a day and that i tend to forget the control mapping, even more with a newly released game. I really like that game so far. Might change my opinion later, but i still have to dig a lot deeper into that game.

It is extremely in-depth and reminds me quite a bit of Fallout 4, the difference being you have to not only find the specific parts and then use those, on top of materials, in order to craft. The movement is very nice on controller (PS4)I really enjoy this game. Not knowing what to expect going in, there are quite a few systems thrown at you relatively quickly. I love the crafting system.     My only gripe as it stands is the combat which while amazing on the paper & to watch needs rebalancing overall. The difficulty, even on the hardest, is way too easy & melee combat almost pointless compared to guns, since circling around enemies and shooting infinite ammo is a 100% risk free method with just about anything in this game.

    Overall an enjoyable experience, which has clearly had soul, blood and tears poured into it and deserves to be played beyond the tutorial. Whilst Biomutant cannot compete with AAA multi-million budget open worlds, it certainly hasn't deserved the backlash and toxicity it has received in the early hours of its release.    … Expand

    Moving to the Good: the customization/crafting is amazing, the writing/humor is nice (I like when games have something to say), while the combat is floaty the number of styles and weapon/weapon types are great, the world is beautiful and varied with many bios and hazards, natural roadblocks and game pacing, the good and bad system is nice (I love the back and forth they have).

    All and all I am liking it, I think $40 would have been a better price but I decided to pay the extra $20 to help support a new studio and one single-player focused. I play enough games to know 4 to 5 hours in if I'm going to beat it or not and this one is a beat. It is far from perfect I can tell this was a passion project and that alone makes it worth my time.

    Long-winded part::
    It seems like most Triple-A studios are moving towards the next Fortnite/PUBG (and failing at it) and they all feel mechanical. Most larger game studios seem to focus on the latest trend and the best graphic, but they lack passion and imagination. Biomutant is a breath of fresh air even if there is some cigarette smoke mixed in; Experiment 101 was coming from the heart. This isn't the shining beacon of gaming we all hoped it would be but I feel if they keep at it and learn from this Biomutant 2 will be.    … Expand

I will have my next quest marker about 1k meters away but rather than just B-line to the quest marker I would see a man hole cover. Go down in it. Realize I need to upgrade my heat protection. Well time to abandon the main quest so I can get whatever goodies are in this tunnel. Spend the next 20 minutes rushing to get a heat protection suit. Go back in there. Find an awesome new piece of gear to wear and find the rest of the parts to build a new gun from scratch. I am now a wizard machine gun toting sledgehammer smashing mutated version of Stuart little. If you played this game for less than 3 hours and returned it and gave it an unfavorable review please remove that for you didn’t experience the game and shouldn’t be qualified to leave such reviews.     I like the game. I expected something goofy and lite and that's what I got. The combat is a bit on the clunky side but the world looks nice and feels like a post-apocalyptical whimsical wasteland. I thought I wouldn't like it and it certainly has it's issues, some quests are bugged, the narrator can be annoying but there is still a lot to like about the game. We'll see how the patch goes.

    I've played 9 hrs of this game so far and the combat, story, and world is just amazing I highly recommend if you love open world games. Also idk how critics finished this in 15 hrs, I haven't even seen half the map or beat 1 boss yet. Critics must have not even seen most of game cause I hear it can be up to 65 hrs long to explore everything in this game.

The narrator is the most prominent negative point but it is difficult for me to negatively assess the work of this small studio and that it has brought us an adventure of exploration that is very worthwhile.

    Great game! Fun to play, combat is great, and the combos you can execute keep it fresh. Crafting is insanely in depth, and the mutation + morality system to unlock different psi powers is fun and engaging. Love digging through an old destroyed & abandoned city for loot, weapons, and armor.

    You can go almost everywhere you want with a lot of different vehicle's and mounts.

    The only bad this is the story and the somewhat janky combat system.

    But for a small team form around 20 people they sure did a good job.

    It’s got amazing graphics and the art direction is top notch. It runs beautifully as well on an RTX 2070 with everything maxed out at 1440p. The main complaints for me would be solved with a “lock on” feature with combat.     Look, gaming is so ‘safe/complacent’ at this point, it’s almost more about investors and shareholders than the games and the gamers. It leads indie developers and AAA companies to play it safe. New IP’s of this caliber are few and far between. I applaud Experiment 101 for going out of their way and taking a chance on this game. For a team of 20 people it’s amazing what they’ve done and I’m really enjoying it for what it is.

    It’s disheartening to see everyone who’s leaving negative reviews when only playing the game themselves for half an hour. It’s almost scary how much people take their favorite gaming review companies or youtubers word as fact and let it effect their opinion of a game before they play it themselves.

    If you like open world games that have tons side quests and customization options for you to achieve, this is a good game for you. If story and super tight gameplay are for you, I’d stay away. This is a more “relaxing” and fun exploring kinda game with story and combat thrown in the mix. I enjoy that, others may not. I’m just happy to finally have something new and different and I’ll always support developers who take leaps of faith do something out of the ordinary like this.    … Expand

    The bad:
    - The first hour is a little rough due to the lack of polishing around scenes. (But the game gets downright breathtaking as it takes off its training wheels. You can tell where the small dev team ran out of time, BUT they did get the meat of the game right in my honest opinion.)
    - Sound design at times can feel unfinished but nothing game braking and again it's spot on in key moments. When the music hits while you are overlooking the beautiful world etc.
    - Overall the game could have used some more polishing for the UI and the scene transitions. But nothing that can't be patched.

    Conclusion:
    This is a great title.
    Biomutant is fun, weird, quirky and most importantly very refreshing. It doesn't necessarily do anything new, but that is okay it doesn't have to, to be fun. While I understand that it's not for everyone just like the "Jak," "Conker" and "Ratchet and Clank" titles aren't everyone's favorite.
    I believe this game is a great addition to the afore mentioned titles.

    Review Adjustment: 8/10 but had to make it a 10 because of review bombers that blatantly lie about the title and/or have not played passed the 1.5 hour introduction of the game, making invalid claims.    … Expand

    Cons:
    - combat is quite shallow and misses proper feedback at times
    - the development team noticibly lacks skills in producing engaging cutscenes

    Not sure if the critics even played the same game but I'm really enjoying the hell out of this one. The open world is very fleshed out with a lot of interesting things to explore and just a very charming design. The combat gives a lot of options for the player to fight and it feels very fluid, utilizing a mix of Devil May Cry and the Batman Arkham games. The graphics are gorgeous and runsNot sure if the critics even played the same game but I'm really enjoying the hell out of this one. The open world is very fleshed out with a lot of interesting things to explore and just a very charming design. The combat gives a lot of options for the player to fight and it feels very fluid, utilizing a mix of Devil May Cry and the Batman Arkham games. The graphics are gorgeous and runs beautifully, I can max it out at 4k 60 on my RTX 3070 with dynamic resolution enabled. It seems to be very well optimized on my PC, only encountered a couple of times I had noticeable frame drops, and they weren't bad at all, still very playable. I hear people rag on about the music but I feel it really adds a sense of wonder to the exploration and isn't overbearing, it's meant to compliment what's on screen instead of be the star of the show. Only complaints I have is the narrator is used a bit too much so I do skip some dialogs once I read the subtitles, and the button combinations for some combo moves can still be triggered regardless if you connect with an enemy, so it looks kind of goofy when I'm doing a flying piledriver move with nothing in my hands. And don't pay too much attention to the critics on this one, they have oddly contradicted each other multiple times in the reviews, some saying the open world is too empty and bit and some saying too small, some saying the company is too easy and some too hard, can it really be all those things at the same time? I feel this will be like Dying Light in that it only got a 71 on Metacritic yet ended up one of the most beloved games of the generation, sometimes the critics do miss the mark people. Give it a try for yourself, wait for a sale if you must or if you play on pc you can sub for a month of EA play pro to play it for $15. (It's not an EA game but I got them and thq Nordic had some kind of deal, I know Darksiders 3 was released similarly when it came out)… Expand

    Fun and easy gameplay, interesting world to interact with. The dialog gets a bit tiresome, they should figure out a patch to encapsulate the entire cut scene in a paragraph and get you back to exploring and fighting... like you hit A and it breezes through and leaves you with a synopsis of the results.

    Biomutant is stunning and the gameplay feels solid after the first patch.
    Disable the narrator, camera shake, QTE and motion blur.

    So, we have a huge world to explore. The main story is deep and have a lot of unexpected turns. Boss fights are pretty good, crafting is great, tribes are cool though etc. Overall it feels like a Horizon Zero Dawn parody.

    Biomutant has a class system, where you can choose the type of gameplay you'll develop throughout the game. The skill tree is huge, and the possibilities at building up your character are vast.

    The negative aspect of the game, in my opinion (so far, since I have just 25ish hours clocked in) is the lack of a variety in music (the OST is great, but it gives the impression that no matter where you go or what you do, it's always the main theme that's playing). Also, the story (then again, I haven't finished the game yet, keep that in mind) is apparently not very deep. So far, it's a shallow "post-apocalyptic world where the main character is the chosen one, and the events were caused by industries greed and oil spilled at the oceans", I sincirely hope it gets better.

    It's also important to notice that Biomutant had an update recently, so several points made in the early reviews are no longer valid.

    Concerning the bad reviews: I truly doubt 80% of the people who wrote one have actually played the game for more than 10 hours, because the majority of the aspects pointed out just doesn't make any sense if you played the game. Another aspect of it is people are taking things for granted nowadays. The fact that Biomutant was developed with a small team (20ish people), with a very small budget is awesome alone.

    Biomutant is not the best video-game of all time, and it clearly doesn't try to be. Still, a great game which brings a lot to the table, daring to run away of a lot of repetitive aspects very (re)used in the industry currently.

    Amazing game, everything is hand crafted to perfection. Narrated very well, great customization, easy best indie of 2021. I honestly wonder what goes through peoples heads when they give undertale 10s and this game low scores when undertale is made in 1year under little to no effort.

    Unfortunately, the developers somehow thought cheaping out on the voice acting and using a narrator for the entire game's storytelling was a good idea. News flash; it's not. In fact, even the writing for the narration wasn't good either. Turning it off in the settings just removes the auditory annoyance, but doesn't fix anything about the presentation of the story at all.

    I can't say I can fully recommend this game, as it has some quirks that mainstream players may not like (especially those that are used to the polish on AAA games). But in a larger sense, it is worth a try if you're buying it for less than half its ridiculous price tag.    … Expand

    Character creation aside it can get really funny with the attribute slider lol gave me quite a few giggles. The world is Beautiful and the combaat encounter from time to time feel actually good as long as you don't do button mashing + it's best    The game feels like a very relaxing Fairy Tale.

    Llevo ya mas de 40 horas y lo estoy disfrutando bastante, al juego le veo alguno errores como el narrador no xk sea lento ya, es que no muestra mucho entusiasmo la verdad aun asi se puede quitar, poner en otro idioma. La dificultad, lo estaba jugando en dificil y me estaba quejando de lo facil que lo veia pero es lo que pasa en estos juegos, te pones a hacer secundarias y subes mucho deLlevo ya mas de 40 horas y lo estoy disfrutando bastante, al juego le veo alguno errores como el narrador no xk sea lento ya, es que no muestra mucho entusiasmo la verdad aun asi se puede quitar, poner en otro idioma. I love, love, love crafting in this game, every time I find a new piece I can use to craft or modify a weapon I feel an odd amount of excitement, that leaves me wanting to find as much loot as I can in the open world! While the narrator is my only negative with the game, I really liked the story, I enjoyed coming into a brand new world and experiencing this incredible lore I never knew I needed to experience, it felt like each time I met a new character I just wanted to learn as much as I could about them!     After the intro the game expands, and you are free to do what you want. I have speeding allot of time just rooming around, exploring, and tinkering with gear, possible the best part of the game. The melee    I'm having a great time playing this game, and will not be done in a long time.

    The open-world aspect of Biomutant did more harm than good, with the gargantuan, post-apocalyptic realm this heroic, mutated rodent will explore being mostly an empty one, and with the rest of the experience being repetitive and unpolished. More of a disappointment rather than a bad game, try it out only if willing to spend around many fun, but not that fun hours.
