If you are used to games such as the Fallout series, expect to be disappointed - or not. It is more like a graphic novel, only using concepts and perception instead of words. Sure, the play is linear, but what else would you expect from such a simple plot. The game does not feed you with cues, allowing you to learn them from your environment. There are no map markers pointing you to the next task, but then, why would there need to be? After all, you are playing a recently blinded girl who has finally gained the courage to step out into the world beyond her front gate. A beautifully executed idea. Expand

Great little game! It's fun to slowly see the world kind of reveal itself to you. The walking pace is kind of annoying but it forces you to be at the same pace the character is at right? Absolutely beautiful style and music, Its a nice slow paced game to play before bed to slow down your mind. Id definitely recommend this game!

I am writing this from the perspective of a low vision person who has searched far and wide for decent video games I can play. This is one of them. The game follows Rae, a blind girl on her journey to find her cat Nani. Rae learns the world through sound and touch and fills is the white space by mixing sound with her memories from before she lost her sight. Rae learns the world through sound and touch and fills is the white space by mixing sound with her memories from before she lost her sight. The game offers the player an experience by playing from the perspective of someone who is blind, while offering a game that is accessible to those with vision impairment. Some reviews have commented that is very easy to get lost without realising that’s the point. It’s incredibly easy to get lost when you can’t see and the point of the game is to live the experience of a blind person. I highly recommend this game to non sighted people for its accessibility, and sighted people for its experience. Expand

Beyond Eyes is a weak story and an even worse game – completely linear and in my opinion painfully boring. [11/2015, p.37]

Neat premise and graphics, but slow, repetitive gameplay lets an ingenious concept down. [Oct 2015, p.73]

A very unique experience, that you should avoid if you're looking for a “traditional” adventure game. But it's really well made, emotionally strong and extremely good in communicating its messages.
