Gorgeous, expansive, realistic (or at least as much as an FPS can be), and simply loaded to the brim with content — in short, every bit as good as its predecessors. I don't mind the minor anachronisms (although I'm surprised that my fellow gamer Millennials cared about historical precision this much).

The lack of innovation and polish hurts more than it should, because ultimately Battlefield V is not a bad game, just not a great one either. Also, extremely poor anti-cheat.

I have more hours in this Battlefield than others so I guess that itself makes it a good game in my mind's eye. The division of tactical maps from strategic maps is imo the best part of BFV that separates it from previous games. Overall pretty much everything is done well. The downside to the game is the people who play it. this time around I didn’t care much for the multiplayer… I don’t know if recent advancements have just made me less patient in the multiplayer world, but here in batt;efield 5 it feels like spawn die spawn die.. worse than recent call of dudtys.. but the time it takes to actually get back in the game makes battlefield 5 multiplayer from firestorm, to the modes youre used to just frustrating to play through for me… so I pushed that to the side and just focused on its 5 and a half hour long campaign..
And thankfully the campaign here is beautiful.. so much attention to detail here… and a nice varity when it comes to the levels as you go across 5 different war stories… all with different languages.. so sadly if youre like me and hate subtitles.. you don’t relaly have a choice here if you want to know whats going on… I love that battlefield 5 at least tried to deliver a unique experience in each of the 5 stories.. but not nearly as much as battlefield 1… all 5 stories stuck out here.. but mostly for its setting aside for a snow level whee you get to travers with skiis, really having me wishing for a first person ssx game… but in terms of level design overall, all 5 chapters felt pretty identical, same objective, different location.. g oacross this open map, make stuff explode, rinse repeat with some cutscenes in between… I feel like dice needs to really take note from the call of duty team with their recent emphasis on variety throughout their campaigns… at times battlefield 5 does feel like its delivering mini first person shooter games inside one world… but most of the time, it all feels too familiar, having you wanting it to just be over alredy, rather thaan feeling like wow, what an amazing 5 stories like they did last time..
Overall im kind of over battlefield multiplayer, but as far as its singplayer goes, I really hope dice hone in on this, and delivers us more fleshed out mini stories, that don’t feel so copy and paste when it comes to objectives and delivery. I feel like this could help with the constant immersion breaking return to combat area countdown . its fine every once in a while, but constantly being told to get back in a quote unquote open world setting, just shows a lack of care when it comes to designing your experience.. it feels like a bandaid forcing you to be in the spot the game wants you to be in, rather design doing its job of keeping you there.
I havnt given up on this series yet, and at least for its war stories, Ill have a reason to keep coming back.
    I give Battlefield 5

+ More squad-focused gameplay is good.
+ Some innovation with fortification building
+ The weapon specialization trees are actually a good way to customize the guns to your playstyle.

    - The content feels a bit light, with only 8 maps, and some short War Stories. Although they will add to the game later on for free.
    - A lot of the multiplayer maps are too infantry focused an miss that "Battlefield" feeling: Devastation, Rotterdam, Fjell, Narvik: All pretty small and vehicles don't play a significant role.
    - Lacks the iconic WW2 battles (Stalingrad, D-day, Operation Market Garden, Battle of the Bulge, Iwo Jima, etc.). Feels much less like WW2 than even the original BF1942.
    - The grand operations mode is disappointing: not as good as Operations in BF1
    - Chaotic interface with a lot of visual clutter
    - Too much cosmetic B/S for the guns etc.

All in all I have had a lot of fun with this game so far, 20 hours in. But they will need to add some more content and maps soon, or it will start to feel old really quickly.

I decided to try it out through the Origin Basic. It was my second Battlefield game from the series. Battlefield 1 was the first one and i played it a lot- really liked it.

The first thing, that quite frustrated me, was time to kill, as someone in the previous reviews mentioned, you die, die and die, waiting for medic many times. In bad games it is really hard to focus, when you die so quickly. K/D ratio suffers. However, if you have a good team, which stick together and helps each other, this is not a big deal. But the word IF is a key here... you rarely get a good team. Many times people are camping with sniper rifles from the map corner, not willing to go into cap zone(not the developers fault, but it affects the pleasure from gameplay). And this is really frustrating. So - IF you have a good team, the low TTK will not bother you. If not - well. Prepare for frustration. I think, that time to kill is going to be changed again, but i may be mistaken.

I like special abilities available for the squad commander. Very good idea. And if a player, which is a commander, doesn't give orders, it stops to be commander after some time. That was a good decision, because i hated that in Bf 1, where poor squad commander didn't give orders, and we were losing points.

The second thing - sound. While the music is good(especially "under no flag" and "triumph". Both are awesome tracks) The sound is weird - it is often very hard to hear footsteps, and i hear tanks only, when they drive over me. It really doesn't help. You also don't feel the "might" of the weapon you are currently using. In BF 1 sounds of weapons were really awesome, here - they are not. It doesn't help the atmosphere.

In BF1 we had one weapon Skin to choose. Now we can choose a skin for each weapon element. It wasn't necessary - it only makes menu harder to manage. Upgrading weapons, however, is nice.

Building walls of sandbags and other entrenchments is a good fun. So is dragging stationary weapons by a truck or other vehicle.

Finally some words about performance - driving vehicles is annoying. They block on each and every tree, rock, stone wall. Some are sliding. Sometimes game is changing into small slide show, where planes and soldiers disappear, only to appear in other place after a second or two later. And i had ping 20. When i first tried to complete Norway campaign, couldn't, due to a bug. ;)

I wasn't happy about political correctness in the game or unhistorical elements. Others have written enough about it, i don't want to.

Some good decisons, some bad.. I think 7 is a fair rating.
    Sorry for possible spelling/grammar mistakes.

So nothing touches BF3 and 2 for me ever.
So after 100 hours playing online without ever completing a single sp campaign (I wish they wiould stop creating single player for a multiplayer game, seriously!) I will make a pause now and wait for new maps and that battle royale mode in march. Glad I don't have to pay for a DLC this time.
Though the graphic settings are pretty bugged for me (HDR fail and resolution bugs),
this game looks still like the best I've seen up to date (thanx GTX 1080! => 1440p60p with HDR and settings on ultra). Glad I bought it for PC not PS4 pro this time.
I only think there should've been 1-2 more maps for launch, or that Battleroyale mode....but hey...it comes in 2 months now.

Let me do a summary for the whiners:
    - single player doesn't matter, never mattered once!
    - TTK whiner, get a life
    - historical accuracy, who cares this is a semi-arcade multiplayer shooter with just enough realisic elements to stay fun
    - if you hate EA this is no reason to hate a very good DICE game

This game for me is one of the best battlefields ive ever played. The negative review bombing afected the future development and i dont think that we will be seeing a red army update. As for the history - read books, there are tons of them- this is a videogame ispired by historical events not a ww2 documentary - and walking around with a chick medic is totaly my cup of tea.

The game itself feels like a classic battlefield. They've done some good adjustments from BF1 (I've played BF since the first when I was but a child), and I'm sure they will continually listen to feedback and do adjustments as deemed nesessary. The gameplay feels good, the graphics are great (running on a 1080gtx), the vehicles are spot on..

As a battlefield fan and veteran, and lover of ww2 history, I give this game an 8/10. If you like BF and WW2, and have some money to spare, and an ok+ gaming pc, I'd give this a shot. If you have a **** computer, and don't have much money at the moment, I would recommend you pass (until the price drops in some months).

I was trying to make myself like this game. But it is too plastic - there is no life in it. Single campaign is the worst I have seen in the last 3-4 years. Both the missions layout and graphics. Multiplayer - it throws everything it has in your screen and it looks like a packed to capacity kindergarten: everything moves and flies around and everything feels like a toy, like a machine gun on your tank that shoots circle shaped projectiles (like on 1st generation Nintendo) that can't get the plane that flies 5 mph. We see animations when you shoot a guy that his helmet flies off, but if you are shot at you don't have such thing, nothing. This game for me personally is an insult. I paid for their last games hoping not to get cheated. Instead - got cheated twice. DICE always were an example of great artisanship. Now it's just a printing press. Hanging on what Battlefield 1 accomplished, Battlefield V keeps most of the concepts of its previous game on its multiplayer lot and expands it just a little, and after playing it 15 hours, you might feel there's not much to do on it.

Campaign: after one of the most epic prologues I've ever seen in a game, the rest of the campaign repeats the same level structure of each war story in terms of the gameplay: cutscene-infiltration mission-another cutscene-another infiltration mission but less linear-cutscene. Besides of this, these war stories doesn't feel to have enough relation or repercussion on the WWII course, they feel like these stories only happened in that time lapse, but nothing to see in the war.

Multiplayer: one of the most important progress this game made in comparison to Battlefield 1 is the weapon customization, because if in BF1 most of the weapons you could find were just variations of a single weapon and you weren't able to modify them, this time, the game allows you to actually change every benefit of them, from things that actually add these weapons an advantage for you once on the battlefield, to aesthetic aspects like their camouflage color. Leaving that aside, the rest of the multiplayer fails because of its current lack of playable content and its unbalanced matchmaking system. You might find every game mode really fun in the first hours, but the update plan its publisher took left a multiplayer focused game without enough necessary content to enjoy it after playing a few hours, without taking into account the fact that it doesn't have enough playable upgrades compared to its previous release.

Grand-operations: once again, only a a few upgrades regarding the gameplay and the course of the operation you want to play, but, unlikeh the rest of the game, in this mode you actually feel you're playing a WWII-based game, but still the rest of the game should have done this given the way this game is sold.

Conclusion: beside its stunning graphics and destruction engine, which actually had its previous release, Battlefield V does not feel like a WWII game, just as it lacks of enough enjoyable content on its multiplayer modes and, finally, puts on the table one of the most mediocre and less inspired campaigns in the Battlefield series. At this moment, I would not recommend this game with its current lack of content and taking into account we are barely on the first chapter of the update plan. Maybe the battle royale mode and the rest of the multiplayer content is yet to come to the game it could make it an enjoyable FPS game, but, just as it has been happening in the last two years, Electronic Arts lets us down once more.

Some positives about the game: The graphics are pretty much just BF1 with a few more textures, the animations that are not buggy look beautiful, online progression is at a good pace, and the game as a whole seems to be a bit more immersive than the previous iterations.

Recommendations: If you are looking for a new BF game, this will fulfill that desire. It is definitely more team based, so try to get a party to play with. Personally, I would wait until updates are made that would make the game play a little better.

Overall: 5/10. The game is buggy but fun. Once the bugs are fixed, I will update the rating accordingly. It feels like a twin to BF1, with some upgrades at the expense of some glitches. It is as fun as BF1 in my opinion, but I am hoping for more with the upcoming updates.

Instead enjoy some of the older battlefields, because they are a lot better. Expand

    Multijugador 7//10
    Banda Sonora 8/10
    Ambientación 4/10
    Rigor Histórico 3/10

Very atmospheric game! But a score of 7 for:
-Must play for the Nazis and kill the allies.
-the developers propose to dress the fascists more beautiful. What for ???
    - there are friezes between maps.

DON'T LISTEN TO THE REVIEW BOMBERS!
Great game with new mechanics improving the immersion to WW2. Hopefully we will see a good amount of extra content in the future as currently it is a bit lacking. Adding female soldiers to a WW2 game was a questionable choice though.

In a better place than where it was at launch but still has all the re-occurring issues from previous BF games. Devs seem to be very slow at updating the game also which makes the games maps and weapons get very repetitive very fast. Get on sale.

The game is one of the most fun once out of series and I personally have the most stable connect to servers since bf3. Gun play ,classes and progression is good though out. That said, the **** with story, lack of red army, swj **** and the fact that game is simply not finished is very upsetting. And the phrase "Soviets changed sides during the war" is not acceptable from company rep.

Battlefield V is a amazing game! it has the potential to become a 10/10, when DICE fixes some bugs and add some more content. Most people spamming bad reviews haven`t even played the game and gives no consturctive critisis.
Despite women being in the game, it still feels like a WW2 games. I am personally against woman in the game, but i won`t make it stop me from enjoying the game! You

You can also choose if you want male female, and you can change your outfit. You can get plenty of outfits without spending a penny, but for those who want it, they will add a optain to buy outfits with real money.
i currently give it a 8/10, but when the first free dlc comes out on 4.december the game properly deservs a 9/10

It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
