Why did you have to make it call of duty? why the player models feel cheap and hollow? why the new game modes are so bad? why half of the game is not ready on release? why the gameplay feel of battlefield 1 is way better?

EA **** up the franchise. So for 60 bucks you get, half or less of the game modes, half or less of the game content, which is reduced by third from bf4 and bf3. Ridiculous singleplayer stories. Broken game-mechanics from bf1943 and the censorship that took censorship on a whole new level. Thank god I got this game on a separate new Origin account so I could refund the game by selling theEA **** up the franchise. I am an open minded guy, because I could see past the whole historical incorrectness (but I understand why people dislike it), but the game play has nothing to do with battlefield anymore. Singleplayer as multiplayer feel wrong and somewhat unrealistic due to constant things that are in the wrong place and feel wrong. I feel like they take the word historic as serious as in their last games: not the least bit. They didn't try out something, they made it a bland Battlething (insert random number) puked out by dice.

    Singleplayer:
Weapons that don't belong on a certain battlefield or theatre of war at all are combined with unrealistic war stories that grandfather made up.
You are left alone in a somewhat open level with enemies all over the place that somehow thought it was wise to build weapon caches all around the map and don't even guard them at all. You can stealth, wich is mostly somewhat boring or you can shoot your way through wich is also kind of bland since it feels like playing an arena shooter with bots. There is no smart or good use of scripting to shake things up or make some missions more interesting. And the alone part bothers me, except for some special cases wars were not won by one man commandos, wars were won by platoons of soldiers taking objectives. The story snippets are nice and some are inspired by certain historic events that may have happened...but I think people wich really have fought there would be unhappy with how it's told.

    Multiplayer:
Battliefield finally somewhat feels like the thing Dice wants it to be: another COD game. It's fast and you need to constantly be on the move otherwise you will die. Teamplay is seldom really there and you don't really need it, they patched that out with Battlefield 3 I guess. I hoped that the voice chat would make the game a bit more about teamplay, but it is only used to yell at your teammates or to troll with horrible music. The game is riddled with bugs. i kind of hated most shooters that tried to implement weaponresting for their unreliabilities with that feature. I was surprised that Dice had their problems with it also, and it has cost me my life countless times. And I wouldn't have a problem if girls or people that really feel like girls could play female characters, but I find it confusing to see that 50% of the team is composed of females. There may have been woman in the war, some even fighting, but....next stop Battlefield 6 - weird panzer girls anime ****

This game was a lot of fun when it first came out. The gun play was fantastic and was really rewarding for aggressive and strategic play styles. I also liked how there was clear progression for each class. The game was admittedly addicting, especially if you are a completionist. The game also is rewarding for squads that play the objective.

I also liked how there was clear progression for each class. The game was admittedly addicting, especially if you are a completionist. The game also is rewarding for squads that play the objective.

The game has a lot of bugs though. Here are some of the bugs that still exist in the game:
    - Bad netcode which causes time-to-death (TTD) sequences at 1 or 2 frames
    - Getting stuck in the environment
    - Unable to jump over ledges that are practically 1 feet high
    - Unable to launch v1 and JB rockets and have half the screen blacked out
    - Cannot adjust assignments and weapon progression while in game
    - Not preventing spawns on squad-mates that are in combat, which leads to instant spawn deaths
    - No being able to spawn on points without clicking to a different point and clicking back
    - Slow loading screens when quitting out after a match has ended

In mid December Dice updated the game with a longer time-to-kill (TTK) value, which means a large majority of the weapons require more shots to down someone. This change practically changed the game in the worst way possible. Instead of having fun and rewarding gun play, everything now is more spongy and promotes a more defensive/camping style. Before, if you flanked a team you were rewarded with multiple kills. If you flank now, more than often, the enemy team will notice you and take you down before you can finish more than 1 kill. This just promotes squads clustering up with other squads and "zerging" to one point at a time. Also, having a longer time-to-kill doesn't help new players because in order to down someone, you need more precise shots, which is something they may lack when they first start playing the game. So new players will just find that they can't kill enemies and they still die quickly due to bad netcode and by more skilled players that can shoot with precision. Therefore, these new players will just stop playing the game due to frustration.

A large portion of the Battlefield community has asked Dice/EA NOT to adjust the time-to-kill, but instead fix the time-to-death issue which is associated with bad netcode. Dice/EA has ignored the loyal Battlefield community and rammed the TTK change down their throats, causing an uproar in social media. EA were hoping the change would please the casual new players during the holiday season, which it does not.

Because the game is broken now more than ever and due to the lack of respect from Dice/EA, I'm giving this game a score of 1. This game can be salvaged if EA/Dice listens to logical advice. Your core player-base and fans deserve better.

Its not even that bad, just utterly pointless.
Ofc its bugged, broken and comes with barely any content but I suppose that´s just what we have to expect from battlefield nowadays...
The fact that its set in WW2 and finally features a warstory about the German side is a big pro, but unfortunately the only one. And even that is screwed as the game doesnt even mention the eastern front,

The fact that its set in WW2 and finally features a warstory about the German side is a big pro, but unfortunately the only one. And even that is screwed as the game doesnt even mention the eastern front, the pacific or China... but thank god we have a map set in Narvik, seriously someone needs to get their priorities right.
And talking about warstories, why on earth would you take a covert operation famous for being completed without a single shot fired and turn it into the story of a girl single handedly obliterating half the german occupation force in Norway? JUST WHY??

And for the Multiplayer: One-shot throwing knifes and killstreaks straight out of CoD and an attrition system that tries to force squadplay but only ends up being annoying and increasing the problem of one or two squads of well coordinated players dominating a match to the point where its just not fun anymore to play when you are alone.
It just feels like DICE couldnt decide between making the game more casual and making it more hardcore, tried to do both and ended up achieving neither.
The game is not unplayable, but Bf 3/4 and even Bf 1 are just much more enjoyable.

And then there is the whole problem of historical revisionism, with DICE pandering to neo-feminist agendas and calling players "uneducated" for pointing out historical facts... but that has already been discussed enough.
It just adds another reason to not spend your money on this game.

Luckily however all of this is not really a problem since we can just continue playing Bf 3/4/1 without really missing out on anything, or get World War 3 which is both cheaper and better, or Hell Let Loose,...
Thats the beauty of the free market, if you dont like something you can always switch to the competition.

I do hope they get back on track with the next entry though, as it would be a real shame to see Battlefield die because of this mess...

Leaving aside the many questionable narrative decisions made in this game, there is a much bigger problem. Battlefield V on PC is a raging dumpster fire of bugs and poor optimization.

I've played most of the BF games; they have all struggled with quality, but this thing is on a whole other level. We are more than 2 months past release day, and the game still won't even start reliably.

We are more than 2 months past release day, and the game still won't even start reliably. Origin, which is easily the worst launcher/DRM client in the industry, may be the culprit, but what difference does it make? Origin has, somehow, gotten incrementally worse over time. It feels like a homebrew java app now, and runs worse.

If you can properly align your decoder ring long enough get BFV running, it's an uninspired, paint-by-numbers WWII shooter. In other words, it's boring.

EA has taken some undeserved flak over the years. They've earned a ton, too, but some was just a pile-on.

They deserve every ounce of it for this game. BFV is a low point for a publisher who has had too many of them in recent years.

Dice has lost touch with what made the beloved Battlefield series so great...

Way too many different appearances for each Class (of infantry), it makes it confusing trying to identify who's who from who in Multiplayer (IE: trying to find a Medic or a Support? Good luck, there's 10+ different type of outfits each class can wear (Thanks EA and micro-transactions!). Oh and by the way,

A little too much Dice, you should remember to keep things SIMPLE, TRANSPARENT, AND most importantly of all: FUN! (See Bad Company 2, If I needed a Medic I would just look for the dude wearing the red beret!)

The audio (voice acting/positional audio + sound effects) in the Multiplayer are also underwhelming.
Footsteps, audio cues and sound effects just aren't there to make it feel like a Battlefield game for me.
To get a real sense of what the community expects from DICE in the audio department, see Battlefield Bad Company 2.

The map designs now-a-days are also underwhelming...
I don't feel the same vibes of a true WWII scenario (at least not yet) such as BF1942.

All in all, MP sandbox experience is still there, but I feel that most of the OG DICE Devs are long gone now and don't know if Battlefield will ever be the same again.

Also what's up with the SJW agenda being shoved down our throats?

We want cussing, cursing, and authentic feel of a war game... not sensitive pansy whiny audio effects.

What happened DICE?!?! Did your balls drop off?

This game just blows. The menus are terrible, loading times are unbearable (even with a PCIe 4.0 m.2 drive) and the addition of female soldiers completely throws you off and takes you out of the experience. It feels like a fortnite kids game with a bf skin.

Battlefield 5 is a betrayal. DICE has betrayed us - the Battlefield game title community. This is the worst Battlefield game ever, after which I no longer believe (although I want to believe) in the return of the Battlefield game series.
