    The 13 year old predecessor managed to have a catchy soundtrack, bots and the possibility to play coop on the huge maps!
    It even had mods-support!
    Battlefield 4 on the other hand feels like a hamsterwheel and grindfest replaced good gameplay! This was the game that made me quit online-gaming and continuing playing only cooperatively with friends!     If you thought Battlefield was an alternative to the annoying and kiddy-riddled Call of Duty you are wrong!
    Be prepared for annoying waiting-queues and sometimes totally unexplainable loading times!

    It looks fantastic!
    and yes:
    It sounds even better!
    In fact: There is no other game that has this absolutely astonishing sound-design! But it's nothing more than a facade!
    In fact it consists of an annoying and totally hollow game-mechanic!
    A XP-System that deludes you into achieving something, and is obviously a cover up for the bug-riddled gameplay and hostile game-enviroment with more random deaths and unfair gameplay every round!

    The servers are filled with cheaters and death-squads who overrun and deliberately hunt newcomers!

    If you thought: "Just have to get better", there is no way to get really better. You just earn xp and more guns and attachments (that's the Hamsterwheel that can get you into wasting time very fast! How often did you realize: NOT PLAYING FOR FUN, BUT FOR MORE XP AND BAGDES?)

    Tactical approach is often missing totally and it's "everyone for themselves!"

    Weapons are a joke!
    It makes NO DIFFERENCE if you shoot with a SMG or a Heavy MG!
    What should obliterate anyone coming through the hail of bullets, often doesn't do a scratch and you wonder if you even hit!
    Just to make you understand: The LIGHT MG farts 20 DMG and the HEAVY makes the same amount of stink!
    Pathetic!

    The game is just awesome that they changed from battlefield 3 this is balistikuyu of weapons and the plot, as there he was dull, the soundtrack is cool even the atmosphere is there, and the game just wants to pereprohodit, but minus little added and bugs but considering that it was a patch in Russian, and so everything is cool I advise everyone.

    Looking at BF4 in 2019 shows the complete picture of what could have been. All the DLC were at some point free and I didn´t pay a cent and I own all of them. There is just a ton of content and on modern Hardware (GTX980, 6700K, 16GB RAM) the game in my opionion looks good and runs at a nice framerate of above 120 Hz.

As of today, in 2019, with still a few thousand active players and after DICE LA (Danger Close) seemingly saved this game from the downfall that Sweden put it In, I'm very happy to announce that even to this day, the game is content rich and very fun to play, extremely balanced and nothing feels to awful on the multiplayer end, however, the single player is an insult to Kjell (Dice employee who passed. was ex military, the BF4 campaign had a song made for him). The story campaign wise makes little to no sense, has easy terminology such as "sailor, or "marine" mixed up on characters that are not those things, clearly has no clue how US Military works at all, cutscenes that are broken, sequences that fail to trigger and cause massive anger as these bugs are game breaking like when trying to kill the Helo in the first mission, many times it wont die, how BF3 story is more polished than this is beyond me, the campaign, though its acting was amazing, just felt lazy, example, when you leave china and are on the pontoon and irish is yelling for people to follow him, he tends to yell toward the front of the boat, implying people are there too, yet if you look, there's no ships or people there, like what the **** are you yelling at? it just feels out of place. The war they are in makes no sense, also how Chinese managed to take out a whole US fleet and none of these ships seemingly had any of there tech working or had any sort of comms because apparently EMP knocks out everything for 50km out to sea causing a fleet of 20 ships to go down to one, because it makes sense that top of the line military hardware including AA cant shoot down **** helo's or apparently nobody mans their stations... Even worse is the ending, DICE clearly has no clue how C4 works, also WHY THE HELL DID SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE WHEN THEY LEFT A RHIB BOAT RIGHT NEXT TO THEM WHERE THE C4 CHARGE WAS SUPPOSED TO SIT, LIKE DID DICE FORGET HOW THE "MARINES" ENDED UP GRAPPLED TO A BRIDGE??? NOBODY HAD TO DIE, ALSO C4 WOULD NOT KILL YOU IF YOU JUST ****ING SWAM LOW, ALSO SINCE WHEN DID C4 JUST BLOW UP DESTROYERS?? Like jesus they put zero effort into this story at all. Its absolutely repulsive, which makes you wonder, they spent so much money on the story yet its this awful, I mean **** they had RYAN REYNOLDS AS YOUR CHARACTER ON THE BOX, USED HIM AS THE CHARACTER MODEL FOR RECKER, HAD ALL THESE HOLLYWOOD NAMES, YET THE STORY WAS THAT BAD. Да она о**енная, но слишком короткая, НУ СЛИИИШКОМ, я понимаю что основа игры это онлайн, но как же обидно что такая замечательная сюжетка так быстро кончается. Персонажи харизматичные, но в конце я плакал не из-за печальной концовки, А ИЗ-ЗА ТОГО ЧТО ИГРА ТАК БЫСТРО КОНЧИЛАСЬ, не ну Ханну (В моем случае) конечно жалко, но то что игра закончилась это еще грустнее... 22.11.2018… Expand

I bought this game to play multiplayer so my score reflects my satisfaction in multiplayer only.

I bought this game to play multiplayer so my score reflects my satisfaction in multiplayer only.

    Multiplayer Battlefield 4: is simply frustrating... I loved BF: Bad Company 2.
    -My biggest complaint exists with the vehicles. The vehicles are far too maneuverable. They can turn on a dime and attack any position. The vehicles make little to no sound so the player cannot tell they are even nearby or even directly behind the player. They can move forward and in reverse at full speed almost instantaneously. The cannons and guns also have no reduced speed to aim unlike in previous BF installments. This make it almost impossible to hide from a tank, the drivers can round a corner faster than a player on foot can run. And finally, THE TANKS and Helicopters MAKE LITTLE TO NO SOUND!! I cannot count the number of times a tank sneaks up behind my soldier while I'm running and not under gun fire. I can actually hear footsteps from other enemies on foot better then the vehicles. This needs to be fixed, how has this been overlooked? Stealth tanks.. yeah that makes sense. =/ It is telling that the developers do not even play this game. It is ****

    -Latency issues / rubberbanding on servers where I 'supposedly' have a 20-40 ping.

    -While searching through servers in lobby, many of the servers show there are 40+ players in game when there are not any in reality.

    -The BF4 takes far to long to start unlocking the weapons and gear for each weapon must be unlocked separately. This takes forever. It ruins the balance of the game, especially considering these weapons and gear do provide a significant advantage of beginning equipment (stability, accuracy, recoil, spread for guns and longevity or speed when being attacked both in vehicles and on foot)
    -The maps are gorgeous! however, they are not designed well from the perspective of being fun. A player is almost forced to camp and there are ~4 entrances to every building or roof. There is absolutely nowhere one can take a shot at an opponent that does not leave them exposed to retaliation fire.
    -There is TOO much clutter to get stuck on in several maps.    … Expand

    Firstly there was a surprise, at the the end the disapointment. Game looks like a DLC for BF3, at first look almost nothing has changed. Multiplayer is great but after a few hours a little bit more stereotypical than BF3. For me BF3 was better, it was something new in a serie with a beautiful visual and free gameplay, this seems like a poor cousin of BF3 and I don't now exactly why, maybeFirstly there was a surprise, at the the end the disapointment. In fact I am more into singleplayer than MP, so i was looking forward to play these, because SP in BF3 was quite good in my opinion, but this time it was only MEH ... if you want a good modern combat FPS with tanks, aircrafts and things like this keep playing BF3.

    + Huge arsenal
    +/- MP is really good, but BF3 is better
    - dissapointment in SP and a few decisions at the end of the game can not improve it
    - nothing has really changed
    - no inovations
    - total stupid AI in SP (for me the most retarded AI after Homefront)

    P.S. Don't buy it if you only want to play SP, better buy ArmA 3, Modern Warfare remastered if you want modern combat FPS.    … Expand

    The game is riddled with players who are using cheat mods to gain a significant advantage, much like all games in the Battlefield series. Save your money and play something else, unless cheating is your thing too.

    After several years, I changed my mind. At the moment, Battle is the best part of the franchise. See for yourself. You can be a commander and help your brothers in arms. HUGE selection of weapons and customization.

Pleased with the freedom, more cinematic, at least some companions (more or less with the character), the mission on the tank, shooting, pumping, collecting tokens. Overall nicer and more fun than a three-pointer.
    At the expense of multiplayer, in short: a lot of excess, almost everywhere, a lot of body kits that are duplicated or half is not used, but it's nice to open them, to get experience for them, to open the next case, to include the increase of experience, which just endlessly fall, although up to 100 rank, you can pump very quickly, do not compare Can't tell you where the best shooting, but a 4 if you compare the trunks of the 3, it seems that as it is easier without recoil, and generally if everything is too simplified, even with the machine gun, you don't need to broadcast the arm which significantly helped in 3, here is something else all.

    Сначала о сюжетной компании: самые худшие "напарники" за всю историю шутеров, такого бреда я еще не видел нигде, если бы не пометил врагов и тем самым не отдал приказ (прожимать кнопку Q на протяжении всей игры), то эти идиоты будут просто сидеть и смотреть, даже если враг прямо перед ними, система будет игнорировать их, будто их и не существует, вот такие дела. Порадовала свобода, больше киношности, хоть какие нибудь напарники (более менее с характером), миссия на танке, стрельба, прокачка, сбор жетонов. В целом приятней и веселей чем трешка.
    На счет мультиплеера, если коротко: то много лишнего, практически во всем, много обвесов, которые дублируются или половина вообще не используется, да их приятно открывать, получать за них опыт, открывать очередной кейс, включать повышения опыта, которые просто без конца валятся, хотя до 100 ранга, можно прокачаться очень быстро, не сравнить с 3 частью. Не могу сказать где лучше стрельба, но вот в 4 если сравнивать стволы из 3, то кажется что как то легче, без отдачи, и вообще будто все слишком упростили, даже с пулемета, не нужно вещать рукоятку которая, ощутимо помогала в 3, здесь как то иначе все.    … Expand

    Child game, un-enjoyable, unbalanced, bad netcode, AR/carbine weapons = nailguns accuracy, hit dectection is so weird. If you play alone you will sooner or later have enough of this game, because it gets annoying. it is enjoyable enough with friends, but without, you will have a hard time with the whole essence. Anyway I am level 109, so I have more than enough game time.

    The singleplayer campaign is atrocious because the story is irredeemably stupid. The story goes like this; you are Recker, a silent protagonist tool whose job is to go through the cliche-filled motions. Your team consists of a token white guy, a token black guy with a messiah complex and trust issues, and a token Asian person who also happens to be the token female character in your team. No surprise there given this game was made mostly by a Swedish studio (DICE). All throughout the game, you have to suffer through their poorly written drama and stupidity. They are supposed to make you feel badass, like "Good shot Recker!", "Nice shot Recker!" and etc. You get the picture. But sadly, you are also everybody's b1tch on so many occassions; "Open the door Recker!", "Plant the charges Recker!", "Lead the way Recker!" and "Jump Recker!". You are the leader of the group but they always order you around. Your "companions" are also fake holograms as they do 99% less damage to enemies. I've seen them move next to an enemy, empty several magazines at the enemy soldier's face and it's like nothing bad happened to enemy soldier. They are just there for window dressing and you should think of playing the campaign as if you didn't have AI companions. It's just a joke and it makes the experience feel completely fake. There is even a scene where you have to jump off a plane and your companions go first. If you let your companions jump ahead and wait ten minutes inside the fast-moving plane, and you jump, they will appear like they just jumped 2 seconds before you and it's as if the plane didn't move one inch. Very immersion breaking. I guess this is Michael Bay's fetish lens-flare explosion-filled game and bullets must be made of flint as they cause so much sparks when striking objects.

    The multiplayer is very good and is a fun riot but it is full of lootboxes, with many gun accessories and other things hidden behind lootboxes. It's not enough that you buy the many DLC packs to unlock them through gameplay, you still have to buy the lootboxes separately in the hopes of getting the upgrade that you want for the weapon that you want. No amount of gameplay will get you any of the lootbox rare items. I am against the practice of asking for so much money for all this content, putting most items behind a very long grind and topping that off with so many items you can only buy through lootboxes and a fukkton of luck. Battlefield 4 is a great game behind money-gouging and unacceptable business practices.

    Multiplayer is where Battlefield 4 shines. It's a good game especially if like me, you bought the Premium edition for $25 on an origin sale. But combined with the DRM and poor business practices and unpolished state during release, I can't give it too high a mark. Just buy it for the enjoyable multiplayer combat and buy it on a sale. For $25, you'll get your money's worth.    … Expand

    DICE, you are the best that did not remove support for x32 systems and left DirectX 10.1. I love this battles, the graphics are not bad, the physics is at the level, the optimization has not failed, the multiplayer is dynamic.

    This is a great game, and when i say a great game, i mean that it is one of the best online shooters i've played. You have to buy it, i have more than 180 hours in this game, 110 of which are without the seasson pack. Please, do yourself a favour and buy it for the love of god.

I've never had a game that felt so alpha-build. the campaign is utterly atrocious, several times bugging out in such a way that required a full restart of the mission. this happening again on the Singapore mission which was shortly after the most annoying section up to that point, above and beyond being unable to swim through the Titan in the South China Sea mission,absolute garbage.     i'm glad I'm playing this game now, and not when it was released. it was probably even more of a **** and having this in the light of the recent controversies with Visceral Games shutting down, Mass Effect: Andromeda being an utter mess with support being removed almost immediately after launch, and the Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) debacle, it seems like EA has been on a long-standing decline, and I hope things like this sink the company and their employees go on to find better jobs in less horribly managed development teams. it REALLY wouldn't have taken much to have a single person play through the finished game to find these bugs. a disappointment and a farce.    … Expand

    -runs terribly
    -enemies spot you and somehow has the power to alert all other enemies in less than a second

Hardware changes, OS changes, driver revisions, from 2015 when i got the game till 2017 i have never had a single good time    There comes a time where a game is just incapable and is not tested enough to be viable for a release yet, we call those incomplete games usually.

    However Battlefield 4 takes it a lot further, i don't understand how anyone can claim this game works for them? Hardware changes, OS changes, driver revisions, from 2015 when i got the game till 2017 i have never had a single good time playing the game because it just will not remain stable and run on any hardware i throw at it, the typical GPU hung or device removed issue happens on both Nvidia and AMD GPU's, played it with a GTX 580, GTX 670, and now an R9 Fury, no difference, the only thing that changed was the ability to run the game at a high graphical preset and that is it... The game is a complete shambles.

    Says a lot when Battlefront II a game in Open Beta as i write this is far more stable than a AAA game that was patched within an inch of it's life.

    Good game but really just a RIPOFF of BF3 YET Battlefield 1942 was Really a first of its kind. Mixing FPS and Full on battlefield scaled warfare. I mean anything from medic sniper assault etc to jeeps, tanks, artillery, to airplanes, helicopters, bomber, to aircraft carrier, submarines, battleships and the list goes on and on.     i mean, its enjoyable with friends, but as for playing alone, even when this game costs 5 dollars i prefer spending those 5 dollars on gums. alone its just un-enjoyable, the servers are **** multiplayer always feels unbalanced, like for real just dont buy this game.

In a game no, there is nothing new, it is just slightly improved BF3, under improved I mean only graphics, a sound and Levolution. For the rest only regress. The equipment is simplified to simplicity. Cards on start in general were awful. The ballistics became worse, closer to COD.     Multiple Crashes, GOD AWFUL anti-cheat system that kicks players for no reason, multiple hackers, thanks and **** you EA. Dont buy this **** on PC.

    Multiplayer is awesome :c I dont understand why players hate this game! Maybe singleplayers is weak but battlefield 4 is not singleplayer but multiplayer game.

    Battlefield 4 could just as well be called Battlefield 3.5. The new Battlefield features are only marginal improvements over Battlefield 3, but even as such it leaves the competitors way behind. Hopefully the bugs will be squashed soon. [Nov 2013]

    Even if multiplayer wasn't buggy, Battlefield 4 would still only be a barely passable installment in all respects besides the snazzy graphics. EA and DICE played it safe by providing the same thing they did the last time around, with another phoned-in campaign and only minor alterations to the online.

    Battlefield 4 keeps soldiering on in the same footsteps as previous games in the series. The lack of worthwhile news makes you wish for more. Dice stays in its comfort zone calls for explosions and not much more. The series needs to evolve or fade out.
