    Again, we can see a lot of bias coming from critics. How is it that the fans give it an average score of 6, but reviewers like IGN and Machinima give it an 8 or 9? Well, the answer is money, that's the bottom line. Machinima stands to make a great deal of money on sponsored youtube channels that show BF4 gameplay (notice BF4 doesn't have nearly the amount of content creators as BF3...whyAgain, we can see a lot of bias coming from critics.     EA DICE buys millions in adspace from IGN, so it's no surprise their review is entirely irrelevant and biased.

    So, here's a completely unbiased review from an actual Battlefield fan - one who has owned every single iteration of the franchise to-date:

    The is probably the worst launch of a AAA title I have ever seen. It is entirely unconscionable that the game was shipped in such a broken state. The bugs range from unusual to game-breaking, and you don't have to look very far at all to find them. While BF3 felt rushed with its short development schedule, huge list of features that were never fully realized - not to mention promises that were never delivered, it is nothing compared to the state of BF4.

    Several developers have anonymously stated that although they knew the game had not passed QA (what we used to call bugtesting), they went ahead and shipped the game anyway.

    Whatever happened to finishing a project before you sold it. EA / DICE has gone over the line with this game, they've sold half a product with a promise to fix the rest later. A promise only delivered after a huge backlash against their broken game. I have since abandoned it, and I would caution anyone who values their money to avoid this title. Premium is a joke, as the DLC maps are - unsurprisingly - unfinished. Jets that can't take off on the runways, areas of the maps where models do not clip properly, MAJOR netcode issues, major vehicle unbalances...the list goes on and on.

    Also, as has been mentioned elsewhere, the developers have added in RUSH only as an afterthought. The maps are so poorly balanced as to make some of these maps unplayable. It's clear that whoever is in charge at EA/DICE is just directing the team to create as much content as possible, spend no time proofreading their code or testing it, and pushing these broken, half-products to market as quickly as possible.

    Like I said, I have owned every other game in the series prior to this point, and I am MASSIVELY disappointed. So much so that I have abandoned my favourite series, fool me once, shame on you, I won't be around to see how much worse the next Battlefield is.    … Expand

    This game is just a cheap copy of BF3. Everything they changed got worse. BF3 had great maps for all types of game modes but the BF4 maps are really bad and you can only play conquest. It's impossible to play rush in BF4. The unlocking system is really bad in BF4. Engineer became a terrible class, especially because the first weapon is just awful. Graphics improved slightly but the hardware requirements got a lot higher too. If your PC can run BF3 without any problems you shouldn't think it can run BF4 too. The netcode got even worse than in BF3. You have to play the sp to unlock some of the weapons, which wouldn't be so bad if the developers could program properly. Sometimes the story just doesn't continue and you have to restart the game, sometimes you fall through the ground. It's programmed so badly it's even a pain to start the game because it keeps crashing. I blame EA because they wanted to release to game so early to make some more money.… Expand

    I don't even know where to start.. seriously i wonder how they can say its a improved version of the frostbite engine, i run it on ultra settings and it feels like playing farcry 3 with more cartoonish looking soldiers/vehicles than in battlefield 3. Also when you sprint it feels like you skate across the ground compared to battlefield 3 where you actually felt like you were running.     WHEN it doesn't crash frequently, it can actually be fun to play. But to think that companies think its ok to release games in this state on PC when most wouldn't dare to release the same on consoles, its quite sad. Thankfully, my refund is already being processed.

    Playing this game is a pain. You understand what it meant to be, but you see how bad it is done. Some parts of the game amaze me (sounds, visual effects). But this is not a movie. This is a game where you have to control, move, shoot. All those things that you actually cannot do in this game simply because it crashes every important moment. Even single player crashes to me.     I do not talk about multiplayer. It doesn't exist yet. Netcode was written in late 90s. Still remains unchanged. Since game launch developers did not care about anything. They appeared only once, when ALL servers were crashing every 5 minutes.

    Want to play good game? Look elsewehere. Want to play multiplayer? Look elsewhere. Want to spend all evening raging because game doesn't work? That's your game! Buy it now!

    BF4 would be an great FPS if they would just have taken the time and complete the game before release. Like it is now 1 of 2 matches end in a crash and when that happen the sound stops working and the speakers need to be deactivated and activated again in soundsettings for the sound to work again.

    After wading through the mess that is the Origin market and launching the game from my web browser (wtf?) I got a whopping 7fps. My machine meets all the recommended specs aside from Win 7 instead of 8. The opening cinematic ran fine but the game was completely unplayable. I changed the graphic settings from Auto (High) down to Low and saw no change.     Best broken game I've ever played. After having it for a week and enjoying the large maps I now try playing multiplayer, get to the screen, pick my spawn point, spawn and stare at a frozen screen. I've done all the troubleshooting EA has posted. Just like I had to do for BF3. Someone name another company that puts out a broken product over and over!?! This is ridiculous and I'm sure theBest broken game I've ever played.     Broken and buggy is Battlefield 4,Crash after crash, missing sound/textures, terrible hit reg,awful blur effect(added last patch?)grass physics removed last patch?... the list goes on and on.

    Game is super disappointing and frustrating to play due to loss of progress because of the constant crashing.

    I have given up playing until they release a miracle patch that can fix this abomination.

    Broken game, updates are useless. Online is garbage. Just another call of duty with vehicles. Spawn points are just as bad. The actual player base is useless like a bunch of monkeys, with no brain.
    Graphics are nice, just wish this game wasn't ruined with the new features that absolutely ruined HC.
    Fix your game before release. This game is worse than any alpha release on any game I have played.

    After 3 days of game play all that has happened was; me getting completely bored and having to force myself to finish the 7 level campaign that has no story, getting frozen out of the multiplayer servers 50% of the games and losing xp every single time.     Getting spawned on and being killed every 20 seconds in most types of games. But the biggest disappointment is that 80% of the unlocks for multiplayer come from the battlecrates which you either have to pay for, or slowly play on premium(40$) to receive one a week, meaning I cant even use half of the things in the DAMN GAME I JUST BOUGHT.    … Expand

    Very good game. Single player is pretty weak, but the multiplayer can be good if you got a decent team. Another problem is that you cannot play with AI team mates, or add AI team mates when match is not full. This game got really a lot of content and very good graphics. The main problem is large portion of glitches that breaks thi game and again stupid unlock system. I got feeling thatVery good game.     The gameplay itself is very well designed. But the coding is atrocious. I have had non-stop crashes and stutter running on a computer with an i7 processor and a GTX 760 graphics, and a download speed of 70 megabits.

    It's unbelievable that such an expensive and expansive game would be programmed so poorly.

    Bugs bugs bugs the game needs a whole lot of work. There are so many problems it is not funny from freezing and crashing to stuttering I cant believe they released it like this it is a major disappointment

Foreign players lagging up local servers because the netcode gives 200 ping players the edge over players with 15 ping. I have only seen this type of half a$$ed attempt at netcode in BF3. Trying to lead the enemy is a crap shoot as you never know exactly where their hitboxes are. They added all kinds of overpowered weapons for players that suck. Multiple grenade launchers, XM-25 Airburst, remote mortars, SUAV, UCAV all kinds of pure vaginal things that take away from the FPS experience. We have also digressed back to over 50% players playing sniper in every game, hiding, trying to pick people off because they cant compete any other way. I would not buy this game again, and I would not recommend it to a friend.… Expand

    This game was a huge dissapointment to me, the maps are horrid, the controls are over responsive as your aim flies all over the place when you ADS.     The spawns are horrid even in a game mode like rush where you would think it would take no effort to spawn you away from your enimies, if you think that then youre WRONG.

    And as for the maps, these maps are the worst pile of dog splooge ive ever come across, this one map wich i already forgot the name of is so bad i had to give it a -5/10, you spawn as attackers in a big open field, and as for the defender they get some of the best clipping spots in shooter game history, as you just as an attacker are destined to die over and over untill you run out of tickets.

    So all in all this is probably one of the worst shooters ive played within the last 3 years MW 3 being the other one     … Expand

    Don't release a game that's heavily dependent on it's online aspects when it's clearly not ready.

    It still has much work to be done on it so I don't think i'll advise anyone into actually buying it any time soon either.

I haven't played any since and there was a half off offer on the game so I figured what the hell, lets give it a try.     Fast forward several months. I figure today is the day I'll give the multiplayer a shot. After hearing all sorts of issues with the BF4 launch, I hoped by now they could have sorted out the kinks. First of all, to play the game you have to download a huge patch. Then you try and launch the game, but that doesnt work because you have download another stupid patch for the browser. Whoever thought that gamers want to use internet explorer to play your game should be fired. Anyway, I get the browser plugin working and now I'm trying to launch a game - any game. Just to see if this is worth a second more of my time. No you can't launch that game, you need to buy an expansion pack. Oh great - click another server same sh*t.

    Keep clicking on servers until I find one that doesn't ask me to buy another expansion pack. 30 seconds later the game launches and I click the spawn button. Three seconds later I'm kicked to desktop with a friendly message: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe. Rinse and repeat this 3 more times. Now lets try googling around to see if there are any answers on how to fix this problem, people are suggesting to disable windows firewall. Ok lets give that a go - oh that didn't work either. Lets try downloading punkbuster directly - why in gods name am I having to download this myself is beyond comprehension for a multimillion dollar blockbuster title like BF4.

    Now to recap, this is a game with crap single player (can't say I was surprised), and multiplayer that doesn't even work. So not only was this a ripoff at half off - but at any price.    … Expand

Not only is the game full of bugs, not only does it crash CONSTANTLY, it just isn't interesting anymore! Take graphics out of the equation, by far the best in this series has been Battlefield 2. Everything that has come after that has been absolute rubbish.

    EA & Dice have been taking us for a ride for far too long. I'm kinda glad I only paid $32.00 for this game, as anything more would just be an insult and highway robbery.    … Expand

Lots of bugs and glitches that finally have been (many but not all) fixed with the latest patch.     Fun game. But this game should not even be released yet. To many bugs, glitches and connection problems. Of all the servers you can probally only join about half and on some of those you lose connection without any reason. Don't buy this game until the glitches and bugs are fixed.

    Can't even launch it. $30 gone. Nothing more to say. And good old EA wont gimme my cash back. Time to cry and go back to playing DayZ. I run DayZ on very high, cant even get into a server with BF4

    This game is now 2 years old, and it is still littered with game breaking bugs. I am still unable to finish the campaign due to a game breaking glitch that prevents progression. But of course, no one plays Battlefield for the campaign, but fear not, there is a vast selection of bugs and glitches in the multiplayer as well 2 years later!

    The game can't even install its own cheat    This game is now 2 years old, and it is still littered with game breaking bugs. I am still unable to finish the campaign due to a game breaking glitch that prevents progression. But of course, no one plays Battlefield for the campaign, but fear not, there is a vast selection of bugs and glitches in the multiplayer as well 2 years later!

    The game can't even install its own cheat prevention properly, prompting me to reinstall punkbuster (manually) seemingly any time I try come back to the game, trying to get someone to show up on your friends list can take anywhere between 30 seconds to... Never. And most recently, the audio cut out in the middle of a game.
    As if that's not bad enough, when BF4 killed its own audio, it also killed the audio for my entire PC, forcing me to reboot to get my sound back.

    I would not recommend this trash to anyone, and would STRONGLY recommend avoiding all future games developed by DICE. It's a shame that they got their hands on Battlefront, I would have been greatly looking forward to playing it if it was being developed by anyone BUT DICE.    … Expand

    After buying the game it took 2 solid days to finally fix EA account problems that EA themselves cause. After that I played a great online experience and an epic campaign. However it then froze and acted as though I had quit the game all together. Upon rebooting, I was angered to see that everything had been reset.     Says a lot when Battlefront II a game in Open Beta as i write this is far more stable than a AAA game that was patched within an inch of it's life.

The Frosbite 3 graphics don't impress me and would rather have the graphics from BF3, even with the blue tint. The guns sound the same with the exception of the rate of fire. If u could play it, if it would let u play it, or if the game was even worth playing at all. £40 for an expansion, BF3.5 that's what you get, and a half assed one at that.

Lots of bugs...one hit kills (or bad netcode makes it fee like you were hit once when the other player feels like he shot you 20 times), crashes, audio bugs,Very frustrating and inconsistent player experience. Two of the jets can barely out maneuver the ground attack jets, and the third (the SU-50) can out turn all other aircraft at almost a 2:1 rate.

    The ground attack jets are overpowered. They kill the stealth jets (supposedly their counter) in less than 1 second. The only exception is the SU-50 which can literally fly circles around you. Their main cannon is so deadly against ground vehicles that it is pointless to even swap to a secondary. In fact the only excuse to use rocket pods is to kill infantry. Ground based counters are ineffective against attack jets just like BF3, jets (attack or SU-50) are the only vehicle that can kill an ace jet. Even with longer countermeasure cool downs you can still just retreat to your (fully automated computer controlled) stationary AA and it will kill anything (even a TV missile) on your tail.

    Little bird helicopters with 2 engineers repairing are nigh indestructible. Granted, you will spend most of yo r time disabled due to lockon spam, so getting kills can be challenging. But yo. Basically can only be killed by the MAA, a jet ram, or a dumbfire infantry weapon. Even fighting another littlebirdis more often a stalemate than not.

    Don't even bother getting in an attack helicopter. With every missile hit causing you to lose lift and rudder control, combined with the fact that missiles have a knock-over effect, even a single hit (that still ignores flares from time to time) usually results in a crash and death.

    With air vehicles so crippled, ground vehicles basically run amok. The mobile Anti aircraft vehicle is more often either lobbing missiles that have unlimited range across the map from their base (effectively), or roaming the field with AA dumbfire rockets that decimate infantry in droves. Tanks are not OP, but unkillable basically because their counter (the attack helicopter) is so gimped that it either has to camp on the deployment doing nothing, or go down in seconds as it's used as transport t a flag.

    Basically, battlefield has become the new call of duty. The same regurgitated garbage in a flashy new bugged package with weapon systems so dumbed down that your dog could probably effectively use them.

    Skill is not welcome in this game. Rip good first person shooters.    … Expand

We just want a simple UI system so we can see the next map, and adjust our classes accordingly. Not have to click on some slow-loading screen to see the map, then ALT-Tab to adjust our class on battlelog. And refresh the page to make sure the changes actually will work.

    The crashes. Oh the crashes. After their LATEST patch, I had two crashes back to back games. I won't say anymore to that, you probably have read enough about it.

    A much needed positive to this game is that the longer you play, the better you will do. You have to acclimate to the game type and learn the best weapons, classes and perks to move about the map. I have been playing mostly domination recently, and after 8 hours of grinding the maps out, I'm starting to get consistently great games. I know how to approach the flags and how to use the spawns to my advantage. So in conclusion to this, practice makes perfect. There is a good size skill gap in this game.

    Overall, I give this a 4 just due to the fact nothing has really changed,, and what has changed is mostly negative. (incredibly bizarre hit detection, crashing, etc. As a BF 1942 veteran, I'd rate this as my 5th favorite battlefield. If you are new to the franchise, I'd recommend it and tell you to stick with it, and your game will improve. If you are on a budget and don't have 100+ dollars to dump in a game, I wouldn't justify it.    … Expand

    The season pass costs £40 in Britain, and adds everything that should have been in the game at launch. How they can make 2 DLC's within 45 days is beyond me. They couldn't have cut it out of the disk, could they?

    Basically put, Battlefield 4 is a game that would have been amazing if it was released in April or May, but EA had to have it out before Christmas.     Multiplayer;
    I would say Battlefield 3.5, but they've somehow copied BF3 and taken it 2 steps backwards.

    Damage balancing is all out of order,

    Recons are able to Rambo it up and one-hit-kill players at close quarters while most other classes are not so lucky.

    Engineers serve no anti tank/anti air purpose anymore, with their launchers doing minimal damage and having to expend all their rocket ammo to down just one vehicle. With how they have the submachine gun they're only use is to "run and gun". They might as well be called the "pandering to the call of duty audience class"

    Supports are only useful for the ammo now. Their hopes of suppression, let alone killing, isn't very high because they're damage is akin to nerf guns. I have been a support and had a gun run at me, sponge the weapon and shoot me dead and I've been able to do the exact same to others.

    Assault/medic classes are generally pretty balanced actually, but damage inconsistency can really mess your experience up as you'll find one moment you can kill a fully healed enemy in 2 shots and the next it takes 8 or 9 bullets to put a guy down.

    Maps are completely unbalanced, you only have two options. Completely bottle necked with grenade and explosive spam or Completely open with no cover, there is only one map that breaks this trend and it can get old fast.

    I thought BF3 was pretty mediocre and hoped they could bring it back to awesomeness, but this was the killing blow.
    It's become nothing more than EA forcing DICE to copy paste the previous game in a rush to shove out yearly titles.

    Tried this again now 7 months after release and it's still a buggy mess. I get frequent culling of sounds that then suddenly pop up when the kill cam displays(such as helicopters coming in behind me). Kill cam seems to display the wrong character many times(or else there is something really weird going on).

    Server availability is now outrageously poor unless you have DLCs.

    Only good thing is that its new, you get good graphics, and have cool weapons. But the entire structure of the game is completely rushed, retarded, and inferior to games that are 6+ years older than it.

    Overall you are better of buying battlefield bad company 2. It works, you can modify loadouts, and unlock everything without having to pay for "premium" content. As well as do simple things like adjust volume levels.    … Expand

They get money for their score? Look at the user score and critic score, something is wrong here, I belive in users like me, because most of us are real, and we give score base on facts and actual situation.

    With milions of and few year in building progres they deliver THIS!? What is new here? This games become like sports game, the same game, just diffrent year on the cover, and you pay full price. People are not stupid, they will not buy unfinish crap all the time.

    The gaming industry has become too greedy and they dont see the full picture, they have money in their eyes, not gamers, and that is sad. This is not the first game that need first day patch, and that make me sad.     Killcams itself up all the time. Campaign is short, and has a damn ending. AI is better than in BF3 but still not that good.
    I also find the maps in bf3 way better. TDM and SQDM is completly in bf4. The graphics are much better which i like quite alot. They say that there is LOTS of more destruction in the game, but it doesnt feel like it. Maby the destructiion doesnt really have the same impact on the game as it did before.
    The levelation works fine, nothing special really. The best Thought that the diving would be cool, but sadly you cant swim downwards, its like going prone, you swim just under the watersurface.
    The biggest problem about the game which i don't see any way to fix. Is the similarity between bf3 and bf4. It feels like the same game. You'll get bored quite fast of it.
    This is just a portion of the negative things i could say about it. But im not going 2 waste more of my time here.

    The servers are absolute garbage, with lag all over the place (even with my 54 ms connection). People will dash across your screen and gun your ass down without even looking at you. Other times, you'll have the drop on them, pump 12 bullets into their chest, and still get killed with two bullets... from the guy who had to turn around to kill you. Bravo Dice. The disparity between weapons is mind boggling, with pistols (that use higher caliber rounds) doing barely any damage compared to assault rifles. The map are set up in a way that allows for spawn camping and vehicle camping, ensuring that your mismatched teams will produce one sided battles. As stated, the matchmaking is a joke and you'll be paired with idiots 99% of the time while fighting against clans or players who play together. Real balance right there folks.

    Performance wise, the game is a mess. On my 3rd gen i5 HP with 6 gigs of ram, the game takes TWO whole goddamn minutes to load a map. Two whole minutes of watching a screen load while everyone else is having fun. And if you are really lucky (like me), you'll get singled out for PunkBuster's inability to properly configure its damn self 5 seconds into the match, requiring you to mess around with Firewall settings to get the program to function PROPERLY. Something the damn thing should be able to do on ITS OWN. The game is poorly optimized and its anti-cheating software can't even install itself properly.

    I got the game solely for multi-player, based on the Xbox 360 gaming I did with BF4. But goddamn is this a mess.Weapon balance issues, repair exploits for helicopters, and other issues marr the experience. Good grief, stay away from this hunk of garbage until they fix it.    … Expand

    Ill be honest, at first i thought this was great, but the more i play the worse i realize it is, the attack helis are still blatantly op with a half decent pilot and gunner, being able to destroy just about anything with relative ease, spawns are terrible in some game modes, the netcode is straight up broken as are the servers. a decent game but too much is wrong with it for a decent review.

    The game is ok until you start getting Instant crashes. PC reboots, the game is buggy as hell. The single player is boring and forgettable, I finished the game few weeks ago and I don't even remember what I played. This game is very forgettable.

    I haven't touched SP as that isn't why I buy BF games but from experience in multiplayer, let me tell you... It is littered with bugs, game breaking bugs. My first few days prior to launch consisted of the worst rubber banding I've ever experienced in any video game, it was so terrible in all play count servers that I never even noticed any of the other bugs the game has.

    Though a week after launch the rubber banding issue is fixed (For myself at least, not everyone it seems) but now I get to experience wait times almost as long as play times because of constant client crashes that rarely see me end a game without a crash, my battlelog stats tell me I have a 55% leave rate so basically I leave at least once per round if not more, it even crashes when loading up sometimes.

    Releasing a game in this state is inexcusable, it doesn't matter what you say, a game as broken as this doesn't deserve to even be released yet and it's freaking amazing that they managed to put a game on sale that is even buggier than it's beta state!

    TL;DR: Don't bloody buy this broken buggy piece of ass, hell even when it is fixed (Or should I say, if?) don't even buy it, they've pulled the same as BF3 and I'm sick of big companies getting away with it while the kids sit back and say "Hey man, you should expect bugs for such a large game"    … Expand

Every 20/30 min it just crashes with no reason and it's going on since the RELEASE! It's been WEEKS! I hope in a better future agencies like Antitrust will do something about EA and such because this is SELLING AN UNFINISHED, CRASHING PRODUCT! Totally disgusted!

    Well, I bought BF4 2 days ago, and I can say that, the game crashed about 20 times, its being unplayable Dice and EA Games don't show up to solve all those issues, my advice Don't Buy this game till they fully solve the crashes, and glitches.

The REAL problem is the NETCODE, which we don't know if it will be fixed (you can search NETCODE and BF4 in youtube to see what I'm talking about). The problems with the NETCODE are so expressive that I've chosen to ask for a refund and check the game a while from now (some months), to see if the issues are fixed...     The best bug of all being if you use a particular silencer on a particular gun and fire it kills the sound for EVERYONE on the server. How this got past testing and the beta etc I do not know

    In addition to the bug nightmare I am also not very happy how the game design treats casual gamers: it says you' to them. Through leveling you get one weapon after the other in a specific order. But I don't want to judge them for only behaviour, because this behaviour is/was common behaviour, its the way how they implemented it: You are leveling so slow that its not possible to see the light in the end of the tunnel....

    Bugs can be fixed and my critics to the game design can be fixed too. I hope they can achieve to fix at least the bugs any time soon.    … Expand

Which aside from the fact that its totally UNrealistic (how many feel the world around them weaving, undulating and bobbing when you run or walk?), makes the game even harder to play. I felt like had downed a bottle of scotch before i sat down to play.

    Leaving that aside, then there is basically nothing new in the multiplayer game. At all.

    The single player game - the campaign - is a joke. And not a good one at that. Too many (poorly) scripted events where you are sitting at the edge of the chair waiting to do a consol-like keuboard and mouse combination, which if you get it wrong forces you to waste minutes watching the same annoying cutscene again.

    At any rate then that doesnt excuse a shallow and one-dimensional story...

    SO, as far as im concerned then this was a complete waste of time and money. And in NO way able to do as it was planned: to take up the battle with the Call of Duty franchise ...    … Expand

    I was a huge fan of Bad Company and BF3, but this is like finding out you have herpes on your 21st birthday. I've never been so disappointed in a franchise than BF4. Why companies feel the need to completely muck everything up between versions is beyond me, but I guess when you make Helen Keller the lead game director you wind up with BF4. I never thought I'd veer off the path, but dare II was a huge fan of Bad Company and BF3, but this is like finding out you have herpes on your 21st birthday.     Graphics is great but bugged multiplayer makes this game unplayable. Constant disconnections from server will frustrate even biggest fan. Don't buy, waste of money.

Battlefield 4 is just Battlefield 3 with some improvements that should have been there from the start, and Battlefield 3, itself, was a shoddy game, targeting the Call of Duty crowd. The original run of Battlefield games on the PC were entirely different creatures than this new style, and this newDICE are a crap studio, and they make crap games. DICE, these days, are also terrible at map design and UI design. DICE, throughout their history, have been repeated sell-outs, evidently not actually caring one bit about the games they make. As far as I can see, it's all just looking for money with them, and their messed up priorities has caused them to make much less than they otherwise would have. Selling to EA for $5 million right before Battlefield 2's launch? Holy, holy cow. They were too inexperienced and unaccustomed to money and got way to excited at a terrible, terrible, terrible offer, and they jumped on it. Since then, I think they've been desperate to make up some of the massive revenue that they know they lost, and just keep on making highly bad decisions, one after another. They also are one of the worst companies when it comes to releasing stable products. Every release of theirs is drowning in bugs and issues. And they never care, and never improve they actually just keep getting worse. Terrible company, boring game.… Expand

    This game is a cheap rip off of te beautiful game o Call of Duty, it is trieing to be as fast paced as cod and just ends up sucking it's dick. Never buy this game, it will get boring in less then a day. WAST OF TIME AND MONEY

    The multiplayer is so riddled with bugs, and it crashes every 5 minutes. It's unplayable in its current state. The campaign is horrible and seems tacked on. It's far too easy even on the hardest setting. Would not recommend it until the bugs/crashes are fixed.

It's quite impossible to kill the oponent unless lag latency is on your side Spawn on your teammates is quite impossible if you want to avoid instant death. So it's better to spawn on a safe place (far far far away from the hot places). Then you have to run again and again and after a very long walk, you die, killed by a hidden sniper. IsBattlefield is unplayable due to lag latency. The initial release was plagued by crashes and lag, and the first bug fix introduced a random blur effect bug that is very annoying. The fact they do not care to fix it strait away is very sad.     The maps seem smaller than BFBC2 and BF3. When compared to the other games in the series, unlocking weapons in BF4 is a tedious chore for the average gamer. Unless you have an outrageous k/d ratio (higher than 2.0 at least) you can forget about unlocking any of the better weapons for a very long time.

    Helmets have been removed too from character models giving the game an unwanted "Hollywood" effect. Who goes into battle without a helmet?    … Expand

    This is the worst iteration of the battlefield series, not being able to connect reliably to any server is a big negative & warranted a refund in my case. They one week make it better then the next it is worse just to have to be patched again! MAPS: How a big game like this launched with multiple broken maps is beyond me. Maps will have levelution events that crash the game everytime, and some maps have "corrupted sound files" (that's DICE's explanation) that will leave you playing every game on that map with NO SOUND for about 85% of the game. Some maps even have big issues like spawn points not working for no apparent reason leaving you to spawn elsewhere and run 5 minutes to get back to the action. CRAZY! No one of the worst offenders is the netcode. It is so bad that people report objects exploding when the RPG that hits it is only half way their on your screen! Good luck dodging locked on rockets when the warning lockon starting sound only happens after it hits you! Want to snipe? Good luck. That new bullet smoke trail for others to see is on your screen as well for no apparent reason other then to make sure you can't see where your own bullets are going. Overcame all that and had a good match? Too bad you crashed near the end and get NOTHING. All your stats from that match are wiped, unlocks relocked, exp taken back, ect. To top all that off they will lower your "skill" level by near 30 freaking points. Tried to join a game they automatically put you in but they also filled it before connecting you? They kick you, tell you its full now, then take away skill points because you "quit". This game is so anti competitive that it amazes me. BF4 will NEVER be a competitive shooter that people care about because of netcode, and stat wiping, and just the general problems that plague it. I LOVE the Bad Company games but this will be the last EA game that I ever buy. Simscity, BF4, Rivals, ect. They keep releasing these terrible not working games and expect more and more money for them.… Expand

The server browser is still lacking in basic functionality, such as filtering out full or empty servers and frequently will not display server ping.

    I say "at the moment", but really there is no good reason the game should be unplayable for the majority of people on release. Most bugs are easily reproducible and gamebreaking. If only there'd been a beta test before release, then there wouldn't be the need for one now. Bugguness and rough edges are expected to some extent for a new release, but a product which is unplayable for many users is unbelievable.    … Expand

    EA pushes another one out too early. If you are a battlefield fan, wait until AT LEAST xmas to buy this game. As it stands, it's junk. I've gotten maybe 5 minutes of actual, satisfying gameplay out of it without crashing. Even with this new patch they just rolled out to fix the issues, and actually, it seems worse now that they did that. If you like paying retail for an alpha experience,EA pushes another one out too early. If you are a battlefield fan, wait until AT LEAST xmas to buy this game. As it stands, it's junk.     Battlefield 4 could just as well be called Battlefield 3.5. The new Battlefield features are only marginal improvements over Battlefield 3, but even as such it leaves the competitors way behind. Hopefully the bugs will be squashed soon. [Nov 2013]

    Even if multiplayer wasn't buggy, Battlefield 4 would still only be a barely passable installment in all respects besides the snazzy graphics. EA and DICE played it safe by providing the same thing they did the last time around, with another phoned-in campaign and only minor alterations to the online.

    Battlefield 4 keeps soldiering on in the same footsteps as previous games in the series. The lack of worthwhile news makes you wish for more. Dice stays in its comfort zone calls for explosions and not much more. The series needs to evolve or fade out.
