Jun 20, 2025Pacing aside, Battle Train has the opportunity to become an instant classic with its easy to learn, difficult to master gameplay. The characters, story, and the humor in general all ease the sting of defeat, but they also ensure that your victories will feel triumphant when you eventually succeed.

Jun 17, 2025Battle Train is a clever and chaotic deck-building roguelike from Terrible Posture Games that trades guns for customizable trains in a game show-inspired world. With strategic depth, quirky charm, and explosive gameplay, it's a hidden indie gem that occasionally stumbles over its own ambitious systems.

Jun 17, 2025Trains and Explosion! "Battle Tanks" combines the unlikely combination of Trains and Rogue-Likes to a sometimes grindy and hard but most of the time entertaining Genre-Mix-Up. Tchoo tchoo!

Jul 9, 2025Battle Train is a quirky, strategic roguelike that mixes explosive turn-based train combat with deck-building and a mock TV show presentation, offering addictive gameplay, clever mechanics, and lots of replayability, though some frustrating design choices around difficulty and pacing hold it back from reaching its full potential.

Jul 6, 2025Fun, ambitious, and complex—even if the core idea feels a bit overused. With so many roguelike card games out there, Battle Train manages to stand out thanks to its humor, vibrant visuals, and a difficulty curve that ramps up without warning. Meeting new NPCs and unlocking fresh cards with each run keeps the experience engaging and prevents it from feeling repetitive.

Jul 29, 2025Battle Train has a fun cast of characters, a solid story, and a lot of love put into it. The core gameplay is strong, but the lack of build variety leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully, some future updates will add some more deck themes down the line, because I would gladly return to Battle Train if they play their cards right.

Jun 18, 2025It’s a shame this one misses the mark so widely, because there’s a really strong foundation here. Maybe it would work better as a PvP game, or maybe it just needed to ease up on the story and focus on delivering more variety. The first couple of runs of Battle Train feel magical, until you realize that’s pretty much it, and the rest of the game is just a lousy version of Archer and a lot of trips down the same old tracks.
