At first glance, ATOM might play out like the "Russian Fallout" it appears to be gameplay-wise, but its many layers contain so much more than just a tribute. Fans of old-school RPGs (as well as Soviet nostalgists) will certainly enjoy every single hour (and Ruble) they spend on it.

Atom RPG is a valiant effort for a small indie team.

Overall ATOM RPG stands tall on its own feet making for a great first entry by this dev team into the world of post-apocalyptic isometric RPG survival games.

Well, the coveted Russian Fallout has finally been made. Hopefully, next time instead of Russian Fallout 2 AtomTeam will make simply Atom 2. There’re plenty of original ideas here that deserve to be developed further. [Issue#235, p.38]

For an indie-RPG, this game runs well and has a good story attached. There are several characters to choose from and many attributes to learn and adjust as you go. If you were disappointed by Fallout:76, give this one a try as it feels a lot like one would expect a Fallout game to feel, without the disappointment!

As there is no voice-over, all your interaction with the game’s story is text-based, and when the writing is as bad as it is in ATOM RPG, it becomes a chore and all enjoyment of the world is drained out of it. That’s not to say I’m going to stop playing it. As a system it is a genuinely good game, but as a world into which one sinks oneself, it’s viscous.

Very difficult RPG playing in the post-apocalyptic Soviet Union, which is strongly based on Fallout, but never reaches it qualitatively.

In its desire to stick to the original Fallout RPGs, ATOM RPG disregards the lessons CRPGs have learned in the intervening years. Fallen short of both its predecessors and contemporaries in the genre, ATOM RPG .

A bit like "Planet Alcatraz" series because of setting/humor.

Since top-down turn-based RPG currently it is an endangered species - 10/10

P.S. I hope that the creators will not leave the supporting of game and will improve new features.

But the result was unexpected, and now I can not break away from the game for 10 days! I do not want to offend Fallout fans, but I think ATOM has surpassed them, and this is not surprising, because the game was done with the soul and love of the same fans! A masterpiece! Full Review »
