This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is my opinion about Valhalla. I'm not used to send opinions about games because I have a small hope that I will be listenned. However, because I like the Ubisoft games, I gonna Try. Hope, somebody who make decisions at least heard about this.

The worst Assassin’s Creed Ever. I used to love Ubisoft historic games. I’ve played all Prince of Persia series and the majority of AC. However, I have to admit that it’s becoming worse and worse every new one.
We are already used to the bugs in the game, I’m ok with it. The problem is that you are changing important games characteristics.
First, RPG wasn’t a good idea, the game become less fluid and we have only three options: pay, reduce level or expend time in side quests and resources searches, even if we just want to enjoy the story. I suggest a new mode without levels.
Second, the main character, Eivor is perhaps the weaker, slower and boring of all. Enemies always attack him first, even on the light attack, and you have only three moviments to divide your small energy between evade and attack. I imagine a fight between him and Kenway or Arno. It become the game so boring and annoying that I almost loose my patient.
Third, health are so scarce that you die many times without any chance to react. I strongly prefer autohealing after run.
Minors problems like you several times attack in directions you don’t want, you can’t climb everywhere and your claw its not so funny. I still miss a game where you have to think to solve puzzles like Prince of Persia anyway. At least, we don’t have to spend time out animus or forced to kill templars if we don’t want.
When AC Black Flag was release I taught we are going to have bests games ever. Amazing, Ships fights, dynamic fights and character. But looks like you lost your way along the way. Sad.
Maybe I’m not the games public you wan’t perhaps. Anyway, Nowadays, that’s is how I feel it today.

Way too many bugs, whether they're visual, losing items in the inventory, or just game not working properly (for example, I could not move a crate at all, although the guy on youtube could, sometimes fixing these bugs requires a reload of a past save game, etc.) Today alone I experienced 5 game crashes in 30 minutes. Had it not have as many issues, it could've been a really good game.Way too many bugs, whether they're visual, losing items in the inventory, or just game not working properly (for example, I could not move a crate at all, although the guy on youtube could, sometimes fixing these bugs requires a reload of a past save game, etc.) Today alone I experienced 5 game crashes in 30 minutes. It is an amazing game. As every other assassins Creed game it is well written and very very beautiful. The only critcism that comes for this or for every assassins creed game are from people that does'nt like to play, want it to end fast and does'nt really has the calm and the mindset to enjoy the huge world exploration.

i would have given this a solid 9 if it wasn't for all the bugs and hard crashes. (1.0.2)
And the people giving it a 10 apperantly didnt have any of the 6000 bugs i had on PC.
Short: Best game of 2020 (before CP2077 comes out) This game is so good! I might be a little biased since im a dane but this is the best AC game since the Ezio trilogy in my opinion. A beautiful and immersive

Best game of 2020 (before CP2077 comes out) This game is so good! I might be a little biased since im a dane but this is the best AC game since the Ezio trilogy in my opinion. A beautiful and immersive world, that makes your **** very hard from pure eyegasm. Interesting stories and charcters. Big battles that makes you feel like a war machine. Many ways to make your story, your own through customization and choices.

    Long:
    Pros
-The quest system makes the world feel immersive and lived in (kudos ubi)
-The game looks absolutely stunning even with my mid-tier 2070S (and never under 70 fps)
-Big, cool, cinematic battles that is a movie worthy
    -Many customization options
    -Interesting plots and characters
-RAVENSTHORP (your settlement and everything about it)
-It is very long which i personally like, and to me, everything feels worth doing (meaning it doesnt feel like filler like in AC:O)
-The longship and raiding is just awesome
-The skill system lets you play YOUR WAY

    Cons
-Many... MANY bugs! (still no patches a week after launch. It unfortunately took away from the immersivnes of the game)
-It takes a little to long to get a decent selection of armors and weapons (BUT, it does make you happier when you finally get there)
-More animation variation considering that you kill A LOT and it does get repetetive in a 65+ hour long game (the combat system is still great though)

Petite critique d'Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

    des bugs qui gâchent l'immersion;

Finished only around 21% of the game in 16 hours. This game is massive and picturesque. Every region in the game differs from another with changes in climate, mountains, flora & fauna. The story in itself is more mature this time around and has a humanized touch lacking in earlier AC games Love this game , hoping to complete the campaign in the next few weeks!

Bugs, never did I play game that had more game breaking bugs, amongst which were frequent crashes, broken quests, whole save crumbled apart and worst one - main story broke once which was 30 hours of playtime lost.

Considering the state the game is and lack of clear engaging story puts it at 4/10.

I find it absolutely amazing how Ubisoft managed to make the viking age, probably one if the most exciting (and controversial) ages in history, BORING AS HELL.

"How do you do that?" you ask? Let me tell you: Let's start with the raids - you know, the thing where vikings pillaged hundreds of monasteries, towns and villages across England, slaughtering, raping and torturing thousands
I find it absolutely amazing how Ubisoft managed to make the viking age, probably one if the most exciting (and controversial) ages in history, BORING AS HELL.

"How do you do that?" you ask? Let me tell you:

Let's start with the raids - you know, the thing where vikings pillaged hundreds of monasteries, towns and villages across England, slaughtering, raping and torturing thousands of innocent people while stealing everything in sight. Well Ubisoft, for good reason, decided that those raids probably wouldn't sit well with too many people, and I get that. I do. I don't want to rape or torture anyone, not even in a video game, so I expected the raids to be a bit more tame. I just didn't realise how tame. Kill a civilian? DESYNCHRONIZED. Loot a monastery filled with gilded treasure? +1 CARBON INGOT. Ransack an entire village? 400+ SUPPLIES. Rinse, and repeat. New raid, same deal. After 2 raids, you've seen it all. There's nothing new to do, to get or to see. I'd rather not.

Well, how about the gameplay at least? Fun? No. Unless pressing less than three buttons gets you going, the combat in Valhalla is absolutely laughable. No challenge at all, no rewarding 'UMPH' when you wack an enemy between the eyes with your two-feet long greatsword. That goes for climbing as well. Press 'A' and move foward and watch as Eivor climbs mountain-sides as smooth as marble with ease and jumps sixty feet from the top of a building, only to land safely and unharmed. Oh wait, sometimes he limps for about three seconds berfore he can sprint again. I'm not saying that parkour should be hard, it is an AC game after all, but there is no challenge to climbing AT ALL. Back in AC2, you needed to do different combos to reach certain places, and it could be a bit tricky sometimes, but it felt REWARDING. Also, you couldn't climb **** mountains. In Valhalla, if they added a building made entirely out of giant sheets of mirrors, I bet Eivor could climb it while scratching his ass at the same time. Yawn

While Unity had its flaws, it did one thing right. Combat was hard. For an Assassin's Creed game at least. If you were outnumbered, you'd better get the hell out of there or buckle up, cause you'd be in for a hell of an ass kicking. It forced you to think like, oh I don't know, an ASSASSIN?

Okay, well, the story has been the strong point of AC, except for the last few maybe - how is it in this? I'll tell you. There isn't much. It starts of great, with a strong opening that really has you longing to get to England. Once you get there, you start recruiting allies. And then you recruit more allies. And then a few more. And a few more. Currently, I have made alliances with 4 kings and two armies - how many alliences does my podunk in the middle of nowhere need? It's not like they've taken the time to add any meaningful trading with other cities, so what's the **** point of these damn alliances?

Through all of my time playing Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, I kept thinking 'What's the point?'.

Why do I need to weaken someones army, when I can run through their entire city unscathed and open the door for my useless battering ram and the rest of my men, who for some reason cannot die? Why do I need to upgrade the village beyond the blacksmith, when all I get is an increase to a 'Feast' buff that I don't need to use? Why do I need a Jomsviking when it has no effect on my crew at all? Why do I need to change my crew when none of them are different from each other?

There's no threat, no sense of urgency to any of it. So, what's the point Ubisoft? I can live with you not making Assassin's Creed games be about assassins, but you better have a good reason for it. This game is a BORE from start to finish, and now I'm really scared, because if you managed to make vikings boring, there's no telling what you'll ruin next.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a great-looking open-world game with impressive landscapes and cinematography. However, the checklist collectible open-world still needs some work to feel truly engaging, and combat is too tedious and too frequent to be compelling. As a lapsed fan of Assassin's Creed trying to see if I can click with the series once again, Valhalla didn't quite hook me as I was hoping it would.

Assassins Creed Valhalla is a lot of fun and easy to sink dozens of hours into. It is the best entry in the more recent trilogy and genuinely elevates the gameplay mechanics. Content could be considered somewhat bloated still, but it is diverse enough and the setting and story is solid most of the way through.

Sneaking is fun, fighting is fun, walking through the great outdoors is so much fun. Sightseeing too! Valhalla is free minded and could be innovative, but lacks skills to persuade its players about that. [Issue#308]
