    AC: Valhalla doesn't exactly re-invent the formula, but i think for now it's a good thing.
    They fixed what went wrong with Odyssey and brought back missing elements while making story, characters and world better. With next one they need to do some complete overhaul, but Valhalla is good beginning for next era Assassin's Creed games.

    Ubisoft really did well with this one, been at least 3 years when i actually enjoyed their games. Odyssey was fine, but boring really fast. Valhalla feels like breath of fresh air.

    Okay, this game is really good : great open-world, multiple side-quests - it's a well made singleplayer rpg. The problem is... that it is not an Assassin's Creed game. Stealth? Forget about it. After 5 hours of grinding gear / xp you are basically too powerfull for that. You can just walk inside a "well protected" stronghold, kill everybody inside, get your loot and get out. "But what if iOkay, this game is really good : great open-world, multiple side-quests - it's a well made singleplayer rpg. The problem is... that it is not an Assassin's Creed game. Stealth? Forget about it. After 5 hours of grinding gear / xp you are basically too powerfull for that. You can just walk inside a "well protected" stronghold, kill everybody inside, get your loot and get out. "But what if i really want to go stealth?". Well, you can! But there is another problem. Parkour is non-existent. Of course, you can climb on the tower etc. but your character will just get stuck, glitch and you will be detected. Okay then, what about assassinations? If you want to assassinate anyone in this game, you have to be either on at least their level, or have a special skill, that you can unlock in a skill tree. Look , i am not saying that this game is bad, it is just not good Assassin's Creed game.… Expand

    Generally it's not nearly as bad some people pretend it to be, i have a feeling these people haven't even tried it. Watching two youtube videos doesn't count. Map is big, there's a lot stuff to do.

    Negatives: IT'S SO FULL OF BUGS. This should be a beta release at best. My character died to bugs more than enemies (hard difficulty).     Very good assassin's creed, would recommend if you liked black flag, origins or unity (or all of them).

    One of the best games i have played this year, seriously. Final Fantasy VII Remake was nice too, but this one has so much content and most of it is good.

    If someone actually thinks that AC Valhalla is not well made, that just shows absolute ignorance and lack of general knowledge about game making. Valhalla is very well made game, it just runs better on PS5 than on PS4, that obvious. But as a game, it's very good Assassin's Creed game. In fact it's one of the best open worlds Ubisoft has ever created in any of their games ever. I'm so glad it got nominated for "Best Action / Adventure Game" at "The Game Awards". That alone shows that people who are part of gaming at least understand and acknowledge that it is well made video game!

    Incredible game and i say that rarely, gonna play this for months to come. Can't wait for dlc's.

    This is game is best to be played on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X, but that should be like obvious. Highly recommending this game!

    positives - graphics, story, voice acting, open world / negatives - some bugs, some quests are boring, overall good game.

    Super well done Assassin's Creed, so far there's almost nothing i would say that i hate. I just like it more every day. Yeah some bugs, but i can't recall any open-world game that didn't have bugs at launch.

    Enjoying every almost every minute of this game. Not all quests are super interesting, but overall it's very well done.

    Its just hilarious to read these hate comments. Most real "Assassin's Creed" fans seem to like this game a lot. I bet 90% of these who gave 0 or 1, never even played it. It's just too obvious. Literally created this account to show my support to this great game. Been fan over 7 years.

    Whoever dislikes this game is not real Assassin's Creed fan. It's a fact! This game has every element that makes AC game and it's a good one at that. And if someone dislikes it because it has big map not just one city then maybe time travel back to 2010 or something, because 2020 clearly isn't for you. Every game is doing it. Maps are getting bigger. Rockstar does same thing, CdprojectWhoever dislikes this game is not real Assassin's Creed fan. It's a fact! This game has every element that makes AC game and it's a good one at that. And if someone dislikes it because it has big map not just one city then maybe time travel back to 2010 or something, because 2020 clearly isn't for you. Every game is doing it. Odyssey problem wasn't big map, Odyssey problem was too much pointless content and grinding, that's all gone in Valhalla. What's left is interesting and meaninful content and no grinding. Valhalla has two big maps and England has many cities where parkour is possible, very similar to Unity. Overall very good game. Unity was nice, but Black Flag did huge map even before Unity. Valhalla has best of both worlds. Even tho i really like Unity, it got bit boring after a while. That's why i like big maps where you can go somewhere else than city, you are not restricted in that one area.… Expand

    Combat can be very brutal at times, reminds me Unity's combat. World feels more like Black Flag, but 2020 version. Well done.

    Pretty good, here's some standout things:
    Voice acting, Graphics, World design, Story.
    Fine or Average things: Combat.
    Bad: Some bugs as expected in large open world game.

    Whole thing with "AC" games is that they have so many layers. Maybe that's why people get confused and don't know what to focus on? Idk, but to me this perfect. If i feel like going in stealth i can do that or i can just have big battles. Then there's parkour element, climbing mountains, sailing, exploring secret areas underground, etc. It has a lot content and i like it.     This idea of going back in time to different eras got me into this series in first place. Everything else comes second to me, i could endlessly free roam for hours and just check every corner, parkour on stuff. Amazing. But to everyone who wants bloody action, it's all there, always been in every AC.

    Maybe little bit early to review it, because i haven't finished main story, but i like it a lot.
    I hardly had any interest in missions in Odyssey, but Valhalla is different. Might be one of the best games i have played this year, alongside Doom Eternal.

    50 hours in, i have taken some pauses, because it can burn you out, but i keep going back to it. That must be good sign.

    So many dislikes and for what? I don't believe these people ever cared about AC.
    There's so much salt in these comments that have given 0-4 score, i don't believe they even own this game. Very often they they have only 1-2 reviews. I have also 1 review, but only reason i made this account was to point out this hypocrisy.

    I had already lost all hope and basically gave up on Ubisoft, because last year they failed completely and Odyssey wasn't best, it was okay. Far cry 5 was again...just fine. I don't even wanna talk about Ghost Recon..uhh. Anyway, somehow they managed to make good Assassin's Creed game and i'm kinda on board again. For the love of god i hope Far Cry 6 is good, because i like both of these series.

    Darker tone reminds me Unity and i love Unity, Parkour is better than last 2 games, Big open world and story remind me Black Flag and i love Black Flag. It has two maps, not one, that's first time they have done that. You can swim underwater just like in Odyssey and there' stuff to discover underwater, on land and underground. One of the better games of 2020 imo.

    Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a great-looking open-world game with impressive landscapes and cinematography. However, the checklist collectible open-world still needs some work to feel truly engaging, and combat is too tedious and too frequent to be compelling. As a lapsed fan of Assassin's Creed trying to see if I can click with the series once again, Valhalla didn't quite hook me as I was hoping it would.

    Assassins Creed Valhalla is a lot of fun and easy to sink dozens of hours into. It is the best entry in the more recent trilogy and genuinely elevates the gameplay mechanics. Content could be considered somewhat bloated still, but it is diverse enough and the setting and story is solid most of the way through.

    Sneaking is fun, fighting is fun, walking through the great outdoors is so much fun. Sightseeing too! Valhalla is free minded and could be innovative, but lacks skills to persuade its players about that. [Issue#308]
