Most Kraken myths come from Norway region and it's very obvious that Kraken was likely just very large giant squid. At least that's what i like to believe, it makes perfect sense, because they are very similar. Giant squid is very much real, so i'm not sure why all games are avoiding it, past Assassin's Creed games have had giant squid easter eggs, like in Black Flag, so why not this time? Specially when region is absolutely perfect for that. Anyway other than this, it's nice game, beautiful graphics. Expand

Already have a feeling i'm gonna play this for very long time, it reminds me mixture of AC Unity and AC 4 Black Flag. Unity because parkour and darker overall tone and Black Flag because huge open world with so much places to explore and discover. Can't wait to see what they do with Paris or Ireland.

Finally something new to play, i have explored most of England already, but there's just so much and imo it's not filler. Reminds me Unity in some parts, specially tone wise, it's darker than Odyssey. As fan of Unity is appreciate it a lot. Also parkour is back, story is fun, but my favorite part so far has been just endless exploring. Can't wait to see what they do with Paris and Ireland.

As a long time Assassin's Creed fan i'm loving this one. World is so well designed, graphically stunning (Specially on PC maxed out, not that stunning on ps4). I have both versions, so when people say that graphics aren't that good, that means they haven't seen PC or PS5 versions, because these versions look incredible.

Of course this one deserves 10/10, i'm not saying it's 10/10 game, more like 8. This one is actually solid game and haters are trying to bring it dow. If any game deserves 10/10 right now it's AC Valhalla. Without these 10/10's this score would be under 6, because there's so many absolute shtheads who just give it 0 or 1. That's pathetic.

To anyone who is new to Assassin's Creed series : There's 100s of hours gameplay footage of this game on youtube. Watch it before you buy it! If it doesn't interest you, nobody is forcing you to buy it. It's great game but clearly not for everyone. I refuse to believe that someone who watched trailers, watched gameplay, bought it and then gives it 0 or 1. It doesn't even make sense.

By the way i'm saying all this, while Rockstar is one of my favorite gaming companies, but i'm honest, unlike these losers who think it's fine to hate Ubisoft. Unlike other companies Ubisoft ALWAYS releases their games Day 1 on EVERY platform. Rockstars takes 1-2 maybe 3 years for PC version and they STILL fcked up with RDR2 PC version. Nobody shakes a head. Ubisoft releases not perfect, but perectly playable (at least with any RTX card) game and people whine and complain like it's worst thing that has ever happened. It's just insanely, insanely pathetic how these absolute losers act. I literally hate them, i'm not even hiding it. If you are Ubisoft hater, i hate you. There was this one person on youtube comparing Valhalla graphics to 2013 game and saying it looks like sht. That's complete, absolute next level lies. Ubisoft is one of the most important gaming companies ever. That's absolute fact and absolutely nothing will change that. They release multiple games every single year, every year. Then there's this group of idiots who sht on all their games, while at the same time hyping up companies that release 2 games in ten fcking years. Ten years. It's not me hating on "CDprojectred", hell no, i like them very much. My point is that without Ubisoft, gaming landscape would be incredibly empty. Imagine world without Far Cry's Assassin's Creed's, Watch Dogs, Ghost Recon's, Division's, Rainbow Six and so many more. There has to be some company that makes AAA games while these other companies makes two games in 10 years. How is it so hard to understand? Without Ubisoft there would be basically nothing, but endless multiplayer games and "Marvel's Avenger's" type of trash. That's not the world i wanna live in. I wanna live in world full of tons of different games each year. Of course there's also this bunch on sonyfanboys (again not talking about people who own playstation, talking about fanboys, i own playstation as well) that act like only games worth playing are console exclusives, that let's be honest are usually story simulators full of endless cutscenes, these are more movies than games, i personally want actual games ya know (and yes there are also good ones like Bloodborne.)
Everyone acts like life lasts forever and it's cool to endlessly whine about some companies while waiting 10 years for a game from another company. All we have is 100 years (usually way less) and then it's over. Forever. So instead of constant whining, either enjoy the game or just don't play it, if you don't like it. It's that simple.

That just shows that random bots can't make accounts on steam and write fake reviews, but on this site, they can and they always have. This 6.8 score in reality should be more like 7.6-8.1 but thanks to bots who give this game endless 0's, this score is lower. This usually only happens with extremely popular games and Assassin's Creed Valhalla indeed is extremely popular game. Another good comparison is RDR2 PC version score here and on steam, night and day difference and there's so many more like that.

But Far Cry 6 needs to be something completely new, they can't make another Far Cry 5, NO, because we already have that game. Stuff like Prince of Persia remake with weak animations needs to be gone, forever. None of that anymore. Valhalla is first good step into the future of Ubisoft, it's really well done game, but now things need to go even further. Really DEEPLY focus on writing, Valhalla is good, go even more deep! Invest more into your products, you have good directors, give them all the freedom the need! I know you can make good stuff, you have done it past, you can do it again, i really believe it.
I believe in you Ubisoft, because i have really liked some of your games (AC 4 Black Flag, AC Unity (after patches obviously), Far Cry 3 and even some Ghost Recon Games, even Watch Dogs 1 was good, even tho it wasn't perfect. I would hate to see you go down like this. What you did in 2019 is unforgivable, but every company messes up at times, In fact all your games have better writing than Fallout 4 or Fallout 76, not that it's good comparison, but just saying. But you need to take Rockstar as your inspiration and i feel, in a way you already do. That's good! Just focus on quality, fix more bugs before release and just do good games. That's all it takes. I'm so far loving Valhalla and i have high hopes for Far Cry 6 and future of Ubisoft, Please don't let me and all your fans down!

So basically here's the deal, i like this game, a lot. So when 2021 happens to be copy-paste of 2020, i will have something to play all year long, possibly Cyberpunk 2077 and Far Cry 6 too, if they happen to turn out good.

Combat (to me) feels okay, i have read some youtube comments that "combat is so bad", i strongly disagree. I bet they watched some youtube who told that he didn't like combat and now some people just spread false information. It's not perfect, but far from bad. Would recommend.

Darker tone reminds me Unity and i love Unity, Parkour is better than last 2 games, Big open world and story remind me Black Flag and i love Black Flag. It has two maps, not one, that's first time they have done that. You can swim underwater just like in Odyssey and there' stuff to discover underwater, on land and underground. One of the better games of 2020 imo.

I had already lost all hope and basically gave up on Ubisoft, because last year they failed completely and Odyssey wasn't best, it was okay. Far cry 5 was again...just fine. I don't even wanna talk about Ghost Recon..uhh. Anyway, somehow they managed to make good Assassin's Creed game and i'm kinda on board again. For the love of god i hope Far Cry 6 is good, because i like both of these series.

So many dislikes and for what? I don't believe these people ever cared about AC.
There's so much salt in these comments that have given 0-4 score, i don't believe they even own this game. Very often they they have only 1-2 reviews. I have also 1 review, but only reason i made this account was to point out this hypocrisy.

This idea of going back in time to different eras got me into this series in first place. Everything else comes second to me, i could endlessly free roam for hours and just check every corner, parkour on stuff. Amazing. But to everyone who wants bloody action, it's all there, always been in every AC.

Whole thing with "AC" games is that they have so many layers. Maybe that's why people get confused and don't know what to focus on? Idk, but to me this perfect. Whoever dislikes this game is not real Assassin's Creed fan. It's a fact! This game has every element that makes AC game and it's a good one at that. And if someone dislikes it because it has big map not just one city then maybe time travel back to 2010 or something, because 2020 clearly isn't for you. Every game is doing it. Odyssey problem wasn't big map, Odyssey problem was too much pointless content and grinding, that's all gone in Valhalla. What's left is interesting and meaninful content and no grinding. Valhalla has two big maps and England has many cities where parkour is possible, very similar to Unity. Overall very good game. Unity was nice, but Black Flag did huge map even before Unity. Valhalla has best of both worlds. Even tho i really like Unity, it got bit boring after a while. AC: Valhalla doesn't exactly re-invent the formula, but i think for now it's a good thing.
They fixed what went wrong with Odyssey and brought back missing elements while making story, characters and world better. With next one they need to do some complete overhaul, but Valhalla is good beginning for next era Assassin's Creed games.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a great-looking open-world game with impressive landscapes and cinematography. However, the checklist collectible open-world still needs some work to feel truly engaging, and combat is too tedious and too frequent to be compelling. As a lapsed fan of Assassin's Creed trying to see if I can click with the series once again, Valhalla didn't quite hook me as I was hoping it would.

Assassins Creed Valhalla is a lot of fun and easy to sink dozens of hours into. It is the best entry in the more recent trilogy and genuinely elevates the gameplay mechanics. Content could be considered somewhat bloated still, but it is diverse enough and the setting and story is solid most of the way through.

Sneaking is fun, fighting is fun, walking through the great outdoors is so much fun. Sightseeing too! Valhalla is free minded and could be innovative, but lacks skills to persuade its players about that. [Issue#308]
