    It is shallow to the point that it does not deserve to be called RPG. All the things you do in the first 30 minutes of gameplay will repeat for hours. The dialogues are so ugly that it almost hurts.

    I love this game! Kassandra is a wonderful protagonist and I feel like a 46-year-old child playing this masterpiece. I love the freedom it gives you to do whatever you want, more or less. Combat is awesome fun with all the various builds available... Done fine seem to appreciate the you're nature of the game compared to many older AC games, but I prefer it this way by far. To each his or her own.

    I don't think this game has anything to do with assassin. Though previous AC games are not the greatest, this game doesn't deserve to be called Assassin's Creed.

    Grandisimo juego. Una buenisima aventura de nuestro protagonista (en mi caso Kassandra). Una evolución de Origins donde todo pasa a ser mejor, el combate es más real, las batallas entre espartanos y atenienses son espectaculares. Una historia muy bien hilada, sobre todo la parte del culto. El sigilo no es como los anteriores assassins, en este digamos que tienes que conseguir ciertoGrandisimo juego. Una buenisima aventura de nuestro protagonista (en mi caso Kassandra). Una evolución de Origins donde todo pasa a ser mejor, el combate es más real, las batallas entre espartanos y atenienses son espectaculares. Una historia muy bien hilada, sobre todo la parte del culto. El sigilo no es como los anteriores assassins, en este digamos que tienes que conseguir cierto equipamiento para poder matar de una vez, una vez lo tienes matas de una vez a cualquiera salvo quizá ciertos bosses muy tochos. Pero lo que más me gusta de este juego es la cantidad de 'builds' que puedes hacer para ajustar a tu manera de juego, tanto asesino sigiloso, como guerrero melé con un mazo llameante, arquero a un objetivo o arquero a multiples objetivos, daño de veneno, daño de fuego etc... También me encanta la lista a enemigos a eliminar como ya había en Origins en menor medida, pero estos tienen de recompensa esos sets de equipamiento que te ayudarán a construir tu build. En fin un juegazo y esperando con muchas ganas el Valhalla a ver si continúa por esta senda.… Expand

    Movement and combat are extremely realistic and smooth.

    Story is more to the point and simple, making it easy to follow and not get bored of.

    Inventory and leveling system is focused on higher xp gains and more levels so you get rewarded more often, so it's better.

    Assassin's Creed Odyssey plays like a "best of" list of stealth/assassin games. It has the naval battles of Black Flag. It has the lieutenant captures and adding to your team like Shadow of Mordor. It has the RPG-like system of Origins with decision trees thrown in for good measure. It all actually works pretty well, especially the decision tree system. It starts at the very beginningAssassin's Creed Odyssey plays like a "best of" list of stealth/assassin games. It has the naval battles of Black Flag. It has the lieutenant captures and adding to your team like Shadow of Mordor. It has the RPG-like system of Origins with decision trees thrown in for good measure. It all actually works pretty well, especially the decision tree system. It starts at the very beginning when you choose which character to play, either the brother or the sister and there are big changes to the story for each one. I noticed a few small errors in some of the tree decisions like I made a major choice at one point in the story and the game in-inexplicably put me on the other path but it really didn't matter to me and I don't hold it against a game as massive as this as there are bound to be a few bugs. Nothing was game breaking.
    The story is the big sell point. This is probably the best I've seen in the Assassin's Creed franchise. I felt many previous stories (of the few AC games I've played) were paint-by-the-numbers with little emotion or surprises. Odyssey changes all of that. This installment gets a lot more fantastical too with the option of fighting "pre-cursor abominations" in the guise of legendary Greek creatures of myth. That alone adds a whole new dimension to the series and I hope they keep it up in future installments,
    One new feature that really sets this game apart from others in the franchise is the battle system. It's impressive to take part in an actual large scale battle and watch the two armies slowly widdle each other down. Sometimes there are only a handful of soldiers left standing once the fight is over. It's definitely more challenging when you assist the army on the attack at the defending army will have one rival mercenary for you to fight. I hope in the future that the game adds fortress raids, artillery or more challenges to keep it interesting.
    The game is beautiful like most in the series, but I notice after the insane amount of detail in Red Dead Redemption 2 that this felt slightly... "plain"... in comparison. RDR2 is such a huge leap forward that I have a feeling most games will feel this way for a couple more years. Thing like the horse riding is stiff and awkward. Fire effects and weather effects, though good, instantly look dated thanks to RDR.
    Speaking of RDR, one of my biggest issues with that game, I have with AC:O... fast travel. The eagle perch synchronization system is back, of course, but instead of unlocking fast travel to the nearest town.. or towns in that territory... the game fast travels you to this odd perch high up in the middle of nowhere sometimes. This just makes no sense. Some territories have no fast travel option. Including some islands that you will need to sail to if you need to visit again. In games as massive as AC and RDR, that require 100s of hours of playtime, a poor fast travel system is just a giant waste of time and just unforgivable in this day and age of gaming. At least travel by horse in Odyssey is a lot quicker than in Redemption.
    My other major major quip is that the leveling is way too fast in this game. I think Ubisoft responded to complaints about the last game and over compensated even though I have a feeling that a lot of those people never even played that game. For example, the player levels up with nearly every major main quest completed.. of which there are many. However, if you take a side quest or two... and depending on where that mission is located (like in a major fortress with a leader to assassinate or regional treasure to steal) then you can easily level up again from just a single mission. Add on special assassin targets, legendary creatures, battles and more and you will find that you are always above level for the main story quests. Enemies and regions below your level will always maxed at only 2 levels below you which is fine. The problem is the gear you will find will be, at best, 2 levels below you. After leveling another time or 2 that already low level gear will become even worse very quickly. You will be switching to mismatched newly acquired gear often, making Legendary Weapons and Gear sets obsolete very quickly. The material needed to upgrade this equipment is just insane and practically pointless. So enjoy that new Legendary set of gear for a couple hours because afterwards you may never use it again. It's a shame because the gear this time around is a lot more unique and interesting compared to Origins, but it just becomes obsolete way too fast.
    Overall the game looks great and is a blast to play with a surprisingly touching story and some fun new mechanics thrown in.    … Expand

    This game gives you options then forces you to play a warrior style.

    Example: Cyclops mission. I am picking my way through on assassin trait line walking on the top of the buildings and my proximity triggers a cutscene which forces me to fight 5-6 enemies with 2 elites.

    This is horrible... why give freedom if you need to be a warrior to pass? Uninstalled.

    I had only played AC 2 on PC. That was one of the worst games I have ever played. Therefor I had no intention of buying this. Then I saw a YouTube video and totally changed my mind. I love this game! I'm so glad I bought it. Open world, single player games are my favorite. Anyone could nit pick a game to death but I am happy with how this game works. Graphics are great. Huge (!!) openI had only played AC 2 on PC. That was one of the worst games I have ever played. Therefor I had no intention of buying this. Then I saw a YouTube video and totally changed my mind. I love this game! I'm so glad I bought it. Open world, single player games are my favorite. Anyone could nit pick a game to death but I am happy with how this game works. Graphics are great. Storyline has a bit of a spice in it, a 'WOAH' catch but is otherwise plain, go kill xyz ppl or steal xyz quests over and over. Your combat is a button-mash with a few kicks and dodges for extra effect but no real advantage (i mean u can just mash your way through most fights anyway).
    The enemies will scale up with you and those even 1 level above (at sub-lvl 10 atleast) will be impossible to kill.

    The AI is plain dumb - you hide in clear vision, i.e., just out of their field of view but in CLEAR view of all peasants NPC watching you lurk around but ignoring you. You score a hit and nearby soldiers chase you away - you obviously outpace them. The chase is simple they walk after you then they look around for 5 sec then they return to their post as if nothing happened until you repeat the process.

    This is entirety of this game you keep leveling up and get more 'stats' on your gear but combat is the same. There is smartness or subtlety as it was in the original AC games where you actually felt like an assassin lurking around. Now you just feel like a player grinding to get lvls    … Expand

    Today seems that quantity is over quality and you can notice that with the empty and dull side quest, dialogue lines that somehow seems made it by a generator and the lack of touch made the characters a bit superficial without any bound with the players. The immersion    Is sad that a great franchise as Ac. with such a great potential for a lot of things seems touch rock bottom with Odyssey.

The immersion is break by the random bugs in the physics or movements and even when you try to get amaze by the graphics on the world is indubitably they made al over the same code that Origins, even some perks you can notice the recycling of watch dogs or splinter cell.
    That's why this type of companies never would win prices or mark a difference, milking a franchise until now is an skeleton and shadow of what used to be.    … Expand

    Стандартный такой ассасин. Большой, открытый, перспективный мир как всегда забит кучей унылых однотипных заданий, персонажи картонные, диалоги написаны детьми для детей. Что Греция, что Египет, что Париж, что Лондон - у юбиков все как всегда. Последняя часть этой серии, которая еще хоть чем то цепляла - этой 4ка. Наверное я просто тогда был моложе, а эти игры и делаются для детей иСтандартный такой ассасин. Still a great game and the best AC game to date for me. Now i will wait for an AC in the Roman Empire.

El juego puede tener este título sin problema "The Witcher 3 en modo arcade dificultad fácil y con un 60% menos en todos los aspectos" siendo un juego del 2015 eso es imperdonable para Assasin's. Aún así si, si te lo tomas como para pasar el tiempo, en modo arcade y con toques humorísticos como son las minihistorias, te lo pasarás bien a ratos, eso si, acabarás harto como yo acabe de la misma misión en todos los lugares: 1- Mata al jefe 2- Descubre el tesoro 3- Quema el botín, no estoy exagerando, es la misma misión en TODAS las ciudades, el 100% y cuando digo el 100% es literal. Aunque sin duda lo peor del juego es la inteligencia artificial, es imposible que haga una misión, te salve la vida y al terminar el diálogo el NPC se asuste de mi, y vaya caminando hacía atrás o chillando, desconecta de una forma increíble con el videojuego. Esperemos que hagan una gran pausa en la saga y la mejoren.… Expand

Боевка выглядит отвратительно (впрочем, также и ощущается). Весь паркур исчез, открытый мир неинтересен. Я может нахожусь вЖалкая попытка подтисаться под успех The Witcher 3.     Better than Origins that came with a very linear constructed story, tied to the game progression mechanics.

    Still totally bloated though with bad, boring content to turn a 25 hour game into a 140 hour game in order to give the player more time to pay for microtransactions. It’s an exhausting experience.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Before i get started with reviewing this game i would like to say that i am a rpg-fan and also i also would consider myself a freak in history.
    This was the main reason why i bought the game (i did not pre-order) a few days after it released

    Story:
    The story starts fresh and at the start does a great job of setting things up (there are certain things you have to discover while playing).

    The problem is after the good prolog and the first steps in the mainstory, it goes back to "kill all those people from this list" and "Make some things to find out where these people are to kill them"
    There are some good twist in the game (although some are predictable).

    The setpieces (e.g olympic games, fight for power in Athen etc.) would be there but they did not use their potential.

    Gameplay:
    First i want to talk about the gameplay or the changes to the last AC. And i have to say there is not that big of a change to Origins, when it comes to land-battles and land-combat.
    Sea-combat made a comeback but in a much more simplistic form that in AC IV

    Overall the gameplay is ok even it will start to repeat itself after some hours.

    RPG:
    The RPG-element of the game is building your character. This mean you can pick Skills out of a skilltree and equipt diffrent weapons and armor
    The whoie thing splits into 3 styles of playing: You can play as Hunter (which focuses on long-range), as a warrior (short-range combat [NOT STEALTH]) and Assassin (Stealth and stealthkilling)
    You have the free choice how you build yourself and even mixed characters are possible

    The system has a wide range of possible mixes and builds. Although it has to be said that there are certain builds and skills that are way to powerful (as a warrior with legendary gear you are immortal).

    World:

    Again they made a open world which is f-ing huge. Each map-piece has a different style and locks amazing.
    All in all the game looks amazing. There are some beautiful snapshots in this game

    Things to do beside the story:
    There are tons of things to do beside the story: Sidequests are everywhere. You can participate in the war, collect legendary gear, kill cultmembers etc.

    The problem here is (and that is why i give this game only a "ok-ish" grade) is that not much of that is worth a while. In fact after 50% of the game i started to rush through it because i outleveled everything and everything felt like i had done it at least once before.
    The map is overpacked with things to do and it is tiring after some hours

    Conclusion:

    All in all it is not a bad game. But the story or lack of a really good story and the repetition of content stops it for being a great game.
    If they would have taken away 20 - 30 hours of content outside of the story and put the effort in the story it would be a very pleasant experience    … Expand

    A beautiful world. But after a few hours...I felt like I'm just wasting time, while I can play much better games.
    It's a bit of assassin's creed, a bit of shadow of mordor, a bit of something else...and a really big bit of nothing.

    Good game, but sad thing: this is not real Assassins Creed game. Ubisoft please make new IP (aRPG like this) for the Greek Mhytology. And the future Abstergo s*ht break the game feeling.
    +1 Very missing: Shield combat.

    I love the assassin Creed series of games, the game not only increases the size of the world, but also the prophobot of this world, but this world is filled with monotonous quests that are not remembered. If you want to dive into the atmosphere of ancient Greece, this game is for you, in this game you can kill a lot of time .

    Optimisation of the game is awful, my pc with Ryzen 7 2700 and RTX 2080 hardly manages to achieve 60 FPS - in full hd resolution! My graphics card is like 4-5 times faster than basic PS4 graphics core and I wonder where all this power is being utilised. I was very disappointed because of some sort of paywall that only allows to have easy access to legendary equipment sets only if you pay,Optimisation of the game is awful, my pc with Ryzen 7 2700 and RTX 2080 hardly manages to achieve 60 FPS - in full hd resolution! Играл во все части с первой до unity, все части были пиздатые! В том числе и unity, но после unity серия скатилась к херам! А хотел бы еще дополнить про паркур! Один паркур по скалам чего стоит, КАРЛ по скалам! Сразу видно, игра наЗачем называть игру Assassin's Creed, если тут от него в обще ничего не осталось от нее!     A huge, gorgeous, open world filled with tons of interesting quests and side-quests - I'm frankly shocked at how large the world is and how they managed to fill it with interesting content. The combat is fun and challenging, and the optional stealth approach is even more fun and rewarding - you can mix and match them as you see fit.     A huge, gorgeous, open world filled with tons of interesting quests and side-quests - I'm frankly shocked at how large the world is and how they managed to fill it with interesting content. The combat is fun and challenging, and the optional stealth approach is even more fun and rewarding - you can mix and match them as you see fit. The choice of player character and dialog options pull you into the game and make it feel like you're creating your own personal story. It took me 110 hours to beat the game, and I want to go back in to explore the islands I didn't get to and finish the side-quests there.

    The game is incredibly polished - in 110 hours I only encountered two minor bugs. The PC port is great, giving you a myriad of options to customize the game and controls, with visual previews of all the graphics options and a built-in benchmark. The game also instantly switches between mouse and keyboard and controller. My i5 6600 + 1080 Ti PC ran the game at 6040x1080 (1080p x 3) at 45-60 fps, but there's also the option for a locked framerate from 30-60 in increments of 5.

    The complaints of "grind" and "level-gated content" apply only to those who wish to rush through the main story while skipping all the side-quests and optional content. If you actually engage with the game, it is incredibly generous with XP. Just from doing the primary side-quests (which were always interesting and entertaining) and skipping most of the other optional stuff, I was gaining levels so quickly that I changed the level scaling to always match mine so that I wouldn't out-level all the content.    … Expand

    Easily the best game in the series, combat and stealth are the best they've ever been. I haven't grinded a single thing and I'm progressing easily on Hard difficulty. RPG elements are well done and greatly improved over Origins. Side quests are actually interesting.     This game is bad. LIke it has some interesting side quests and story at times and combat can be a lot of fun. But theres so much unnecessary stuff. Theres millions of fetch quests just to prolong the game time and by the end of the game I begged the God to make it end finally. Very dissapointed with this.

    Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a great game with a vast and beautiful open world. The game is set in ancient Greece and I think it captures the world of in that time perfectly. The characters are pretty good but the dialogue can be a bit not great at times but I think you can forgive that for all of the other content. Over all I think it's a solid 9 and I really recommend this game.

Great story, amazing game play, unbelievable atmosphere and very good soundtracks. In addition, the game has too few bug. To sum up, everyone who love open-world game should play this game.

    It's not good, but it is not bad. Progresion system is really grind-based. Boss is 1 level higher then you? You will have to either grind for another 10 hrs or fight him for 30 min. Story is great but the main quest ( spoiler!!!! ) about hunting down cult members is there just to make sure that you will spend at leat 100 hrs finding and fighting them.

    - Censura incoerente. O jogo é classificado como "mature", ou seja, 17 anos ou mais, porém em alguns pontos trata o jogador como uma criança de 10 anos. Ex: Protagonista eviscera um NPC adversário enfiando a lança na bunda e a corta até o pescoço (ok, mature game); por outro lado, não tem uma cena de nudez no jogo inteiro, o que é incoerente com o período retratado e com a faixa etária. Nem no puteiro, as pessoas ficam peladas.
    - Romance. Os romances no jogo são hiper genéricos e não captam um desenvolvimento emocional do protagonista. Todos os romances seguem a fórmula: encontra o NPC, faz um trabalho/favor para ele, recebe em "sexo". PS: Isso se pode chamar de sexo, pq a cena é cortada e volta ao gameplay normal.
    - Leveling. Se você não conseguem progredir na main story, se não fizer as sidequests. A diferença de nível é um problema no jogo, assim se o mapa está no nível 30, vc tem que estar no nível 29 pelo menos. E, chega um determinado momento do jogo que você tem que fazer sidequests apenas para "upar" de nível para seguir na main quest. Patético, quer fazer o player comprar "burst" de XP.
    - Sidequests são rasas e repetitivas
    - Opções de diálogo. Muitas opções são: ou falsas (independente do que você escolher, o resultado será o mesmo); ou são indiferentes (se você mata ou poupa os inimigos, nada muda)    … Expand

    -Las habilidades están un poco sacadas de onda, y es lo que probablemente le quita mas la esencia de AC.
    -El parkour es demasiado fácil y hasta poco realista, no es realmente divertido.
    -Jugar como Alexios es inútil, puesto que jugar con Kassandra es lo canon... Esto se explica a medias al principio del juego, pero es una explicación para el juego... Osea, que dentro del juego, la otra opción en el Animus seria jugar con el hermano que se vuelve Deimos, pero en el juego como tal esta opción no existe, quedando una opción totalmente irrelevante... Hubiera preferido que en efecto fuera algo como la explicación in-game, osea, dos historias que se conectaran para que asi ademas de que el juego se alargara, tuviera sentido jugar con los dos personajes.    … Expand

    I used to be a big fan of Assassin's Creed franchise, I've played all main games and several side games and this was the first Assassin's Creed game I wasn't even able to force myself to finish it.

    The game is very grindy, it forces you to do hours of boring side quests before you could continue main story and the story was also pretty boring. Combat is tedious and unnecessarily hard.     The game is very affected by PC and SJW culture, so while Ubisoft used to care about historical authenticity in older games, they discarded it in sake of political correctness. Half of mercenaries and bandits are women, ancient Greeks are shown as racially diverse etc.

    Assassin's Creed used to be really unique and now they're just trying to copy The Witcher 3. I understand older games were similar and some change was needed, but this is a wrong direction.    … Expand

    Combat is atrocious. Same thing for every engagement. There is no real counter just a block and only works half the time even when the indicator is shown on the screen and dodges are even worse for high level opponents. Story is very interesting though but probably too many side quests to progress the story through the Cult

    Beautiful sea after Assassins Creed Black Flag.
    Good graphics, normal performance, not so many bugs for me in 112 hours of gameplay.

    НЕ ПЫТАЙТЕСЬ проходить это полностью, это опасно для психики.

    227 часов на полное прохождение.
    Сюжет предсказуемый и унылый.
    Неестественные кринжовые диалоги.
    Большая часть персонажей не запоминается.
    Постановка тупо говорящие головы с кривоватыми анимациями.
    Выборов мало и влияют, в основном, только на концовку.
    Однотипные квесты в худших традициях бесплатных корейских мморпг. Побочки повторяются.
    Гринд беспощаден. Ресурсов хватает на прокачку 1 сета брони.
    Кривая боевка, где враги на тебя самонаводятся.
    Сомнительные развороты при ударах, удары которые визуально не доставали и попали, самонаводящиеся стрелы, подтаскивание из-за спины противника и добивание.
    Огромное количество мелких багов. Тонна их.
    Из критичных: пару раз улетал в текстуры, противники в них улетали, один раз квест заглючило.
    Прокачка до 50лвл уныла и постоянно упирается в уровень копья, который завязан на убийстве культистов. Скиллпоинты либо уходят в ненужные скиллы, либо копятся. После 50 лучше.
    По шмоту. Более одного сета прокачивать проблематично и нет привязки набора скиллпоинтов к конкретному набору вещей. Вариативность от этого минимальна.
    Графика хорошая, но все эти пейзажи не вывозят 200+ часов унылого геймплея.
    Музыка ни о чем.
    Анимации в целом кривоваты, но добивания наглухо кривые. Постоянно бьёшь воздух вместо врагов в скриптовых атаках и добиваниях.
    Мир пустой и кроме вопросиков с аванпостами в нем ничего интересного мною найдено не было.
    Логика мира в целом хромает на обе ноги.
    Игра легкая даже на кошмаре, а нпс тупы. Можно заходить с парадного входа и всех убивать спокойно.
    Стелс терпимый, но нпс глухи, слепы и у них нет бокового зрения. Хотя порой видят через стены...)
    Все активности в мире сводятся к аванпостам и 6-7 задачам на них. Боссы легкие, морской бой раздражает, наемники веселят не долго.
    Паркур в стиле человека-паука. Лезть по гладкой мраморной ягодице это норма, а перелезть заборчик высотой по пояс нет.
    Гробницы это просто пример деградации всего и вся... Бежишь вперед, ломаешь стенки, убиваешь змей и двигаешь ящики.

    There is only one name left of the Assassins and the hidden blade of the main character, and therefore this is no longer the Assassin's Creed and stop shoving levels and ratings, I want to secretly kill enemies with a hidden blade, as before, and not just poke them and fight with them for half a day.

    Beautiful game with a breathtaking world and endless possibilities of exploration. The attention to detail is amazing and the combat is very satisfying. But with such a detailed and well thought out world you can't help but notice some of the weird dialogue and copy-pasted faces. All in all it is worth a play.

The AC series has aways been an interweaving connected overarching narrative. How exactly is this game supposed to fit into a franchise when there isn’t even one canon answer of who these game events even happened to? Was it the brother or the sister? The very idea the player gets to chose the actions of the character undermines and intentionally destroys not only over a decade of lore and world building. In removes all the fun mechanics of trying to relive these memories as accurately as possible to fully “sync” with DNA of the person you are observing. They turned it into a bland dime a dozen RPG. And I have no problem with RPGs or chose your own adventure game, in fact I love them. But Assassin’s creed simply can’t be one by the nature of the established in universe rules.

    I would say this would be a better stand alone RPG if it dropped the Assassin’s Creed title. But honestly even as an RPG it’s lame. Unlikable characters, horribly paced story that’s only vaguely engaging. Copy paste fight mechanics they still manage to make boring or frustrating. Bloated maps and disconnected side quests. No social stealth. Ridiculous leveling system. Nonsensical skill tree. And you have to grind on unrelated side quests before you can even continue the main story. There is no in story reason why these side quests would make you grow as an Assassin.

    You wanna assassinate your father but in order to do that you have to level up. Better help an old woman make a viagra potion! And the knowledge gained from helping that woman gains you a skill point you use gain the ability to…. Call an assassin to assist in fights? You couldn’t figure out how to do that before? There is no logic or flow in leveling. It’s just arbitrary withholding of basic actions you should already have the ability to do.

    I really can’t talk poorly enough about this game. It’s an embarrassment, and it’s sad new/casual gamers consume this garbage. Ubisoft finally realized they don’t have to try that hard cuz gamers will gobble anything up if shill critics praise it. The emperor really does have no clothes.    … Expand

    That said, the game gameplay isn't bad, the stealth is just like any other generic AC, which is a good system. The combat is the most different part, now it has an RPG level system and your character has special skills with cooldown, like a fast thrust that deals massive damage to everyone on the way or a single target skill that thrown down an enemy.

    The open world is immense but empty. The only thing you have to do is just the same Ubisoft useless collectible and get some new weapons and armors for no purpose at all. The sidequests style is a copy of The Witcher 3.    … Expand

    Hands down, my favorite Assassin's Creed game. It did everything perfect by my standarts. This is game where Ubisoft really tried to make it best out of best. Those who don't like AC Odyssey because of that "Assassin" thing only, you'll never be pleased, if you can't even see quality of this game.

The gameplay is simple and straightforward, with added depth of upgrading your gear, but it all seems to naturally fit within the world. I tried Origins and Valhalla, but those don't seem to capture my imagination quite the same. I came back to this one becauseI don't like Assassin's Creed games. I love this game. This game has such charm. The characters are interesting and compelling. The gameplay is simple and straightforward, with added depth of upgrading your gear, but it all seems to naturally fit within the world.     I have never played a game as boring as AC Odyssey. While the game is fun, it's just way to stretched out. 95 percent is just traveling. Finished a quest? Nice! Now go and talk to 3 more people that are far away from fast travel points. I'm 50 hours in and I just can't be bothered to finish the Atlantis DLC because it's so unbelievably boooring.

    The level of detail, the setting in general of open worlds made by Ubisoft I am referring to more recent games, they are very well crafted and beautiful, in this we have to take our hat off.

    The cutscenes are also great, they are reproduced at 30fps with excellent quality, I would prefer a thousand times that the game was based on an action movie where you could make your choices. Since the previous model is bad at all levels.

    - Negative points (Bad)
    I love games that contain a suspenseful story, drama and action and this game managed to demolish these concepts in a negative way.

    (Game History, Main Quest and Side Quest)

    (Main Quest)
    The game's story in general is the worst annoyance I've ever experienced in a game, it doesn't have any emotional weight as if the story has no soul and doesn't convey the proper feeling when being told to us players.
    The story is understandable even the main quest is very short the only thing that makes the game time consuming is the absurd size of the entire map because they put you doing a quest 10 thousand km away from where you are.

    (Side Quests)
    The typical let's go there we have nothing to do so let's add more missions for the player to walk backwards doing absolutely nothing. Boring 100%

    (Dialogue and Writing Character)
    What can I say about the game's voice acting, authentic cavemen without any soul in the interpretation of the roles that the characters should have, the expressions of the lines are super out of sync with the non-existent facial expressions on the NPCs.
    Just for that, it takes away all the immersiveness that the game could have and doesn't have, the lines that the characters have when interacting with the main character are bad, it seems to have been written by a 10 year old kid.
    It gets worse when we enter death scenes, reunion with some character from your family that you haven't seen for I don't know how many years and the voice actors are trying to force an emotional and sad scene, but the representation is so mediocre that the characters at a certain point seem like they are laughing.

    (Micro-transactions in a Single Player game)
    Since Asssassin Creed Unity (I think it's this one) had co-op filled the whole game full of micro transactions, it doesn't make any sense.
    Not to mention the cosmetics and accessories they give you in expansions that stay in the inventory and you can't remove it and another reason that takes away the immersiveness and the concept of level progression.
    It shouldn't exist in any game in any expansion to give players "legendary" "ops" or "strong" items and I think it should be more the player's intent to play to get those items that can have a positive impact on combat.
    The horses all pretty, with fire and wings is overkill.

    (Combat and Skills)
    I have to say that I get an aneurysm playing with this game's combat, I can say that I prefer The Witcher's buggy combat a thousand times over Odyssey's combat, there's no fun going around hitting npc's and using mediocre skills.
    - The skills that are available are as simplistic as possible, creativity died at the beginning of the game's production, first Assassin's Creed should be a game focused only on Stealh and not direct combat.

    (Relationships with Characters)
    During the game you will find npc that you can interact lovingly and sexually, of course there was no shortage of a game in the middle of the 20th century where I have to do with LGBT content in the face and where they put several quests from guys asking my character if they want to do bad actions in bed, Of course I was happy to refuse all proposals and kill the npc.

    Worry about making games in conditions than worrying about adding relationships, failed attempts at sexual interactions with the character like fornicating with old women and the opposite sex to sympathize with a portion of the target audience I'm surprised they didn't put them fornicating with animals. .. Baldur Gate already did it let's see what will happen in the next game.    … Expand

The graphics are great and the game runs great - on my PC, i5 9600k@4.9 1070ti @2007ghz 32 gb ram, all on mostly max @2k- 60 fps locked. There is just so much to do, this is one of those games that you play for a while, then come back and enjoy a little more, you're notAs someone who has never liked AC games before, the best for me was about 30 hours in AC4, I really like this game. There is just so much to do, this is one of those games that you play for a while, then come back and enjoy a little more, you're not power playing through this beauty...I have 73 hours in about 2 1/2 months. I would bet you could spend 1000+ hours in this game and never see it all, love it.

    This is a so called "AAA, full price game", a single player game with micro transactions in it (!!!). And this is straight ZERO points from me. The only reason I gave it 5 is because I got it at a lower price and I actually like it.

    Dear publishers, just get the **** off with your ****ing MTX's. Leave the single player PC games alone.

    A fun story set in ancient greece, this entry rightly jettison's most of the stupid animus stuff from the previous games (I spent maybe 5-10 minutes not running around as the ancient greek hero).

    Oh you're still jumping around roofs, hiding in bushes, and assassinating guys in forts... but the combat is actually fun for a change. You CAN fight people outside of stealth battles and win. It flows quite nicely and on nightmare can actually be challenging at points (I only had to set my difficulty back to normal at a few different points in the game over 70 hours).

    Some people mention a grind and online store, but I never really saw any of it. Doing the gold quests (the non-generic, non-procedural generated ones that have actual unique content) will get you all the xp you need to progress to the next area.

    You play as a greek mercenary and part-time demigod (that part comes later) who's trying to reconnect with her families. How you do that is up to you. On the way you find out that the dastardly templ-I mean cultists are manipulating everything in the background, in fact, they're entirely responsible for the current war going on. It's up to you to stop them while running around killing bandits and boars and upgrading your ship.

    A few things keep this game from being truly great. First off, the optimization - it's terrible. This game looks slightly worse than the witcher 3, and runs twice as badly on my PC. Ubisoft needs to optimize their games better, this was simply unacceptable. Secondly, the end of the story is complete trash. Without spoiling anything, a character manages to live for 1,000+ years only to kill themselves after 'passing over the mantle' of things... what, they couldn't spare an hour or two to expound a little bit on what they did and what the character they were passing over things to should do? There was no rush in this scenario, it was simply mind boggling. Thirdly, the animus crap. Why is it necessary? You can include the scifi aliens without the animus nonsense. Maybe there's something in the previous games that explains it, but it's a garbage way to tell a story and I will never play those games - because they are badly. Lastly, what I said previously ties into some of the greeks being black for literally no reason. I imagine it was put in there for the same reason the game tells you there was a 'multicultural team' working on AC odyssey before you even get to the start menu - to pointless virtue signal over the fact that the team is composed of leftist mental retards (and, as a quick google search shows - 99% of them are white guys, very diverse, much multikult). This didn't detract from gameplay (well the black "greeks" did) but made me cringe and was retarded.    … Expand

    The latest addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise is truly a wonder and a fresh take on a stale idea. The excellent execution, gameplay and story is only overshadowed by greedy micro transactions, paid XP and awful optimization.

    While AC: Origins was packed with interesting stories, Odyssey is a generic ’Ubisoft sandbox’ in the worst sense, with hundreds of the same-looking places, dozens of ”kill-fetch” quests and almost zero motivation to grind further.
