Perhaps this is greatest compliment I can pay Liberation. This game restored my faith. Ubisoft can still produce a good Assassin's Creed game.

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation HD is an example of been there, done that but not as well as in main Assassin's Creed series. [Feb 2014]

Even a low budget Assassin’s Creed is more enjoyable than most AAA games. There’s not much to do besides the main story and you can deal with Liberation in less than 7 hours, but it will be time well spent. [03/2014, p.56]

Assassin’s Creed: Liberation is a nice game with good graphics, but doesn’t have the great overall-quality and the high production value of the other Assassin’s Creed-titles. It lacks in terms of story and new gameplay-elements. If you are a fan of the series because of its gameplay and haven’t played Liberation on PS Vita, you should consider to buy the game.

Even though it follows the series' tradition in terms of core gameplay tenets maybe a bit too closely, Liberation's New Orleans is still well worth a visit.

Without any doubt the PC version of Liberation HD is the best on the market.

With a significant new graphic look, Assassin's Creed Liberation still is a faithful version of the saga which keeps its controls, mechanics, playability and open locations to explore with three different identities: Slave, Dame or Assassin. Great voice-over work, good duration, and a very different main character this time compared to other games in the series, certainly this HD port doesn't bring anything new if we have played the previous portable version, but it will satisfy the thirst of those fans that need more AC experiences after Black Flag, although let's be clear that this is what it is: An HD port from a portable game.

    Quotation forthcoming.
  9. Ultimately, Liberation features a fantastic premise with an evocative heroine that sadly doesn’t measure up to any of the games in the main series. If you are an Assassin’s Creed nut who really wants to see the fictional universe from another perspective, give Liberation a whirl. If you are just looking for some more Assassin’s Creed action, the other six games are better than this one.

Liberation's portable formula translates into home format losing part of its original appeal. The skin-tight Vita game fits better Aveline's sexy silhouette than this recycled outlet version. That is also technically out of fashion, after Black Flag.

Sometimes stripped-down and stealthy, but mostly basic and boring, Liberation can't play in the big leagues.

This conversion ain't so shiny, yet it offers a solid portion of what every Assassin fan craves, with a charming lead character to boot. [Issue #239]

Its craft is sloppy, its design remains shackled by ill-conceived new ideas, as well as the limitations of the platform it hails from.

A slightly above-average game has finally its bad remake. Its graphics is basically the same, and all of the original design's mistakes now catch your eye even more.

Ubisoft shouldn't port this piece of...bad game to PC. I thought Black Flag became the worst game in the series, but developers surprise me again.

This game is very similar to AC3, but graphics seems worse, the battle system is too primitive, moreover Liberation HD has more annoying bugs than AC3. The idea to wear different costumes which changes the gameplay is pretty well, but of course, in the game it doesn't work, so gameplay is still sucks and doesn't matter in general which one you wear.

The worst park of the game are story and characters, no doubt. It's so foolish and illogical, that only way to continue playing is to ignore all that rubbish. I suppose, that characters from Quake 3 have much more in common with real people, than characters from Liberation.

The good part of the game is the gameplay of missions, which are better, than in AC4, and you won't be forced to play the same missions again and again, but there are no great or fresh ideas, too. I also like the sound, the actors are pretty well, but the dialogues are similar to the story, very bad...

Unfortunately, i didn't play the Vita version and hoped to have at least some fresh gameplay with female alter-ego, but almost every aspects of the game are quite bad.

I spent hours on that single part where I need to kill the alligator, I'm not a young pup but even had my kid tried it and and couldn't pass that point. Beyond that it felt lacking of content and subquests to keep it interesting. This should have been an addon to blackflag and stayed that way and fixed for people to actually play it before released.
