Its a realy good MMO for players who can playing for long a time and have a frineds to coop. But if you want to reach more in this game you need to buy premium for in-game value or real money.

Pros: The game is actually fun and a great concept. It is a grind and the beginning, but once you get into Tier 5 you can really enjoy the game. The new combat and armor system is great. The trade system and guild wars are amazing. Dungeons and raids can be fun. Red and Black zones are risky to be in, but make the game challenging and fun.

Cons: What is keeping Albion from being a 10 star even though I am a current subscriber? Well, it is easy to get "burned out" on the grind of Albion. The game is missing something for the player base to do while not leveling something up. (Quests, battlegrounds, story, npc interactions, etc.) The social side of the game is also lacking. There is no point of a friends list or list of players of any sort since you can not easily invite them to a group or anything. Everything you wish to invite a player, you have the manually enter their name each time. (This can get tiring and irritating for people with hard names).

Right now, the game is boring as hell for solo players. If you want a guild based game, this is the best one. If you want something to play on your own, this is the worst one for you.

The game is simply boring, after 3 weeks of playing I hardly find a reason to log in and play. With that said, in the Pay to Play game there is a subscription and they are selling gold! Can you imagine the extent of greed? You buy the game, then you have to pay a premium subscription fee unless you want a daily chore instead of a game, on top of it they are selling gold in the game shop. This is ridiculous! On top of it the game is lagging like hell for more than 3 weeks already, there been like more than 3 attempts to fix it already but not much changed to be honest. EU players get 5x ping the US players have. I can go on and on with the flaws, starting from primitive game design, world design in particular (it's just a bunch of bonded together instances). 5/10. It is by far a game to keep a keen eye on (despite it not being for everyone) this game is grindy and unforgiving but its what makes it so enthralling to me this game is full loot (if playing in black or red zones or any unrestricted pvp area). Your character is what you make of it whatever you want to spec in is up to you where class is determined by armor and weapon. Every item is player crafted by players who have stuck with the skill path they've chosen i.e sword crafting or mining or ax fighting to either acquire new abilities, stronger weapons, or craft better items. It doesn't stop their you can join a guild/alliance and fight for territories in the open world or solo gank in hopes salvage gear of higher quality or value the content is endless. Now despite me saying the content is endless this where i draw the line and is the reason why this game is a 7 not anything higher or lower because its a game played for those who seek to work together not all tasks are achievable solo and not all tasks are consider fun(completely up to persons preference) it isn't the most beautiful look game on the market but it certainly holds wonder to its many players that inhabit its living breathing world. In end take think about whether or not this is a game for you; Do you like PVP? Are you OK with losing your gear when you die? Do you like involving yourself in group oriented content/play and talk with strangers? Do you like games that require a ton of grinding? I would say to give this game a shot if you said yes to three of any of the questions posed above. Expand

Personally, I feel more like a 3/10, but I realise that some people actually enjoy a grind - Albion Online might be worth considering for them, if they can get over the other problems. It basically is a grind, with the rewards for grinding consisting of unlocking new grinds.

Personally, I feel more like a 3/10, but I realise that some people actually enjoy a grind - Albion Online might be worth considering for them, if they can get over the other problems. It basically is a grind, with the rewards for grinding consisting of unlocking new grinds.

The other issues have to do with the server populations (too small), the game performance (not very good and terrible in locations with many players) and the world design (causes people to all bunch up in very few places).

I like that players make everything and that stuff doesn't magically move around, although I do think the new player experience would improve if that point was somehow made clear to new players. If you're having stereotypical "get me n of x"-NPC's anyway, why not use their missions to actually teach players about the world and pointing at some of the stuff they will not get right away, but will be wondering about how to get.

It very much feels like an alpha-stage game right now, even though it has quite a bit of time on it already and people are paying full price. The lack of a business model that fits with the current incentives to play the game doesn't give me high hopes for the longevity of Albion Online.

If you enjoy a grind, don't mind a glitchy experience in towns, like the cartoonish art style (I do actually) and like the pioneering sense of a new game, even though you have to pay - go for it.

This game could've been amazing for a lot of people, however it's geared towards a niche player base that enjoy hardcore PvP. The fact is every game like this has gone the way of the dodo, or switched to PvE and PvP options. This game isn't and it's dying. The Free to Play has breathed a bit of life, but already a lot of the people who started play have stopped. I would give it one or two years more before it closes. Expand

Albion pulls you in with its Runescape like graphics and gameplay. But it quickly becomes apparent that something strange is going on....

My problem with Albion is the fact that it has no depth beyond its full loot PvP experience. The combat is mediocre and just, well, boring. There are a total of 6 skills. Yes....6 skills make up the entirety of your character. Put on equipment to change your skill. That's it. The devs have nerfed every skill and every unique build into oblivion. You play the way the devs want you to play, period. This game is overdeveloped and overbalanced.

Even combat in Runescape is more interesting. Combat is fast paced, and requires little actual strategy since all there are, are 6 skills to spam. 3 skills for your weapon, 1 skill for each other gear slot. Your boots skill is a running skill and not even directly used in combat, usually only to run away to kite. And...that's it. You have a potion. And a cape. Whoop de doo. Nearly every "class", plays the same. There is little to differentiate you from someone else. There are no strategies to the fights. Press your buttons and win or lose depending on the meta and gear tier. Not alot of skill goes into it.

The other side of Albion is the crafting. Again, ripped straight from Runescape. That's fine and all. The game is overdeveloped. Crafting is a bore. There is nothing interesting to make. All equipment is tiered, there are no unique items, trinkets to make.

This game is fully centered around PvP. That's fine with me. But its unironically a snoozefest.

Albion Online is an excellent MMO with top tier PvP content. As a sandbox, it has no quests, which leaves more room for freedom to do whatever you wish. What I don't like is how the game is only fully centered around full-loot PvP.

That sort of gameplay can be boring, but sometimes I like it. It's a game for relaxation.

You could kindly call Albion Online old-school or hardcore, which might appeal to gamers with a nostalgia for the days of corpse runs, griefing, and ganking. Less graciously, you could say it is repetitive, cynical, uninspired, and opaque. In truth, MMORPGs that survive their infancy often grow into very different games than they were at launch. Patches and player input often have a way of shaping a game for the better, and given time, Albion Online may evolve as well.

Albion Online is a fun sandbox MMORPG with a clever progression mechanic and deep player-economy. The mid to late game grind and hardcore nature might turn away anyone looking for a more casual experience.

Albion Online remains very motivating despite the large grind, thanks to the many and freely selectable options for character development.
